Walked in to a dead restaurant on a Wednesday at 6:00. Was told it would be a 10 minute wait. Not a problem. After 20 minutes we were rudely told it would be another 10 minutes because they were short staffed. We still waited, after 45 minutes another woman came out told us again it would be a 10 minute wait. I said if you would have told us it would have been a 45 minute to an hour wait we would not have stayed. Absolutely terrible. The coffee here isn't even good. I've been givin a dirty cup with lukewarm coffee more than once what is so hard about serving hot coffee ? Last time was the final draw I ordered the ever popular sunshine skillet I was served the scrambled eggs and half cooked potato on top and the gravy was so thin I used a spoon to taste it Then I noticed there was no sausage in it Where is the sausage? I call over my waiter and tell him and he says oh I'll get you some more sausage Hello there is NO sausage it clearly is supposed to contain sausage so he brings me one ounce of cooked sausage In a bowl I look at it.... look at the eggs and the soupy gravy then I see something orange floating and I fish it out and it's a plastic bread tie off a bread bag in my meal OK I'm done We leave never to return read more

I went here yesterday for my friend's birthday dinner and I had a fairly large party of high school students with us. We were noisy and irritating, I felt so bad for the few tables around us. But, Brittany, our waitress, was absolutely wonderful. She dealt with our noise professionally and even joked around with us as well. Food was quick and everyone enjoyed their meals (10/10 would recommend the Mac n' Cheese) and I personally can't wait to come back! read more

I have to say this place has one of the nicest, most welcoming staffs I have ever encountered. I mean ANYWHERE. I'm telling you, they employ the kindest, most genuine people. At the end, we all donated to their charity (I think they are providing Christmas dinners to local families in need) and the cashier was so gracious and said we'd all be receiving a blessing for our generosity - I mean, wow! So lovely. Food was better than I expected. Eggs cooked nicely, red skin potatoes made up the home fries, decent biscuits (which they served with packaged margarine instead of butter - bummer), crispy, thick bacon... definitely superior to most chain breakfasts (I'm looking at you, Denny's....) It's solid, well-made food for a chain, but the service puts it over the top. I love those people! read more

We are from California visiting some family member in Peoria. We were craving for some classic breakfast and heard about this place. It's nothing really special but definitely satisfied our breakfast craving of eggs, hashed potatoes, bacon and pancake! I wished bacon was a bit more crispy but wasn't too bad. Only thing I took one star off was their coffee..... :( it was not horrible but wasn't that great either. Other than that I will def will come back for breakfast if I come back to Peoria again :) read more

I had no idea that previous reviews would be nearly identical to mine. BUt here goes: Ryan, our server, was marvelous. He had an ever-present smile, was always doing something for the good of his customers and the good of the restaurant, and went above and beyond in caring for us. The food: Incredible for a Bob Evans. It was very tasty, served piping hot and generous in portion size. My wife said the salad was great. My chicken fried steak was spicy, but not terribly so. The garlic bread was crispy and very good. What I liked best was when Ryan brought our iced tea, the lemon was in a separate dish to use if we wanted. Why doesn't EVERY restaurant do that? We needed carryout breakfast for 10 people. Being from San Diego, we chose Bob Evans with modest expectations. However, this is the most cheeful, helpful staff we have encountered!! From Denai taking our order over the phone and working hard to get it right. To the star of the show, Starr, who made sure everything was in order, all condiments, serving spoons, plates, etc. Starr and staff were so friendly and engaging that after the 10 minutes it took to get our order packed, my wife and I were compelled to hug her - just like old friends. Needless to say, we will always use this Bob Evans when back home in Peoria and probably go out of our way to do more carryout breakfasts. What a great experience. OK, I have to admit that I went in with low expectations, but this was one of the best moderately priced meals I've had in town in a long time. We arrived after 8:30pm and even though they close at 9:00, we were seated happily. Our waitress was prompt and made us feel welcome. The food was fairly basic but well prepared, served hot, and yummy. We were served margarine with our breads and asked for real butter instead, which was available on request. My husband discovered we had come on the buy one get one coupon night, so our dinner was 1/2 price. I was very happy with the visit. read more

I have always enjoyed Bob Evans at this location. This time, I went with my wife and three grandchildren. The food was good, just not equal to the standards they previously set. One example, the children previously received a freshly baked cookie as a dessert. This time, they took an old overbaked cookie and microwaved it. read more
