The food was amazing. Very authentic. You start with chips and salsa. The salsa is not a typical tomato or pico de Gallo salsa. This one has beans and it's just such a great combo. Our margaritas were very tasty and delicious. We ordered a guacamole, they have a guacamole bar that they bring your table and you watch them prepare it for you. You literally learn how to make your own guacamole at home. They ask how spicy or salty etc if you want it. The food was very delicious. I ordered a carne asada wet burrito and it was very good. I really wanted some chicken fajitas so we had lunch here today. This place kinda reminds me of my favorite Mexican food I grew up with in Vegas. High back booths, bold colors all over, friendly staff and delicious (and quickly served) fresh tasting food. We were promptly greeted, seated and drinks and beans, chips n salsa served. I ordered the chicken fajitas and it's served on two huge plates. Sizzling peppers, onions and chicken on one plate and the lettuce and tomatoes, guac and sour cream, rice and beans on the other. Oh and 4 flour tortillas. It was all so flavorful - I loved it and brought home enough for two more meals lol. Randy got the large combo plate - an enchilada (he got cheese, suiza style), fish taco and chili relleno with refried beans and rice. The rice has a bit of a kick to it, which he loves and it's not super spicy, which I love. He thoroughly enjoyed the enchilada and relleno but did not like the fish taco. The fish is in small pieces and breaded and has almost no flavor although the lemon did help. He wouldn't get that again. He prefers fish tacos with a slice of fish. I will never step foot in this place as long as I live. Met some friends for dinner on the night of Kool April nights. After parking my car and joining my friends at the front door I was approached by the so called manager owner who stated I need to move my car. She stated the parking spot was reserved. She immediately stated she was calling a tow truck. I stated there were no signs stating no parking and nothing was conducted off. She then walked away. As we were sitting at their bar having a cocktail She came up to me rudely and stated a tow truck was on its way. She then told the the bar tender that our group would not be served food. The bar tender was instructed to print our tab which she did. My drink was about 70 percent and she returned and raised her voice and said the tow truck was on site and about to tow my car. I left me beer at the bar and listen to respond when I said I would never come back that I was just one person and it wouldn't matter. I moved my car across the street and enjoyed a meal at Apple Bees with great service. I will note the with a clear shot at Mazatlan Grill there wasn't a single car that parked in the spot I vacated when I left at 8:30 2 thumbs down fir the manage/owner. I will say the bar tender remain professional and polite throughout the ordeal.. read more

The smell of good food brought us here, as we were staying at the hotel behind the restaurant. I was also tired of driving and walking to eat diner was a great option. The food was very tasty. The service was great, although it did take a while to get our order in. Here is the problem and the reason why I'm giving the 1 star: Wearing a mask is now required statewide. Statewide. Wearing a mask or cloth face covering slows the spread of C-19. Out of 10 employees I counted walking around in the eating/sitting area, only 3 were wearing masks properly. Some were wearing them under the nose or on the chin. Some didn't even have a mask at all. Kind of upsetting to also see they were not enforcing masks or face coverings for patrons. read more

Al pastor was beyond words. So incredibly scrumptious!! I did a takeout order and had my toddler with me so I wish they had some/ or offered me a drink carrier but other than that I have no regrets on my money spent for me and my kids dinner. Was on a trip to the redding area and stopped in for dinner. Chips and salsa was the starter for us and the chips were crisp and warm. My wife had the beef fajitas and i had the tacos al carbon. Both plates were flavorful and were worth the price. We also had drinks, wife had blue Hawaiian and i had a raspberry margarita. Both were large and delicious. Our waiter didn't offer us dessert, but i remembered the choices so i ordered a chimichanga de manzana. Overall pretty decent meal for a reasonable price read more

We had to ask for chips and salsa. After receiving our order of chicken fajitas and I got the Mazatlan steak. The reviews did not lie. I order medium rare and I got medium-well. My steak had no taste I had to cut my steak and wipe it on my girl fajitas oil to get some flavor. I don't think I need to say more. After checking menus and reviews I went to Mazatlan Grill which was just down the street from where we stayed. The reviews were spot on. The portions are huge and the food was fantastic. We have always enjoyed the food at this restaurant, so during Covid, we started ordering for takeout. Of the six take out orders, we have only received our exact order once! And it's only two of us ordering!!! We've ordered sides of guacamole twice and paid $5.99 for the side order only to receive a very small plastic container, like you'd get salsa. So I stopped ordering guacamole. We've ordered sides of salsa and spicy salsa... and only receive one small container of mild salsa. We've ordered beef enchiladas and received chicken enchiladas. Receipt said beef! The last two orders placed were cold.... I get it... it's take out.... but the chicken in a taco should not be refrigerator cold! Super pleasant surprise as we just bumped into this place without any planning or research. Even the salsa given to accompany the tortilla chips are special -other than the usual tomato ones , there is a tasty bean one. Shrimp marinated with lime juice and spicy chilly juice topped with avocado is a never seen before dish but a hell great one! Service is warm too. Highly recommend this one . I'm new to Redding and I eat here once a month or so. I often get the #20 combo of taco, enchilada, chili relleno, rice and beans (and chips with salsa). Sometimes I just get the house salad "to go" (which is huge) and I eat half for lunch and half for dinner, and comes with chips and salsa, too! read more

I ordered a bean, cheese, rice, sour cream, salsa and lettuce burrito yesterday. Got to my hotel and saw the burrito didn't have beans, cheese, nor salsa.. in addition the flour tortilla didn't seem cooked. It reminded me of a cold wrap tortilla. I called and let them know. I go again to receive another burrito on the house since they messed up my order. I physically go in and speak to the same employee. I asked if they can give me a new order with correct items i requested. She writes up the order as i tell her everything i want. She tells me it would be 20 minutes. I wait. Pick it up. She tells me if it happens next time, to take pictures. I told her I'm out of town so i won't be back. Got to my hotel room. Again... wrong order... this time it was a cheese, lettuce and sour cream burrito. I call again and ask for a new burrito with rice and beans included... as i had ordered it. She said i can go pick up the rice and beans. I told her i wanted the burrito with the items i asked for ... IN THE BURRITO. She said she couldn't give out free food. I told her, it's not free food. It's correcting a simple order. Plus she said they've been busy yesterday and today, so that's why they messed up. I told her that is no excuse to mess up an order. . I offered to text her the image... she said she couldn't give out her number. I told her I'll post a picture on yelp. Disappointed that a "Mexican" restaurant cannot even get a simple order correct with excuses over being "busy" .. i cannot believe a restaurant with top reviews has terrible service and lack of understanding of orders. read more

We enjoyed our outdoor, well spaced, good service dining. We arrived around 7 pm to avoid the heat and take advantage of the shade. Misters, large fans made the area comfortable.
