I have been going there for about three years now. Jeremy and his staff were recommended to me by another company that I was doing business with. Jeremy and his team have alway been upfront with me about the problems my cars have. He has always given me different options that they can do to fix the problems. I broke down on the road, called Maximum, they had me in and out back on the road quick. And it didn't cost much either. I thought it would be much more for an emergency squeeze in like that. I took my 148k miles car to Maximum Automotive on a Saturday to have an AC compressor replaced and after agreeing to the quoted price, they went ahead with the job while I waited. Once they were done they were backing out of the bay and I knew that thing had not gone as expected when a minute later I saw five mechanics with their heads under the hood and a pool of oil on the floor. They apologized and told me that they would have to take some parts off to identify what had happened. It turned out that they had cracked an oil port while re-attaching the new AC compressor. They were understandably embarrassed but told me that they would make it good. I understand that things go wrong and that businesses should be given the opportunity to fix their mistakes. By the end of business on the following Monday they had removed the engine, power-washed it and then had the crack welded. The AC is running perfectly and there are no oil leaks. They also gave me a year warranty on their repair and a $150 discount on the AC repair for my inconvenience. I will certainly use them again and would recommend them to friends and family. read more

One of the worst experiences! You know the auto repair place that you worry if they will rip you off? This is the one. I specifically reviewed the quote (price, PARTS, and labor) with Casey there. I wrote it down and I repeated it to him over the phone. A Jeep lift kit for my ex-girlfriend TO INCLUDE the spacers for the tires so they would not rub against the wheel wells when turning. I drove it home after the rip off repair and Casey did not include the spacers he told me he would and just blabbed about how much they did for free. The brand new tires grinded against the wheel wells and my ex had to fix them out on the road as she relocated to AZ. 1st...Casey LIED by saying he did not include spacers in the quote!!! And challenged me saying I had nothing in writing from him. 2nd ...no reputable mechanic would do a half azz job like this and let a vehicle leave their shop with tires grinding against the wheel wells after they put in a Jeep lift kit. This is dangerous and totally unprofessional lWARNING....stay away from this place especially my fellow Jeepers! read more

Typical auto shop. Wouldn't take my German car back there that's for sure. It all started with a simple alignment. To perform the alignment, they need to loosen bolts to make adjustments to the suspension. During that process, they broke a bolt off on the lower control arm that made the car unsafe to drive. Maximum Automotive blames the bolt/audi saying it must have been a defective bolt. The shop never tried to brake the bolt loose with PB blaster or anything like that. They just torqued on the bolt and broke it off. What really gripes me is that this bolt was in a tight spot, requiring them to drop my gas tank to remove the bolt. After the broken bolt was removed, Instead of putting the replacement bolt in the same way it came out, they decided to take the easy route and put the new bolt in the opposite way. To me, this tells a lot about how the shop operates as a whole. Wouldn't go back or recommend them to anyone. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for 8am Tuesday morning to have an alignment done on my Jeep after I had a lift kit installed. For convenience sake I had dropped my Jeep off the night prior in hopes they could get started on it earlier and was told it would be done by 10am. The next morning I hadn't received any updates so I called and was told it wouldn't be done until noon because they bumped things up ahead of me even though I had made a scheduled time to have it done a week prior. I was told the alignment couldn't be done because the kit was installed incorrectly, my ball joints were bad, and my control arms weren't adjusted properly. I brought the Jeep into another mechanics shop and was told my ball joints were fine and nothing was wrong with the lift kit and there was nothing wrong with the ball joints prohibiting them from doing an alignment. I would not trust this shop to do any work on my vehicles in the future after wasting my time driving back and forth for something as simple as an alignment that they would lie about. read more

I was very surprised to see the negative feedback on Maximum Automotive, though auto repair is always such a hard thing to spend money on, no one is really ever happy about it. Our car suddenly had engine problems, it was towed to another shop, who told us it wasn't worth repairing, it was devastating. On a friend's recommendation we had it towed to Maximum. From the first moment Jeremy and the whole staff were empathetic and honest about everything. He said our car could and should be repaired, and in less than three days we had our car back the engine completely repaired and like a new car again. Was it cheap? No, but quality and honestly are worth the investment. I don't hesitate to always go to Maximum Automotive for our auto repairs now and in the future. read more

While installing the new tires I recently purchased online, from TireRack, the installer broke one of the tire pressure monitors (on a 2010 Toyota Sienna), and MA charged me an additional $100 for a new monitor. They gave me no choice, no options, told me it was government mandated, and I had to pay for it. I complained but he shrugged his shoulders, said "sometimes it happens and there is nothing we can do about it", and told me the 'good news' was that they only broke 1 of them. If they had broken all 4, it could have been $400. This doesn't seem fair or right to me. What choice did I have? I paid the extra $100 just to get my car back. We just left Shorewood to head to the dells with r 3 kids at 8am July 8th 2014. At 8 45 on rt 59 r surburban started making wierd noise..We were referred to maximum auto on Ogden av..We pulled in and the owner Jeremy took it for a ride.Are right front tire was very loose we needed right front bearing..They went to napa got the part fixed it and we were on the road again at 9 45am....What service that was...,and fair price...thank you Jeremy and all your employees at maximum auto on Ogden ave in Naperville....we are on the road again... Buyer Beware. They quoted me an average price for my repair and then when they were to start - SURPRISE SURPRISE the actual cost would be DOUBLE as they claimed that 2 related parts was "completely non functioning." They insisted that I must replace everything right now or the "non functioning" parts would destroy the other new parts almost immediately. Sounded a little fishy to me so I went to a highly respected dealer and they found absolutely nothing wrong with the exact 2 parts that Maximum said were "completely non functioning." Dealer completed the job at a much lower cost, too. I won't go back to Maximum Automotive. read more

This place is an absolute joke. The technicians there do not know what they are talking about or what they are doing. Service is way overpriced for a job that is not done well or properly. The owner isn't very friendly and is clear he doesn't care about cars because all of his own are beat to heck. Would not trust this shop with any job at all let alone handling my car very poor service would rather trust a pepboys before these guys they are a joke. read more

I highly recommend Maximum Automotive for any of your car needs. I brought my car in for an alinement and the mechanic showed me how my subframe was rusted through and was in really bad shape. To the point that it unsafe to be driving. There were a few other items that needed to be repaired as well but I was expecting those. The estimate was fair, but more than I was able to cover. I told them I would need to work some things out first. They stressed how important it was not to drive the car around and just keep it parked until I could fix it. Once home, I received a voicemail from them letting me know about a recall on the subframe and told me to call the dealership service department right away to get fixed. I was so impressed with their level of care and concern for the safety of my family. They also helped me out by listing what items should be done in what order if I needed to split up the repairs in stages. After I had the dealership replace my subframe I drove right back over for them to finish the other work! I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. read more
