What a great experience. Today was a very snowy day. I was riding on a spare hoping to find a place to put my new tires on early in the morning. Mavis was able to put my tires on early even though they had no heat. I felt so bad for them but thet felt even bad for me because they were concerned for my safety. They showed me where my lug nuts had been stripped by Monroe (stay away from that place) and they were able to give me some used they had in the building for free! I will be replacing them all next month. The work was precise. They had a VERY difficult time getting the jug nuts off and worked diligently in the cold bay but they did it. I never had a mechanic pay so much attention to detail to my vehicle. They have my business from now on. read more

I took my Subaru into This Mavis Tire on Erie Blvd. to get a NYS inspection done. It was done so quickly that I wonder if some things were left out. I can't know. When it was done, the worker told me that my struts needed replacing and the brakes were bad, that one was worn down to 3mm. Cost $800 and $300. He asked if I'd like it done. I said no. I was taking my car into the dealer anyway (Romano Subaru, excellent, trustworthy) and I asked them to ckeck the struts and brakes. They said all my brakes were at least 5mm thick (okay), and there was nothing wrong with my struts. Was it that I was a woman? They were as polite as can be as they lied and tried to steel from me. The workers at Mavis are truly amazing!!! I was in desperate need to get an oil change before heading out of town and didn't know one was needed. I didn't make an appointment prior and it was a busy Saturday morning. One of the workers Zy gladly let me know they can come in and assist to get me in and out. Kevin made sure his others appts were honored as well as accommodating my needs as well. I took my car here for an inspection and they told me I needed to replace my brakes (which I expected) so I told them to go ahead and do the front and back brakes. When I went to pick up my car they had lost my keys and it took them a while to find them. After they replaced my brakes there was a terrible screeching noise. I took my car to my normal place and they said they put the hardware on backwards. My fiancé also tried to take his car here for an inspection several times and he made appointments but every time we brought it in they said they didn't have an inspector. We've been wanting to take our cars here because it's within walking distance to our house but it's not worth it. I'd stay clear of this place. read more

Would not recommend, I had a flat and a bent rim went in with a new rim and had a tire installed, had to go back twice, first time cuz they never put the tire pressure monitor on the new tire, second time because they installed the wrong tire size waited over 2 hrs to get it fixed. If I could rate this location zero stars, I would. I dropped in after work for an oil change and alignment around 4:30p.. the "manager" Scott said he'd get me right in and if he didn't call me by 5:30p, to come back down. Perfect. I go home to shower, and drop back in at 5:30. My car is still on the ground, waiting to be aligned as another vehicle which was waiting on oil to be delivered was using the alignment lift. Fine. No problem. I hang out until about 6:15p when I pay and the mechanic brings my car out. I get in to drive home, and pulling out of the parking lot, I notice the wheel was turned even further to the left than when I brought it there. As I accelerate up W Genesee St, the "traction control" light pops on with the jerking "ABS" motion. I immediately turn around and return to Mavis. The manager sends the mechanic out to "test drive" it. Cool. He returns and puts it back on the lift. I ask the manager what the mechanic said, and he tells me, "He said the wheel is off, but he didn't see a light come on." Okay. So the guy takes it back down off the lift after "tweaking" the alignment under the manager's supervision. The mechanic takes it for another test drive and returns to say that the wheel is still off. The manager tells me it is safe to drive, the wheel is just turned and I can return tomorrow to have it "fixed." Wonderful. I try to figure out when I can be back between work and school, and finally put it in drive to go home at 6:40p. As soon as I pull back onto W Genesee St, the "traction" light immediately comes back on and the ABS jerking is even worse. I, again, flip around and catch the "manager" as he is getting in his car. I ask him to please get in my car and see what I'm seeing. For the third time, I pull onto W Genesee St and he witnesses what is happening. Upon return to the lot, he proceeds to tell me that it is my ABS system which has nothing to do with the alignment or oil change that they performed. He states that my car is not safe to drive in that condition, though, and there is nothing he can do tonight, including refunding my money so I could tow it elsewhere to be fixed. After being confronted with the issue of what I'm supposed to do with no ride to work and school, he asks, "Uber?" and gets out of my car to leave. He stops at the mechanic's truck to chat for another minute or two, and then leaves me standing there beside myself. Needless to say, I will NEVER return to this store again. read more

Just called about 30 minutes ago, guy who answered said I could come in for state inspection. Took down my number and told me to give the front desk my name when I come in. Said it would be done by the end of the day. I arrived and gave my name and they guy said "yeah we can do it tomorrow." I explained that I was just told I would get in today. He said "Yeah - we got 3 people in front of you and we close at 6 so we can't do it." I asked why I was told I could come in and he said "You talked to Coulson- yeah happens all the time." I went here yesterday to have an inspection done. I had already had a previous bad experience here, but I needed the inspection done, they were listed for walk ins, and the Valvoline location near me job wasn't doing inspections anymore. I told the man at the desk I was there to get an inspection and I was told that he could make an appointment for me Thursday. I laughed and told him forget it and started to walk out when he decided he was going to add a comment that I did not ask for. He told me that because it was the end of the month that I'm going to have a problem getting in anywhere and that it would probably be at least two to three weeks for an inspection. I have never in my entire life ever waited that long to get an appointment anywhere for an inspection. As a matter of fact, I usually walk in without an appointment and it's done while I wait. Needless to say, when I got home I scheduled an appointment for the next morning at my dealership without any issues. I also decided I would check to see if he was lying to me and guess what, he was! I could have scheduled an appointment with them the next morning at 10 am. I look at the other reviews on here for this location and I'm not surprised. Do better please, and I certainly hope I wasn't treated like that because I was a woman! read more

One star because I can't go any lower. I needed to change my rear brakes, calipers and rotors. I called the day before coming to make sure they could fit me in. I told them 8-8.30 in the morning I will be there and I was told that that was perfect. I show up at 8.30 in the morning. Can't stay inside because of Covid so I've been roaming around for 2 hours. I come back to the store and my car HAS NOT been touched. I ask how much longer and the response was "you'll be done around 12.30/1 pm" ........ at 12.20 pm a guy comes out to tell me my car is disassembled they're waiting on parts. How do you not have parts after I have told you all my information the day before and this morning. Finally someone shows up with my parts at 1pm. 1.30 my technician goes to grab food across the street. I've been outside sitting and walking around for FIVE hours. But he needed a snack ?! 2.30 comes around and I get told the tech broke the bleeder screw on my caliper? So now that has to be fixed and yet another part has to come. 6 hours waiting outside so far. 2.45 my technician comes out to tell me "the caliper came in broken"..... so one person says the guy broke it and the guy who broke it says it came in broken? Sketchy. My dad comes, the manager gives him an attitude- gives me an attitude and says 20 more minutes. 3.30pm. Finally done. read more

Awful experience the first and the last three times! There is always something going wrong there. You walk in, and they say we are busy, you should make an appointment. I make an appointment, they say that they are busy and I need to leave the car. I make another appointment and leave the car, but they simply can't change tires after a long day because things came up!!?$! I wait two hours to pick up the car, and finally! Oh, No! They did not have time to complete the repair, I would have to come another time! And yet pay the full price for the service?$&!@ And they can't reset the service code on a simple compact sedan???? What do you guys do? 1 star only. And the only star goes to the young gentleman I the front desk for his professional attitude and sincere efforts to assist me but his sincerely does not really help, does it? I've been here twice with my lovable and durable but ancient Jeep, and I'll definitely be back. Two crises in a row (front brakes and exhaust) and they wedged me right in, and on a Saturday morning, no less! Staff is knowledgeable and honest, and they have a great waiting area and bathroom facilities. There are also tons of businesses nearby if you have to wait - Walmart and Tops are right across the street. No one likes to have car issues and it takes time to do quality work, but if I have to have it done, I'll have it done with Mavis. read more

Brought my car in to have snow tires changed. Was there at opening, second in line. The first car was also just having tires changed. Took them more than 3 hours. They had 3 staff working at the time. I have no idea why they were so slow, but I will not be going back. read more

Best garage in town-- awesome service, best prices.. They did my tires and when I got a nail in one several months later, I crawled in at 5 minutes to close and they fixed it for me. Last time I was there I had a mysterious issue with power steering fluid leaking.. they drained it and filled it and it stopped leaking. And they didn't charge me! Couldn't actually find anything wrong. Totally mysterious-- but months later it still isn't leaking. Thanks guys! read more

I show up 10 minutes later and the same guy, who happens to be the assistant manager, tells me he doesn't have time today. I live about 2 miles away but won't be back.
