First, the Pick Two option is a great value. We both got the Chicken Tortilla soup and different sandwiches to go with it. Service was fast and friendly and the food was delicious. A manager came to check on how we were doing and we said "great". We told him we hadn't been in the store for a couple years since they took the taco salad off the menu. He said, "Let me check with the kitchen" and came back, saying, " we have all the ingredients - I can make one up and send it home with you - it's on me!" I had never been to a McAlisters Deli but have seen them in various cities for years. My wife and went tonight and were very pleasantly surprised. Her potato soup was excellent as was her salad. My combo club sandwich was great with a supriseingly large 1/2 Caesar salad. The food was served on china plates with real silverware-not plastic. The restaurant was clean with no glaring loud music. Very bad reaction of manager or male employee handling a panhandler inside the restaurant. The PH approach a few of the lunch time people for lunch money. The male employee went to a customer's table and grabbed the PH, wrestling him down the isle past guests having lunch, swearing vulgar language, choking the PH, the PH pants falling down to his knees. The whole scene, threatening behavior was provoked by the employee. It was totally uncalled for and ruined a nice leisurely lunch with my friend who was stressed with family illnesses and loads of heart-wrenching decisions. It was appalling on the part of the employee. He definitely needs anger management and decorum training. read more

Not pleased with the fact my order was incorrect but no one from the store called to say they didn't have the sandwich I wanted or the cookie I ordered they just sent out what ever part of the order they had. They use Doordash for delivery and they are awful. When we use the drive thru or order ahead we never have a problem and 98% of the time the food quality is excellent unless it is delivered by Doordash. read more

I'm of the opinion that their Pick 2 combo is the best food for the price that you'll find anywhere in Peoria. I love their sandwiches, but I really love their salads. I mix up which of these two I order each time, and I'm never disappointed. I don't think I've ever had a bad sandwich or salad in all the times I've ordered from them, and always order online and then stop in and pick it up, ready to go and already paid for. I also like that the food is in cardboard containers, and not plastic. I'm so glad Peoria has this restaurant. read more

Thought I would give them another shot after a few bad experiences years ago. I can't figure out why they are still in business! The prices are too damn high considering the quality and size of the food items with the exception of the 1 gallon cups they use. Tried a choose 2 with a bacon & cheese potato and a French Dip. I asked if the potato would melted shredded cheese or liquid cheese and she said liquid. It was definitely a very skimpy portion of melted and re-hardened shredded cheese. I included a photo of it for your opinion. Should've taken a photo of the tiny sandwich too. It was about 4 inches and had a small pile of beef in the very center of the bread. I paid $7 for this sad little meal. Wendy's bacon & Cheese potato is the same size or larger with actual melted liquid cheese and twice as much bacon for $1.99. Throw in a Jr. cheeseburger and you would get a much better meal at half the price. Writing this place off for good now! read more

Went to McAlisters for a single sandwich today, and waited for over 40 minutes in the drive thru! Walked inside to ask if they had somehow lost my order, and they said it would be another 5-10 minutes on top of what I had already waited. There were 7-8 people waiting in line with us, and many of them waited so long that they left without getting their food. This is an inexcusably bad restaurant, and if they can't manage to deliver fast food faster than it would take to have a full meal at a sit-down restaurant, then they should close their drive thru. One of our favorite stops in Peoria for a bite to eat. When we stopped here today we had our best experience in a long time. The staff was friendly, as usual, but our food seemed to come out quicker and looked great. It tasted just as good as it looked too. I had the French Dip with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy. My wife had a SpudMax with Potato Soup. The manager stopped around to see how our meal was. Great visit, highly recommend! read more

McCalisters has better food than Panera, in my opinion. I love their food... However, the Peoria location is all aboard the hot mess express. Slow, inaccurate/inconsiatent and constantly out of things (like to-go cups for example... how does that happen?) It is a shame because their food is so yummy, and I love other McCalisters locations. I have been going to this place since it opened. Normally good food, normally good service. The last few times including tonight the orders have been sloppy and had missing items. I ordered the 1/2 Avocado BLT sandwich and Chicken Tortilla Soup for pick-up. The sandwich looked like a toddler threw all of the ingredients into a container and they forgot the soup (my bad for not checking the bag before I left). The avocado on my daughter's salad was black. Well I used to love this place... in other states, but this one specifically no, I tried so hard but just no. A few years ago it was about the Mac and cheese not being served but it was on the menu. Today- well I can't seem to get my food after waiting almost half an hour because the teenage staff members who are servicing the facility currently at 8:00pm on 12.1.2023 are goofing off, hitting each other with trash bags and then proceeded to try and make up my half hour wait with a very considerate offer of a cookie. Sadly, I could not even eat the cookie due to severe Tree Nut allergies (didn't even ask me- which should have been the first step here)... I'm all for fun at work no matter what, but waiting half an hour for a drive thru order is a bit excessive... Honestly- no wonder this place looks like a ghost town all the time when you drive by. I had a chicken & blt salad with avocado delivered. It was delicious! There were huge slices of fresh chicken, meaty bacon pieces and lots of green salad. The potatoes are huge and the sandwiches are so fresh. I got the half cheesy potato w/butter and sour cream and a half of a corned beef and pastrami sandwich. On this occasion it was pretty crowded inside but we still found a place to sit. I had the Sweet Chipotle Chicken Panini and it was decent along with the potato salad. This place is amazing!! Just walking in you feel a family element. Immediately walking up we were serviced, and the server, Andy was amazing!! Very polite and very attentive to our needs. He was patient when we did not know what we wanted, and very helpful when we had questions. I got the grilled chicken caesar wrap, and it was prepared amazing. The coleslaw was so good too!! It may have been a problem with either their website or their kitchen, but I ordered a veggie club without swiss cheese and ranch dressing with the addition of hot mustard and none of those changes made it to my meal. By the time I realized it, I was already home and it wasn't worth going back. We also ordered a macaroni and cheese side and the cup was half empty! We stopped here because we saw it on the road but it was definitely worth it! The well-sized sandwiches are absolutely amazing for a not that high price, with a pickle and a side included. If you like constantly wondering whether or not your order will be correct, this is the place for you! Seriously. Almost every time we have come here, one of our two items has been made seriously incorrectly. We don't have complicated orders. And also, be wary that the employees don't always follow the mask requirements. In fact, today while I was waiting to pay at the window, the manager took off her mask several times (pulled it below her chin) while showing the other employees videos on her phone. We love McAlister's but I'm tired of getting incorrect items and not having the quality assurance process at the restaurant actually work.
