Am longtime customer. Wanted to ship a handgun via USPS priority mail to another ffl in Tennessee. Clerk was adamant that could not be done, as not legal. Very ignorant and arrogant. Far drive from phoenix to Prescott but worth it the service , selection and value was good

I've purchased C&R firearms from them a couple times and usually compare between them and Classic Firearms. I got an old Carcano WWII Italian rifle from them, which arrived today in the expected condition. If you're a collector of old stuff like me, these guys are one of the last of the C&R dealers. Anyway, I've had no issues with customer service like some others report having. Everyone has been polite and professional. I've gone in several times with my pops when he made purchases. Every time we've been greeted and the sales people have been very knowledgeable and friendly. I saw a deal on their website for a Star BM. They were very patient with my jackassery on filling out the forms. (Read every line twice especially the one about being a US citizen sign here. Then says US citizens leave blank. Derp got me once) Anyway the gentleman helping me brought out 2 examples. Told us what he liked and didn't like about it. I was familiar since my pops had gotten one there. Had me and my pops look over them to see which we preferred. Since they were surplus and may have had different degrees of wear. My father-in-law, who isn't knowledgeable about weaponry, then asked Rusty some questions and was extremely happy with the customer service and professionalism. I used to be a frequent customer of J & G and I have bought several firearms from them without any issues. I then purchased an external light for one of the firearms that was purchased from them. I found another light for a better price from another seller so I decided to return the light to J & G. J & G refused to refund my unused and unopened product. They then told me that if I was unhappy with the sale, that it was fine with them if I told my friends about it and I never return to their store again. I have lived in Prescott since 1995 and I have never received this kind of treatment from other retailers in the area. Great Service, Good Deal On My New Toys! I don't know the name of the dark haired gentleman that was helping me when I came in, but he was super friendly and knowledgable. I just remember he drives a Honda Civic... Lol... I came in for an AR12 which is an AR15 style 12 gauge shotgun, I ended up getting 2 and a case of buckshot for the trip home in case zombies attacked... Lol... You really need to be looking for them or you will drive right by since they are nestled behind some other businesses down a little alleyway. Horrible business, absolute terrible arrogance. Had a flood at my home, gun safes will protect against fire and theft, but not against floods. Opened the gun safe and all guns had moisture on them. insurance adjuster told me take them and have them professionally cleaned and analyzed. Called J&G and asked if they did that kind of work? They said yes they had a gun smith on staff, but the cost is $ 100.00 per hour. I agreed and brought 6 guns down to them. I could cleam them myself but not like a gunsmith can. Arrived at J & G gave him my story and told him I needed help he to me $ 100.00 per gun. I said they told me $ 100.00 per hour. He said no I'll charge $ 100. per gun. Ok I said the Insurance company is paying so what the hell. My wife than asked to use the lady's room the smart ass said we don't have one use the feed stores down the street. I than asked what the value was on a M-1 Grand, he told me that they sell them for between $ 1,000 and $ 2,000. depending on parts. So I asked him since he was going to have them apart anyway he could than tell me the approx value? The smart ass than said I don't do gun appraisals. That was it I had had enough of his arrogance. I told him to FUCK OFF and that he has just lost a customer. The arrogant ass just sat with arms folded and watched me pick up my guns and leave. I will never go back and will bad moth J & G gun sale every chance I get, The store just lost $ 600.00 of pure profit. Best prices, terrible warranty. I bought a used Springfield 911. Failed to feed 20 out of 100 rds flat nosed FMJ). Had a visible ridge on feed ramp. Took it back to store immediately for them to fix or exchange. They "looked" at it and found "no defect" so shrugged me off and said it was my problem - "limp-wristing" and/or needed to break it in. I argued with him about the visible ridge on feed ramp, but he insisted it was fine. So basically their "warranty" leaves you completely at their mercy. So I shot 100 rds of round nose FMJ just fine, but then it jammed up EVERY rd of JHP. I took it to Poole's Gunsmith in Wickenburg who immediately saw the problem. $20 for a feed ramp polish to REMOVE THE VISIBLE DEFECT and it runs perfectly now. Buy your cheap ammo at J&G, NOT your firearms - they stink. They lost me as a customer over a $20 fix and treating me with no respect. read more

Wow, what a gun store. This place is stocked, wall to wall with guns. Unbelievable. Pro's: 1. This place isn't just a gun store, it is a gun warehouse. The showroom itself is massive, but the warehouse in the back is more than four times the size of the front... 2. Ton's and ton's of guns. It has everything from modern firearms to historical. You can get everything from the gun's used by the Navy Seals to the gun's used in World War 2. Every rifle from AK's to Mosin Nagants to trap sporting shotguns... 3. Staff was super super friendly. They had ton's of people trying to help you and show you all kinds of crazy goodies. The guy helping out didn't treat me like a retard despite me asking some Noob question. Maybe he just felt bad for me cuz I'm from California... who knows? Con's: 1. Ton of people. Literally wall to wall when I was there. 2. Only two cashiers. You have to wait for one to open up before they can process you. That can take awhile... A California Perspective: 1. It is really weird to walk in, buy a handgun, and then walk out. Worth the experience in itself (although you need a C&R FFL03 or some sort of FFL). 2. Arizona has some crazy sales tax. The state is 6% the city tacks on 3%+ so it was almost 10% sales tax. That is a lot of sales tax..... Some tips: 1. If you are going to eat the 10% sales tax, hand select. Check each one out. Not all guns are created equal. 2. If you are travelling like I was, it may behoove you to just pay and order in advance. One of my companions did and he was in and out a lot quicker than I was. 3. Having your C&R FFL 03 sent in beforehand speeds up all transactions. Plus they keep it on file till it expires. 4. Make sure your paperwork all matches up. It would suck if you drove all the way out and your address don't match up and they have to send you home empty handed.... They don't take American Express. read more

All the reviews currently on this business are from walk-ins who shop here. But it overlooks the significant volume of guns and ammo sold through their online business. I have been an on-line customer for about a decade and a half or more. Probably bought enough ammo over the years to equip a company level unit. Possessing a Curio and Relics Federal Firearms License (C&R), I am able to buy C&R listed weapons on line. They can be shipped directly to me w/o going thru a local FFL store. Ammo can be bought and delivered on-line to anyone (no FFL required) who lives in a free state (e.g: not the Peoples' Republics of CA, NY, NJ, et al). Having visited J&G on a trip through Prescott, I can honestly say it is a candy store for gun fanciers. I have found J&G to honestly rate the condition of the weapons they are offering and to deliver my purchases quickly and efficiently. I just recently bought a Romanian Tokarev from them. It arrived in a condition exactly as described online. Delivery charges were reasonable and no sales tax is charged for out of AZ sales. I have found their website to be an excellent ordering mechanism and have never had to return any item I have purchased. I received no freebies and I'm not related to anyone at the business. I just appreciate the great service, prices and selection for some hard to find ammo and magazines in my local area. First of all I have a war souvenir from Vietnam, a Tokarev 7.62x25mm (Chicom pistol) that I got while serving in 1970-71. I called local gun shops and places that sold weapons; I went online and found J&G as well as other sites. I was looking for ammo and magazines for my Chicom. I found both at J&G at good prices. I was concerned about the magazines since I had read several reviews at other sites about the Tokarev and the fact that not all magazines for this weapon are the same. It depends on where the weapon was manufactured. A Tokarev from one satellite Russian country does not necessarily fit a magazine made in another. The price on J&G's magazines was worth me taking a chance compared to Ebay's prices. I also ordered ammunition which I couldn't get locally. My order was submitted on Monday and by Friday it arrived via UPS. Of course I immediately tried both magazines and they worked perfectly in the Chicom. They are new mags not used, no rust, scratches, or dents. So if you're looking for a Chicom magazine you know where to get them! I loaded both mag's and got eight rounds in each and they ejected smoothly. I haven't fired the weapon with the new rounds or magazines, yet. I'm not anticipating any problems with the magazines malfunctioning. I'm extremely pleased with the service & prices. I will make purchases from J&G again when the need arises. read more

Ordered online to ship to my local dealer. They never shipped the order and when I called two weeks later they told me they canceled the order because they priced it incorrectly. The website showed "pending" up to the point when I called. It now shows, "canceled". They then raised the price by $250 and told me I could reorder at the new price. read more

The shop itself and it's inventory is impressive. However Perry one of their sales guys is a complete prick! His customer service skills are horrible doesn't give proper instruction on what's expected when it comes filling out the purchase application then has you repeat the process multiple times. We ended with a good experience as one of the older gentleman took over our sale and made our experience pleasant. Perry made it a point after the sale was complete to make sure he was credited for our purchase. I don't recommend working with Perry. However, the other sales team members were pleasant. read more

After 3 months, I asked for an update. they told me it could take a long time - they haven't received anything from the manufacturer. I asked for a refund, their response, there is a 3% restocking fee. Ridiculous. They didn't even have it in stock. After this, they said it was their policy and instead of restocking, it was a credit card fee (never received even an invoice - let alone a return/refund policy). I drove up from Tempe for NYE and heard good things about this spot from my buddy at work. Decided to go get some ammo and ended up grabbing 2,000 rounds of 9mm, 1,000 rounds of .223 as well as a box of 50 rounds for my every day carry (Glock 19) and also an extra 40 round magazine for my AR. Terrible business, terrible service, more arrogance than you would find in a palace! If they weren't the only place in town with the gun that I wanted, I would have walked out as soon as I walked in. I ordered a gun, they said they wouldn't charge me until I came in. Not true. They charged my credit card immediately. I went in to pick up my expensive gun and it had a flaw in the stock that had been poorly repaired at the factory. They said, well, that's the way it was made. Seriously?? So, we got the display gun with no flaw and the service just got worse. They picked the flyshit out of the pepper with my hand writing, pulled a background check for a long gun..nobody does that, and took an hour for a purchase that they had already charged me before I got there. And, they didn't know anything about the gun that I was picking up. I would rather fight with a knife or a club than give these morons another nickel. Go to Bill's Trading Post instead. He's a fair man, wonderful to deal with and has exceptional prices. read more

Sold me a faulty gun that had problems firing. Instead of letting me get a new one and trading it, they some how put the blame on me and told me I had to go through the gun manufacturer. I wished I had read all the negative reviews before I went there today. I needed a gunsmith to help me fix a small problem which I could normally do but needed a tool. The salesman says I will let you talk to the gunsmith he's right here. Before I could finish explaining what I needed, he proceeds to tell me it's $100.00 an hour One hour minimum. I can take it in but I'm backed up till September. I said it's less than 10 min repair. His reply was you heard me. This ass hole has short blond hair.
