Well to our surprise/but not really surprised, just as mom was about to pay for her food a woman came back in Mayflower to return her food which had baby roaches crawling all over the outside of the box. The bugs could very well have been in the bag when they put the food box in, but either way bugs were not supposed to come with the order and this is unacceptable! He has been employed there for years. he was at our table as soon as we were seated to get our drink order and was on top of it our entire meal. Our food was pretty good. In town for father in law's leap year birthday. This facility was decided on for the family to sit and have an afternoon meal. There was no wait and were seated very quickly. Large enough area to sit the family, and our server was amazing. She is a Navy vet, which was even more impressive since most in the family are all vets, Marine and Air Force, and took care us made sure our food orders were correct. The booth that was given to us was big enough for our lil girl to run on lol to keep her occupied my wife and me got both the fried flounder and hush puppies and the baked potato is to die for make sure to get it loaded because they put a lot of cheese on it is amazing we got a lot of food and some to take home all under 40$ the kids meal was only 8$ and they loaded the plate with food. So this hurts me too say because you'd restaurant has gone down hill. I've been coming here since I was a kid when they were still beside the road. First of all service was and has been an issue lately. Our server didn't bring us menus for 10mins. Then did not seem interested and was off putting. Now the food I started with a ceaser salad that was forgettable. The dressing was runny and flavorless. I then ordered Steak and Shrimp. Visited this location on an early Sunday afternoon. It's kind of hidden behind another business off the road, which I think hurts their quantity of business. The building is older decor inside, and could use some updating, but it is clean nevertheless. We were promptly sat in a large corner booth, which was comfortable. Their soda machine wasn't working at the time, but that was okay because we ordered their tea (which was great!). Our order was taken and our food arrived after a short amount of time. The flounder, shrimp, and hush puppies were obviously fried in fresh oil, and were delicious! Not greasy, and just the right amount of salt and pepper on the fish. The loaded baked potatoes were also pleasing, as they had a decent amount of bacon and cheese other places usually skimp on. The tartar sauce they provide is also homemade and very good! Our service was great, and we didn't want for anything. The prices were MORE than fair. The kids popcorn shrimp plate was only 6.75 and a big portion! The flounder (regular) plate with hush puppies, potato and coke slaw was only 8.95...and nicely portioned as well. So when we arrived we were sat in a FILTHY booth. The server was nice and helpful.... HOWEVER, we ordered 2 steaks, a cheese burger and a broiled platter. BOTH steaks were cooked wrong AND rancid. All the broiled fish and scallops and oysters tasted bad. But the worat was my baby girls cheese burger. The meat was SO bad my 10 yr old took one bite and said "mom please taste this." It was WAY bad. Rancid and sour meat. We let our server know and she was amazing. We didn't eat but a few bites of our entrees before leaving. At the light I threw up. I ordered four dinners - two large flounder meals, and two large popcorn shrimp meals - two of the meals had baked potatoes. Please see the attached photos of our baked potatoes. They were BAKED this way in foil. Also, the flounder tasted like it was cooked in old grease, and it was tough as nails. ADDITIONALLY, the large flounder meals were basically a pile of small pieces. The platters are very plentiful. They gave us complimentary hush puppies that were freshly cooked and very good. I got the Combination Platter and chose the fried clams & fried shrimp. I requested that they be salt & peppered & they did so. They tasted great. I was not a fan of the homemade cocktail sauce. I seemed to be a little unique. It didn't taste like any cocktail sauce that I've had before. I seemed to have had some relish in it. It was kind of on the sweet side. It tasted a little similar to the tartar sauce that they have. I stop in at this restaurant at 1493 US-29 | Concord, NC 28025 after a long day at work, for a good meal and good customer service, I didn't receive any of it, to the point I had to leave, but before I left I asked to speak with the manager, because I believe and saw that we were being treated differently from the other guests. I asked to be seated to another booth because it was a draft, and high traffic area , the waitress claimed it wasn't another, in which I witnessed her seat 3 other couples of different ethnic in another booth that I requested . I asked to speak to the manager. I found out the waitress that seated us was the manager, at least she said she was. She gave a fake apology, I was with another person that was hungry. I waited while they ate, I had lost my appetite. The 2nd waitress that waited on us was hispanic. she or the manager didn't came back to check on us or the food after they drop it off at our table, They displayed that they were very prejudice. maybe not racist, but they definitely were prejudice. I will not patronize or go back to that restaurant again. It really put a damper on my evening. The food was not that good, in which I believe that was done on purpose too. The service was horrible. I can't recommend this place I could say more about this horrible experience. The manager and her employees need training in customer service, and the cooks need to know how to seasoned the food for every guest. read more

It's the one thing that's lacking where I live... I've eaten here too many times to count, and also at their Greensboro location... The servings are more than generous, the seafood is seasoned like no other place that I've been to, and to top it off, the prices are down right cheap for what you get... Someone pass along a message to the owners that I'll volunteer to be their first, or honorary customer if they ever plan on opening in South Jersey....
