This place is OK. Their dishes cater towards local tastes but the flavors are authentic and the chips, salsa and beans are great. I got the 3 enchilada combo and it was ok. Could have used a little more sauce and the chicken was a little dry. The portion size was large so for $13.99 a decent value. The happy hour $4.99 marguerita was good. Service was good too. If you are looking for super authentic Mex fare in Redding, there are better options. If you are looking for Mexican American fare and a marguerita in Redding, this is a good choice. Terrible customer service. I have an out of state ID from Oregon and I am 24. They took my real ID and bent it to see if it was real or not, lied about scanning my ID and said that it didn't scan when later another worker said that they didn't have a scanner, refused to look at 2 other photos of ID's that I had and we're incredibly rude throughout the whole process. I have been coming here for YEARS and I am incredibly disappointed in how this was handled. I requested the manager for clarification and they refused to come talk to me and my table, I will not be coming here again due to the lack or professionalism. read more

I hate to disparage a small, independent restaurant, but I was really disappointed with the quality of the food. There was no authenticity in the flavors. The corn tortillas were not traditionally warmed on a comal, but microwaved... How do i know this? Because when u microwave tortillas they break. These broke. The salsa for the chips was also disappointing... They didn't use actual tomatoes but canned tomato sauce. When you're Mexican, you know. Here's something else... No authentic Mexican restaurant will serve jalapeno poppers but here they were... And they used cream cheese for them instead of any Mexican cheeses. Finally the meat sucked... We were passing through Redding for the night and decided to try Mazatlan. Of course because of covid we picked up and brought it back to our room. It was fast, reasonably priced and delicious. We had the mixta fajitas. So delicious and the pork was fantastic. If we're ever in Redding again, we'll be back! read more

I like the family vibe and friendly staff here. A word of advice: come here with an appetite and a friend who likes the same food. The portions are verrrrrry generous. (Or plan on taking home leftovers.) I had the pork carnitas. Very flavorful. Recommended. And did I mention how friendly the staff is?!?!?!? Great place. read more

I would give Mazatlan 4 stars overall, except they burnt the cheese on my taco salad. The service was excellent, the salsa was good and spicy! My wife enjoyed her fajitas plate, but ouch $17 dollars for a single order of Fajitas. Good overall, well deserving of 3 1/2 stars. read more

Solid 4 stars. Driving up to Oregon, stopped in for a bite. Recommended by the motel clerk in the same parking lot. Good food, excellent service. The salsa is not very good. Tastes like out of a can, BUT...I am pleased with the overall experience. Nice decor, very friendly and attentive staff. Free appetizer with beans, cactus, onions and other seasonings. I liked it and normally avoid raw onions. Very tasty. Really glad I stopped in. Nice capper to a long drive. Thank you! read more

We're a bit disappointed because we read reviews before trying this place . Most of them said really good food but unfortunately it's not even close to a Mexican food. My chicken tacos were horrible, bland and plain ... Taco Bell was better. Beer were kinda pricey however the service was good. Will not visit here again read more

Sat at the bar. They have a TV and were great about changing it for the basketball game for me! (NBA!) they were really up to speed on describing what was in each dish, which I appreciated! I had the spicy shrimp dish with mushrooms, which came w rice and a very nice salad. I recommend it, although can't remember the name?! their salsa and chips were great too. read more

I was just picking up food and noticed that the young lady that was at the register was organizing menus. As I was observing her I noticed as she straightened out the menus she wasn't cleaning them. No sanitizing, no nothing. I'm no believer in this supposedly covid killer but I'm also a believer in keeping items that people touch on a rotating basis should be clean and ready for the next table. I'm hopeful that mazatlan after reading this will manage this very simple fix. read more

Uhhh The service was excellent. The inside is really cute, love the aesthetic. we came around 3 on a Thursday. The Chips and salsa was good. My carnitas burrito was made to perfection. The carnitas were crispy without the fat chunks, pretty perfect. But absolutely flavorless. same for rice and beans. Food had no flavor. Idk if this is a Redding thing or what, but the lack of flavor was highly disappointing. even with the burrito being smothered in red sauce, it did nothing for the flavor. Food was piping hot and visually pleasing. I would love to come back for happy hour! My daughter enjoyed her flautas. read more
