Nothing special here. I've made much better tasting food at home. Poor service and very slow getting the food out. Not going back.

It also came with the infamous Hawaiian Mac salad, but it was salty to me. Keeping it in the container with the warm food didn't do it any favors. Is Hawaiian Mac salad typically warm? If so, not a fan. Molokai Chicken: chicken was tender, again a deep flavor but the spice it promised was not present - same sides as the other dish. Definitely tasty, we would go back to try other dishes and choose two rice or try the veggies. Plenty of parking if you want to dine in. 3 1/2 stars but rounding up instead of down.

The Hixson location leans heavily into a "fast-casual plus" aesthetic. It is bright, clean, and…read moreunmistakably tropical without feeling kitschy. The interior features bold teals and warm wood accents, creating an energetic, efficient environment. While it's designed for high-volume throughput, the open layout and upbeat island soundtrack make it a pleasant spot for a quick sit-down meal. It avoids the cluttered feel of many local diners, opting instead for a streamlined, digital-forward atmosphere that prioritizes speed and cleanliness. Service at the Hixson branch is notably consistent. The staff manages the "island pace" well--meaning they are friendly and welcoming--while maintaining the rapid-fire efficiency required for a busy lunch rush. Orders are typically ready within minutes of being placed, either via the kiosks or the front counter. Our order was out in less than 6 minutes after it was placed. The menu is a masterclass in "doing a few things perfectly." The core of the menu is the plate lunch: two scoops of white rice, one scoop of macaroni salad, and a protein. Huli Huli Chicken is the signature dish. The chicken is grilled over an open flame and glazed with a sweet, savory teriyaki-style sauce. The Hixson location hits the mark on the char--providing those slightly caramelized edges that balance the sweetness of the pineapple-infused glaze. For those who prefer a bit of heat, my wife chose the Molokai Chicken. It uses the same tender thigh meat as the Huli Huli but introduces a spicy pepper profile. It's a "creeping" heat--not overwhelming at first, but it builds beautifully against the neutral backdrop of the white rice. In Hawaii, the "mac salad" can make or break a plate lunch. Hawaiian Bros serves a version that is creamy, heavy on the mayo, and purposefully soft. It is the essential cooling element that gives the Molokai chicken its spice. No visit to the Hixson location is complete without the Dole Soft Serve. It is dairy-free, gluten-free, and incredibly refreshing. The pineapple flavor is iconic, but if you want to level up, ask for a "twist" (if available) or simply enjoy the bright, acidic finish to a savory, protein-heavy meal. Our Final Verdict Hawaiian Bros Hixson brings a much-needed variety to the local food scene. It doesn't pretend to be fine dining; instead, it excels at serving high-quality, consistently comforting food with a tropical flair. It's an ideal spot for a reliable, flavorful lunch that feels slightly more "adventurous" than your standard burger or taco run. I recommended that you order the Large Molokai Chicken plate with an extra side of Mac Salad and a small Dole Soft Serve.

A very nice restaurant in the Chattanooga/Hixson area…read moreAubrey's restaurants is a popular East Tennessee chain that was founded in 1992 by a University of Tennessee graduate in West Knoxville. It started as a single neighborhood restaurant and has grown steadily. According to its website, and certainly from what I saw, it seems to focus on fresh, comforting American food and friendly service. Today there are about 14 locations across East Tennessee. We visited the Hixson location for a large family gathering. There is plenty of parking available, which made it easy for our group. It is a stand-alone brick building. The restaurant was clean and had a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. There are a lot of seating options for different size parties and both inside and out. The staff was pleasant and our waitress was awesome. She handled our large party very well and was very attentive. They also did a wonderful job accommodating our mobility-impaired family members. I got a burger and fries along with an iced tea. The food came out quickly. It was hot and delicious. Everything about the meal was good. Overall it was a great experience for our family gathering. I definitely recommend Aubrey's in Hixson to other travelers or families in the Chattanooga area looking for good food and friendly service.

Finally a place that cares about making healthy food! Everything here is seed oil free and organic…read more They don't give out plastic straws or plastic cutlery (so grateful for that!). There are tons of vegan options, and you don't have to look too hard for gf options if that's your jam. The store itself is packed with amazing health food items like mushroom coffee, shilajit, matcha, electrolytes, and so much more. They also have a refrigerated grab-and-go section with fresh juices, rice paper rolls, chia seed pudding, and a lentil casserole. The glass dessert case is full of vegan treats like peanut butter and chocolate cups, bliss balls, and donuts. The menu is extensive with tons of great organic vegan options. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich on sourdough (they also offer gluten-free and multigrain) with cashew cheese and a side of chili. I also got a beet juice, a lemon lavender muffin, chia seed pudding, and a decaf oat milk latte. The sandwich was pretty good. The bread seemed really fresh and I enjoyed the cashew cheese. The side of chili had a slight twist that elevated it above most regular chili recipes. It was good, but had a little too much corn for my taste personally. The beet juice was delicious and a generous portion. The desserts were just okay, but I appreciated that they weren't overly sweet and didn't have any weird ingredients. Honestly, it's just so nice knowing your food has no weird ingredients and everything is organic! The only downside was the coffee. Honestly, it was probably one of the worst I've ever had. Maybe it was just an off day or a mistake, I'm not sure. Everything else was good though! I would definitely recommend this spot. The decor is really cute and inviting. I love that they offer plenty of seating options too -- indoor, an enclosed outdoor patio, and an exterior exposed patio. Logistical Notes: Parking was super easy with a lot right out front. There are two accessible bathrooms for people with disabilities, and I love that they have a gender-inclusive restroom as well. You order at the register, they bring you your food, and then you bus your own "tray."

I switch between different proteins because there's so many different options. I've picked the Harissa Chicken, Grilled Chicken, and Falafel. I like doing the half and half and each of those proteins were delicious. They were juicy and not dry. The veggies tasted fresh, the sauces and proteins were flavorful and so tasty. Also I love how we can choose up to three different dips. I pretty much go for most of the toppings except avocado. And also the dressings!! I mix it up every time and the combinations have worked pretty well together, in harmony with everything in my bowl. It's hard to pick a favorite veggie for me because each one is so good, but I'll always get the pickled onions and fire roasted corn. For me, I have no complaints whatsoever. I always describe this place as a Chipotle but Mediterranean. I always get takeout so I can't comment on the ambiance inside. But ordering online is fairly simple and straight forward. This is one of my favorite places in the area to go and get food. Oh and also the juices are great too. I always get the Cucumber Mint Lime because it hits every single time, but I'd like to try their other juices too. I can't wait until the next time I come back here. Love you CAVA!

I absolutely loved the décor. The menu is extensive, and it was hard to choose just one thing, so my friend and I ordered two juices (Dope Beets & Let's Kick It Out) and two plates (the Grilled Pimento Panini and the Buddha Bowl) to share. The juices were phenomenal. Honestly, I would go back just for those. I really wanted to love the food, but unfortunately, it lacked flavor. I even ordered a cookie to try to redeem the meal, but that missed the mark as well. I felt especially bad because I brought a non-vegan friend and didn't want their first impression of vegan food to be a disappointing one, but sadly, that's how it turned out. That said, I'd be willing to return and try something different. Maybe it was just an off day, or perhaps the dishes we chose just weren't the best representation of the menu. I'd definitely come back for the juices, and I'm curious to try the smoothies too. Those might be a winner. I really want this place to thrive and wish them all the best! I really love their concept and support their mission 100%.
