We were eastbound from Western Wisconsin to Eastern Massachusetts when our 2008 Odyssey's A/C stopped working on the hottest day of the road trip. Since Syracuse was the next major community, we Googled "Honda Service." The first business to appear was "Honda City." We contacted them in hopes of getting in early on a Tuesday morning: no luck. Fortunately, they recommended Lamacchia Honda. We called them just past 0800 Tuesday. "Is there any chance we could get in mid-morning?" "Absolutely!!" We arrived shortly after 1000, and were whisked right past the queue of waiting vehicles. [Background: the A/C had been serviced in May in EAU for low Freon. When they recharged the system, they added a dye which would be a tell-tale in the event the system was still leaking.] The first report we got was there was no leak: now they were going to do a system diagnostic. (Lordie, my wallet had a $$$ contraction!!) After a brief interlude, the service manager came to us and said, "All done; you're good to go." It turns out that the A/C's compressor's clutch relay had failed. [Why does this sound like replacing a remote relay on the International Space Station?!?] Bottom line: We were in the dealership under two hours and the bill was actually reasonable! We were treated like VIPs and traveled in air-conditioned comfort on the rest of our trip! Very Highly Recommended!! read more

We went for a test drive with Michelle G.. I won't blast her last name... we were honest that we had never even sat in the vehicle before - unsure we would even like it.. she said we could take it for a drive. She was decent, when we got back and said we weren't ready to commit and weren't going to buy it today. She changed her tune entirely.. being really pushy. When she insisted we go into the show room - I politely declined. She pushed my husband to come in and get her card... he followed and as I said "thanks for your time Michelle" she said under her breath "f***** asshole" So disrespectful and hostile at the end. She says she's been with the dealership for years.. maybe she needs a refresher on how to treat customers. We won't be back. read more

Lamacchia Honda - Auto Repair Near Me - Syracuse, New York

The biggest crooks in the Auto Repair industry. We took our delivery vehicle for an oil change and inspection and walked out with an $1800 bill to fix a problem that did not exist when we brought the car in. I almost feel that they "manufactured" the issue because they knew it was a corporate vehicle and because we needed it, so, we had to pay that exorbitant repair bill. Ugghhhhh! They will never see our vehicle again If I could do a minus star I would instead of giving them the benefit of a single star - which they don't deserve. read more

The dumbest salesmen work there. Guy in a pickup truck towing a trailer cut me off on my electric scooter on the street in front of the lot, even though I was riding legally on the right side of the street and there was whole, empty second lane for the driver to be in. One of the salesman saw it, came up and said I shouldn't have been in the street and should have been on the sidewalk. This despite NYS DMV guidance saying, "You can operate these devices on highways with a posted speed limit of 30 MPH or less. You cannot operate these devices on a sidewalk except as authorized by local law or ordinance." But what can one expect from a car salesman except they think cars reign supreme? Dealerships don't generally hire rocket scientists. No child ever says, "When I grow up, I want to be a car salesman." read more

As repeat Lamacchia customers, we were very happy with our experience buying a new Honda CR-V. Both Steve Lerch and Richard Ireland worked with us to find the right vehicle and work out reasonable terms for purchasing it. Been a loyal customer for 14years till now they sold me a lemon. Less then a year need new tires and alignment within first 2 months then at the 7 months mark needed new full exhaust and power steering rack and value cover gasket. Now right before a year and inspection I need new front shocks/struts, radiator hose and calipers and brakes to past inspection. AJ Lamacchia tells me what do I aspect it's an old car. That yall sold me and obviously didn't look over at all and didn't value our 14 year relationship that has now ended. Thanks for the lemon! read more

couldn't of been more pleased with all. they worked with my wife and I for a great deal. thx.

In early October my wife and I were driving from the coast of Maine to Buffalo and spent one night in Albany. The next morning, on I90, our 2013 Civic began to run rough and rougher. We were able to exit the highway at Syracuse. My wife called Lamacchia Honda on her phone and they guided us to the dealership as the car ran rougher and rougher. Luckily, we made it before it quit completely. They took the car in immediately and gave us coupons so we were able to get a discounted on our lunch across the street at Burger King. Three hours later all the engine problems were fixed and we were able to continue on to Buffalo. All the staff we dealt with were especially helpful and saved our vacation. Lamacchia Honda is the most amazing car dealership we have ever dealt with. Thank you, Lamacchia read more

My daughter was in a lease with the closest Honda dealership to Auburn, who misled her on a couple points on both the maintenance contract and the residual value, stating the contract covered 'everything without exception' and she would get a big check when she turned it in providing the mileage and condition met the agreement. Neither points were true, and it took a week to find out she would have to pay $4000. to turn it in early (claiming they would have to take it to an auction). Lamacchia Honda in Syracuse said it was in pristine condition and charged her $3,400. to surrender it early, and the whole process took 15 minutes. Lamacchia is a far better place to buy a new Honda. read more

We just picked up our New 2025 Honda CRV and I couldn't be more pleased. Our salesman Owen is such a joy to work with, he was knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. We have bought 5 Honda CRVs now and this experience with Owen and everyone at Lamacchia Honda has been the best. If I buy a 6th Honda CRV it will be from Lamacchia Honda not Great Lakes Honda. Thank you so much. read more

Do NOT go there for any reason! I was shocked and insulted by the salesman. Then to add insult to injury the owner of the dealership came over. How do I know it was the owner? Because he bragged about. I simply said that he should know better then. His father would never talk to customers like that. Shame on you all. My entire family will never go to Lamacchia Honda! read more

I've been here on two occasions and had positive experiences both times. The first time I came because my key fob stopped working. The second time I came because I got notice of an airbag recall on my car. Making an appointment online was easy. I also chatted with representatives through their online chat portal and they guided me to the online appointment maker. I also emailed someone from this branch and they got back to me in under 12 hours. The interior of the dealership is spacious and has a lot of seating options. They also have free coffee and water. They have vending machines for snacks and drinks if you end up having to wait here for a while. They also offer a shuttle service. I was greeted at the door when I entered even when I entered the wrong door. I thought everyone was efficient and helpful. Best of all, there was a roaming lab that probably belonged to a worker there. He was good at catching snacks in his mouth and he added to the welcoming atmosphere at Honda. However, he did growl at one couple who entered the store. But, after he sniffed them he allowed them to pet him so overall, he's still a good boy. read more

I had a horrible car experience with another car dealership , I emailed Lamacchia Honda and within a few days- I had everyone wanting to help me . They went far beyond what they had to . This dealership does NOT push for you to buy a car from them , they do NOT push any of the paperwork onto you and they make sure you are comfortable with whatever decisions you make . The workers are friendly and inviting . I wish, I had went through Lamacchia Honda in the first place . I am forever grateful for all that they have done for me . Abdul, my salesman also went far beyond what he needed to . He came in on his days off and he offered friendly advice from "person to person" . I could not have done this without him . Ashley Wolcik is the internet sales manager. I asked for a quote in a specific CRV and she insisted on knowing what car I was driving. This despite not trading in, she stated it was to see if there were Subaru or Toyota switching discounts. I said don't worry we don't have either of those brands. She then invited me to shop elsewhere. I don't provide unnecessary info as a rule, and I reserve the right to decide what's necessary. I guess they're doing pretty well to miss a sale in the middle of a pandemic. read more

I had the worst experience I have EVER had a car dealership. I brought my 2020 accord in for a recall. I scheduled an appointment 2 weeks ago. I showed up 10 minutes early with all my paperwork. They directed me to the rude male in the first dest (desks are lined up like a classroom). He clearly heard the sales rep say "anyone in this row can help you". I stood in front of his desk....inches away from him. But apparently he did nor see me, and therefore did not acknowledge me until he felt I wanted long enough. he asked me if I had been there before. To which I replied that this was my 5th car I had bought or leased from Lamacchia Honda he said "have a seat, someone will be right with you". After 60 minutes.....which I saw that no cars were brought into the service area which I was facing thru glass walls I looked at him and asked how much longer? As I had an appointment over an hour ago. after his dirty look he walked back into another glass room where I could see all the workers laughing and petting their pet dogs for the past hour, and said "we may be able to get to you in 10 or so minutes" I politely said " I had an appointment over an hour ago". He said " something about these recalls take a long time and the woman before you took a very long time.." I said there was no car or any workers working in the service bay. He literally shook his head and walked away from me. I asked for my keys back...... he dropped them in my hand....did not give me back my paperwork.....and very sarcastically Said "call us when YOU'RE ready" I just said no and shock my head I will not buy/lease car number 6 from them...never....ever....ever pompous jerk! read more

I purchased a CRV from Lamacchia Honda and had a very pleasant experience. Between starting with Ashley, then to Abdula for the sale, Mark for the extended warranty info and Mr Lamacchia Jr. himself all had such great conversations and personalities. Came in today with my aunt to help her look at options for a new car. James came out to help us right away and we told him what we were looking for. They didn't have any cars on the lot that matched the description of what she wanted, but he helped us understand how she could put in an order for a car that met her needs. He even drove out someone's else's car that matched what she was interested in, for us to look at. She was able to sit in it and make sure the size and fit was right, but didn't need to test drive it since she currently has a Honda CR-V and knows how Hondas feel and drive. He was able to give us some numbers pretty quickly, including taxes and fees so there were no surprises. He also made it clear that there were no added dealer mark-ups of any kind, which I really appreciated. It's hard to find a dealer these days that don't do that. We got to a reasonable offer on her 2018 trade-in which was enough to make her comfortable ordering the new car, which James processed for us in less than a half hour. Start to finish we left with a purchase order for a new 2023 in less than 1 hour...no drama or hassles. James and Lamacchia made the process really simple and easy. Thanks for not wasting my whole day like some other dealers. Great work. read more

I have owned 3 Hondas so far, 2 were my wife's vehicles and I bought a late model Accord for around town driving for its reliability and fuel economy. The Honda Pilot and Honda CRV were both purchased from Honda City, I financed through Honda financial with an interest rate of maybe 1.9% on the Pilot which was a early lease trade in and the CRV was 0% APR for 48 months. The service department has some room for improvement.... The Accord I bought a couple months back was an 08 with just over 100k miles, it has the 4cyl engine with a manual 5 speed transmission, fun car to drive and I don't have to worry about scratches and dings. So, being that it has just over 100k miles I knew there were certain required service work that would be needed. I chose to bring the car to Lamachia Honda to give them a chance and see how they treat a customer requiring service on a late model Honda, and then maybe when it comes time for the next new vehicle buy from them rather than Honda City. When I dropped the car off my "service tech" was Aj Lamachia, I explained that the clutch was late engaging but firm and otherwise ok. I also requested that they go over the car and tell me what, if anything else, would be needed as far as maintenance to keep the car running in as good of condition as possible. I was told that they would do a diagnostic on the transmission/clutch for $120 and they would apply that to any work I had done. I also specifically asked for an oil change and transmission fluid flush as it is required every 60k miles. So I get a call later in the day to tell me that it needed a clutch and would be around $2500. I called a couple other garages in town and asked how much a clutch/flywheel replacement would cost. Two garages gave me quotes ranging for roughly $800-$1000, I told AJ that I would likely not have the work done with them. I then asked if they had flushed the transmission and changed the oil. He said they changed the oil but they wouldn't do the transmission flush unless they did the clutch?.?. He then asked what dealership quoted me the 800 to 1000, I told him it wasn't a dealership, he scoffed and said with an air of arrogance that you get what you pay for... that seemed to be his go to catch phrase. I went down to pick up the car and after paying $176 for an oil change and diagnostic i asked to speak with someone about the diagnostic process. I asked about the transmission fluid first, he said that when they pulled the dip stick it did appear dirty and would need to be flushed. Now that was the first major red flag for me. A 2008 Honda accord 5 speed manual transmission is a sealed transmission and does not have a dip stick. So I said, oh so you checked the levels with a dip stick, he confirmed and I explained that there is no dip stick, he obviously didn't no what to say other than i got what I paid for... i also visually inspected the fill bolt and it was clear that it had not been removed. I then asked how they determined that it was indeed the clutch requiring replacement and not something else, he said because that's what the mechanic said and they provided exactly what I paid for. All they did was repeat the issue I told them it was having and changed the oil for $176.When I got home I figured I would check under the hood to go over the multi point vehicle inspection checklist they provided. I noticed that they had my coolant checked as being full, my power steering was checked as being full, they also checked boxes indicating that they filled my coolant and power steering fluids. Well, they did neither and they were both below the minimum lines. I called and asked to speak with Aj, I read about the vehicle for 10 minutes and came out with more functional knowledge on the car than a "Service Tech" at the Honda dealership. I also called Honda's customer relations number, they informed me that there are 2 recalls that they are required to inform me of and complete, One was for the hood latch releasing while traveling at highway speeds, and the next was an SRS airbag recall, apparently the airbags can deploy for no reason. Really great Lamachia Honda... so let's just say I would never bring a vehicle to them for any service work and will definitely not be purchasing the wife's next Honda from them read more

5 stars to their service department (?Chuck?), who went above and beyond to help me fix a shaking wheel (one of my hubcaps was making it unbalanced) a few weeks ago. Their sales department was so incompetent with us. I would give them zero stars if I could. What a peculiar customer service experience here! I'd been emailing with the dealership's Internet Sales Manager and decided to come in unannounced to view a vehicle I was interested in looking at and possibly test driving. I had tried calling the person I had communicated with prior to my arrival but when she wasn't "answering her page" per the operator I decided to walk in and see what would happen. There is a large reception area with multiple tall tables and chairs right when you walk in. I entered and observed several salespeople at their desks, and all made some form of eye contact with me, but no one bothered to ask if I needed any help. So after almost 10 minutes waiting in the reception area I called the dealership and asked for any available salesperson. When a salesman answered, I explained the process to date and described the vehicle I was interested in purchasing. He asked when I could come in, and I told him I was in the reception area waiting to be helped. He seemed surprised and came around the corner to greet me. The test drive went well, so we talked about the purchase price and negotiated a bit. When I noticed the vehicle had an open recall for the infamous exploding Takata airbag issue, I asked for it to be addressed prior to delivery. My salesman advised me to "just bring it to any Toyota dealership for repair". I explained that it would be my expectation that the recall be fixed prior to delivery. He seemed at odds with my request but got it done anyway. At his request, I provided insurance cards to allow the dealership to prepare registration documents. Then he contacted me 2 more times to ask that the dates be changed because the dealership's comptroller required the insurance documents to list the same date as delivery. I actually had to tell him that the car was already insured as of a a few days earlier and that it shouldn't hinder registration in any way. When he balked, continuing to insist that the dates be updated I had to tell him to figure out how to do it without me, or lose the sale. I simply wasn't going through the hassle of reissuing insurance cards based on the date of delivery, a mere 3 days after the insurance had already been issued. Overall, I'm happy with the car and the condition it was in at delivery. I'm just not used to being ignored or pestered over minutia when buying a car. read more

Sales person was great and I loved the car. However everything stopped there. A delivery that should have been done fast I had to cancel after it was moved out to 10 days after the papers were signed. The next car I picked up same day. I was lied to repeatedly by the sales manager calls not returned and even notification that the car wasn't ready was only an hour before I had arranged to pick it up cancelling business functions. In discussing later with others I also learned to beware of the service department after purchase. There are other Honda dealerships. Might be worth looking around read more

My mom took her honda in for a special they had to clean the breaks she gave them my number when the owners son called me he told me they broke the break line and stabilizer while looking at the brake. I asked how much 1100 then he told me another 1400 for her breaks. I am beyond upset that a business would quote extremely high and even worse take advantage of an elderly lady. I took the car to my own mechanic and fixed their mistake and rerouted the break line for 400 never dealing with this dealership again read more

So I broke my key. Honda City said they could make me an appointment for next week. Really customer service oriented. Awesome service, and no I didn't purchase from either dealership. It's obvious who is looking to gain customers and who isn't. read more

Lamacchia Honda - Vintage - Auto Repair Near Me - Syracuse, New York

I purchased my first vehicle from Lamacchia Honda back in March. When I went in to look, I was instantly greeted at the door by Brittany. She was very kind and straight forward during the entire experience. The car I was interested in was inside the building behind a few other cars so she had a few men move the cars in the way so I could test drive it! I had my first service experience today (oil change) and again I was treated very well. I would definitely recommend Lamacchia Honda to anyone! read more

If zero stars was an option, that is the one I would have selected. Appt. set up for 7:45 a.m. for son's 2014 Honda Accord. Information screen bad. Apparently common issue. I also knew it would probably be one appt for diagnosis and one to fix. Asked for early appt. and as I was promised it would be looked at early so my son would not have to wait as long. Day of appt., son takes car in on time. Four hours later, my son is sitting there and car still has not been touched. Son told that the tech who must be the only one who knows what he is doing is stuck on another car. I call. Service advisor states he has car listed as drop off. This is total bs (either lying or incompetent) as I spoke with service dept. at length when I made the appt. that he would need to wait as he has no other transportation. They said they understood, hence the 7:45 a.m. appt. I called and told them to give him the keys and the car back. We would try another dealership. read more

My daughter and I both bought CRV's from salesman TR within the past 3 years. If TR is there when we go in for service he remembers our names and always greets us. This is the most unprofessional establishment I have ever in my life come across. AJ Lamacchia is the son of Anthony and the service department manager. He is incredibly rude and condescending. We have a recall on our Honda Odyssey and from day one of the issue he made it seem as if he was doing us a huge favor by fixing the recall on the vehicle we purchased from them. We were lied to and harassed by AJ. Ultimately we were told to go to Honda City and that is exactly what we will do. I highly advise people to not trust this dealership, they do not stand behind their word or product when something goes wrong. We are currently buying a new vehicle and steering clear completely of this dealership. If you want a Honda I greatly encourage you to visit Honda City where they treat you like a valued customer and stand behind their products. read more

Unfortunately, I had an incredibly negative experience with this dealership. The internet sales manager invited me to the dealership stating that they had the vehicle in stock that I wanted. She even sent me the VIN number. When I got there I was connected with a friendly enough guy who told me they didn't have it. I repeatedly said I wanted to test drive one of the two other models that were on the lot. He showed no motivation to let me do so. I went to my car and then went back in to express my frustration and ask why I was asked to come in when the car had been sold. The second guy showed the same lack of motivation leading me to wonder if they actually sale cars or if they are a front for who knows what. Needless to say, I won't go back. If their service is so bad before a purchase then I can't imagine how horrific it would be after a purchase. Don't go here if you value your sanity. read more

Purchased a vehicle from them last year with an extended warranty. I called them to see if I could get my vehicle in for an oil leak, which is covered by the warranty, and John, the service employee, said they would look at the schedule and give me a call back that afternoon. He explained that while they wouldn't be able to make the repair themselves, they could send it out to the qualified dealership for the repair. He also responded yes when I asked if I could get a loaner vehicle from them since I bought my vehicle from them. I waited all afternoon for them to call me back, but never got a call, so I called them the next morning. The service manager, Mr. Lamacchia (can't remember his first name) informed me that I could NOT get a loaner vehicle from them. When I questioned this and told him that his employee said the day before that I COULD get a loaner vehicle, he kept telling me that his employee never said that, Which in fact, he did. He also said that they don't deal with my car and that it was my fault for getting an older vehicle; Therefore I can't get a loaner vehicle. We were going back and forth about it and I was very unhappy as a customer on how he was handling my case very unprofessionally. I told him I was going to tell people about how unprofessional his service has been and he threatened that he would get his lawyers for slander. Very unprofessional business and will never be going back and would not recommend to anyone. read more
