    New Furnace with McAfee name brand and Service for Installers.  The same unit is $550 new from the wholesaler, sold to me for $5,000

    McAfee sold me Furnace system with complete system check for $4,700 11/2/2019. Failed to install rusted parts connected, water/mold no air flow. November 2, 2019, 6 months ago, I called McAfee for another followup service for my HVAC unit was still under warranty from prior service calls and I am a Family Comfort Gold Member. I am Permanently Disabled with oxygen required for my lungs are severely damaged due to industrial chemical exposure. Dust, mold, poor air quality, and extreme hot or cold temperatures is life threatening to me. This was explained to McAfee customer service Amy and Angie, Installers-Andy Roth, Jason James, Troy Dobbs prior to Installation scheduled 11/6/2019. My service and dispatch call was by Andy Roth 11/2/2019. My McAfee Gold Comfort Guaranteed Service was charged and my entire HVAC system was to be serviced and replacement parts and labor included with my $4700 paid in full on installation 11/6/2019. No air/heat was coming out of the vents. The new McAfee brand Furnace was to remedy the failure of the Furnace to provide any movement of air. After the installation both on the top of my furnace replacement and bottom connections duct work in the crawl space below. The rusted sheet metal was brought to the installers attention and was promised it would be replaced as it is common problem (see photo taken Today May 26,2020). I was provided a warranty of 10 year parts, 3 year labor, and 20 year Heat Exchange warranties by McAfee product and Services. April 25, 2020 Call McAfee 937-438-1976 and information left with McAfee as severe problem with no heat or air coming out of vents while furnace is on. I expressed my medical needs, dust and foul air was exiting the vents with no heat. I repeated that I am under warranty from 6 months ago and problem is severe, emergency level. Customer has Severe Lung disability with recent installation and Gold Membership Comfort monthly paying $19.95. April 26, 2020 I made another call to McAfee 937-438-1976. similar info provided again. Spoke with Amy and Angie May 1, 2020 McAfee 937-438-1976 called by me again with similar info needed help. Spoke with Angie May 2,2020 Saturday, I called McAfee 937-438-1976 again and expressed my needs, warranty, and lack of interest in customer satisfaction to Angie, I wanted to speak with Greg McAfee and deal with this severe problem and my medical condition. No contact to or from Greg McAfee and appointment for service call set up on May 4, 2020. May 4. 2020 Dispatch 261817 Troy Dobbs arrived and examined the compressor of the air conditioner. My calls were all regarding the warranty for the furnace and no air blowing out of the vents. I have been coughing and spitting dirt out of my lungs, see photo of dirty crawl space open to the heated air mixing to the house vents. May 5, 2020 Another service tech dispatched and Observed the new furnace and stated it was working fine, but no air was coming out and very dusty. May 7, 2020 Dispatch 261951 Christopher Bryant service tech noted that the sheet metal below the furnace was rusted and hanging with large 1 foot by 1 foot hole expelling all heated air, from the McAfee new furnace installation 6 months ago, it was apparent that the installers duct taped the sheet metal as duct tape is seen in photos and in crawl space attached to the rusted sheet metal below the new furnace. McAfee has collected $4700 and $19.95 monthly for Gold Service membership that was not appropriately installed, serviced, replaced, nor honestly shared with me, the customer. I have had 2 Emergency room visits and 1 hospitalization for severe lung infection and particles spitting up when coughing up the dirt from my crawl space. I trusted Greg McAfee to perform as advertised, warranty, guaranteed per my installations and service agreements paid. This has been communicated to Angie and the service techs. Friday May 8, 2020 Angie advised me that McAfee would not accept any Service Calls to my house or myself. This is not a Maintenance issue, this should have been addressed and fixed when new furnace was installed on 11/6/2019. Consumer's Desired Resolution: The resolution is very simple, that McAfee provide the product and service. Proper repair and replace the parts and labor I need this fixed for my health, safety, and comfort. McAfee can pay a capable contractor that estimates can be provided, if required. Due to the excess calling, waiting, and lack of service, I have been hospitalized for lung infections and spitting up dirt and dust that was not a problem in my home before McAfee installed the new furnace improperly. During this desperate time of my need I have paid and been patient, the company has taken advantage of me financially, my disability, and complete disrespect with regards to a customer and their own contract agreements. I do not know how McAfee is able to provide Business Expertise, Commercials on TV for excellence in service and treat disabled a

My wife has asthma and other breathing issues as well as an aneurism. This unit was supposed to help alleviate her breathing issues on very hot and/or cold days. This has been nothing short of a fiasco. Minutes after the technician left, it began leaking water all over the floor. The tech 'forgot' to check the drain hose and had to come back out to repair it within hours. Only days later, we had to call them back out because it ceased to cool during one of the hottest days of the year. After sending multiple technicians, it was determined that all the coolant had leaked out because of an improper flange installation on the outside unit. The next issue was a faulty flange on the inside unit which, again, leaked coolant. After that repair, it still has failed to work, this time when we tried to heat the room during the recent cold spells. Same story, no coolant, only this time supposedly a manufacturing defect. After six months of this, I'm still waiting for some kind of resolution. After weeks of inquiries as to the status of the repairs/replacement, I can't get them to return my phone calls despite repeated promises to do so.

    After installing a new furnace and a/c we had to call barker on an ongoing basis because the…read morethermostat would not maintain the selected temperature it would vary by up to 6 degrees, every time they came out they collected a service fee and gave us excuses as to why we had to accept this. Also the whole house humidifier they had installed didn't add enough humidity to the air. Finally after a few years of this I contacted another HVAC person and they discovered that the humidifier was never installed correctly, it was set at such a high point that it would never turn on. Then had a different company do a thorough system check and they found multiple issues with our system that Barker had never found. And after the service technician from the new company perform a complete diagnostic I realized that Barker never sent a real technician to our house to check the system. It seems as though every one that came out had worked with someone who was knowledgeable about hvac but they didn't have the skills or training to actually service the units themselves that they sold us. After all this I realized that barker havc should not be in business. I put in one final call to ask when the warranty on our system expired but never got a return call. Final thoughts: I would avoid Barker heating and a/c at all costs and I also learned .from a neighbor that they had dropped Barker a long time ago. There are a few good HVAC companies out there but Barker is not one.

Nothing but exceptional service and professionalism…read more I called yesterday at 8am because our heater (which was barely hanging on for quite some time) finally called it quits sometime in the middle of the night. Ron and Ben were at my door at 930 ready to go. Both were very friendly from the start and understanding when it came to discussing my options and prices and my need to call my husband before making a choice. I called later in the afternoon to agree to the new furnace option that fit our budget and they were able to schedule installation for the next day. I was also offered space heaters to borrow while we waited which I thought was a nice touch and just solidified my opinion that I'd chosen the right company. The entire time Ben and Ron were here working they were extremely friendly and approachable and nice to my kids and crazy dog as well. They even cleaned the evaporator coil to the ac because I mentioned it wasn't working well and they saw it was covered in dust. I was blown away by them going the extra mile when they didn't have to at all. It's never fun to spend money on household repairs but it's much easier giving that money to a company that does great work coupled with excellent service. I will only ever call Solar Flare for any future HVAC needs and recommend them to all friends and family in the future! I should also mention the price of our new furnace was affordable and easily 1k less than what we expected to spend. Thanks for the amazing work, Ron and Ben!

    Beware! SF came out to trouble shoot a HVAC unit that was not heating. Their tech came back with a…read more$9k quote because the unit required replacement: "FURNACE 3O YEARS OLD AND GAS VALVE IS BAD ) COST TO INSTALL 40K BTUH TEMPSTAR. GAS FURNACE MODEL # N92ESN0401412A WITH 1.5 TON A/C MODEL # R4A5S18AKANA WITH CASED EVAPORATOR COIL." I sent another company to gut check this, and $119 later, this is what they found: "Upon diagnostics of the system, it appears the gas valve does not need replaced nor does the hvac system. The flame sensor was checked, the drain was cleared, pressure switch terminals were oxidized; cleaned them. The actual issue found, was that the gas cock that supplied gas to the furnace, was almost in the "OFF" position. This can cause failure to ignite due to not enough gas flow. We turned the cock all the way open and the furnace fired on every time." Edit: The owner contacted me and expressed his regrets and stressed that this was a misunderstanding. I'll take him at his word. YMMV.
