Lots of choices for Mexican in Redding. We stopped for the night, wanted a good meal and to watch MNF. Mazatlan fit perfectly. Great staff, friendly, attentive, all one could hope for. The food was quite good- they make a fantastic chlie relleno- but all our food, even the chips & salsa were delicious. Big beers , liter size, should one wish. We opted for margaritas, and were quite happy. read more

Was on a trip to the redding area and stopped in for dinner. Chips and salsa was the starter for us and the chips were crisp and warm. My wife had the beef fajitas and i had the tacos al carbon. Both plates were flavorful and were worth the price. We also had drinks, wife had blue Hawaiian and i had a raspberry margarita. Both were large and delicious. Our waiter didn't offer us dessert, but i remembered the choices so i ordered a chimichanga de manzana. Overall pretty decent meal for a reasonable price read more

Great service, amazing portions, hot plates make for hot food. Went later on a Sunday so it was pretty chill.

I ordered a pork Verde combo meal to go. Dear lord it was awful. Not a lot of pork in the burrito and it was huge chunks. Two inch size. No flavor with it and the rice and beans on the side. Terrible salsa. Guacamole not bad. I'm sorry but I would not recommend. Was a disappointment. read more

The service and food was Terrific. We had carne Asada and a taco salad. Both were fresh and tasty. Our server was on the ball checking back and not leaving us stranded wanting anything. The house margaritas are good, I upgraded to a "Perfect" margarita and wasn't disappointed. We will be going back. read more

The food was amazing. Very authentic. You start with chips and salsa. The salsa is not a typical tomato or pico de Gallo salsa. This one has beans and it's just such a great combo. Our margaritas were very tasty and delicious. We ordered a guacamole, they have a guacamole bar that they bring your table and you watch them prepare it for you. You literally learn how to make your own guacamole at home. They ask how spicy or salty etc if you want it. The food was very delicious. I ordered a carne asada wet burrito and it was very good. Highly recommend this place. The service was excellent, very friendly people. read more

Came in 1hr before closing after a long hike. Feed me anything and I was going to eat anything you put in front of me. I have to start by saying customer service is on the poor side. We had to ask for chips and salsa. After receiving our order of chicken fajitas and I got the Mazatlan steak. The reviews did not lie. I order medium rare and I got medium-well. My steak had no taste I had to cut my steak and wipe it on my girl fajitas oil to get some flavor. I don't think I need to say more. The topping to that is Our server helps his friends more than he checks on us. Go somewhere else. I'm, sure there's another place that wants your business. We came here because they open later than other restaurants. read more

Amazing food, drinks and service! Alex our waitress was extremely kind and attentive! All the workers were friendly as well. Food was good! I had a the trio fajita combo shrimp, chicken and steak with a mangoniada drink and churro dessert. I absolutely recommend this restaurant! read more

The smell of good food brought us here, as we were staying at the hotel behind the restaurant. I was also tired of driving and walking to eat diner was a great option. The food was very tasty. The service was great, although it did take a while to get our order in. Here is the problem and the reason why I'm giving the 1 star: Wearing a mask is now required statewide. Statewide. Wearing a mask or cloth face covering slows the spread of C-19. Out of 10 employees I counted walking around in the eating/sitting area, only 3 were wearing masks properly. Some were wearing them under the nose or on the chin. Some didn't even have a mask at all. Kind of upsetting to also see they were not enforcing masks or face coverings for patrons. read more

Staff is super friendly. Cold beer and good food. Their chips and salsa is fire. I usually sit at the bar, and get fast service.

This is outstanding Mexican food. I'm eating my whole fish that I took out and I love it. I feel like I'm in Zihuatanejo.

I really wanted some chicken fajitas so we had lunch here today. This place kinda reminds me of my favorite Mexican food I grew up with in Vegas. High back booths, bold colors all over, friendly staff and delicious (and quickly served) fresh tasting food. We were promptly greeted, seated and drinks and beans, chips n salsa served. I ordered the chicken fajitas and it's served on two huge plates. Sizzling peppers, onions and chicken on one plate and the lettuce and tomatoes, guac and sour cream, rice and beans on the other. Oh and 4 flour tortillas. It was all so flavorful - I loved it and brought home enough for two more meals lol. Randy got the large combo plate - an enchilada (he got cheese, suiza style), fish taco and chili relleno with refried beans and rice. The rice has a bit of a kick to it, which he loves and it's not super spicy, which I love. He thoroughly enjoyed the enchilada and relleno but did not like the fish taco. The fish is in small pieces and breaded and has almost no flavor although the lemon did help. He wouldn't get that again. He prefers fish tacos with a slice of fish. He also came home with enough for two more meals. Definitely our favorite for Mexican food in Redding. read more

Such an amazing lunch or dinner destination. Instead of fast food, we took a chance on this restaurant and were very pleased. The lunch special was 2 enchiladas, rice and beans. It was great food for less than $10.00! The Chicken salad had tons of fresh avocados and tomatoes. Far superior to ANY of the nearby fast food chains! Great service and nice, clean ambience. We got our food "to go" and couldn't eat all of it! read more

So good!, The food was excellent, and the margaritas were top-notch. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Al pastor was beyond words. So incredibly scrumptious!! I did a takeout order and had my toddler with me so I wish they had some/ or offered me a drink carrier but other than that I have no regrets on my money spent for me and my kids dinner. Portion sizes were also big like other reviews say. And everything was packaged well. read more

I will never step foot in this place as long as I live. Met some friends for dinner on the night of Kool April nights. After parking my car and joining my friends at the front door I was approached by the so called manager owner who stated I need to move my car. She stated the parking spot was reserved. She immediately stated she was calling a tow truck. I stated there were no signs stating no parking and nothing was conducted off. She then walked away. As we were sitting at their bar having a cocktail She came up to me rudely and stated a tow truck was on its way. She then told the the bar tender that our group would not be served food. The bar tender was instructed to print our tab which she did. My drink was about 70 percent and she returned and raised her voice and said the tow truck was on site and about to tow my car. I left me beer at the bar and listen to respond when I said I would never come back that I was just one person and it wouldn't matter. I moved my car across the street and enjoyed a meal at Apple Bees with great service. I will note the with a clear shot at Mazatlan Grill there wasn't a single car that parked in the spot I vacated when I left at 8:30 2 thumbs down fir the manage/owner. I will say the bar tender remain professional and polite throughout the ordeal.. read more

Great food a little expensive but still good. The drinks are good I love the Micheladas

Good food and good service. Fun atmosphere and authentic environment filled with mariachi music and colorful tables and booths. My kids love coming here. We go often. Highly recommend to anyone who loves authentic Mexican cuisine. This restaurant has the Same owner as both of the Puerto Vallarta's in Redding as well as the one in Anderson. He also now owns the El Mariachis on churn creek. All have different flavors but all authentic and absolutely delicious. Must try!! read more

Great food. Great margaritas. Staff is friendly and food is hot when brought to you.

I had an unsatisfactory experience 8 years ago, and I had not been back since, having been so long I decided to try them again... unfortunately I didn't enjoy it again, based on what I ordered, my order was not prepared as it's described on the menu and when I asked the server about it I was offered a plate to pick out what I didn't like, no apologies, I asked for my steak medium rare and I got it overcooked, the temperature of the restaurant was uncomfortable, and hip-hop music playing at a Mexican restaurant??? I won't be back and I will not be recommending this establishment to anyone. read more

We have always enjoyed the food at this restaurant, so during Covid, we started ordering for takeout. Of the six take out orders, we have only received our exact order once! And it's only two of us ordering!!! We've ordered sides of guacamole twice and paid $5.99 for the side order only to receive a very small plastic container, like you'd get salsa. So I stopped ordering guacamole. We've ordered sides of salsa and spicy salsa... and only receive one small container of mild salsa. We've ordered beef enchiladas and received chicken enchiladas. Receipt said beef! The last two orders placed were cold.... I get it... it's take out.... but the chicken in a taco should not be refrigerator cold! I'm sad, but I've given this restaurant so many opportunities. read more

Super pleasant surprise as we just bumped into this place without any planning or research. Even the salsa given to accompany the tortilla chips are special -other than the usual tomato ones , there is a tasty bean one. Shrimp marinated with lime juice and spicy chilly juice topped with avocado is a never seen before dish but a hell great one! Service is warm too. Highly recommend this one . Would come back for sure . read more

Hadn't been in a couple of years. Surprised how bland the food was and seemed to rely on lots of cheese and cilantro for flavor. Beans were watery under the bland melted cheese. Chili Rellano was soft and coating gooey. Shrimp taco was sparse shrimp with odd seasoning. Service was slow as well read more
