We come here quite a bit and this play is always so good. Had my usual trout dish and it is literally my favorite dish here. I get the steamed veggies and mashed potatoes and it's amazing and Healthy! My husband loves the burger and fries and it may sound weird but he says they cook it to perfection and it's a hardy meal. It's also $11 on happy hour menu! The lemon-drop Martini was delish, but I wouldn't order one if I was driving, it's pretty strong. Our waitress was good but forgot to get her name. We went for a low-key birthday celebration for my mom last night, we were seated quickly and Jonathan greeted us after a few minutes. His service was attentive and friendly, and the food was delicious. The scallop slewer on the combo plate was absolutely delicious. The salmon was good too. Everything we ate was delicious and the calamari was some of the best we've had. We will definitely be back for delicious food and the very casual, chill atmosphere. Wow! The food was great- all of it. My sea bass was moist and well seasoned and in a super hot little mini square cast iron skillet-too cute. My mashed potatoes were well seasoned and HOT and with lots of flavor. The asparagus was ok, but still yummy. I also had a small cup of clam chowder that was well great tasting. Service with Andrew was great. He was attos d informative since this was our first time here. Food was hot and came out in a timely manner. Ambiance is nothing to write home about. Mostly booths with a few tables and chairs located towards the bar area. There is a bar with sitting. This was my first time here and it was a very pleasant dining experience. We arrived during happy hour and were seated in the outdoor area which was enclosed and had heat lamps throughout. We ordered from the happy hour menu. Food was very tasty and the drinks were on point as well. The service was very nice and the staff were very attentive to our needs. Ambiance was nice and warm. It was a big open space but you are not sitting on top of each other. Noise level was low enough to be heard at your own table. We got extremely sick after eating the oysters and shrimp from this location. The manager pretends on the phone to care and took down my email to conduct an investigation and then informed me that I should hear back in 2 days but they never responded. I'm waiting for a refund. The seafood caused weight loss due to being unable to keep anything down, dehydration and a trip to emergency care. We still don't know what the parasites or bacteria are that caused the illness. Waiting for medical tests results and treatment which is very expensive. This location has also been reported to the health department this week. read more

Came in last week for dinner and initially sat at a small 4 too for a party of 6. Luckily the server saw the issue and decided to move us before the last of our group got there. We tried the pineapple margarita and spring fling- both very fresh and delicious. For entrees, the mahi mahi tacos (huge portion!) and the combo coconut shrimp and scallops. Others tried the miso salmon and burger and everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy their food. Service was a tad slow but they did move us to an area that didn't have a designated server, so that was to be expected. read more

The food & drinks were delicious and the ambiance was great. While we were happy with these, our server Freddy made the experience. His friendlyness, knowledge of the menu (and serving), and positive energy brought a smile to our face and made for a memorable experience. My wife has a few food restrictions and when we brought them up he had suggestions lined up that made the process easy and enjoyable. We stopped here after a memorial service to have a drink and a snack to unwind. I ordered my favorite drink, a Cadillac Margarita, and it was terrible. I asked the waitress if the bar had any brands of Reposado. She asked the bartender, came back to the table and said the bartender was cranky and would I like Patron (silver). I said, I'm asking for Reposado. She said, we don't have that. I turned around and looked at the full bar and thought, how can that be? So I went to the bar, asked the bartender, and he said he had Anejo. Perfect. I went back to the table, ordered the Cadillac from the waitress, and when she returned with the drink, the color was light. Darker tequila makes the drink more tan. This was cloudy like silver. The taste was terrible, more bitter like silver, not smooth like Anejo, and because the margarita mix was some sort of overly sugary concoction and there was no triple sec. The extra shot, the "Cadillac," did not seem to be Grand Marnier. So even after I asked the bartender what type of tequila he had, it seems like he purposely gave me the opposite of what I asked for. My once a week treat was a huge disappointment. Even though the mahi mahi tacos were good, I would not return to this place. read more

Summer has finally arrived in Eastern Ventura County. On a recent warm evening, we decided to try the new dining patio at MB Grille. It was the perfect time to sit outside, mid-80s temperature, gorgeous views as the sun was thinking about setting in a while. After a short 12 minute wait for a table, we were assigned a primo spot by the outer wall. One blessing of the pandemic for this restaurant was in the aftermath of using tents for seating, they decided to build a permanent covered patio space, encompassing one of the best views in Simi Valley. Overlooking the western end of town, it's a great place to dine as long as the wind isn't blowing (which can be a thang at certain times of year!). Our server seemed to be newer, as he didn't know the answers to some of the questions we asked, but he promised to find out, and so he did. Oil and vinegar are available to sub for butter for those of us who can't have dairy with their sourdough bread, for example. They serve half a small round of sourdough, which is normally a happy treat. Ours came out of the kitchen with the consistency of croutons, so it was likely heated twice, inadvertently. Not the norm here! We over-ordered, as the Thursday night special of three kinds of shrimp with two sides provided a very generous portion of food! Dear Hubby and I could have split one order, adding another shrimp skewer and a side salad and been well fed. As it was, we both took leftovers home, which took care of the next day's lunch, courtesy of the air fryer to warm everything up to a great state. I try to avoid fried fish since grilled is just a wonderful preparation style and healthier. The coconut shrimp was very yummy and just the right degree of doneness. Served with a tangy dipping sauce, the portion of three was just right to enjoy the taste and not be overwhelmed with the calorie bomb. DH tried their beer flight, which features generous "samples". Their glasses are about half of a small order, so he ended up with about two glasses of suds overall. Unfortunately, they don't have that many craft beers on draft, and he prefers lighter-style brews. Thus an 805 and a Blue Moon ended up being among his choices, plus an allegash and a blonde, so not that adventurous. He was already familiar with the 805 and the Blue Moon. At $13, it may not be a bad deal, but smaller glasses, more variety, and a smaller price tag would a better sampler make. Overall, loved the view, appreciated the fresh, clean patio area, helpful and earnest service, and delicious shrimp made for a pleasant meal. A second go-round on the sourdough helped make up for the overly dry first serving, too. We'll be back. read more

My wife and I had an experience this visit, which was disappointing at best. First, the service was not attentive. There were multiple times where we needed basic attention .. drinks refilled, more napkins, meal inquiries, etc. and she was nowhere to be found for extended periods of time. When she did deliver items, they were almost thrown onto the as she quickly fled the scene. Second, my food was subpar. I ordered my bone-in ribeye steak at a medium temperature. After waiting thirty minutes with no notification or waitstaff check-in, our food finally arrived. I immediately cut into my steak ( near the bone ) and found it a dark coloured brown throughout the cut. Additionally, after taking a bite to check the taste, it was bland and unseasoned, The texture, flavour, and aroma was tough, grainy, and gamey, as if it was left unrefrigerated overnight. My Alaskan crab legs immediately came out smelling like old fish. The manager explained the smell away by revealing that the crab may have been left out and defrosted prior to preparation. The ambiance was ok. A little on the noisy side due to a large party directly across from our table. Funny .. we have eaten here before multiple times and our experiences seem to worsen each time. This will be our final visit. We really wanted to really like this place but not when the service and food quality seem to significantly diminish each time. Thank you for your time. GREAT happy hour and service! This past weekend was my third time coming here dying happy hour and it never disappoints. My friend and I sat in the patio and had a really great server (I wish I remembered her name) and enjoyed plenty of delicious apps and beverages! The garlic park fries were delish, coconut shrimp & dipping sauce quiet tasty, shrimp tempura roll very yummy, but the artichoke was meh. Otherwise, my mai Thai(s) were super good - it's not a drink I typically order but it seemed like the thing to do here and I did not choose wrong!
