I had been looking for a particular car online for weeks. I mostly checked out Craigslist. Late one night when I couldn't sleep, I jumped on AutoTrader and, just like that, there was a good car. I checked the value at NADA Guides and confirmed it was fairly priced. I looked through the photos and the car looked good. The mileage was low for its age and, as far as I could tell, there were no red flags. I slept on it and then went back to AutoTrader to confirm what I remembered. I wrote an email to the seller, MB Motors, and arranged my schedule to visit for a look and drive. I didn't get a response to my email, but headed out on a work break. I met my sister at MB Motors, in a bit of a strange location, on a rural road attached to a gas station. We started checking out the car and found it looked as good as it did online. Moments after I arrived a salesman (Michael) came out with a board of car keys. I introduced myself and asked to have a look at the car. He welcomed us, told us someone had just called about the same car, and promptly got us the keys. We looked things over again, then Michael got a plate for my test drive. It was easy and quick to take a test drive, he offered directions for a good route with higher speed roads. When I got back, I was pretty sure I was going to buy the car, I just needed to get it checked out by a mechanic. I quickly called my mechanic, who couldn't check it out until the next day. I clarified with Michael that the car would not get sold out from under me if someone brought a check, was I first in line? Did I need to put down a deposit? We quickly reached an agreement that the car is mine. I assured Michael that I would keep him updated as I moved through the process. I returned the next morning to pick-up the car, Michael was there. It took a minute to get a copy of the Purchase Order (required for the bank financing) I had requested the day before, but I was on my way shortly. I'll cut to the quick, the mechanic inspection went great, I went to the bank to get a check. I drove out to MB Motors and closed the deal. Michael had all the final paperwork ready to get me on my way in 20 minutes. In all, I spent less than an hour at MB Motors to complete this purchase, a significant improvement over other car sellers. Michael was great to work with. Friendly, honest, and willing to work with me to get the deal done. The used car business can be sketchy, I've read the other Yelp reviews, luckily I had the vehicle checked before I bought it (GET YOUR VEHICLE CHECKED BEFORE BUYING), $100 could save you thousands. UPDATE!!!! If you're looking to dump off a JUNKER, you found the right place. They'll take it. Original post: My boyfriend and I worked with William Hosier, he was very professional. William had us in and out of the dealer as fast as possible, made the whole experience very fast and easy! DO NOT SHOP WITH THESE CONMEN. PLEASE do yourself a favor, make them run a computer diagnostic in front of you before you buy or bring your own and get in and under that hood. Less than 3 weeks later we need to replace the transmission. They take whatever they can in to resell, clear the codes and resell as fast as possible. They put as little money into the vehicles they resell as possible and I get that wanting to save money on the turnaround but SCREWING people over on a MAJOR purchase is GARBAGE. All they could offer was their insurance package for thousands extra. No thanks won't even look at that place driving by let alone step foot on that property ever again. Now we know why they make the whole process so fast. Save your self the time, money, and effort to just say absolutely not to Mount Baker Motors. If you ever test drive their vehicle make sure you run and drive them hard on your test drive so you can feel anything and everything wrong with the vehicle because there is always going to be something. (They also charged him within three weeks of the purchase for an inspection of the engine and transmission. The transmission was leaking. They put fluid in there and charged him for that as well. Guess where that fluid ended up leaking, all over their DANG parking lot WHAT FRICKIN IDIOTS. AGAIN: HE DID NOT ASK FOR THIS SERVICE. He originally only went in for a part replacement that they owed him from when we purchased (that's a totally separate thing)) MB motors do it right and these type of reviews won't have to be left. If you want to be so pushy at the time of purchase about writing a review, make sure your vehicles are worthy of a good one first. Fix your vehicles the right way the first time and people will be returning customers. Unfortunately just not the case here. We've owned this van for +/- 15 months now, driven it under 3,000 miles since it's a camping vehicle to us. In my initial review, I noted that the vehicle wouldn't start, and the sales rep said a new battery was installed. I also noted that the battery had no in service date so it was hard to confirm it was new. Guess what! I had to replace the battery last week. 1. 15 month battery life 2. About 3,000 miles of use 3. Started and used for local errands several times per month to ensure no deterioration due to lack of usage I've also spent money replacing rear shocks, tail light clusters and more, on top of the tire issue I initially described. BTW, the headlights were also miswired, one low and one high beam wired to each switch position so you never got 2 low beams. If you've read this thread, the company owner replied that they "stand behind their vehicles". I asked in response if that implies they will cover my costs. No answer. If I could save anyone a lot of time and a huge headache DO NOT work with these scam artists! My fiancé and I drove an hour and a half up to trade in our car and purchase a car through MB Motors. After three hours of negotiating with Emil we came to an agreement on a trade in value for our current vehicle and a price on the vehicle we would be purchasing. One funny thing about the negotiating process was Emil would yell over to the other salesman and say "are you sure you don't have anyone else looking at this car." Reading the review responses here on Yelp I learned that the other salesman is the owner of MB Motors and is in on these greasy sales tactics! After we came to an agreement on numbers we made it clear that the purchase would be contingent upon us getting our own inspection especially since the check engine light came on during the test drive and I noticed a couple of other noises under the car. Immediately Emil tried talking us out of getting our own inspection and said they can do it in house(SCAM). When thought of us getting our own inspection came into the picture the whole tone of the conversation changed and red flags started going up. We made it clear that we wanted to get our own inspection done and we all agreed. We all shook hands and he said he would save the car for us. My fiancé and I left our trade in car with them and drove back home in our other vehicle. We called Emil the next morning to ask them if they could take the car to get inspected(which is 10 minutes away from MB Motors) since we don't live in the area. He told us he can't have the car off the lot for more than an hour because he has two other people that potentially wanted to buy it. If y'all know anything about car inspections, they take longer than an hour(more around 2-3 hours). Clearly there is a reason they don't want us to get this car inspected! I told Emil a man is only as good as his word referring to when he told us he was save the car for us since we came to an agreement and shook hands in which he replied "Not when you sell cars at a high volume." Please save yourself the trouble and read other reviews about MB Motors. Customer service is at the bottom of their priorities. read more

Full disclosure, I have not purchased a car here, but have seriously considered doing so twice in the last 6 months - and I do not mean to hammer a local business, but I do personally feel more strongly that fellow buyers need to beware of what I now know. Would be 1 star, but for the fact that Michael the salesman is a nice guy who listens and maintains a low-pressure demeanor. That counts for something. But wow, the 2008 Navigator that we came very close to buying, and what they did to keep its flaws out of the picture, is another story and that speaks to ownership/honesty culture. It started to feel a little awkward when we spotted a few things underneath and under the hood, and asked to take it a few days later to our shop. I was there with hundreds in an envelope to do the deed if all went well. But we will not shop again there a 3rd time. Bottom line, DO NOT buy from them until you have spent a couple of hours and a hundred bucks or so with your OWN mechanic to check out the vehicle with your best interest in mind. MB paints under-body rust with black spray paint, avoids talking about it unless you spot it and mention it; and while "No reported accidents" on a CarFax is fine, there can be plenty of shoddily-repaired damage that was simply not reported but will still be yours to live with. Pick through the details of the CarFax for hints at things yourself (Where did it come from? How many owners? How long did it live on the salty roads of Edmonton, perhaps?). And then have a mechanic who you trust look carefully at things. Find all of the sanded and repainted rust areas. Maybe pieces of plastic left in the front bumper area from an amateur repair job. Question why they would flip it to you with 6% engine oil life left, a leaky front tire, a dry serpentine belt that needs replacement, certainly new spark plugs needed at 86,000 miles...at least those kinds of things that dealerships would normally take care of so that you drove off of the lot with a sweet runner that you would brag about. But rust everywhere never sleeps, and along with $1,500 or so in initial services just to get it to a square running level that you would want for your own rig are enough to squash any deal. I would have loved to be driving that luxury SUV today and write a great review about a local dealership that made me a good deal. But a pesty thing called reality got in the way. Shop there at your own risk, and absolutely reduce that risk by spending the smartest first $100 on your own professional inspection. read more

purchased here and man I got screwed. I bought a 2008 Nissan Xterra and asked if anything was wrong or if it had been inspected. No way this car was actually looked at Properly! Several costly issues have came about such as the timing chain which I asked about and of course was told "oh ya our guys looked at it." Ya of course they did. It needs work done to the beautiful noise of over 1,300. You make me pay over sticker don't budge at all for this kindve crap. No integrity whatsoever. I talked to Chris who seems like he cares but stay away from Michael idk what that guys problem is but this is not how you do business. And oh ya after driving two hours then he mentions "oh ya back door don't work" turns out that is another 700 issue. Man it just keeps getting better. I will be reporting this to the BBB as well and any other online review site I can get my hands on. I am not happy. At all. And of course was not told anything about the rust. Man I got burned. UPDATE: less than 1000 miles later now it needs an ECM stay away from this place. Both catalytic converters needed to be replaced. read more

The issue was present at the time of the sale, which is the only way it could have been listed on the Due Bill. *You did not outsource the work to a vendor to accommodate me. I had to drive to Seattle to meet YOUR vendor, who could not complete the repair. You THEN offered to have another vendor perform the job in my area, but I do not have a vendor in my area. *Your repair person DID attempt the repair within 30 days of the Due Bill being issued. It has taken longer than 30 days to resolve this issue because of the lack of communication on your part. I never get a return call when I leave a message with your staff. As expected, I got a faster response from social media than I have from attempting to contact you directly. The only reason this has taken so long is because of your lack of communication. *I absolutely offered to let you have the vehicle to get the repairs completed, but asked that you come pick up the car and return it once the repairs were completed. This seems like a reasonable request. If it was too much for you to handle, you could mention that. Your response to my request to have the vehicle picked up and have you complete the repairs was "Sorry, I can't help you", as if you are doing me a favor. Your lethargic response to this issue has been noted by myself, the WA Attorney General's office and the Better Business Bureau. Please contact me to get this repair work done. You have my info. Otherwise, my next step is to serve you with some papers. read more

I called a few days later and the dealer told me the car was sold! Scummy and unethical business practices by this dealership! Would not recommend. read more

I arrive there this morning Friday May 18th 2018 looking at a red F150 that I have been looking at for a few weeks I arrived educated and familiar with what I was looking at only to find that it's through codes about airbags that they wouldn't acknowledge nor does the lights even come on on the dash which means there's a system problem or an electrical problem it was rusted through and through on the back of the back seats which means there was a leak at some point in the windows it would not accelerate very well past 65 without a very loud vibration on the gas pedal and the RPM's would hesitate at 2200 and would not kick into that last gear I knew what I was talking about I was willing to negotiate yet when I return the vehicle and explain the issues he simply folded his arms and we're talking about the salesman Mike let's be clear treated me as though I wasn't even standing there didn't want to negotiate didn't want to talk about the issues in the vehicle that to me is bad salesmanship and that means they are hiding more than they like to tell you about I would not recommend this facility to anyone read more

Misled is what we can say about this busines. We live in California and have been looking for a Porsche Cayanne GTS for some time and saw this car online. It looked exactly like what we wanted for a porsche. At the time the reviews we had read were all excellent. We were told no scratches, no dents, no leaks and that it had been inspected by their shop. New brakes, wipers replaced, turn signal light replaced, all in all a nice great running vehicle. Sight unseen, we purchased the vehicle and boy was that a mistake. We were lied to from the start between Crescent, George, and Michael communication seemed to be a big problem. Since we have gotten it, we have found a $2000 oil leak, two jack covers one on each, are missing, they are $100 each, and the radiator is filled with dark brown fluid. I have been given the runaround just to ask them if they will help us out with the costs of the jack covers, and still no answer yes or no or too bad, you bought it, as is. Had the nerve to tell me look at the pics for the jack covers. Well looking at the pics, the covers were there, so where are they now??? It cost us $1150 just to ship it, which we were also misquoted on as well. The back end has a big 3 inch scratch on it, two half inch rips on the back of the driver's seat also. They all said call back anytime, any questions let them know, well they do not return calls, so why even say that. I bought a truck from these guys came in test drove it seamed alright my only concern was that there was a small oil leak from the back of the engine. I addressed that with them they told me that they service all the vehicles and inspect them and that there is no leak. I asked the guy that did all the paperwork after I signed everything now that I bought it is there anything wrong with it he said no I would sell it to my relative.On the way back from the dealer the truck stalled, lost all power. I pulled over and tried to restart, it started and I was able to keep going. Before getting home I realized it has a vibration that starts after shifting into 4th gear around 45 mph and further while slowly accelerating. Also before I even got home it was making rattling noises like something was loose in the suspension and about to fall apart. Since they had me sign like 3 pieces of paper saying that the vehicle is as is and no warranty and with only 70k miles I thought OK I better try to get it fixed. I took it to LesSchwab to get the suspension looked at and diagnosed., They told me my ball joints were bad and needed replacing i spent $625.21 getting the ball joints replaced. This solved the clunking and the rattling but the vibration didn't go away. I also noticed oil leaking from the back of the engine and was concerned so i took it to Sound Diesel. They told me that i will need a new head gasket and block to get machined. This will cost me $4000 dollars. And that the vibration is probably a bad carrier bearing. After that I contacted the dealer and told them about my disappointments. They told me that they had no idea and cant do anything.I didn't have that kind of money and wanted a second opinion so i took it to North West Custom Diesel for a diagnosis. They looked at it and also found oil leaking from the glow plug wire harness $170.98 to replace. And that the truck is low on power and has a turbo that is going out and needs to be replaced $1533 to replace. The truck is also missing one seat belt clip in the back and the other one doesn't latch. For 70k miles this truck has way too many issues ranging from engine to suspension. I checked car-fax it says there are odometer discrepancies and that it was a lease vehicle. I read reviews that people buy these take off the cluster and lease them till like 300k then put them back and trade them for top dollar this would explain my issues. Since then also noticed the breaks vibrating while breaking and clunking after releasing the breaks. Also while turning to the right the front passenger wheel makes clunking noises. I replaced the carrier bearing as an attempt to fix the vibration and the drive shaft u-joints with no help. Had the rotors spun. Replaced the wheel hub. The clunking is still there. The truck is nothing but issues no power and just falling apart on me. I hate ruining someones reputation but I tried reaching out to the businesses and tried going to Better Business Bureau and there is nothing i can do because i signed the AS IS papers. read more

I first contacted this establishment last week on a Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Steve an employee there seemed trustworthy I was inquiring about a vehicle at their lot that I was interested in. He explained to me their process and that I should use their website to submit an pre approval application and so I did. I numerously times had to follow up with Steve. He said he would call at a certain times and did not. I had to follow up for the most part. Come to find out the vehicle he promised he would work with for me now is Stated as SOLD on their website. I have contacted Steve to even find out if we would qualify and yet it seemed like he was ignoring my calls and sending them to voicemail. If thats the type of quality customer care the least he could have done is have the courtesy to call and let me know I did not qualify and that the interest vehicle had been sold. Such a waste a time and therefore do not recommend people to do anything by phone. Had I lived closer to Bellingham I would personally go there. So Steve thanks for nothing. read more
