Service was very attentive as soon as we walked in. Seated and greeted. Comfort food with quality and quantity. Service was polite all around. Cornbread was my favorite bread! Fried chicken was crispy and juicy, exactly what I was craving. The kiddos loved the tenders and the sides.
Was wanting some southern fried chicken and all the fixins while I'm here visiting in the South and the place we were originally headed to was closed, so we decided to stop here at Johnny's Farm House. Glad we did; it did not disappoint! My friend and I shared half a chicken platter ($15.99) since she likes the light meat and I like the dark. It came with either a biscuit or cornbread and two sides. We got the biscuit and cabbage and fried squash as the two sides and then ordered two extra sides ($3.95 each) of collard greens and mac and cheese. The "half a chicken" came with 5 pieces; the breast cut in two pieces, two wings, and a drumstick (missing the thigh and since when did a chicken have two wings on one side?!). Regardless, the chicken was crispy, well seasoned, and not greasy at all; delicious! I like my collard greens cooked a bit longer with a bit more seasoning, but it tasted healthy. The mac and cheese didn't have that cheesy crusty top I like on my mac and cheese, but it was rich and tasty. As others have mentioned, the portions are big, so expect leftovers! They have daily specials and I'd love to go back on a Tuesday to try their chicken and dumplings!
Delicious southern comfort food. The service was great, our hostess and waitress were very friendly and kind. The resturant is spacious, which can accommodate a larger family and a variety of options to choose from for everyone to pick from.

This place is right next to my doctors office. I wanted to try their chicken pot pie but wasn't serving it that day. I ordered the blackberry jam Cheeseburger but unfortunately they got my order wrong and gave me a regular cheeseburger. So the service is good but check your order before you leave. The burger was still good but I really wanted to try that blackberry burger.
A family member recommended this place and I wasn't sure what to expect. But I was definitely pleasantly surprised and plan to return again to try some other menu items. Our party of 6 arrived late morning on Father's Day without a reservation. We were quickly seated after a minimal wait. Our server came to our table promptly and continued to check on us frequently throughout our meal. All of our food was delicious. They were able to accommodate my son's gluten free diet. The only issue we had was that our meals did not all come out at once. My mom's meal never came out at all. When she spoke to our server, she asked for something completely different and that came out quickly. Our server assured us that her meal would be taken care of completely (which it was) due to the issue. Other than that, it was a great experience. After we finished eating, we sat and talked. Nobody ever made us feel rushed to leave even though the restaurant was getting busier. The next time we visit, I plan to try one of the many delicious desserts they sell.
Not many restaurants have the guts to put something totally unique on the menu. When I go out, those unique and signature items are the things I look for. The BlackBerry Jam burger was really really good. The jam really complimented the savory beef, bacon and cheese so well. Think Monte Cristo sandwich or a sweet apple chutney on your pork chop and you'll get what I'm saying. On top of all this yummy food, the service was phenomenal! Super friendly and fast. I loved every minute of my meal there. I'm also gonna tell everyone I know about it.
I cannot believe it's taken me this long to write a review for Johnny's Farm House. We've been eating here since it opened. We've always said it's like eating at Cracker Barrel without the wait. The menu of down home main courses and "fixings" is large so even your pickiest eaters should be able to find something to eat. Food is always hot and fresh and the tea will please any good Southerner. The staff has always been attentive and courteous. But of late, I think they've been having a staffing shortage. That's not to say the waiters/waitresses are not attentive and courteous. The ones that have shown up to work are just busting their behinds to get it all done, so it may take a bit longer for your tea to be refilled. I recommend if you're looking for some tasty country cookin' that you give them a try.

However, they said they were sold out for the day. Two of us tried ordering something else but were told those were unavailable as well. We survived and tried some other items. Everything was edible but nothing to write home about, mostly bland and gummy. My main issue was the service. One of my party has obvious mobility issues and was not accommodated. We asked for a closer table and were denied. It was a very awkward experience including our packing up to leave. We won't return as there are plenty of options with similar food in the area. Maybe it was just a lazy night and light staff but we did not feel welcome and felt like we got the bottom of the barrel. Literally, we didn't even get refills on our teas.

The Heat was out and it really felt like a true Farmhouse BUT the food was hot & fantastic! I had a taste for Liver & Onions and got extra onions. It was tinder & didn't really need a knife. Mom got the catfish (well done) and she said it could have had a bit more seasoning but it was tasty. We will eat here again. Especially when the Heat is fixed! read more

We've eaten here quite a few times, but since their menu change, things have gone down hill. I don't know if they got a new cook for weeknights, but they do *not* know how to cook a steak or burger. Husband ordered his $30 ribeye medium rare. It came out well done throughout the majority of the steak, which is frankly inedible and extremely hard to chew. I ordered the blackberry jam burger, which *was* my favorite thing on the menu, but no longer is. I used to get a well seasoned, thick patty with good bacon on it, but this affront to humanity was about a third an inch thick, dryer than sawdust with bacon that crumbled when you looked at it funny let alone tried to eat it. The poor waitress was too overrun with tables to keep my water glass filled so I nearly died from how dry my burger was. I ended up trying to eat it without the bun, but that didn't make it any better. "Farm to table burgers?" More like it was a bubba burger they murdered with a spatula. Pretty much every side tasted like it was at least a day old, which is highly unusual and made their famous broccoli cheese casserole inedible as well. Which was extremely disappointing because that's my favorite thing in the world. The manager at least comped my husband's steak, but made me pay for my burger. read more

Whenever we ride by we see the full parking lot, so my boys wanted to see what all the fuss was about, and boy are we glad we did. Johnnys Farm House has a full menu of delectable mouthwatering dishes that are the next best thing to a home cooked meal. My son and I ordered the Hamburger steak which came out piping hot smothered in mushroom & onion delicious gravy goodness. My grandson ordered a cheese burger and fries which he said was quite tasty, and I have to mention the Ice Tea which was excellent! The restaurant is clean, the food is cooked to order and our waitress Carolina was knowledgable of the menu and very friendly. If you're in the Concord area, Johnny's Farm House is a must do! read more

This place is Cracker Barrel's sister. Lol I had their chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and corn and something that they called a corn bread biscuit. I had their deep fried zucchini slices which were more impressive than the meal itself. The service was excellent as were the turnaround times for the food. I've got to tell you that the chicken fried steak was about the size of a hamburger patty, not impressed. The corn was good the mashed potatoes were not impressive not seasoned whatsoever. And that cornbread muffin, they should be ashamed of themselves. read more

The atmosphere here is nice homely and old fashioned (in a good way). Went here with my class consisted of young children with autism for a field trip and service was outstanding and understanding for them. I was very impressed and I hope I get a chance to come back soon. read more

Very family friendly country style local restaurant with plenty of parking & seating inside the restaurant. Our waitress was attentive & prompt. The food was good with a nice plate presentation. We would return to try some of their daily specials. read more
Good Service and Good Comfort Food Drove over from Davidson after Church today to give this place a try. Timing worked out great because the don't open till 11 am on Sundays and we got there shortly after the open. Walked in and it kind of reminds you of a Cracker Barrel without a gift shop or the China Grove Family House. Lot's of collectibles from years past designed to give a nostalgia effect. We were seated pretty quickly in a nice booth and our server was there shortly to take our drink order and to present us with our menu's. I ordered the 1/2 and 1/2 tea and it was still a bit on the sweet side until I mixed it up and then it worked out. Menu is very impressive. Both of us love comfort food and this place has plenty of it and a great variety. I ordered the Fried Chicken with White Gravy, Cucumber Salad and Fried Okra. Chicken was nice and moist with good taste and texture, Cucumber Salad had a good vinegary tang to it. Fried Okra was the only disappointment and that was because it had very little taste or texture. My wife ordered the open faces Roast Beef Sandwich with gravy and Okra as a side and also a slice of Cheesecake to go at the end. She loved the Roast Beef Sandwich and portions were so large, she ended up with to go bag for another day. Good food, Good service and all at a reasonable price. read more

I ordered the deluxe hot dog combo for lunch. This meal is the perfect proportion. I am pleasantly full. I love the fries & normally I'm not a huge fan of slaw but there's is really good. I'd like to try some other things on their menu. read more
Another great Yelp find. This is really great comfort food and hit the spot on a rainy night. Think Cracker Barrell but better. We had a large group. They don't take reservations, but we called ahead to see how busy they were. We ended up waiting about 15-20 minutes which isn't bad for a Saturday night. The menu has a lot of variety. Think country dishes and fried chicken and seafood. There are options for everyone including vegetarian and low-carb. And many things can come grilled. I ordered the grilled pork tenderloin with sawmill gravy, colllard greens, roasted baby potatoes and cornbread. Everything was tasty. Pork was tender and well-seasoned. Sides were delicious as well. Come hungry. The portions are huge and it's affordable. Service was great. All orders were correct which is hard to do with a large group. They even switched the TV for us. My husband wants to go back already. read more
