Two days in a row GreatLakes Taxi failed to show up at the designated time to drive our guests…read moredowntown. The first time I figured it was a misunderstanding and drove our guests myself. When I called the next day to request a taxi for the same time the dispatcher was rude, but I figure he was just frustrated over misunderstanding the time I asked for yesterday. But once again they just opted not to show up after promising that they would be there at the requested time. I called numerous times but they would not even pick up the phone. So once again we were left shuttling guests ourselves. Clearly Greatlakes Taxi has zero interest in showing up when requested. We run an Inn and could be giving them business, but this was beyond frustrating. I would never call them again.

If I could rate it zero, I would. As someone who knows…read moresomebody first hand who works for this company, it's not worth it as a job. The start out pay is only 0.50cpm (you get per diem but it's basically worthless in the long run) but the runs are short and most of your money you make is going to go to insurance (health, dental, vision). Management is a joke, layover/breakdown is a joke, stop off pay is a joke. The truck is constantly breaking down and they refuse to acknowledge that it needs to be put in the shop. They take $50 out of every check for driver escrow but you end up paying out if anything goes wrong on your truck anyway (he had to pay out $100 every week for 4wks because of a bent rim on a steer tire even though escrow was supposed to cover that). Resets- don't know what they are? If you have recaps your running on those and those alone (even if you don't have much time on your recaps, you run until you legally cannot run anymore and only then can you do a 34hr reset). If you need to do ANYTHING regarding going to the store or something you have to have it approved before hand (cant just put it in that your running to the store on PC cuz it's against protocol apparently). Advances/Loans- If you need to take an advance or a loan of any sort (which he had to do almost bi weekly because he wasn't making enough money for basic living expense), don't expect to have it taken out of your checks in installments, they'll take it all at once even if you don't end up making that much money. (Had to take a loan because he only made like $200 after taxes, (insurance, escrow, etc.) and he had bills due and they took the full loan amount out of his next check so he ended up only making $300 on the next check even though they had said they would take it in installments, so he was screwed over 2wks in a row with not making enough money). Also the paperwork you have to fill out for an emergency loan is very vague and has to be signed off on by like 12 people before it's approved. On the topic of management- if you have any questions or concerns don't bother reaching out to your DM or the company about it because they won't do anything. They'll say they're working on it/will get right to it, but they won't. It's all talk. They know that the pay isn't good and they know that people have issues with things regarding their trucks breaking down/layover pay/stop offs. They do not care. YOU'RE JUST A NUMBER TO THEM, that's it. Toll Roads- they REFUSE to pay toll roads, so you have to find alternative routes to avoid them at all costs, (Even though they have EZ Passes in the trucks) despite the fact that sometimes to get where they want you to go, the only option is going through a toll... doesn't matter to them, find another way DO NOT GO THROUGH TOLL ROADS EVER THEY DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO PAY THEM AT ALL.

More nice views of the beach and the big red lighthouse from the very top of the amount. 239 wooden steps up to the top. Do lean back some as you descend and do be careful of some of the gaps in the wood on the steps. Some steps are unevenly higher than others. Don't trip. Perhaps hold onto the rail for assurance. It's a good hike and walk. Bring some water, tick and bug repellent, good walking shoes.

Great view! Finding…read morethe entrance can be a bit tricky because parking is across the street. You have to park in the lot by the water and then cross the street and walk towards the ice cream shop. There is an entrance next to there with a map of the park. Once you are on the trail it is easy to follow. There are stairs that get you to the top of the hill. After you make it to the top there are several paths to follow through the woods.
