Mmmhmm Went through the drive through, and no, it's not McDonald's, so expect to wait 5 mins or so.. Got the "super C" and was not disappointed, burger patties were seared perfectly fresh with that nice griddle crisp, yet still juicy. Cheese was that beautiful ooey gooey American cheese (yes cheese snobs, American cheese has its place). Fries were crinkle cut, fresh, and crispy. Some don't like crinkle cut but they offer the best surface area for crispyness. Other toppings were fresh as well and the cherry lemon sundrop was the perfect cut for the rich cheesy beef. It's not as good as it used to be-seems like they may have switched purveyors in the last year or two and I can tell a considerable difference. It's still decent but nowhere near where it used to be. Having lived here my entire life it's true Mr.c's is a local gem but recently there have been changes to the food they have me making the choice to go somewhere else instead. The quality of food has always been the draw and consistency but more recently they changed the style of french fries and they are just not as good. My kids used to ask to go there just for orders of their fries but not anymore. Then I have been getting the chicken salad for decades but now something has changed the entire flavor. It seems more wet and less chicken but most of all the strongest taste is of celery when it use to be the unique chicken flavor that you got.The only reason I visit now is for the potato wedges and onion rings while they are still the same and of course the cherry lemon Sundrop. Fried shrimp and on certain days Fried chicken livers. (Not my thing but it seems to draw a crowd). The interior has booths and chair seating. You could certainly come in with a crowd and have no trouble configuring seating. You order at the counter and we've always been met with efficient staff. Some friendlier than others but always efficient. I have always gotten the Deluxe cheese burger all the way. While my husband usually gets the Super C that has two hamburger patties and toppings. There's a few side you can get: french fries, potato wedges (my fav) and onion rings (the husband's favorite). I can't see anything negative about this place. Do you walk in your place your order they call your name within about a minute or two and you go find a table. My food partner had the flounder fish sandwich which was fresh fried fish on a brioche bun. She said the tartar sauce tasted great and she could tell it was homemade! First time ever eating here and I struggle to say I will try it again. Perhaps the chicken is better, but even my coworker said the chicken wings needed to be taken off the menu. We called in and picked up 5 separate lunch orders with mine being the famous Mr.C Cheeseburger. Well to say it was less than what I ordered is an understatement for quality. I asked for my burger with mayo, chili, slaw,and ketchup. None of which was added. I did, however, get a stale bun that was actually starting to dry out, some chopped lettuce that was already turning clear like it was sitting somewhere warmer than where it needed to be, a cool burger and enough onions to choke on, and so love onions! As time has gone on, I have noticed that 90% of restaurants the days following COVID, have gone way down hill with service and with quality standards. And this is yet another place that has disappointed beyond compare. I personally would not give my hard earned money to this establishment unless it was for Iced Tea. That part was very good. I'm surprised at the lackluster reviews considering this place is a SOLID choice. I actually decided to come in here because I SMELLED the scent of fish and chicken wafting from the restaurant to the rode as we drove by lol. From the outside, you'd think it was some drive-thru, quick-counter JOINT, but you open the doors and it's a full-fledged family establishment in there, spacious with tables and everything. The menu also had way more than I anticipated! I was fully expecting to grab a fish sandwich, but the more I stared at the chicken, the more I couldn't resist. I got The Snack, which is an absolutely PERFECT sized meal for me, 2 piece chicken (you can pick your pieces if you ask), mashed potatoes with yellow gravy and a roll FOR $6.35. I also got a Sweet Tea (cause in the south you GOTTA) and a Chocolate Dream slice. I wolfed down my little affordable meal like a fat happy kid and it was delicious! Even the mashed potatoes with gravy hit the spot, not like the cardboard-tasting ones you find up north at the hood chicken spots. The tartar sauce was REALLY good, which helped save my fish taste lol. My husband had the chicken, he said it was good and had flavor. He did order a extra breast, it was a very small breast but was only $1.79, so I guess he got what he paid for. My son got the shrimp.. now his shrimp were good as well.
