Would not recommend, unless you want to be upsold and overcharged. They installed a new sump pump for $1000 four years ago. Our sump pump recently had issues, and they tried to upsell us for a $3000 battery back up sump, which is completely unnecessary for our unfinished sump area. When I declined that option, the technician informed me the issue was the check valve. He explained the check valve they installed previously was cheap and unreliable, and what I needed was a $400 replacement check valve. Based on our experience, their work is unreliable and they'll price gouge you at every opportunity. On a positive note, they are very responsive and timely. Quick, next day service (online request after 5pm). Thorough inspection of the problem, with new unit installed the day after first visit. Technicians arrived promptly in the morning after announcing they were on the way. The old unit was replaced and hauled away before noon. I got a standard 40 gal water heater and I believe the quality is better than the contractor special that I just replaced. I believe that I got good value for the money, even though it wasn't a cheap water heater. read more

He used his video scope to show us in real time what was happening inside the line and carefully assessed whether any damage had occurred. He did not stop there. He walked the property to locate the second access point and even had us run water tests to help determine the situation. part of last problem that was partially resolved, was free ac tune up, set for a month later. That was yesterday 4/14/2026 5 hour window. no call no show. i reached out to numbers again, and always get the recording for nothing i need help with. i remebered i had a text from the guy helped me last time. i texted him 10 minutes after the 5 hr window, to let him know failed again. wasnt intrested in rescheduling either, waste of my time. amazing within 10 miutes that now 22 mintes past 5 hr window, i get call from one of techicans, were running behind, and your next. i said gonna be her in next 30 minutes, prior to 6 that would be. he said no be about an hour but be there. i said NOPE! i said thanks but no thanks. I thinks my text went thru and he got called about it and then hes calling me almost 30 minutes later after waiting all day at house. Lately I have used 5 different Plumbing companies. Three were good and two that promised quick service were not. I have learned to always get more than one quote. The job was to replace a broken pipe between the well and the house. It involved cutting up the concrete patio. They also replaced the little galvanized plumbing we had left and put in a new pressure tank. What I particularly liked about Five Star was the quality of work and that fact that they had a person, Jacob, that followed up and made sure that work progressed and was done to my satisfaction. I view that as a good quality control. I also liked the fact that they were the lowest cost by far. Would recommend that to any friends. read more

Our basement flooded with 2 feet of water and took out our hot water heater, dehumidifier, and a motor in the furnace. They replaced all that and rerouted the new sump pump to the street after digging a deeper pit for it in the basement. All the work took 4 days. Each day I received an email or text notifying who was coming that day, a photo, and brief bio of each worker. Very professional!!!! Everyone was respectful and cordial. Classy outfit! Almost forgot...one of the men went and got me a new humidifier and hooked it to drain into the sump pump. read more

Bought an entire home A\C system, in fact two, one for my upstairs and one for my downstairs to the tune of $20k. The purchase/install occurred in spring some time so not too hot nor too cold. The entire install team seemed ok while the work was going on. There is a former Marine who is stellar, so this review does not apply to him. The install team wrapped up and "tested" everything said it was all ok. Fast forward to fall and my thermostat went blank so I call them back for help. They send a guy out and his first move is to take a picture of my air filter, obvious attempt to void my warranty. Good thing I'm on top of it and it was just replaced. After hours of testing he found the issue with the thermostat and fixed that, but found that my downstairs unit NEVER WORKED. The wires to the house were broken causing the system to not have the correct wiring to work. Since the wires, that they broke because my previous unit worked, were from the house to their unit the warranty didn't cover it. The technician then tells me that he can install a Bluetooth unit for an additional $1500 and would do a temporary fix. Did not opt for that. Net, this company isn't trustworthy as far as A/C units go. Look elsewhere. read more

Tankless water heater quit working called for repair. Said it would be $99 for service call. Came out and said nothing wrong with heater and to call Columbia gas. They did nothing to repair but charged my credit card over $300. I called Columbia Gas, they sent tech who said Gas line was fine and that appeared the unit was bad. I still have no hot water and have paid over $300 with still no idea what the problem is. I called them because their add specifically indicated they have experience with tankless heaters. read more

Horrible experience with this company. We had a new furnace installed less than 2 years ago. It went out on Thursday, called immediately, and was told the best they could do was Tuesday. Due to the temperature being negative all week I questioned why this wouldnt be an emergency 24/hr call out, they said all they could do was put us on an 'urgency' list. I called back the next day and magically they were able to move my appointment up to Sunday, still unacceptable in negative temperatures but better than Tuesday, however not sure why they didn't reach out to move my appointment if there was an opening. Fast forward to Sunday, technician came out, diagnosed the problem, however do to being a Sunday he couldn't get the part to fix it unless we paid a $150 fee to 'open the store' to see if they even had the part -no guarantee. We elected to wait until Monday and the technician said the would reach out Monday morning. After not hearing anything Monday we called for an update and they said they would either call or be out on Tuesday at 9am. By 10 am Tuesday we still hadn't heard anything, we called again for an update and was told the technician was in a meeting with the manager and they are sorry they overlooked that but they would be reaching out. read more

After the sale support and honoring follow-ups need to greatly improve if not too late already. 5-Star needs to watch their 6 as other companies are coming for whatever market share they have (Ace, CJS and Eco come to mind). 5-Star's support following Sales and Installation will cost them significantly, which is likely happening already (don't see many of their vehicles anymore).
