Chris Heston forgot to pick up my tiny home on wheels at 1:00 on April 28th. When I called at 1:30, the guy who answered the phone said he'd call me back. He said I was definitely on their books. He called back to say that Chris had forgotten. He said he could be at my place by 3:00. When he arrived around 3:20, there was no apology whatsoever. In fact, he said he couldn't tow me with my 3.5 ft porch cover. I told him we'd already scouted the route. He was surly and I was devastated and then angrier than I can remember being in a very long time. He told me to "take a pill." I told him at least I had a brain; he made some other retort, but I had already gotten into my tiny. I called ASAP towing and they moved my tiny the following Wednesday and said since the overhang didn't extend past 12 ft (my tiny is 8.5 feet wide), it was completely legal to tow my tiny home with the porch awning on. I had lined up numerous people to help me get set up at my new location on April 28th and Chris ended up costing me a LOT of money because those people were not available on May 1st. I will never, ever do business with this company again and I suggest you don't either. read more

I had to call AAA when my car went dead and had to be towed. This was due to the shop that did my oil change now making sure all my oil wouldn't leak back out! I have had the misfortune of needing the services of towing companies more than I would like to admit. Heston Hauling is by far the best and most knowledgable and personable towing company that I have ever experienced. Their drivers are also mechanics and on two separate occasions I have been able to avoid a tow because the Heston drivers knew how to get my car started again. They are always very friendly and non-judgemental and they got the job done extremely fast. They never try to sell me any unwanted services and I am just so grateful for their professionalism and expertise. I hope that I never need another vehicle towed but if I do I will most definitely call Heston. They are amazing! read more

On Dec. 5th I had my van break down. Unfortunately when I called AAA, they contacted Hestons's Towing. a major mistake. Their driver, Brandon, showed up hours late, did not make the 20 minutes advance note of arrival call I was promised, and tried to make me ride in the passenger seat of my van on his trailer while towing my powerless vehicle in freeziing weather. He was inconsiderate, unsafe, and unprofessional. Between my call to AAA and his delivery to a local auto repair yard, over 6 hours transpired, culminating with him leaving me (I'm a disabled mature citizen) at 9:30 p.m. at the closed repair business 5 miles from home, to start walking. No effort was made by that employee to deal with that issue. I wrote this in more detail, but it is in the more interesting "not recommended" section of the reviews. To get a true feel of things, read the 30 "not recommended" reviews. Heston's clearly years ago was a great company, now not so much. I called at 8:30am to have a vehicle picked up at 12pm. I have used Heaston numerous in past and have always receive great customer service from dispatch. That was not the case this time. Dispatch did not communicate with the driver till last minute so the driver did not arrive till 2:30pm. The driver was great, as they usually are at Heaston. But after he had gotten the vehicle all hooked up, he received a call from dispatch and had to unhook the car for a priority call. I will probably pay the difference and go through ASAP Towing. Again, the driver was friendly and was great to deal with, dispatch was not. read more

I've only every used these guys through AAA. Twice now I've had to get my car jump started. First time: They took the whole hour to arrive, but they did find me in my complicated little apartment complex parking lot. The dude was not sketchy, thankfully. I've had experiences, where you're like yaaaa... you used to steal cars and now you're "legit" and working for a AAA endorsed company... Anywho. The dude was very thorough. For battery issues they have this nice diagnostic tool that can tell you all about the battery, how well its holding a charge and its remaining life expectancy. At this time, we didn't need a new battery, we were still %60 within expected operations, had to drive 30 miles to crank up the charge and should be good to go. FFW six months later: The car dies again... boo. I think this time it took dude 45 mins to show up. This time they came with a new replacement battery. I don't know if it was because I was a repeat, but same thing, ran the diag, battery is ok... can jump start and you can drive up and crank up the charge... up to you dear customer if you want to replace the battery... I said hell's yes. Being stuck on the side of the road sucks. Again, this was all arranged via AAA, but Heston's battery price and install was cheaper than what the dealership and local shops were quoting me. Quick efficient and again totally non sketchy dude. The company gets kudos, for employee safety. Both times they guys were decked out in hi-vis reflective gear. Sometimes you don't see this and its a horrible risk for the employees who are helping people on the side of the road. read more

Highly recommend the generosity of the guys at Heston Hauling. After locking myself out of my car at the end of Mt. Baker HWY I quickly realized that I could be in some trouble with 23 degree and dropping temperature and all my warm gear locked inside the car. Thanks to RJ for quickly making it to my car and unlocking it for me. I was able to get home and warm up next to the a fire. Couldn't thank RJ at Heston Hauling enough. Right after crossing the border from Canada, I encountered my first ever stalled car situation. Fortunately, I bought the roadside assistance service from Progressive. I called the toll-free number and they arranged for Heston to take my car to the Firestone in Bellingham. I was not amused that I would have to wait a hour by the side of I-5 for help to arrive, but given that it was Sunday and all I wanted was to make it back to Bellevue, I was in no mood to complain. The tow truck arrived on time and they were able to arrange for a truck that was able to carry three people, rather than the standard two. The tow truck came on time as promised and the actual towing process from start to finish was simple and very professional. I did also appreciate the cool and collected way that everything was handled. It helped keep the ordeal from being more stressful than it already was. All in all, I had a great experience with Heston aside from the waiting. read more

I called to let someone know I had gotten a ride home because I didn't feel safe sitting in my car on the side of I-5 with cars flying past at 70+ mph and so I wouldn't be with the car. The owner answered my call and when I gave him my update he treated me with the condescension of an indignant adolescent. These guys are my saviors. On a road trip to Canada we got a tire blow out on the freeway. They made it quick and got us to a tire shop that was open a half hour before they closed. Not to mention everybody we talked to on the phone and in person was extremely professional. The woman at the front counter (smoking inside their office) was beyond rude to my husband and me when we picked up our vehicle from their lot this week. The driver was polite and had to put up with her rudeness to him as well. Not sure what's going on at this business, but the office employee is clearly miserable in her job and feels the need to pass that on to the customer and fellow employees. My truck engine died and I was able to stop it into a parking lot. Brandon came to help me and my truck turned on again fine, he questioned if I needed towing and I figured I if drove again it would die, I ask him to follow me and on one of the busiest intersections in Bellingham, Telegraph and Meridian, it dies again on me and he honks at me as if I'm intentionally slowing; has to pull up next to me for me to show him the gas doesn't go. We get it down the road with the attitude of a complete asshole, I also ask him if he can drive me and with the attitude of a complete prick says he can't, which is fine, it's like everything I was doing was inconveniencing this guy, I decided to follow him to the place where this fucking douche was taking my truck to make sure he did. Assholes like this shouldn't have customer service jobs, light up another cigarette on someone else's face on the job again buddy, I guarantee you'll get someone that minds eventually. I got a flat today while out running errands, I called Allstate, and they said they would dispatch a tow service, they hooked me up with Heston Hauling, and texted me an app where I could follow Heston's progress to my location! The app worked, and I could tell that as late in the day as it was that having the tire changed to my spare there in the parking lot would be my best option. I dug the spare out of the trunk and waited, at the 30 min mark from my initial call I got a call from Heston Hauling's driver confirming my exact location and giving me an updated ETA, he arrived shortly there after checked out my spare ( which was low on air LOL ) and pumped it up with the air compressor on his truck, he then installed it while I held the flashlight, double checked that all looked well, and was very pleasant and professional the entire time. I was the victim of a hit and run and the car was totaled and couldn't be moved off the road without a tow truck. The cop called for a tow and a guy from Heston showed up. I have a family member that lived ten minutes down the road who said I could have the car hauled there, was told by the truck operator it would be $280 to have it taken to my family members or it would be free to have it taken to impound. He said he was unsure of the impound fee. I couldn't afford the $280 and was still shaken up from the accident so decided, since it was "free", to have it taken to impound. Little did I know the tow truck driver lied. It somehow took him 3 hours to tow the car from the accident scene (sudden valley area) to Ferndale and it cost $280 and hour. So today not even 24 hours after being towed it's over $900 to get my car out of impound. It's really sad to feel like I was literally preyed on by this company to get my money, especially as a driver who was not at fault and the victim of a hit and run. read more

I had a situation that my car would not start. Initially I suspected that it was battery, but after a jump failed to do anything I figured it needed the repair shop and would have to be towed there. I arranged with my insurance company for the tow and the driver, Brandon Dean, from Heston Hauling/Towing showed up right on time. He asked what was the problem and said that he would try to get it started. His remote charger did not work so he hooked up cables to his truck and after three trys the car started. I really appreciated the service Brandon provided as well as his friendly attitude, and the fact that I did not have to pay the extra towing charge because of the distance to the shop. read more

These guys saved my bacon today and they were sooooo generous, helpful and courteous doing it. I had flown in from Bethel Alaska to pick up my RAV4 out of storage and the battery was just dead. They came sooo fast to my storage unit and got the car started then met me at my hotel about 35min later and popped in a new battery. All for an amazing reasonable cost. The woman who answers the phone/ works the front counter has terrible customer service skills and is rude and condescending, and to top it all off, the driver that towed the car stole the subwoofers out of my trunk. I am being generous in giving them one star. First off, almost three hours late to pick up my car and take it for repairs. Driver had serious attitude issues. Loaded car onto back of hauler and actually banged the rear of the car while doing so. This is, most decidedly, the most rotten towing service in the NW. This is the second time in six months that they not only not care to show up to tow a break down vehicle, but do not even have the courtesy to inform the customer of their ETA. The first time, after waitjng for TWO hours in pouring rain, I managed to locate another AAA provider who showed up in fifteen minutes flat. This time, an hour and forty five minutes later, am still waiting......and waiting....and waiting...... Am stunned that AAA continues to contract with such unprofessional, careless and irresponsible contractors. My advice? Tow your vehicle by hand, you will reach your destination faster. I only used Heston Hauling because they are used through AAA. This time around was not a good experience. I was told that my car would be towed to my requested location by 5:10 pm. The tow-guy called to let me know that he was on the way and that it would be an additional 30 minutes. He called around 4:45. This would have put him there by around 5:15. I was told by AAA that I didn't need to meet the tow-guy at my car which was AAA's fault (Heston needed my keys which were with me, NOT my car). After waiting until around 530 (I had called for the tow truck at 3), I got a call saying that I needed to be at my car since he needed the keys (makes sense, gotta put the car in Neutral). At this point I was already irritated for waiting so long so I requested that a manager from Heston call me back so I could report a complaint due to the long wait time. There was no expectations set regarding the time frame I had to wait which should have been provided. The problem I have isn't with the tow-guy. I yelled at him and he didn't deserve that. He was just doing his job. My problem is with the "manager" who called me. For starters she didn't ask me about what was going on but went straight into excuses such as "we are so busy on Mondays" How would I know that? Did anyone tell me that there was going to be a 2 hour wait? How would I have possibly known that? Her tone was not professional, she didn't provide any empathy or assurance that she was going to help and she interrupted me on numerous occasions. Within less than 4 minutes of talking to her she ended up cancelling my tow-truck even though I was on my way to meet the tow-guy at my car with my keys (I was less than a mile away). She said that I was being rude and that I needed to find a different way to tow my car. This resulted in me driving a very unsafe car to the mechanic. I could have handled the situation better myself and I take full responsibility for my behavior (getting sassy). However, I don't believe it's a good business practice to cancel someone's tow-truck just because of a disagreement or "rude customer". That's a petty and unprofessional way of handling a situation and I will definitely be contacting AAA to file another complaint against this business. I strongly recommend finding a different hauling service if possible. I've worked for a company that has received awards for their world-class customer service so I feel fully equipped to say that this business lacks common customer service skills. If a customer is escalated and upset the first thing you should do is listen to what they have to say before interrupting and failing to listen to the actual problem. Heston Hauling could use some crash courses on empathy and customer escalation. I'm sure they can find some good training videos on Youtube. I hope this review helps other people! read more

I called AAA and Heston Hauling was dispatched to take my truck from my home to the shop. Ken was the tow driver and he was super courteous and professional. It was a really windy day and unfortunately the tonneau cover snapped and blew off. Ken was really apologetic and assured me that he spoke with Chris, one of the owners, and that they would make certain that it was repaired to my satisfaction. They fixed the tonneau cover and the damage done to my truck with no hesitation. This event was unfortunate and an accident and they made sure that they made it right in every way. These are stand-up folks and I won't use anyone else from now on. They are people of their word and deserve my five stars plus! read more

My truck stalled while I was driving earlier today so I called roadside assistance to get towed from Bellingham to Lynden. The original ETA was an hour but the tow showed up in 35 minutes. The driver was friendly and quick to get my truck to the service shop and offered to bring me home from there if it wasn't too far out of his way. I chose to walk the two blocks but appreciated the offer. I've heard of Heston before because of their free New Year's Eve tows and rides home(much respect earned for that) but haven't had a need for their services until now. I'll definitely be using them for any future needs regardless of if road side assistance chooses them or not. read more

My daughter's truck wouldn't start due to a problem with the ignition (key wouldn't turn). Our mechanic gave us guidance and we tried everything, but to no avail. So we called Heston to tow it to our mechanic (bummer). Driver/Hauler Ken showed up and took the time to assess and help with the problem - apparently he has some expertise with ignitions...and he actually got the truck started!!! Thanks to Ken for saving the day (he was also, very courteous, professional and patiently educated us about how the ignition works & what needs to be repaired). I needed to tow my 2015 Porsche to Roger Jobs Motors in Bellingham from Mount Vernon. I called Porsche Roadside service to schedule my tow. From the time that Bill called me to advise his arrival time and to check what was wrong with my car so he was fully prepared to tow my car on his flat bed. He called again when he is 5 miles away. The compete process from hookup to drop off completely exceeded my expectations. It was done with outstanding professional skills to keep my car safe and securely on the truck. My wife came home 3 days ago and informed me that she'd had a 'low tire pressure' message on her drive home. When I checked, sure enough, one tire registered 0 pressure. So I called my insurance's roadside assistance and was told I'd be notified by txt what to expect next. Since the car was in our driveway, I settled down for a 1-2 hr wait -- no big deal. About 25 minutes after my initial call, a service truck from Hester was here, the tire was changed and the driver, who was very friendly and efficient, was on his way. Total elapsed time: 35 minutes. I think Hester also has a contract with AAA. Very impressed with the promptness, efficiency and courtesy. read more
