It's not even busy but if you need a towel hurry - A granite countertop with a water bottle and white towels on a wooden shelf, likely in a bathroom or spa setting.

Lifetime has not been able to maintain the workout floors. You can see here there are 3 or 4 towels available for the members at the most expensive gym in the area

pools closed for the whole day because there was lightning three hours ago - The image shows a swimming pool area viewed through a metal fence, with lounge chairs and umbrellas in the background, surrounded by trees and bushes.

Just so this is clear, this place deserves 2 stars and I have to give it a 1 because it's overrated. Pros: Spacious, and probably the only gym with enough squat racks/deadlifting platforms. Hot tubs, pools, steam room, sauna, are all pretty nice. Machines are typically always working or repaired very quickly. 5 bench presses is the perfect amount. The lockers are lovely. The staff is very friendly, and LifeTime should consider themselves lucky they have someone as talented as Brian Ribero on the personal training team. Cons, and there are many (so buckle in management): Good luck going swimming in the pool. 4 PM on a Tuesday? Swarms of children - it feels like a Nat Geo documentary on eusocial insects. Not good. What's worse, pool closures galore - my last three visits I've only wanted a lane to swim in alone for 20 mins and I haven't been able to get that in spite of waiting for over an hour multiple times. And they're certainly not giving you an automatic discount for closures even though you're only paying for this place for the amenities. My membership costs $225/mo and you can't give me a lane in one of FOUR pools? Let's make it even worse - try waiting for a lane to open from the hot tub (which I'm in alone) and here come a dozen or so eight year olds to jump in. No sane 30 year old man wants to be alone in a hot tub with a bunch of 8 year olds who are in there against the rules which are completely unenforced. I'm fine waiting, even - but life guards do not enforce limits on swimming time for other members. The members here are indeed annoyingly entitled. So when you try to engage with the member that has been swimming lackadaisically back and forth for almost an hour in the same lane, they will dismiss you because they have a behavioral problem. This is also the only gym I've ever been in where someone has refused to work in if they are occupying a machine where there is only one (of which there are far too many). I have also been sexually harassed by children in the locker room while changing into my bathing suit. "Nice ass," they say. $225/mo and you'd think there wouldn't be multiple hoards of (presumably) teenagers swarming several benches, and yet... Life finds a way. Also, of note, many members wear very offensive articles of clothing ranging from graphics depicting trans women as monsters to, verbatim, "nobody likes a vegetarian." The staff are far too complacent in dealing with problematic members, probably because you have 8 people working during peak hours. Have heard slurs of many types out of the mouths of multiple members far too frequently. The food in the café is marketed to be healthy, but it is mostly devoid of anything I'd want to eat as a vegetarian. Indeed the poor quality of options here reflects negatively on the brand of the gym. The guest policy is also far too restrictive. 2 per month with a 60 day cooldown is absurd. The seated shoulder press rack is literally begging you to injure yourself - as a core component of bodybuilding routines, this is unacceptable. Other gyms, such as Impact in Auburn, have adjustable racks for the barbell bench and barbell overhead press so that you don't have to strain trying to get into form. 1/4 of the price and I'm feeling like that rat's nest is more luxurious - not a good look. The sign in process for guests is also belabored, but, the front desk are normally nice enough. There are too few of them however. I have noticed the decreased headcount as what I'm sure are budget cuts. And that's disgusting considering the cost of being here. I will say that if I weren't one of the biggest people in the room, I would feel somewhat unsafe here due to poor membership quality, understaffing, and little effort to ensure a respectful environment. All of that can be tolerated, but I will say what is absolutely inexcusable : quality photo opportunities for fitness progress are near non-existent. Figure it out. Even the most cramped gyms have a place for photos the don't involve taking a picture of other people. Final verdict: Maybe nice for a visit, off hours, in the dead of winter, but definitely not for a lifetime.

Kids room - A lounge with a leather ottoman, a sofa with pillows, and a decorative sculpture, adjacent to a children's play area with a stroller and a door.

a very good place for sports, you give the children to the children's room and go in for sports yourself, swim in the pool, do group classes, etc. Everything is done for the comfort of a person.

The rest is - -music (on/off, selection and volume) has always been questionable -locker rooms (at least men's) are very bare bones -the weekend opening person (at least previously) would typically show up to open anywhere between scheduled opening and 20+ minutes late -Management sold a previous price increase on going to 24 hour operations and new equipment coming in. 24 hour operations was short lived (not necessarily their fault even if poorly executed) and the new equipment didn't show up for nearly a year and even then was marked "for use with mgmt approval". -while understanding the need for "survival" through Covid, the membership (while closed) and mask (when opened again) policies were questionable. -Cardio equipment is extremely limited. I come here mainly on weekends, when my home Y closes way the heck too early (4pm vs 7pm here)…read more I'd say that about 70-80% of their equipment is fine. Lots of free weights and strength machines. The highlight is the huge, high-ceilinged (30-40ft?) functional fitness space that features a turf area, a sled, kettlebells, plyo boxes, plyo smash balls, a do-it-all calisthenics multi-station that includes weighted pulleys, dip and pullup and monkey bars, a free hanging real boxing bag (nice angled uppercut bag that's just the right weight to make you "dance" to avoid the swing back, yet forgiving enough that you can punch it without gloves without risking a broken wrist or bruised knuckles), a pair of Assault bikes and treadmills, a Concept rower, some meh Schwinn stationary bikes (more on that later), and two full squat cages with plenty of plates and barbells. So, what about the other 20-30%, you ask? Well, their cardio machines range from so-so to unusably lousy. All the treadmills are Precor, which are a clear step down from the Life Fitness TMs most Ys have: smaller uglier fuzzy screens with spotty internet connection that can freeze up in the middle of a workout, noisier and less stable platform. The stationary bikes are a mix of Precor (typical mediocre gym bike with crap ergonomics where you feel like you're on a creaky toy bike pedaling against some barbaric pad not magnetic resistance) and Espresso (video-gaming type bike clearly designed to seduce ADD teenagers or lazy af adults) and the horrible Schwinn bikes (just as bad as most home exercise bikes, you can understand why people mostly use them as clothes hangers). Please please please can you guys get at least a few KEISER bikes? We know you can have decent taste in cardio machines because you kept your CONCEPT rowers instead of choosing some oversized gym-brand rowers which look impressive but have similarly lousy ergonomics. Oh and they have non-mechanical Assault brand treadmills which nobody uses because they are brutal on the knees, too narrow and unstable. I don't know who was in charge of choosing the cardio equipment, but that person needs to be put to work cleaning the bathrooms or something more appropriate! The other major gripe I have is their sauna --- it's spacious and new and pretty, but who in the hell decided to have only ONE row of seating? Completely idiotic, folks: did you not pass seventh grade Life Science, where they teach you that heat RISES, and that's why all real saunas have TWO levels of seating, with the 2nd one being a good 4-5 feet off the ground so that you get the full benefit of the heat in the room? Here you have to STAND on the damned low benches if you want to get a decent sweat in ... the sauna thermometer reads 170F but if you're sitting down you'd be lucky to get 140-150F, which is useless. (The sauna of the Melrose YMCA has the same idiotic mistake.) So, while I'm grateful that this Y offers me decent hours to work out on weekends making the long drive out there worthwhile, their cardio machines selection and sauna design really really need a rethink.

It's a franchise and each location has its quirks. If you have never done reformer pilates - TAKE YOUR TIME. It can be intimidating. Once I got myself into the studio, it was an interesting experience from there. Expect everyone to be delicately lean and know what they are doing (to a fault) when it comes to pilates. Other skills... well, we all are different. As a latino, I felt odd. As a 12 year zumba instructor, a lot of the mechanics were second nature to me, albeit the instructor for the day tried a "little too hard. Kudos for keeping safety at the forefront. It's not cheap, so if you are looking for price, this isn't the place for you. Given the drive and off of Route 9 (MY NEMESIS), I have some considerations. But I'd like to at least try the 4 pack one on one training sessions to get into the groove and see if this is something I can commit to longer term. As with any other program - work your way into it, unless you are one of the young superfreaks of nature (me, 35 years ago!). Pilates can be a gentle and effective way to strengthen, tone and lengthen, improving posture, balance and overall functional fitness activities (aka life in general). I have mixed feelings but I wasn't totally put off (chime in here F45 Wakeforest, NC area...). It's a logistics thing. If you are mainstream, middle income - you'll find yourself a great place to take your fitness to a new challenged.

What?!? This location has a lot of members who takeover a weight machine and areas for 10 minutes removing the machine from other member's usage. The staff apparently allows this to happen without stopping the behavior. Jan2023: 4: I could recommend this location on this day. I believe this location could compete with the big brand name fitness facilities in the nearby area. I decided to try a new fitness center location since I was near where my family member lives and goes to the medical center. This one was the closest one within 3 mi of the medical appointment location. It was seemingly attached to another business at the front door and that business seems to be attached to another food business out front of the complex. The business is located within a small mall set off the main one lane highway adjacent to a major auto repair store. The front of the building is well marked but is clearly visible from the street. I did note that there was available handicap parking adjacent to the front of the entrance and convenient for entry into the facility. There are plenty of regular parking spots available in the immediate area. There were not enough workers at the front door. Some were fairly attentive and others were too distracted upon entry into the facility to the point of not even saying anything upon entering. The facility circles around to several workout areas for use. The heavyweights are not near the front door and the machine weights are off to the left after entering the facility. It is on one level with no stairs. The whole center area is dedicated to the treadmills, bicycles, and stair aerobics type machines. When I checked the men's locker room, I found that the area was clean. There were no broken lockers in the facility with the faces torn off, although several of the lock circles were broken. The shower areas and the dressing room areas were clean, operational, and available when I checked. All of the showers appear to be functional and clean. I checked the black card area and I saw no out of order signs on any of the equipment. There were several out of order signs on the other central equipment. Several of the machine weights need to be adjusted and calibrated accordingly. They had a worker out making adjustments and cleaning equipment when I was there in the facility.
