My wife and I always have a great experience at Maya Bistro. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming and the staff is extremely professional. We have known the owners of the restaurant for years now and the quality of their food never fails to meet and exceed our expectations of a delicious, traditional Middle Eastern dinner. We highly recommend Maya Bistro to those that have yet to try the variety of tasty options on the menu. read more

Great brand new Turkish Restaurant conveniently located right off of Lee Hwy in Arlington. It was my first time there. I tried the lentil soup and Beyti Kabob. As a Turkish person knowing how real Turkish food taste, I m really picky about the Turkish food. read more

I've been looking for a good Turkish and Mediterranean restaurant in the neighborhood for a while and finally I found what I need. Not only is the food amazing but also the prices are pretty fair. I remember paying almost double prices at other Mediterranean restaurants and never having the food that suits my taste. I've been there twice and it looks Maya Bistro will be my weekly routine from now on. Not to mention kind staff and fast service that make you feel at home and boost your mood. The whole place, tables, chairs, dishes and even restrooms are super clean. Thanks for the amazing food and your hospitality... read more

I am shooting myself that I have not been here before. Heard it was good but the food surpassed all of my expectations. The honey vinegar sauce on the grilled calamari was so fresh and vibrant I finished the plate mopping up every last drop with the fresh warm breads provided to the table. The Imam Bayildi, a cold mezze with eggplant and a topping of tomato, pine nuts , onion and garlic was terrific as well. My wife had the Chicken Yogurt and I had the Beyti Yogurt. Great blend of flavors. Took the leftovers home, just had it for breakfast (could not wait for lunch) and felt compelled to write this review. Excellent meal. read more

Excellent! Fantastic food and professional service! I will be back for more. Best dolmas I ever had...

Nice atmosphere and good service. Ordered the lamb chops medium. What came was medium well to well done. Disappointing given it is the most expensive item on the menu. read more

While visiting Marymount University in Arlington, VA, my significant other and I decided to grab dinner at Maya Bistro. This was our first visit and we had a wonderful dining experience. We were greeted at the door by our waiter Mr. Mesut, who promptly seated us. The atmospheric affect was most classy yet comfortable. Mr. Mesut was most patient as our familiarity with Mediterranean cuisine is most limited. He patiently answered our questions and thoroughly rendered more than adequate explanation. My significant other ordered the baked zucchini and I had the branzino (sea bass). Both meals were delicious and seasoned to perfection. We had a wonderful dining experience and vowed to return in the near future. Our compliments to Mr. Mesut, the Chef and the entire Maya Bistro staff. See you soon! Dr. Brian Easley. read more

Great neighborhood restaurant! We discovered this place during covid and did take out initially. The food is incredible, very fresh. We then started eating outside, staff is very friendly. This has become one of our favorite go to places. read more

I ate here a couple of days ago, food and service were simply amazing. This family driven restaurant offers a selection of authentic, easy and tasty Mediterranean and Turkish foods. A must try restaurant when visiting Arlington. I loved the appetizing tastes of Mezes. Because I was too full for dessert, I couldn't taste the desserts. read more

We had lunch at Maya Bistro and the whole experience was delightful! The restaurant was light and airy, the service flawless, and the food was delicious and attractively plated. My moussaka was accompanied by fresh grated vegetables in beautiful colors, and was delicious! Our lunch experience could not have been better! read more

One of the best Mediterranean food you can find in Arlington, VA. Quality and quantity were excellent. Absolutely recommended.

Highly recommend Maya Bistro, an authentic homemade family owned Turkish restaurant bursting with flavor. Service was excellent and friendly and the food divine. Definitely recommend the mezze platter to share a sampling of the amazing dips with the made from scratch Turkish bread. Also try the stuffed zucchini and dumplings. Incredible!! Will definitely be back very soon!!!! read more

I had high expectations after such high reviews but found the food just decent and very overpriced. Plan on spending $20 for a salad and over $20 for a kabob platter but food no better than Moby Dicks. read more

We wanted to try something new and ordered delivery. Everything was great. We enjoyed the flat bread, moussaka, calamari and zucchini cake. Baklava was yummy too. Looking forward to eating leftovers for tomorrow's lunch already! read more

Good food excellent service. I'd go back. The olive tapenade provided with the complimentary bread basket was delicious.

We got takeout last night and it was great! Some highlights were the manti and the dip sampler. The zucchini cakes were awesome! The falafel was a bit meh, but the rest more than made up for it! read more

The spinach and brussel sprout mezzas are excellent. (I am vegetarian so didn't try the meat dishes).

Went to this restaurant near closing time and the wait still staff was still courteous and seated me. Looked over the menu and everything sounded really good but the Adana Yogurt really caught my eye so I decided to give it a try. Boy was it a good choice! The meat was nice and Juicy and the yogurt and tomato sauce really complimented the meat really well. The meal had breadcrumbs at the bottom of the dish and added a nice crunch to the dish. Really good hopefully will be visiting again soon! read more

Absolutely delicious and fresh. Highly recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere was nice & the restaurant was cozy and clean. A+ for service. read more

Visited this restaurant just a few days after its opening. The food was good and the ambiance nice, except that there is no waiting area at the entry so folks were standing around waiting for their tables very close to diners. The host and server were warm and welcoming. However, the restaurant was packed, and they were not prepared for it. They were apologetic about the wait for water refills and the bill, and even comped an item for us. I think once they work out the kinks, the service will improve. Hopefully 5 stars next time! read more

I'm so happy I took the advice of my neighbors and tried Maya Bistro for the first time. The prices are very fair and the food was absolutely delicious! I encourage anyone who is looking to eat wonderful food as well as support a local business to try Maya Bistro. Currently you have the option of either carry-out or delivery due to the coronavirus pandemic. Please don't hesitate to support them! Thanks read more

Love this new place! We've visited twice and ordered take out once. They have sustained our positive first impress and dinning experience. Service team is knowledgeable and hospitable. Food was wonderful and better then many meals we enjoyed on travels to Turkey. Thank you Maya Bistro and look forward to many more great meals with you! And bravo to 1/2 price Monday wine night. read more

Highly recommend! Delicious fried calamari, falafel and hummus appetizers. Mixed grill for two was very good especially with the addition of extra yogurt dipping sauce. Others in our party loved the shrimp entree, the Adana ground beef/lamb loaf and the tender Branzino (whole fish). The apricot dessert was fabulous and easy to share. Excellent service from Bianca and appreciated family chefs and owners. We will happily return! read more

Where can I start!! Amazing family run restaurant. You feel like home when you walk-in. The food was delicious. Hummus was great, you can tell it's home made. Lamb chops are just awesome (strongly recommend it). The turkish dumplings tasted so good as well as the sausage flatbread. The kunefe was so good. The service was fast which is great read more

First time patron, will be repeat customer. Wife and I had a nice experience with a reasonably priced Pinot Grigio, Maya Mezzez, lamb chop platter (with a nice salad), baklava and great service. Packed house Friday evening but wait staff worked it really well. We even got complimentary Turkish tea. Only thing is that parking is limited. Overall a solid choice. Next time, it will be a full family visit! read more

Great food, ambience and service. Contemporary yet cozy atmosphere. Service was excellent. Attentive but not overbearing. Helpful in menu selection. But let's get to the food. Largely a scratch kitchen, the food was fresh, flavorful and interesting. We started with the hummus and baba Ganoush dips - delicious with warm bread that was to die for. Then we had the shish kebab chicken with Shepard salad - full of taste but light and plentiful, as well as the spinach pie which my son loved. Wine list is short but offers something to suit everyone and wines were good and reasonably priced. This was our first time here and we will definitely be back very soon. read more

Maya is a wonderful restaurant. It is quiet so you can talk. The food was scrumptious - everything was fresh and well-prepared. The service was friendly and we were not rushed. I looking forward to returning. read more

Took my friend here for dinner, as her friend recommended it. It is mainly Turkish food that is served here. Seems pretty new and in a strip mall along route 29. The interior had a modern look with dark oak colors dominating. A bar sits on the back wall as you enter. The food choices were good. They have specials for 2 or 4 people too. We ordered Hummus, a Moussaka dish, and a Turkish thin bread pizza with lamb, onions and tomatoes. The flat bread dish was pretty healthy and tasty. it was well cooked and not too spicy. The hummus tasted fresh and had sprinkling of pomegranate seeds. My friend liked the Moussaka dish that came with a salad. It is similar to Italian Lasagna dish. Service was prompt and friendly. read more

I'd say they should get a 4.5 stars. food was good. Everything is prepared and cooked there. Not to much and not to little. Serve was great. Parking was difficult. A few parking spaces and then fend for yourself on the street. For one person it was 41.80. Not cheap for lunch. I'd go back. Better to spend money on good food then spend less on terrible food. read more

The type of place we've been wanting on Lee Hwy. Food and service excellent. Wr had the Turkish flatbread and the salmon salad. Good Turkish wine too. read more

Really excellent dinner and great addition to the neighborhood! We had calamari and beet salad to start and then four different entrees, all excellent. My kids enjoyed theirs so very family friendly and did have kids options for younger or pickier eaters. My husband loved the baklava and we also enjoyed the pear dessert. Service excellent! We see adding this to our regular rotation. read more

Superb food, staff and atmosphere! Tried three different dishes and hands down, all were absolutely delicious!!!

I'm always in the lookout for good Turkish restaurants and am thrilled that a new one has opened in Arlington. I've gone for both brunch and dinner. The staff is very friendly. It's a Turkish family and the traditional hospitality shines through, especially when it's less crowded and they have more time to focus on you. For brunch, we ordered the Turkish traditional breakfast to share in the middle of the table (olives, cucumbers, honey and jam, bread, beyaz peynir/feta cheese). It was simple, but delicious. We coupled that with Maya meze for two (there were the of us) and of course endless glasses of tea. That really would have been enough, but I wanted to try as much as possible and and there were some favorites on the menu. Menemen (scrambled eggs with tomatoes and peppers) was a tad bit bland, but still satisfying. The çılbır looked good, but definitely needs lots of bread to sop up the egg yolk and tomato/yogurt sauce. For dinner, we did the mixed meze again. I love the sigara böreği (maya cigars, I think), the roasted eggplant with pomegranate and the red pepper and feta spread. Friends were really impressed with the grape leaf dolma. Separately, I added mücver (zucchini patties). They were excellent. I could add a side of rice and make a meal of it. The güveç (vegetable stew) had the right flavor, but something was missing. I hear spinach pie is the way to go. Their tea and baklava are fantastic. It's not too syrupy sweet. I look forward to trying more when I return. They are still new, open about a month, but they seem to be doing well, have the service down, and are on their way to becoming a local favorite. read more

We really enjoyed our lunch here. The space is bright and pretty, service was very quick and attentive. Homemade pita bread with a little olive spread was brought to our table to start. We ordered two sandwiches (only served at lunchtime): the Adana and Kofte, both of which are beef/lamb based. The flavors of both were excellent, the Adana juicy and succulent, the Kofte patties delicious but a bit overcooked in my view. We each got the Shepherd salad as a side dish, which was lovely--fresh, cut to a nice size, with a nice vinaigrette. Our meal was simple but graciously served. We are neighbors of this sweet little place and we'll be back! read more
