Arrived a few min before 11, there was one lady working the cash register and two guys hiding behind the tea stand, so they didn't have to be seen. Shortly after 11, roughly 4 employees showed up and seemed like things started to move a little quicker. It took over 20 min to get my order, that I placed on the app. I wish I hadn't, as I would have left after waiting so long. Food is typically good, really enjoy their salads and tea. As I went up to counter, there was a sign asking for patience, due to short staffed. Maybe have it in the door, so people are aware before waiting in the line so long. Oh well.. read more

My sweet h bbq chicken sandwich was good and I had a backed potato and the bacon cheddar sour cream. they need to add more ingredients to their specialty baked potatoes. I had the bacon and cheddar, and it was very dry with only a few pieces of bacon and cheddar on it. I had to ask for more sour cream and butter, and I can't believe the manager had bought it out to me. She could have looked at it and said oh wow I'm gonna take this back but she didn't. I didn't want to complain to them. I just asked for more ingredients but they need to do better and I've experiencing all our baked potatoes and I think it's just this location in Kokomo. read more

I typically go to McAlister's all the time when I'm in town and it's great. Today was a major exception. The cashier was extremely short and unfriendly. I asked for no pickle spear and low and behold my plate came with a pickle spear in the middle of my food. The worst part undoubtedly has to be the macaroni floating in my Au Jus. I did not have macaroni. Edit - Directly following my initial review, a waitress dropped a tray next to our table that covered us in what appears to be cottage cheese. Well this was an excellent stop. I had the Orange cranberry club, and He had a smokey pepper jack turkey. Both were excellent. The sweet tea was a good addition to the meal. We tasted the variety of pickles available and they have a nice sharp flavor to accompany your sandwich. We finished up our meal with cookies. I had the peanut and He had the Macadamia nut, both very tasty. The restaurant is clean, the servers were happy and helpful. Friendly service is always a plus. Was disappointed as they have changed a few things. They did away with Green Tea , now I know that's a personal preference but means a lot to me. i have grew up eating here but not anymore. i made an review on google but i think it should be on here too. the service i got at the beginning was great, but when i told them my sandwich (french dip, almost $40 for 2 sandwiches) was messed up and not really cooked all the way they told us the meat ships to them that way which is concerning because don't you still have to cook it!? well i caved in with only one sandwich being refunded back as an independent student on one income, should have known not to eat good one night haha! well on the way out a worker black hair kinda tan skinned said "BYE!" as i walked out. that was what sat me over was the shitty remark. awful service, food made awful and i guess not cooked? still can't wrap my head around it. and how they hire on such rude people! read more

Here is an update to my review of McAlister's Deli in Kokomo. The WiFi connection is still terrible. And the Manager is worse. I have class in the evening so between work and school I get something to eat. I was in the restaurant at least once a week for 4 weeks sometimes twice a week. From around 4:30 until 5:30. Every time I was in the restaurant I got to listen to the manager deliver his berating reprimands to the staff. On my final visit the music was not working, so his lovey behavior could be enjoyed by all the guests throughout the restaurant. I want to be able to eat and then do some work. But I just couldn't stand listening to they yelling. I have since stopped visiting this location and I now go to Panera's across the street where the atmosphere is so much better. Update: 3 months ago the owner messaged me about my review. Stated she would be contacting me privately. I agreed to talk with her and have not heard one word since. Not so good with the follow through. I was in the restaurant business for 20 years and it's how you solve your problems that really sets your restaurant apart. read more

I had the chopped Italian salad which oddly enough was not chopped. It was a fairly good portion size but not very good. My friend had the "The McCalister" signature club sandwich, and it was disappointing at best. If you're gonna have a sandwich, and call it your signature sandwich and name it after your franchise it better be special. This club sandwich was lacking in the "layers" the description talks about. Very thin and not alot of meat, and it's not cheap. Another friend had a chicken salad croissant and macncheese and was not thrilled either. Or first time at McAlisters. We really had no idea what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by the menu variety; however, I was disappointed in myself for not doing some yelp research first. We didn't know what to order! Settled on a "choose two." We both had half a grilled chicken sandwich and a Caesar salad. The sandwich was quite tasty with a good amount of chicken, fresh spring mix, and a good honey mustard sauce. Unfortunately, the sandwich was all but ruined by the dry, stale, flavorless "croissant" on which it came. Think of Cheddars' delicious, flaky, mouth-watering croissants -- and then think of their opposite... that's what we received at McAlisters! The Caesar salad was better--a little larger portion than expected. Positives: efficient ordering process, LARGE glasses of water, nice variety of pickles and peppers Negatives: dry, stale, flavorless croissants Takeaways: We will be back because of the reasonable prices and menu variety. Understanding that during these times, things can go wrong or take longer. However, when you order through the app and pay for additional items you should get them without poor service or bad attitude. It's interesting that you can go to one location and NOT have to pay extra because they give you the correct amount. But to pay extra and then be treated poorly, is just unacceptable. They're poorly staffed and don't care if you're a paying customer. I don't recommend THIS location whether there's a pandemic or not. Just left McAllisters....what a great meal we had for $20.00. My husband's Chicken Dumpling soup was mush. My Club sandwich...first one came out on wheat bread. I had specifically asked for white bread with no honey mustard. Server brought it out... said they would make another. We were eating on the patio...she hurried away, and obviously, did not hear me say no honey mustard. New sandwich came out on white bread...with honey mustard. I give up! Upon leaving, I stood at the counter waiting for a refill. The order taker looked right at me....then told the people in line to order to come up. This is the best go to for lunch in the city, however if you don't want your sandwich toasted, tell them! They toast everything! We always get the sweet tea but sometimes it's not made correctly and tastes just like unsweetened. I wish they'd bring back the Pot Roast spud. read more

It'd not really a deli. It's Panerra Bread knock-off. The place was busy...even so, the people working seemed a little unorganized. The manager's need to get more people to clean up. There seemed to be no one cleaning up the tables. I stood by a dirty table waiting for it to be cleaned for almost 5 minutes. I see staffing problems and a need for stronger management. The sandwiches were OK. I ordered a vegitarian sandwich. I was surprised that it didn't have beans sprouts on it (I should have read the menu better). I was also surprised that the sandwiche was so small. The portions for all the other sandwiches seemed large except for mine. The chicken tortilla soup was good. It had nice texture and a little heat at the end. So, the soup saved the day. I wonder if the soup is outta a jar or home made? read more

I had a delightful experience. Service staff was warm and friendly. Food came quick and was very tasty. I had the soup and sandwich, both were good. Even the water tasted nice and clean with no chlorine or hard mineral flavors. Restaurant and restrooms were virtually spotless. Decor was whimsical and fun, with lighthearted and upbeat music playing. There was plenty of seating, with a good mix of booths and tables, which the staff was proficient at keeping cleaned off as patrons depart. On my way out I spoke with the manager and complimented the food, staff, and overall experience. She was thrilled to hear my kind (and honest) words, and asked if it was my first time at a McAlister's (it was). She then said that no newcomer can leave without trying their chocolate chip cookies, and gave everyone in my party a large tasty cookie, on the house. I'm impressed, and hope to return. read more

2 years ago I would come here regularly and always be pleased with my experience. Something has changed recently. The pickle bar is no longer available. Sat down, waiting thirty minutes for our meal. Only to find they didn't bring my husbands which was a Caesar salad. Wait for my husbands meal to come out then we begin to eat but before we do he spots a hair in my salad. He asked for extra dressing on the side, it came on a soggy salad they brought out later which looks as though it had been back there the whole time. The chicken salad I ordered had seriously less than half the chicken that regularly comes on it. Which that can be looked at as nit picky but when we order our food a chicken salad on croissant/side salad and a chicken Caesar salad and the total is $25 for what is basically fast food you should be pleased with the plate. The hair being in the food was the last straw and we took out plates to the counter for our money returned. Manager understood and gave us our money back. this place is absolutely insane. all of the workers are rude. their kids cookies are always burnt and taste like burnt oven, causing my kids to blow our toilet up. ive found multiple hairs in my food. ive found a caterpillar in my salad. workers are always high and have seen multiple workers outside smoking. this girl named shelby gave me a disgusting ass look and over charged me on my sweet tea. my order is always wrong and cold. on top of that, ive asked multiple times for gluten free bread because i am terribly terribly terribly allergic and have yet to see a slice of gluten free bread. this other worker named steve, he's tall and skinny, has vaped so many times on the patio right in front of my children. the same worker was in his red durango smacking a girl as i was leaving the parking lot, and when my kids and i were eating, i saw him slip 20's in his pocket. most of these workers look miserable and look like they have been crying all day, i feel bad for the good ones. yall should be ashamed. cannot believe the management would allow this. will never be back, after multiple attempts of trying to give this store a chance. absolutely disgraceful and disgusting. if there was a choice for a 1/10 of a star i would not even give that. read more

Today while I was in to eat at the I saw my favorite girl! I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Pam Dart was in fact running your Kokomo McAlister's. I was so happy to see her. I have watched her since her Texas Roadhouse days. Hiring Pam was the smartest thing McAlister's has ever done. I don't know a soul that has ever met Pam and not loved her.
