Great breakfast burritos. Great service--staff very friendly. Would definitely come back again and again.

In town for a few days and needed coffee. Headed to the Starby's closest and thought about breakfast. What a great surprise to see a neon OPEN sign next door! Breakfast Burritos are the best! And, I found out today that Baja Burrito has THE VERY BEST. 17 years they have been serving delights! Back at the house, I took my first bite and had to close my eyes and sigh with pleasure. So good. It was perfect. I chose sausage as my protein, and they're was a great selection of toppings to add to the eggs,potatoes and sausage. It was so large that I only ate half for breakfast. Later I heated it up and it was still perfect! Guess who has 2 thumbs and is going there for breakfast again tomorrow? We also ordered for somebody who had some diet restrictions, and staff were really helpful in making sure the order was correct and gave ideas for substitutions. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I have been going here for 8 years now. Their Raspberry churros are phenomenal. I do love their breakfast burritos and I cannot forget about the shrimp tacos I'm drooling just thinking about it. I've had their pozole before and grabbed it many times. Picked up 2 today on this cold day. Perfect start for this day. Always an upbeat atmosphere. I don't see people standing around ever. Always go go go ! They never let me forget the habanero sauce for my husband that I sometimes forget to ask but they have SAVED me so many times. Haha. I love this place and everyone should give them a try once. Oh did I mention that I do not like Raspberry? Those churros are a hit. I tried this spot for the first time a few months ago and have been loving it ever since. The food is delicious and they have lots of great options to customize your meal to your liking. By far, my favorite place to get lunch. All of my Mexican favorites freshly made daily. I have many favorites here but my go to lately is shredded pork taco with their amazing homemade pineapple salsa. As if the food wasn't enough to bring me back, I look forward to the friendly atmosphere the whole team has because the owner is genuinely the friendliest man, guaranteed to make me laugh every time I go! I've been feeling under the weather and I was treated to this place for some soul warming food. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed that it seems like a family owned establishment. The food was fresh and made to order, but since I'm under the weather everything tasted a little bland. I don't know if it was just me or the actual food, so no star deduction for that. The service was good, seemed like a family business low lighting which I wouldn't prefer but I wanted to try something new. Me personally I won't be going back, I ordered macho nachos with chicken, cheese, & beans and guacamole on the side. Stopped here for a breakfast burrito before beginning the drive back to the Bay Area. Service was friendly and quick. Restaurant is clean and nice. Burrito was excellent. Had never tried this place but live just a few blocks away so..... ordered online for pick up. When ordering it seemed I was ordering a "plate' full of food and the ability to make my own burrito, soft tacos, whatever. I went to pick it up it was a burrito already made, not large by any means. I asked about an order mix up and they said that is what I ordered. I guess it is possible I made a mistake so I just took it home, still concerned about the size and amount of food I got for 13 dollars. I got home opened the bag, found the burrito and 6 chips that came with it. The burrito was ok I guess but limited meat in it, not mixed well, and only so so taste. For $13? My review does not reflect their food because we did not eat. We stopped by about 10 minutes ago and attempted to order a Nachos Grande from the menu. The gal tbat helped us finished up with the customer ahead of us (food/money) and started to take our order. This is where the issue started. SHE DID NOT WASH HER HANDS! She also did not have gloves on! This is not just a COVID thing, this is an all out safe food practices thing! Can you imagine how much bad bacteria that would be on her hands? Money is so freaking dirty! I don't want to get sick. That is the bottom line. I am sure that I am not the only one euther. Anyway, so i told her we changed our minds and we left. Fantastic burritos. Lots of great fresh ingredients and friendly service. The price is super reasonable and there isn't an extra charge for adding most things. I was told their hot sauce was extremely hot and I will say I wish it was hotter. I felt like it was more of a spicy medium. read more

Best Mexican food in Redding by far. They are hidden away on S Bonneyview but they have the friendliest staff and the best food. They make their salsas fresh every morning. If you want a great lunch try two tacos, one chicken and one Alpastor and ask the owner to make it "his way". read more

I stopped in for dinner about 6pm on a Friday. I had a relative and my two kids with me. The place was well kept but not much like any other burrito place I have been in. It's setup more like a sandwich shop than a Mexican restaurant. You order your burrito and then basically build it into your own by picking and choosing which ingredients you would like in it as they progress down a quasi production line for lack of a better description. One of the first things I noticed was their lack of a variety of options for kids. They have a kids meal and you can choose between nachos, bean and cheese burrito, quesadilla, or chicken strips (I think) but there is no option to order a kids sized burrito a la carte or even with meat on it for that matter. To get a kids sized burrito you have to buy the kids meal. If all you want is the burrito that's no good. That's certainly what happened to us. I ended up ordering 3 adult sized burritos and a few sodas. One burrito for each adult and one for the kids to split. This was the only way to get them a kid appropriate portion in anything other than only rice and beans. The total came out to be just over $30. I was already not super impressed with the experience but I was able to set that aside in hopes that the quality and taste of the food would make it better. Sadly I was again disappointed. It was by no means terrible but it was far from great too. I would describe it as edible, and that's the best I can do. The restaurant was clean and well kept. The restrooms were in good shape also. While we were eating our food they began sweeping and mopping the floor right next to us. The rest of the place was completely empty, so why do that right next to us? Maybe I'm to particular but I certainly don't appreciate the chemical cleaner smell while eating and can't help but be concerned about all the dust the broom is kicking into the air somehow making its way onto my food. read more

Listen, I'll give you a 5 star review, but I've got a major complaint so saddle up. Your Burrito Challenge is an insult to the community in every possible way. The rules you set up are absolutely embarrassing, and invite all the trouble you're getting over it. You deserve the ridicule over your 3 card Monty version of a food challenge. It's absolutely irresponsible to ask the guest to finish this man y pounds burrito in 15 minutes. This has got to the worst time limit I've seen in any food challenge across 5he states. You're going to get someone killed. You're going to force a heart attack on one of these contestants, due to the 15 minute rule. Go ask a cardiologist what's gonna happen here. This food challenge is unsafe, morally irresponsible, and legally unsound. You have no idea the degree to which you are toying with people's lives as they try to complete a physically impossible task. The time limit should be at least double to prevent death. read more

Very nice line service, with good choice of items to choose from. 1.Carnitas burrito got the "better than Burrito Bandito" comment. 2.Shredded bbq beef taco's were "decent" (would prefer crisp shells, they don't offer that). Maybe its an 'American' thing? 3.Grilled Mahi Mahi burrito very salty and too saucey, but would order again. NOTE: Both burrito's were large enough to split........ $25 for 2 burritos and dose tacos with added guac. seems high. Watch out for the extra add-on costs as well.............Did the check out girl almost try to charge me for a to-go menu.........hahaha Since they seem to have no web-site or readable online menu, I posted a couple to-go menu shots.........hope they help '-) They were grilling whole tomatoes for their dark and rich fire roasted salsa! This place is so great. Every time. The service is wicked fast. The people are friendly. The food fresh. What to order? The barbacoa? Good. The chicken? Good. Al pastor? Good. The mahi mahi? Good. The only suggestion I have is to redo the menu--it's confusing. But I love that they have a kid's menu with little cinnamon crispy nom-noms. The whole fam enjoys lunch here. read more

Every time I drive by Redding I have to stop at Baja Burrito. Its been years and they are always there, ready to custom-build my meal with my choice of ingredients that are fresh-made, delicious, healthy and without a bunch of additives that will kill me in the long-term. Vegan-appropriate burritos can be found here for the vegetarian traveler that are so far superior to any other available that I was shocked to come across such a place in Redding. The staff are friendly and accommodating. I've also enjoyed watching the "Hall of Shame" fill up with men who try to eat a 6 lb burrito and fail. We ordered through "UBER EATS" for my husband's birthday as it was raining and we had a few drinks. Went through 4 drivers before I decided to call and see if they were even open since the app said they were closing soon. Spoke to one of the employees who knew our order immediately and stated the first driver picked up our order but NEVER DELIVERED......we decided to drive down and just pick it up ourselves. They did their best to fix the situation and did more than enough to make it better for us. We have always had a good experience with them and they just went over the top to fix a horrible situation. Especially on my husbands birthday. We will continue to be customers to a great establishment with amazing employees. read more

This place is average in my opinion. It's not bad, but it's not great. This place is comparable to Chipotle, where you can build your own burrito with all the ingredients right there in front of you. The burritos are just as big as theirs too. All of the food does indeed taste fresh, however, there isn't a whole lot of flavor in it. The carne asada tasted like a cheaper piece of meat, which wasn't too good. And the Spanish rice just tasted mushy. I got salsa verde in my burrito which I couldn't really taste. I also got a side of chips and salsa. The salsa wasn't very bold flavor wise and they only gave me about 8 chips total, which doesn't justify the extra $4. I wouldn't come back here. But if you decide to go here, you'll leave full, but not necessarily satisfied. read more

Unsanitary. They do not wear gloves when making your food. Literally put his bare hand in the lettuce, tomatoes etc and then dumped it on my burrito. I don't care if we are in a pandemic or not that's just basic food service etiquette. read more
