I was 28 years old, had finished dental school and was running my own office. The stress had built up and my body was beginning to feel it. My doctor told me I had 6 months to get my blood pressure down or else I was looking at medications to control. Being 28 yrs old, I was discouraged I had the body of a 60 yr old. A patient of mine referred me to Fitness Together and within 2 months my back pain was gone. They adjusted my workout to build my core and counter the work related trauma I was causing by repetitive stress injuries related to dentistry. Moreover, by my 6 month appointment with my physician to check my blood pressure, I was back to 124/80. My doctor was shocked, as was I. I told her I was going to Fitness Together, but I wasn't sure how long I was going to continue. She put it to me this way, either you continue with Fitness Together or you end up on medication. But I was healthier, felt better, and more fit. I've been with them now for over a year, and highly recommend them. This note is over due, but last week I developed tendonitis in my right hand, and strained my right shoulder. John from Fitness Together again readjusted my workout and within a few days my shoulder was back to normal. I don't know how to thank them enough for all their help. Mina Joseph Kaddis, DMD

In November of 2008 I started working out at Fitness Together three times a week. My surgery was a complete success due in part to the strength I had developed during my workouts. My recovery was shorter as was my physical therapy and I am now still working out twice a week at Fitness Together. My experience there has made me realize and commit to daily exercise and a healthy lifestyle for the rest of my life. I just can't say enough about the trainers and their skill and sensitivity to your personal needs. Yes, you can and should experience this unique program of "one client, one trainer, one goal."

As a runner I was looking for a workout that would help me strengthen my running not only thru…read morerunning drills but also an all body workout. Plus coaches who were knowledgeable enough to help improve form and be supportive without trying to control very last thing. And I was looking for a gym/program/studio that had a community and actively fostered it. OTF Natick has been the perfect location and has the ideal team to give me what I need when I need it. It says something that members themselves have evolved into coaches who know the ins and outs of working thru a 60-minute workout. While the running drills on the treadmills are my 'bread and butter', it's the rower and the floor where I get the biggest benefit. The routines are varied day to day. Different focus and different personal challenges. You're never trying to keep up with the person next to you (although everyone I workout next to inspires me to go a little harder). The strength and endurance workout on floor and rower push me and improve me every time. By the time I get on a tread (I do this last to practice running fatigued), I'm warmed up and able to push myself that bit harder. Recent results? I've decreased my road miles from 20 to about 12 a week to do the OTF Transformation Challenge at the moment. So most runs are 1.5-2 miles in the 3G classes I typically do. Last Sunday participated in a 5M race I've done for the last 6 years. Beat my best time on the course by 15 seconds. That's the results from OTF Natick But what makes the studio hum is the energy that the coaches bring into every class. They have built (I've been a member there for 3 years and workout among many who've been regulars since the studio opened) a real community feel to every workout. There is the mingling pre-class, the class outline with what to watch for and highlights (and possible lowlights). In class warm up, station by station walk thrus and in-block encouragement. But what always amazes me is the way the coach spreads their attention to the details of every participants workout. Not by crowding in on an individual or calling people out from across the room. Just the subtle, quiet hint or tip on how to fix form or increase a challenge. Always encouraging. Always celebrating. The studio under Jam has elevated an already great atmosphere and community feeling to new levels - creating a communal atmosphere thru social channels (the recent Transformation Challenge Miles Logged week had people logging miles at all hours of the day in an effort to boost their team score) & notes of gratitude for staff and members alike in the studio lobby. If you're like me, you want a gym or workout that doesn't intimidate. That challenges you to your next best level. And that lifts you when you need it, celebrates when you win the smallest of achievements, and embraces you for who you are and what you bring to each class. That is what I've found at OTF Natick and with their top team of coaching and support staff.

I initially took the elite package ( 8 classes per month ) with the aim of taking up two classes per week as I had a gym membership at another gym as well. I went for a couple of months and I really started enjoying the classes. I always felt all the coaches kept motivating me to keep pushing and I kept improving in every class. Once I was done with around 16 classes I thought of upgrading to the Unlimited classes package with the aim of going to at least three classes per week but I ended up going for at least five classes a week. I never thought I would be able to come this far when I started otf. The classes are planned in such a way that you never get bored and you are always challenged to give your best. Many a times I come to the class thinking I should take it light but the moment the class starts I feel motivated. So far I had attended all the classes like 2g, 3g, lift 45 and every class is so unique and helps you to focus on cardio as well as strength training. Currently I am doing the transformation challenge and I make it a point to stay consistent and I feel otf has really improved my endurance and strength in general and keeps me active throughout the day. Special mention to my coaches Sarah, Nikki, Marissa, Jam each and everyone is amazing and sometimes I feel it's more like a dance class than a workout class . Our studio manager Nicole as well as the folks in the front desk are so welcoming. I definitely recommend otf Natick to anyone who wants to add a healthy and a fun fitness journey into their daily routine.

I asked very nicely if they could take it in the hall or common area, it's posted as a rule not to talk on the floor. He looked at me like he wanted to kill me and kept talking. Spencer, a trainer, was about 10 feet away. I asked him if he could please tell him to not take a call here. He said he couldn't. He could do it later. I said I don't understand, it would take 3 seconds to ask, you just talked to me longer than that, just ask him please. He said he couldn't, in a way that seemed like teasing, like he was tying to make me feel petty for asking. I went downstairs and complained to the person at the desk. When I went back upstairs Spencer came right up to me and said he asked him and he hung up the phone. It was obvious now he had been teasing me, because he came right up to me to try to patch it over. No one likes to be ridiculed. This is the first time something like this happened. There is a man there who stares at people. A few weeks ago he walked up to me and yelled in my face when I asked him not to stare at me. I told him to please move away from me, he didn't. I mentioned it to the spikey haired guy at the desk who said "Oh ya, he's does that a lot, I know exactly who you're talking about." Nothing has been done, and this guy continues to roam around there looking to pick a fight. They need to take care of members. Something is wrong here. I'm leaving. It's their job to enforce rules, members shouldn't have to beg them.

Overall I felt as though this experience was underwhelming and I was left dissatisfied.

I've been a member of Beacon Hill Athletic Club (Wellesley) for three years, and the only reason I…read morecontinue to go is because it's convenient and there aren't many easy alternatives nearby. The biggest issue is that the equipment is badly outdated. Walking into the gym feels like stepping into the 1980s. The machines are old, the overall facility feels tired, and it is long overdue for a serious investment and refresh. The locker rooms are in a similar state, very dated and in clear need of renovation. To be fair, the club is clean. Extremely clean. In fact, the staff often seem more concerned with cleaning equipment than allowing members to use it. The constant wiping down and fussing over machines can feel excessive and, at times, genuinely strange. The atmosphere is also disappointing. Peter appears to have a group of favorite members and regularly has loud, bro-style conversations with them across the gym. These conversations often include inappropriate language that feels unprofessional in a fitness club setting. Another staff member, a younger guy, is consistently rude and seems to think the gym's sound system exists solely for his benefit. When he's working, members are subjected to some truly awful reggae playlists. Peter's music choices aren't much better, with a steady diet of jazz and 70s music that feels completely disconnected from what most people would expect in a modern gym. The overall impression is that the gym is run around the preferences of the staff rather than the members. Whether it's the music, the conversations, or the way the floor is managed, there seems to be very little thought given to creating an environment that is motivating and enjoyable for the people actually paying to work out there. The one saving grace is the woman who works at the front desk. She is consistently friendly, welcoming, professional, and genuinely customer-focused. She treats members with respect and clearly understands what good customer service looks like. Ironically, she also seems to have the best taste in music. Unfortunately, it's uncomfortable to watch how some of the other staff, particularly Peter, treat her. She deserves far better than the dismissive attitude she often appears to receive. For a club that charges premium membership fees, the facilities, atmosphere, and management approach simply don't measure up.

They don't try to find dates, show off the latest fitness gear, or take selfies. If you love 70's music, which I do, the vibe is perfect. If not, bring your own music because that is all they play.
