I got a cheerful welcome when I came in but the menu board is a confused array of burgers and sandwiches and stuff that goes with burgers and sandwiches and stuff... like salads, chef salads; a nice pile of crisp cut lettuce plus diced ham, tomato, onion, cucumber and shredded cheese that fills a 10-inch dinner plate almost two inches deep. come's with some crackers on the side plus a packet of Ken's dressing so you can wreck your own salad. my foot long hot dog came out a couple bites into the salad, pretty sure it wasn't quite a whole foot long either; tucked down into a toasted bun with slaw, onions and a chili that was more like a Maid-Rite made wrong. don't misunderstand here, I'm totally a fan of drier chili meats as they reduce the likelihood of ruined shirts and I need all the help I can get on this :-) dining room was a little chilly ahead of the arctic blast / polar vortex coming to town shortly. and between the comings and goings at front door and the drive-up window a constant breeze encouraged me to finish my review at home... read more

Disappointed does not even begin to describe how my experience was. I online ordered a BLT - checked the box for mayo. I received just a bacon and mayo sandwich. Lettuce and tomato are literally in the name of the sandwich. When I called to ask about the mistake, the person on the phone had a major attitude with me and told me I had to check the boxes for lettuce and tomato in order to get them on the sandwich. I didn't check the boxes for bacon either. Following that logic, I should have received just a mayo sandwich. She offered no solution and even told me that they were very busy in an effort to make me hang up. I asked for and spoke to a manager who basically said the same thing about checking the boxes for lettuce and tomato. Who in their right mind orders a BLT and asks to hold the L and T? Again - LITERALLY THE NAME OF THE SANDWICH. Manager said she'd give me one "next time" so I immediately drove back to get it. When they gave me my new sandwich there was no apology whatsoever, just glaring looks from the folks behind the counter. Do better. read more

I work nearby and eat here maybe once a month, the food is always good. Today I tried their online ordering and the menu must be super incorrect and messed up. I placed my order, selecting the options it told me to- sides, drink, the works. Then I get there and they told me that even though the menu item I selected allowed for a drink and multiple sides, they're not actually covered so I could either pay way more than the original price to get what ordered or they could give me less than what I ordered for the same price. Almost said cancel the whole thing because the online ordering menu really should be accurate so there's no surprises or increased in charges after I've already ordered off the menu THEY created and paid. Still a very good stop with lots of options, and fresh, prepared to order food. On this trip I got the Buffalo Chicken Philly with a side of coleslaw. The sandwich was piping hot, with a good Buffalo kick (but not too spicy), and fresh veggies and melty cheese. The coleslaw was pretty standard, but good. My wife got the Tuna in wheat. Tasty tuna salad and again, fresh tasting. She got the potato salad for her side and it is a nice-sized serving, and was very creamy and good. Usually I don't give bad reviews, but this time I had to. I placed my order and realized that a family that ordered after me received theirs before I did. I didn't say anything but I overheard someone mention my order. Instead of the cashier taking it back, she left it for a little while. Once she realized she messed up, she told the manager and the manager looked directly at me, so I knew what was going on. I get up to ensure that they wasn't going to transfer the order to take out trays and the cashier was putting my order in take out trays by the drive through window so I wouldn't see. I stood up, walked to the counter, and immediately the manager knew I was mad. I told them I refused to take that order after it was at another table. I made sure that my entire order was cooked over. It's disgusting and lazy trying to give me food that people was talking and breathing over. I'm sure they've done it to others but it needed to be said. The food was bland and wasn't worth it. I don't recommend and it will be my last time coming. read more

Mediocre food, great service. We decided to come here for a quick bite with the kids. I ordered a taco salad which was supposed to come with pico de gallo but didn't, so all I got was ground beef on lettuce in a taco bowl. The kids had a burger and chicken fingers. All of the fried stuff reeked of old and overused oil. In fact the whole restaurant smelled of old oil and by the end of our meal the whole place was making me nauseous because I just couldn't take the smell any more. The fries, the chicken and my taco bowl, all had that disgusting oil smell. The burgers were decent, but nothing too special to write home about. I do give them two stars in spite of the bad food because the service was exceptional and the two girls working up front were attentive and so sweet. Ok spot for a quick meal. The menu is huge! I got the Tex- mex burger with fries. Make sure you ask for the pico de Gallo on the side because it's very watery and will make the bun soggy. The burger was very small and underwhelming. It was dry and over cooked. The bun was untoasted and bland. There wasn't much of the other toppings. I couldn't really taste the pepper jack cheese or the chipotle sauce. Apparently the blackened chicken and chicken tenders are good so I will get one of those if I go back. read more

My client took me here for lunch after I told him I wanted a good burger. They have an end cap at a strip center and a small restaurant which is casual and crowded at lunchtime. I believe this is a small chain in the north Charlotte area. Their burgers are fresh and handpattied, according to the menu. I ordered the big daddy cheeseburger at the request of my client, he also ordered the same. The cheese burger comes with american, lettuce tomato and mayo, but you can add other toppings. It also comes with a aide for about 10.99. I took the burger as is, and requested shredded cheddar instead of American. The burger came out quickly, even though it was 3 freshly cooked patties, 1/3lb each. The patties are cooked well done, and they don't ask how you want them cooked. They don't seem to season them very much, if any, and I'm not a big fan of adding salt and pepper at the table. The cook should season the food. I chose their homemade chili for my side. The chili was a little different than I am used to eating. I'll just say it had a strong taste of tomato. Certainly not beefy like I am used to eating. read more

My wife and I were out exploring and discovered this littlle thumbnail of a restaurant tucked away in the back corner of the Harris Teeter shopping center. This unassuming grill was about to become our go to lunch place henceforward. Populated by workers on their lunch hour, we knew it had to be special because there was no one at the Subway next door. Stepping up to the counter we we're confronted with a menu almost too long and intriguing to take in at a glance. My wife's eyes were dRawn to the Carolina Philly Cheesesteaks and I was captured by pimento cheese burger. For ssides, my wife chose the vegetable soup and I went with the chili Both were homemade and delicious. The sandwiches were delicious and fresh off the grill. The cheesesteak could have filled two rolls and the pimento cheeseburger was juicy and just the right amount of cheese. We will be back again and again. We're retired and can do that. read more

Wow..what a surprise that we happened upon this place while out yesterday! I've driven past numerous times after shopping at Harris Teeter. We decided to try it for lunch. I got the cheeseburger and fries, other family members got the same and corned beef sandwich. The first bite of the burger I knew we made a good choice...fresh ground beef, grilled nicely with great condiments that weren't overpowering. The crinkle cut fries were tasty as well. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we noted how busy the lunch crowd was..standing room only...a sign of good food. Staff was great & kept popping round to ensure all was good...we gave our thumbs up@ One recommendation is that a beer would taste so good with the burger but not necessary. This place is really good burgers but I would not call it the best burgers in concord. It has about 8 1/2 out of ten cheeseburgers and 8 out of ten fries. The French fries have a tasty seasoning but the seasoning could have more salt. The seating selection and space was kinda small but they managed it well. Stopped by for a late lunch and there were only a few people in the place. A pretty wide variety of menu items to pick from so I selected the taco salad with grilled chicken. Unsweetened tea to drink was very good. My order came out with minimal wait and tasted great. I will be back to check out more of the menu items soon !! Just drove down to Concord from Winston Salem to see my kids. My son and I came to Fresh off the grill to eat. They have a great menu to choose from. I tried the new Tex Mex Burger. The burger was great. Everything on the burger went well together. The pico de gallo was amazing. The chipotle sauce paired up well along side pepper jack cheese. We called in a pick up order at the 5303 Poplar Tent location. Big mistake! The food and service are completely different (in a bad way) at this location. I should have known when it took Haley 15 minutes to take the order that I should have hung up and tried somewhere else. I repeated our 2- buffalo chicken tenders order at least 4 times. I even asked her how spicy the buffalo chicken tenders were and she said they were tossed in mild sauce. Fast forward to picking up the order...super fast and convenient right?!?! Not if they forgot to put the order in for buffalo chicken tenders. My bad...I should have checked the order before I left. I did not think it was that complicated and I'd already wasted 15 minutes on the phone. So I call back to let them know our order was incorrect...I'm placed on hold and end up talking to three different employees. End result I have to drive back to pick up our correct order and am informed, "we replaced your meal!" You didn't replace my meal. You gave me what I ordered and paid $22 for. Never mind my time, my gas and the food was not even good. Anyway if your looking for a quick pick up order and good customer service...this isn't the place. Zaxby's and Chick-fil-A are both much better. BTW...in case you're wondering if they were busy, there were two families in there and one of them were saying their order was wrong as well. The last time I was in there it must have been over 100 degrees!. As we quickly ate, my 8 year old son actually said that he felt bad for the people behind the counter, that's bad. Second, be prepared to get at least 1/2 of your order wrong, it's like surprise - here's what you get to eat!.Then there is the smell. I hate to say what it smells like but it is not good. The only good thing that I can say is that the one time that my order was correct, the food was really good. Who owns this place? the ladies that took my order were nice. i ordered a blackened chicken sandwich and side salad with two ranches. i got one ranch, and the side salad was sooo basic. the blackened chicken was good, but the bacon i ordered on my sandwich was all fat pretty much. i had forgot to order cheese on my sandwich so i asked the ladies for a piece of cheese. they rang me up for it (which i understand) then it took literally 10 minutes for them to hand me the cheese. my food was cold by the time i got the cheese so i just didn't use it. my sandwich came in a paper basket and i kept getting paper in my mouth cause it was wet from my sandwich. the lady checked on us once to ask if we want refills but that was when we were done eating. i'm really not trying to sound too rude, this place has a lot of potential - step up your flavor in the food and try a little harder. or hire someone else to help out. read more
