Guns 'are' a personal thing...like 'em, fear 'em, hate 'em,misunderstand them. Had a gun in my hand in1958.. enjoyed, Dad back from the Pacific in WWII, had handled a few. Emphasizing safety and respect. All that to note gun stores fall into the like, dislike, etc stuff. I have probably bought my last firearm [old, one hand knarled up] but Mazy is close,enjoy browsing, good place to exchange info, ahh, no, never been kissed there, wink..but a fine, long lived firearms and paraphernalia resource. If you're overly sensitive and take it personally if not immediately recognized, sigh..now J&G, ahh, won't go there... right, see how it works..i overheard a conversation about a used and valuable gun purchase, so I don't go..things are personal..but Mazy's has always been really decent to my old bones. Been doing business with Mazy's for over 14 years. It is a small family owned business that has been around for quite some time. No business is perfect and neither are all customers. They either have what you want, or they can get it if it exists. Their cigar selection is very nice as well. Jim Arroyo is an excellent gunsmith and Jennifer is AWESOME!!! read more

I found that they had the item that I wanted on line, and they got it into the store the next day, as promised. They then helped my fit up the accessories that I wanted and other essential supplies. The first word I said when walking into Mazys, was WOW!! They have guns, guns and more guns! And everything for your guns. The owner's daughter is amazing with all the knowledge just ready for your questions. Also, a very large selection of after shooting cigars. read more

It's one thing to be completely rude to your customers (which they are). It's something else to be completely clueless and incompetent. I thought I would give them one more chance. Big mistake. Extremely professional, experienced, and polite gunsmithing going on over here. Came in needing a scope rail installed and it was finished the next day, and it was spot on straight. Every other gunsmith that would actually pick up their phone wanted twice the price and way too much time to get it done. I had a couple of my guns worked on by another gunsmith and the other gun repair guy at other place did horrible job. So I took my Taurus .38 special to Mazys and Dave looked at it and immediatley knew what the issue was. The other guy that worked on it damaged the spring or cut it to low it appeared. Anyway, Dave fixed it and now it's working perfectly. The second time I went to Mazys I brought in my S&W 67, and the striker wasn't striking the bullet hard enough. I brought to Dave and he adjusted some spring down at the handle area and it corrected the issue. When I asked him what I owed him, he said, "for what? All I did was tighten it"! Wow! That was sincerely appreciated! I won't take my guns anywhere else now. I highly recommend Mazys! It's also a fun shop to go too! Old time gun shop with great staff. Everything you need for the regular firearm sports. Also a great walk in humidor with a wide variety of cigars. They also have a good assortment of accessories for the cigar smoker. They have an assortment of tobaccos for the pipe smokers too. read more

I would like to begin this by saying that it's a very cool store got a lot of neat things in there and I went in to check out the store and ask a question I was speaking with a gentleman behind the counter who was being friendly about background checks. Then out of nowhere this gray haired man who looks like Skipper from the Gilligan's Island totally jumps my conversation tells me I'm not eligible to purchase so I need to get out. Except I was speaking in hypotheticals and he was really rude and mean There was some kids in the store, had they not been there I would have really let him have it verbally. Bottom line if you want to be treated like worse than The Soup Nazi treats his customers on Seinfeld...if you're a masochist then by all means go to Mazy's have at it. read more

Not a bad place and they do have random/older/used stuff you don't usually find. That being said I asked for corbon ammo, they didn't know what it was. I asked for a holster for a sig p229 and they didn't have one and said you do t need a custom fit holster, it really doesn't matter. Here are our universal holsters that will work perfect. Sorry I don't want a cheap universal holster for a 1k$ pistol I carry everyday. It's sad that they push what's in stock and aren't too educated on modern ammo etc. Worth stopping by and check it out but be informed before you go in. read more

I am from out of state my mother in law lives in the area. I am a hand loader and went in for some supplies. They where friendly and helpful. I had my wife, daughter and mother in law with me and they treated all of us with respect. They answered all of our questions without any cundisention they even showed us some this is what happens if you're not careful reloading stuff. read more

I've been in there before to put various hand guns on consignment and have minor gunsmithing done. The last time, one of the owners accepted my hand gun but began to berate me about how beat-up it was and that it wouldn't be worth his time to sell it for me. He could easily make more on a new shipment of AR's that were expected soon. The gun I was selling was a post-war German Erma .22 Luger. It was in nice shape and actually got more then he told me it would bring. The shop is very close to my house and very convenient to get to but because of their poor treatment on my last visit - I have never been back. read more

Bought a box of Gold Dot .25 self defense and they charged me $24.95 plus chino valley tax of 10.35% for almost $28. Bill's Trading Post in Prescott wants $18 per box plus tax or about $8 cheaper per box than Mazy's. Will be going to Bill's in the future for ammunition. Price is too high here. read more
