My husband's Italian sub was good and he loved the fries - a little different than the usual. We are here on a holiday weekend on Friday at 4:00. It is very cool inside with ac and lots of people are sitting on the covered porch out back. There is a little pond adjacent. I can hear myself talk and my husband even though people are at the bar cheering for the USA Soccer Team. I like it here. It is reasonably priced. People greeted us as we walked in, even holding the door. We'll be back when we drive through again.

We split an appetizer while I enjoyed a flight of their craft beers and ciders, while my mother had a lite lager. Next we split their carnivore pizza - which could have had more meat toppings, other than the bacon bacon bacon. Not that I'm complaining about the bacon, but would have liked more of the other toppings. Service was friendly, but took a few extra minutes for the server/bartender to get to us initially. But service improved thereafter, even after the crowd started coming in. And even with the crowd the volume didn't raise much, making it easy to have a conversation without having to shout. The building itself is structured like a warehouse, but they did great with the interior, I just wish we could see the brew masters at work. 4 out of 5 stars, will definitely bring us back.

This restaurant space has been here a while, under various guises. Now it houses Leland Smoke House, a worthy addition to the ever-expanding commercial sprawl along the I-17 corridor. Walking in, you are immediately assailed by the delectable smell of smoked meats. It's a wide, cavernous space with plenty of seating, both tables and booths. Order at the counter, pay, then grab your drink and find a table. You get a place card holder with a name of a famous cowboy, to help the make sure the right food is delivered to the correct party. Tables are equipped with napkins and a carousel of sauces with a helpful description of each one. There's sure to be one for just about every palate. The drink nook has a variety of sodas and fruit drinks, and of course there are large containers of iced tea, both sweet and unsweet. This iced tea would make any Southern grandmother proud. Delicious on a warm February afternoon. Food favorites: the pulled pork; smoked chicken (dark meat); green beans and collards. My husband and mom liked the hushpuppies, which are served with a cinnamon honey butter dipping sauce. Restrooms are spacious and spotless, and the staff are personable and efficient. My only complaint was the music - the setting seemed perfect for country western, honky tonk, or bluegrass, but mediocre rock music came blasting out of the speakers. A missed opportunity to create real ambiance. Still, they have outdoor seating, so that's where I'll be next time I find myself at Leland Smoke House on a pleasant, sunny afternoon.

The drinks were good, and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh, and it's easy to see why this place is so popular. The only negatives were fairly minor. Due to the current cyclospora outbreak, they weren't serving coleslaw, which is completely understandable. However, every entrée in our party would normally have come with slaw, and we weren't offered a substitute or any sort of discount for the missing side. One person in our group also ordered a side of sausage and potatoes that never made it to the table. I also understand that fresh seafood prices can fluctuate, so market pricing makes sense. That said, for such a casual restaurant, I was surprised by how many items were marked as market price. It would be nice if there were a board or printed list showing the current prices so guests know what to expect before ordering. Despite those issues, the service and food were excellent, and we'd definitely come back. Solid 4 out of 5 stars.

This place checked all those boxes. We went on a Friday, great day for the fresh oyster special. Kids had wings, they were SO good (Dad tax). The vibe is SO cool, dive bar meets oyster bar. You can even see the battleship from the back patio. Since we found street parking we then adventured around and found a good spot for ice cream! Service was awesome too. 5 out of 5 Would Recommend!
