We took our delivery vehicle for an oil change and inspection and walked out with an $1800 bill to fix a problem that did not exist when we brought the car in. I almost feel that they "manufactured" the issue because they knew it was a corporate vehicle and because we needed it, so, we had to pay that exorbitant repair bill. Ugghhhhh! Guy in a pickup truck towing a trailer cut me off on my electric scooter on the street in front of the lot, even though I was riding legally on the right side of the street and there was whole, empty second lane for the driver to be in. One of the salesman saw it, came up and said I shouldn't have been in the street and should have been on the sidewalk. This despite NYS DMV guidance saying, "You can operate these devices on highways with a posted speed limit of 30 MPH or less. You cannot operate these devices on a sidewalk except as authorized by local law or ordinance." But what can one expect from a car salesman except they think cars reign supreme? Been a loyal customer for 14years till now they sold me a lemon. Less then a year need new tires and alignment within first 2 months then at the 7 months mark needed new full exhaust and power steering rack and value cover gasket. Now right before a year and inspection I need new front shocks/struts, radiator hose and calipers and brakes to past inspection. AJ Lamacchia tells me what do I aspect it's an old car. In early October my wife and I were driving from the coast of Maine to Buffalo and spent one night in Albany. The next morning, on I90, our 2013 Civic began to run rough and rougher. We were able to exit the highway at Syracuse. My wife called Lamacchia Honda on her phone and they guided us to the dealership as the car ran rougher and rougher. Luckily, we made it before it quit completely. They took the car in immediately and gave us coupons so we were able to get a discounted on our lunch across the street at Burger King. Three hours later all the engine problems were fixed and we were able to continue on to Buffalo. All the staff we dealt with were especially helpful and saved our vacation. My daughter was in a lease with the closest Honda dealership to Auburn, who misled her on a couple points on both the maintenance contract and the residual value, stating the contract covered 'everything without exception' and she would get a big check when she turned it in providing the mileage and condition met the agreement. Neither points were true, and it took a week to find out she would have to pay $4000. to turn it in early (claiming they would have to take it to an auction). Lamacchia Honda in Syracuse said it was in pristine condition and charged her $3,400. to surrender it early, and the whole process took 15 minutes. I've been here on two occasions and had positive experiences both times. The first time I came because my key fob stopped working. The second time I came because I got notice of an airbag recall on my car. Making an appointment online was easy. I also chatted with representatives through their online chat portal and they guided me to the online appointment maker. I also emailed someone from this branch and they got back to me in under 12 hours. The interior of the dealership is spacious and has a lot of seating options. They also have free coffee and water. They have vending machines for snacks and drinks if you end up having to wait here for a while. They also offer a shuttle service. I was greeted at the door when I entered even when I entered the wrong door. I thought everyone was efficient and helpful. Best of all, there was a roaming lab that probably belonged to a worker there. He was good at catching snacks in his mouth and he added to the welcoming atmosphere at Honda. However, he did growl at one couple who entered the store. But, after he sniffed them he allowed them to pet him so overall, he's still a good boy. read more

This dealership does NOT push for you to buy a car from them , they do NOT push any of the paperwork onto you and they make sure you are comfortable with whatever decisions you make . I had the worst experience I have EVER had a car dealership. I brought my 2020 accord in for a recall. I scheduled an appointment 2 weeks ago. I showed up 10 minutes early with all my paperwork. They directed me to the rude male in the first dest (desks are lined up like a classroom). He clearly heard the sales rep say "anyone in this row can help you". I stood in front of his desk....inches away from him. But apparently he did nor see me, and therefore did not acknowledge me until he felt I wanted long enough. he asked me if I had been there before. To which I replied that this was my 5th car I had bought or leased from Lamacchia Honda he said "have a seat, someone will be right with you". After 60 minutes.....which I saw that no cars were brought into the service area which I was facing thru glass walls I looked at him and asked how much longer? As I had an appointment over an hour ago. after his dirty look he walked back into another glass room where I could see all the workers laughing and petting their pet dogs for the past hour, and said "we may be able to get to you in 10 or so minutes" I politely said " I had an appointment over an hour ago". He said " something about these recalls take a long time and the woman before you took a very long time.." I said there was no car or any workers working in the service bay. He literally shook his head and walked away from me. I asked for my keys back...... he dropped them in my hand....did not give me back my paperwork.....and very sarcastically Said "call us when YOU'RE ready" I just said no and shock my head I will not buy/lease car number 6 from them...never....ever....ever pompous jerk! read more

Came in today with my aunt to help her look at options for a new car. James came out to help us right away and we told him what we were looking for. They didn't have any cars on the lot that matched the description of what she wanted, but he helped us understand how she could put in an order for a car that met her needs. He even drove out someone's else's car that matched what she was interested in, for us to look at. She was able to sit in it and make sure the size and fit was right, but didn't need to test drive it since she currently has a Honda CR-V and knows how Hondas feel and drive. He was able to give us some numbers pretty quickly, including taxes and fees so there were no surprises. He also made it clear that there were no added dealer mark-ups of any kind, which I really appreciated. It's hard to find a dealer these days that don't do that. We got to a reasonable offer on her 2018 trade-in which was enough to make her comfortable ordering the new car, which James processed for us in less than a half hour. Start to finish we left with a purchase order for a new 2023 in less than 1 hour...no drama or hassles. James and Lamacchia made the process really simple and easy. I have owned 3 Hondas so far, 2 were my wife's vehicles and I bought a late model Accord for around town driving for its reliability and fuel economy. The Honda Pilot and Honda CRV were both purchased from Honda City, I financed through Honda financial with an interest rate of maybe 1.9% on the Pilot which was a early lease trade in and the CRV was 0% APR for 48 months. The service department has some room for improvement.... The Accord I bought a couple months back was an 08 with just over 100k miles, it has the 4cyl engine with a manual 5 speed transmission, fun car to drive and I don't have to worry about scratches and dings. So, being that it has just over 100k miles I knew there were certain required service work that would be needed. I chose to bring the car to Lamachia Honda to give them a chance and see how they treat a customer requiring service on a late model Honda, and then maybe when it comes time for the next new vehicle buy from them rather than Honda City. When I dropped the car off my "service tech" was Aj Lamachia, I explained that the clutch was late engaging but firm and otherwise ok. I also requested that they go over the car and tell me what, if anything else, would be needed as far as maintenance to keep the car running in as good of condition as possible. I was told that they would do a diagnostic on the transmission/clutch for $120 and they would apply that to any work I had done. I also specifically asked for an oil change and transmission fluid flush as it is required every 60k miles. So I get a call later in the day to tell me that it needed a clutch and would be around $2500. I called a couple other garages in town and asked how much a clutch/flywheel replacement would cost. Two garages gave me quotes ranging for roughly $800-$1000, I told AJ that I would likely not have the work done with them. I then asked if they had flushed the transmission and changed the oil. He said they changed the oil but they wouldn't do the transmission flush unless they did the clutch?.?. He then asked what dealership quoted me the 800 to 1000, I told him it wasn't a dealership, he scoffed and said with an air of arrogance that you get what you pay for... that seemed to be his go to catch phrase. I went down to pick up the car and after paying $176 for an oil change and diagnostic i asked to speak with someone about the diagnostic process. I asked about the transmission fluid first, he said that when they pulled the dip stick it did appear dirty and would need to be flushed. Now that was the first major red flag for me. A 2008 Honda accord 5 speed manual transmission is a sealed transmission and does not have a dip stick. So I said, oh so you checked the levels with a dip stick, he confirmed and I explained that there is no dip stick, he obviously didn't no what to say other than i got what I paid for... i also visually inspected the fill bolt and it was clear that it had not been removed. I then asked how they determined that it was indeed the clutch requiring replacement and not something else, he said because that's what the mechanic said and they provided exactly what I paid for. All they did was repeat the issue I told them it was having and changed the oil for $176.When I got home I figured I would check under the hood to go over the multi point vehicle inspection checklist they provided. I noticed that they had my coolant checked as being full, my power steering was checked as being full, they also checked boxes indicating that they filled my coolant and power steering fluids. Well, they did neither and they were both below the minimum lines. I called and asked to speak with Aj, I read about the vehicle for 10 minutes and came out with more functional knowledge on the car than a "Service Tech" at the Honda dealership. I also called Honda's customer relations number, they informed me that there are 2 recalls that they are required to inform me of and complete, One was for the hood latch releasing while traveling at highway speeds, and the next was an SRS airbag recall, apparently the airbags can deploy for no reason. Really great Lamachia Honda... so let's just say I would never bring a vehicle to them for any service work and will definitely not be purchasing the wife's next Honda from them read more

Their sales department was so incompetent with us. I would give them zero stars if I could. We ended up purchasing a car from a dealership 1 hour away in Utica because we got so frustrated with how gimmicky and unhelpful the Lammachia salesmen were. What a peculiar customer service experience here! I'd been emailing with the dealership's Internet Sales Manager and decided to come in unannounced to view a vehicle I was interested in looking at and possibly test driving. I had tried calling the person I had communicated with prior to my arrival but when she wasn't "answering her page" per the operator I decided to walk in and see what would happen. There is a large reception area with multiple tall tables and chairs right when you walk in. I entered and observed several salespeople at their desks, and all made some form of eye contact with me, but no one bothered to ask if I needed any help. So after almost 10 minutes waiting in the reception area I called the dealership and asked for any available salesperson. When a salesman answered, I explained the process to date and described the vehicle I was interested in purchasing. He asked when I could come in, and I told him I was in the reception area waiting to be helped. He seemed surprised and came around the corner to greet me. The test drive went well, so we talked about the purchase price and negotiated a bit. When I noticed the vehicle had an open recall for the infamous exploding Takata airbag issue, I asked for it to be addressed prior to delivery. My salesman advised me to "just bring it to any Toyota dealership for repair". I explained that it would be my expectation that the recall be fixed prior to delivery. He seemed at odds with my request but got it done anyway. At his request, I provided insurance cards to allow the dealership to prepare registration documents. Then he contacted me 2 more times to ask that the dates be changed because the dealership's comptroller required the insurance documents to list the same date as delivery. I actually had to tell him that the car was already insured as of a a few days earlier and that it shouldn't hinder registration in any way. When he balked, continuing to insist that the dates be updated I had to tell him to figure out how to do it without me, or lose the sale. I simply wasn't going through the hassle of reissuing insurance cards based on the date of delivery, a mere 3 days after the insurance had already been issued. Overall, I'm happy with the car and the condition it was in at delivery. I'm just not used to being ignored or pestered over minutia when buying a car. read more

My mom took her honda in for a special they had to clean the breaks she gave them my number when the owners son called me he told me they broke the break line and stabilizer while looking at the brake. I asked how much 1100 then he told me another 1400 for her breaks. I am beyond upset that a business would quote extremely high and even worse take advantage of an elderly lady. I took the car to my own mechanic and fixed their mistake and rerouted the break line for 400 never dealing with this dealership again read more

A delivery that should have been done fast I had to cancel after it was moved out to 10 days after the papers were signed. The next car I picked up same day. I was lied to repeatedly by the sales manager calls not returned and even notification that the car wasn't ready was only an hour before I had arranged to pick it up cancelling business functions. Day of appt., son takes car in on time. Four hours later, my son is sitting there and car still has not been touched. Son told that the tech who must be the only one who knows what he is doing is stuck on another car. I call. Service advisor states he has car listed as drop off. This is total bs (either lying or incompetent) as I spoke with service dept. at length when I made the appt. that he would need to wait as he has no other transportation. They said they understood, hence the 7:45 a.m. appt. I called and told them to give him the keys and the car back. We would try another dealership. read more

My daughter and I both bought CRV's from salesman TR within the past 3 years. If TR is there when we go in for service he remembers our names and always greets us. Routine service appointments go well without excessive wait times. We recently had to have some bodywork done that was actually covered under warranty and only took a few days to complete. Some people look for anything to complain about and are never satisfied. As car dealerships go I don't think you can do better than Lamacchia. read more

This is the most unprofessional establishment I have ever in my life come across. AJ Lamacchia is the son of Anthony and the service department manager. He is incredibly rude and condescending. We have a recall on our Honda Odyssey and from day one of the issue he made it seem as if he was doing us a huge favor by fixing the recall on the vehicle we purchased from them. We were lied to and harassed by AJ. Ultimately we were told to go to Honda City and that is exactly what we will do. I highly advise people to not trust this dealership, they do not stand behind their word or product when something goes wrong. We are currently buying a new vehicle and steering clear completely of this dealership. Unfortunately, I had an incredibly negative experience with this dealership. The internet sales manager invited me to the dealership stating that they had the vehicle in stock that I wanted. She even sent me the VIN number. When I got there I was connected with a friendly enough guy who told me they didn't have it. I repeatedly said I wanted to test drive one of the two other models that were on the lot. He showed no motivation to let me do so. I went to my car and then went back in to express my frustration and ask why I was asked to come in when the car had been sold. The second guy showed the same lack of motivation leading me to wonder if they actually sale cars or if they are a front for who knows what. Needless to say, I won't go back. If their service is so bad before a purchase then I can't imagine how horrific it would be after a purchase. Don't go here if you value your sanity. read more

Purchased a vehicle from them last year with an extended warranty. I called them to see if I could get my vehicle in for an oil leak, which is covered by the warranty, and John, the service employee, said they would look at the schedule and give me a call back that afternoon. He explained that while they wouldn't be able to make the repair themselves, they could send it out to the qualified dealership for the repair. He also responded yes when I asked if I could get a loaner vehicle from them since I bought my vehicle from them. I waited all afternoon for them to call me back, but never got a call, so I called them the next morning. The service manager, Mr. Lamacchia (can't remember his first name) informed me that I could NOT get a loaner vehicle from them. When I questioned this and told him that his employee said the day before that I COULD get a loaner vehicle, he kept telling me that his employee never said that, Which in fact, he did. He also said that they don't deal with my car and that it was my fault for getting an older vehicle; Therefore I can't get a loaner vehicle. We were going back and forth about it and I was very unhappy as a customer on how he was handling my case very unprofessionally. I told him I was going to tell people about how unprofessional his service has been and he threatened that he would get his lawyers for slander. I purchased my certified pre-owned vehicle from T.R. at Lamacchia in 2017. Working with T.R. was amazing, he found me the perfect car in my price range. He still checks in yearly to see how it's doing! I also get all my major service done through Lamacchia and have always been thrilled. They don't try to sell you unnecessary services and fixes. Any dealership may be more expensive than a mechanic only, but the peace of mind that comes with knowing my car will be taken care of and I won't be manipulated is easily worth it. For example, right after an inspection, a guard on my car rusted out - not Lamacchia's fault. But since my inspection was so recently, they fixed it immediately and for free. They stand by their work and take care of their loyal customers. read more

Went to lamacchia for an oil change , inspection and recall on fuel tank back in May . I have a 2019 Honda CR-V . After 28,000 miles I was told that the tires on my brand new Honda CRV that they don't put good tires on and I needed to have them replaced UGH! I said what? It's only 2 years old ! I then was told that the tires that they put on a new CRV are thin rubber not good for winters and roads are you kidding me??? I had a Rav 4 Toyota and kept it for five years and never had a problem with the tires. I buy a brand new Honda CRV $30,000 and within two years 28,000 miles on it and I have to replace tires???? I wrote this to the corporation and never heard a word back from them. So I'm writing this in a review to be aware . I was told that I needed to have my tires replaced before my car could pass inspection . Hard to believe a brand new car needed new brakes after 28,000 miles very disappointed. Beware when you buy a Honda or any car and ask about the tires. Actually that will be my first question next time if there is a next time. I probably will be going back to a RAV4.
