I'm new to Redding and I eat here once a month or so. I often get the #20 combo of taco, enchilada, chili relleno, rice and beans (and chips with salsa). Sometimes I just get the house salad "to go" (which is huge) and I eat half for lunch and half for dinner, and comes with chips and salsa, too! read more

Was working out of town and wanted Mexican food so I went on yelp and clicked Mexican Restaurants. After checking menus and reviews I went to Mazatlan Grill which was just down the street from where we stayed. The reviews were spot on. The portions are huge and the food was fantastic. I ordered the 3 enchilada plate and it was superb. I think we will be back in the area again later this year and I will be stopping there to eat again without a doubt . read more

The food was packaged in big containers and it was extremely good. There was plenty of meat and seafood in the entrees. My girlfriend and I had a great lunch and were very full. read more

Best Mexican food around. Always good and service too. Drinks are delicious also. Atmosphere is wonderful.

I ordered a bean, cheese, rice, sour cream, salsa and lettuce burrito yesterday. Got to my hotel and saw the burrito didn't have beans, cheese, nor salsa.. in addition the flour tortilla didn't seem cooked. It reminded me of a cold wrap tortilla. I called and let them know. I go again to receive another burrito on the house since they messed up my order. I physically go in and speak to the same employee. I asked if they can give me a new order with correct items i requested. She writes up the order as i tell her everything i want. She tells me it would be 20 minutes. I wait. Pick it up. She tells me if it happens next time, to take pictures. I told her I'm out of town so i won't be back. Got to my hotel room. Again... wrong order... this time it was a cheese, lettuce and sour cream burrito. I call again and ask for a new burrito with rice and beans included... as i had ordered it. She said i can go pick up the rice and beans. I told her i wanted the burrito with the items i asked for ... IN THE BURRITO. She said she couldn't give out free food. I told her, it's not free food. It's correcting a simple order. Plus she said they've been busy yesterday and today, so that's why they messed up. I told her that is no excuse to mess up an order. . I offered to text her the image... she said she couldn't give out her number. I told her I'll post a picture on yelp. Disappointed that a "Mexican" restaurant cannot even get a simple order correct with excuses over being "busy" .. i cannot believe a restaurant with top reviews has terrible service and lack of understanding of orders. read more

Great food, excellent, friendly, and prompt service every time we go. Highly recommend.

My wife and a friend of hers went to lunch at Mazatlan, I heard about the quality of the food for a couple days after. They both had great things to say about the restaurant. Friendly helpful staff, great food, clean and inviting. I don't don't normally write reviews like this for my wife but its been two weeks now and I am still hearing about it. read more

I waited almost 2 hours to get my order taken, total of 1:30 minutes trying to get my food. At the end I never got my food. Horrible service. read more

Do not eat here! Not only is the food absolutely horrendous, they steal!!! They will not hesitate to additionally charge your card. Our receipt came to $21, but the bank charge is for $15 more. Most likely added as tip WITHOUT CONSENT! Therefore, stealing. If you take the risk to come here, check your receipt. As of yet, they have not resolved their mistake claiming internet problems. read more

This was our first experience eating here. Our server Daniel was a breath of fresh air. Great server, excellent lunch. We will be back.

They sometimes have the best bacon wrapped shrimp. If you go when there isn't a packed house, you'll get great food and service.

Good Mexican food Great location, right on Hilltop Blvd Service is good and friendly read more

We stopped here on our way back to Washington and loved it! The bean/cactus salsa that they gave us with the chips was nothing we've ever had before, so good! The salsa was also very good. I had the tostado with the verde meat and it was so good! Huge chunks of pork and a huge tostado, I usually don't eat much but as you can see from the picture I did serious damage!! My husband had the daily special, pork carnitas and a beef tamale, and he loved it!!! We will definitely stop by again when we're in the reading area. read more

Unfortunately this restaurant doesn't l live up to it's Yelp rating. Food was very bland and not at all tasty. Won't be returning here anytime soon. read more

Had a great dinner here when visiting Redding the other nite. Had the Fajitas with 3 types of meat. One order is much more than two of us could even finish. Everything was great, starting with the chips and the bean salsa and the presentation. Wish we had Mexican food like this in Eureka! read more

My fav place to go always. Everyone is so friendly and nice. Food is always piping hot and delicious. To go box needed before I even order and that's fine with me. Get to enjoy another meal of deliciousness. Best staff EVER! read more

I had eaten here before when traveling for work, and I remember liking this place. I tried it tonight and ordered the shrimp enchiladas and they were pretty underwhelming. They had some cheese sauce on them that was pretty flavorless. I was hoping for more of a green sauce. I had to keep adding salsa and their bean dip on top to give the enchiladas some flavor. Maybe this place is really good depending upon what you order, but I recommend not ordering the shrimp enchiladas. Service was prompt and friendly, so everything was pretty good on that front read more

This place is OK. Their dishes cater towards local tastes but the flavors are authentic and the chips, salsa and beans are great. I got the 3 enchilada combo and it was ok. Could have used a little more sauce and the chicken was a little dry. The portion size was large so for $13.99 a decent value. The happy hour $4.99 marguerita was good. Service was good too. If you are looking for super authentic Mex fare in Redding, there are better options. If you are looking for Mexican American fare and a marguerita in Redding, this is a good choice. Check it out. read more

Another redding establishment that is well below average and not worth visiting. Food tastes boiled. Zero life in it and not worth a visit

I would give Mazatlan 4 stars overall, except they burnt the cheese on my taco salad. The service was excellent, the salsa was good and spicy! My wife enjoyed her fajitas plate, but ouch $17 dollars for a single order of Fajitas. Good overall, well deserving of 3 1/2 stars. read more

Solid 4 stars. Driving up to Oregon, stopped in for a bite. Recommended by the motel clerk in the same parking lot. Good food, excellent service. The salsa is not very good. Tastes like out of a can, BUT...I am pleased with the overall experience. Nice decor, very friendly and attentive staff. Free appetizer with beans, cactus, onions and other seasonings. I liked it and normally avoid raw onions. Very tasty. Really glad I stopped in. Nice capper to a long drive. Thank you! read more

I hate to disparage a small, independent restaurant, but I was really disappointed with the quality of the food. There was no authenticity in the flavors. The corn tortillas were not traditionally warmed on a comal, but microwaved... How do i know this? Because when u microwave tortillas they break. These broke. The salsa for the chips was also disappointing... They didn't use actual tomatoes but canned tomato sauce. When you're Mexican, you know. Here's something else... No authentic Mexican restaurant will serve jalapeno poppers but here they were... And they used cream cheese for them instead of any Mexican cheeses. Finally the meat sucked... It was really bad, people. Stop rating this place highly. Oh and they're ripping you off with the prices... read more

Great food and awesome service always! They make great margaritas and the food is fresh

We were passing through Redding for the night and decided to try Mazatlan. Of course because of covid we picked up and brought it back to our room. It was fast, reasonably priced and delicious. Terrible customer service. I have an out of state ID from Oregon and I am 24. They took my real ID and bent it to see if it was real or not, lied about scanning my ID and said that it didn't scan when later another worker said that they didn't have a scanner, refused to look at 2 other photos of ID's that I had and we're incredibly rude throughout the whole process. I have been coming here for YEARS and I am incredibly disappointed in how this was handled. I requested the manager for clarification and they refused to come talk to me and my table, I will not be coming here again due to the lack or professionalism. read more

I like the family vibe and friendly staff here. A word of advice: come here with an appetite and a friend who likes the same food. The portions are verrrrrry generous.
