Never visited a McAlisters and noticed one close the the house. Was in the mood for some lunch and stopped by for a visit. Pretty busy location and waited a few minutes to order food. McAlister's deli has a very diverse selection of food options to make any pallet comfortable. We went with a salad, sandwich and soup. All items were delicious and so was the sweet tea. Prices were reasonable and didn't hurt the wallet too much. Restaurant was clean and tables serviced quickly. Great meal, highly recommend anyone give them a try. read more

Love McAlisters! Food is always delicious, high quality and fresh and the staff is amazing at this location. Portions are always larger than your typical cafe and quality feels higher as well. The King Club is my go to. Their Mac and cheese is fire too. The French dip is also amazing- really can't go wrong with any of it. read more

Food is always good, service awful, I walked in and asked for my order and this guy just looked at me and was like uhhh idkkkk and pointed me to another lady who was so sassy and rude. Genuinely just trying to get my salad and have a good night and her snarky additude ruined my night. I told her my salad was literally in my sight in the back and she wouldn't grab it for me! Genuinely insane, then she was so rude when I tried to be nice about the huge mistake, what an angry lady. The young lady that took our order apparently did not know how to use the cash register, then she didn't know how to make change. My I ordered pick two and the half Reuben was generous and very good but my half Ceasars salad had very little dressing and the little it had tasted watered down. When I told the young lady the Reuben was good but the salad was a total disappointment she smiled and said ok like it was all a compliment. Probably won't be on our return list. read more

I would give them five stars, however, they removed one of their best menu items several years ago and have never brought it back. They had an open faced roast beef sandwich called the big nasty and it was amazing. For a "sandwich shop" it is a step above as far as the atmosphere. Having never spent much time in McCallister's, we thought we'd try it out tonight. I always hear great things about it. The store itself has an upscale atmosphere. The covered patio was neatly kept and inviting. The dining room was clean and comfortable, a nice feel for a fast-casual restaurant. We were acknowledged and waited on promptly. I have 'menu anxiety' so I often ask employees what they like to eat there. I wanted a "pick two" and asked the young man what salad he likes. He responded that he didn't eat salads. Ha! Left to figure it out myself. I ended up with a chicken salad on croissant and a Southwest chicken and avocado salad. I would give each of these items a 3.5. The sandwich was good enough, but it didn't make me want to order it again. The salad was good, lots of flavors and textures (chicken, beans, corn, cheese, avocado, tortilla strips, etc.) The chili lime vinaigrette that came with it was good also, but not terribly exciting. My husband ordered the shareable nachos, a large plate of chips covered in the usual nacho toppings-meat, cheese, black olives and such. He did a good job cleaning his plate. I think they were good, but nothing stood out about them. Based on this experience I would visit again and try some different sandwiches and salads. read more

My mom wanted to buy me a birthday dinner & I chose a salad from here. Savanna salad with roasted chicken, Gorgonzola cheese, almonds, tomatoes & cucumbers with a cherry (?) vinaigrette dressing was great, fresh & large. My mom couldn't finish half of hers. I added some very good unsweetened tea and kicked it off excellently with carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. The "brookie" was a good dense brownie, but nothing deserving it's name. I'm a fan of the chili at McAlister's Deli. On this day I ordered the choose 2 with a cup of chili and the ultimate nachos. The service was fine and everything tasted fine but the temperature of everything on my plate was barely lukewarm. I don't understand why this chain has an issue serving hot food, especially a soup. I'm not a person that sends food back. I would give it another shot because I like their chili, especially in the winter. P.S. There were table tents on every table advertising a Cinnabon Cheesecake. We went to McAlister's as a "try something new" alternative, and it was entirely refreshing to see what a wide menu and excellent service the team offered. I was expecting more of a fast-food experience, but instead we had a server bring our order with a huge smile and great attitude, with follow-up to see if we needed anything else, and then another friendly server cleared our plates and made sure we'd enjoyed our meal. I was seriously disappointed with the portion size and quality of food for the amount of money. We ordered online and when we picked up our order we found out we got the last two spuds of the day. We realized that wasn't such a good thing when we tried to eat them and they were so hard and burnt only the insides were edible. The size of the $10.99 roast beef sandwich was about 5 inches, and looked only to be about an inch larger than my "choose two" half sandwich. The employee told me "I'm not in charge of prices, Ma'am" when I asked if that was really the correct size sandwich for the $10.99 meal. I wasted $45 on two burnt potatoes, a half sandwich, and another tiny sandwich that was supposed to be full size. When I contacted the manager for a refund, he gave me 1,000 reward points. I returned his email and he never answered. Avoid at all costs. read more

Tonight was the 4th time I picked up the order, gotten home and there has been at least 1 side item missing. I am not about to drive 10 minutes back to get the side. Brand new McAlisters! Wonderful location off of hwy K and hwy 70. Bright and shiny! They seem to have a separate room in this location for meetings or events. Nice touch They also have a tea bar to pick up your sweet tea and get refills. Speeds up the line. Same great menu and tea! read more

Worst McAlisters ever!! I got a dry spud and a bowl full of veggie chili sludge broth for $24. Since I had it delivered via their preferred carrier they refused to make it right and I ended up spending $37 on an order I couldn't eat. Do not even bother with this location. They do not care about quality they just care about money. Absolutely expensive garbage. this is the McDonald's of McAllister's. Not a good look and they don't give a crap. read more

A McAlister's Club sandwich is forever my go to here. I've never been disappointed by the quality of my food and the portion sizes are fair. The other star of the show is the iced tea. I'm not sure how McAlister's makes their tea so good, but we often stop in just pick up a gallon to bring home. read more

First time we ate here was after they opened. The roast beef on the French Dip was tough so I wasn't very happy but chalked it up to being new but had no desire to go back any time soon. This was disappointing because I really like McAllister's. Today we ordered take out on line. Again I ordered the French Dip with potato salad as it's my favorite. My husband ordered the Reuben, which is his all time favorite deli sandwich. When he picked it up they were out of potato salad. A deli without potato salad???? So got the Mac and cheese (didn't care for it) When I opened the containers I couldn't believe how small the side of Mac and cheese was. The French Dip nor the au jus had any flavor. The positive, though, was there was plenty of meat on the sandwich. My husband said the Reuben was just OK. I will always give a restaurant at least 2 chances and I normally LOVE McAlister's but I'm very disappointed with the food, or lack of, from this location. read more

Good to see this place open up in O'fallon. Like this chain far better than Bread Company. Sandwiches and salads are huge and fresh. A minor thing but one of the few places that give you big water cups. (Other places shovel you a tiny cup as a penalty for not ordering a drink...silly) I had a Reuben and it was awesome. The order was placed through GrubHub and the delivery was on-time and the driver was very friendly. The food received was good as usual but there was a missed item. I contacted the restaurant since they missed the item not GrubHub and they told me I would need to call GrubHub to request the refund. Why is it my responsibility to call and request my refund from them when the restaurant knows they missed the item? Seems like there is no accountability on their end. I typically order here once a month but at this point I will have to re-think this option. GrubHub handled the refund quickly so I will continue to use their service. read more
