This review is specific to Parts Department. Without getting into details, suffice to say that I returned a part (vacuum hose) at around 8 am on July 31, 2026 and was treated kindly and fairly by the gentleman at the Parts counter. I was not made to feel as if I were a nuisance or that he was doing me a favor by simply taking my order, as is often the case with other customer-facing enterprises these days. This type of treatment helps ensure that I will look to this dealership first when looking for parts for my current Subaru or when again in the market for a new one. read more

I recently leased a new vehicle at Bill Rapp and I have to say that I am very impressed! The salesman, Hector Lopez, was courteous and respectful; knowledgeable and he treated us like we were family. There was no pressure put on us whatsoever. The test drive was great! We were allowed to take the car out by ourselves and it was extremely liberating! We did wind up leasing the vehicle, a 2026 Subaru Forester, under very favorable terms, and we couldn't be happier! read more

Recently purchased a Subaru from Bill Rapp on Burnet Ave and the staff were amazing and made the entire process effortless for me. Hector Lopez was so non-pressure and helpful with every step in explaining the benefits and safety features of the car and Alisha Zawada had all the business documents correctly prepped and ready so I was able to drive away that day. Frank the store owner-manager stopped in to thank me too, which I did not expect, but I appreciated. They are a "well oiled team" and I definitely left feeling that I made the right choice and will plan to use their auto shop for all maintenance. read more

My experience on first service was not so great , I was told my first and last service should be free of charge , but they charge me for tire rotation $ 26.95 and they told me that I have nail in my tire and it would cost me over $ 200 to replace tire. I did decline to pay for new tire and after a few minutes they told me that it was mistake , it was another car. Something else I would like to add about my experience with your company . They told me I would have a gift card for test driving and never got and another issue I had when I make appointment to learn about my vehicle the person who I had appointment with was not there. These small issues make me wonder about your company. With my experience I would not recommend you to anyone . read more

They are willing to work with you no matter what it is going on car or vehicle wise and if you get your car from them you get free oil changes for pretty much ever and you get free inspections my mom got her first Subaru there in 2015 or 2016 just got a new Subaru last year and she and my dad still go to the dealer to get there inspections to this day read more

Service advisor communicated well. Work done was careful and timely. Price was very reasonable.

staff was friendly and knew what they were doing. Service was completed quickly and kept me informed of progress.

Thankyou to a wonderful group at Bill Rapp Subaru. Hector Lopez was a great consultant making my experience wonderful! read more

The service department has definitely gone down hill over the past 4 years, so I continue to reconsider buying another Subuaru due to this they continue to give false promises on when your car will be completed have given me a hard time about getting a rental in the past which was a major downgrade from my ascent and charge outrageous labor costs because they can. The staff is pretty miserable about their job and take zero pride in their work. The best guy there is the shuttle driver lol read more

The quality and responsiveness of the service department has gone down since they were bought by the Auburn Auto Group. I had an immediate need for service on my wife's Forester and the best they could do was one week. I tried to contact the customer service person with no response. The actual service work was good, customer care not so much. read more

When my husband and I walked into the salesroom intent on a specific 2025 Forester with an enhancements package that has been discounted on the Bill Rapp website, we were dealt with professionally and helpfully by the Product Specialist Stephen Rudenis, the Business Manager Alisha Zawada, one of the Service staff, and Delivery Specialist Brianna McGuire. The sales price on the website was the price we were charged. Stephen was great to work with and helped us resolve a complex vanity license plate swap among two existing cars and new Forester. read more

No one likes the car buying experience or car salesmen but these guys are the worst. They originally offered me a sticker price of 33k on a car with a 25k MSRP, they were gracious enough to drop the price to 30k. When I told them I wasn't paying 5k over MSRP, the dealer got visibly angry and sent in his finance manager. The finance manager told me he "wouldn't be able to offer me this price again if I leave". I hope he doesn't offer anyone that price again because it was an offensive markup to begin with. Ended up buying a new one from Romano for MSRP, where they have respectful sales people and free snacks. read more

The work they did was expensive and they returned the car covered in bird droppings. When we took the Outback into Rapp's, it was clean. When we got it back there were at least 15 bird droppings on it, including two on the windshield (One immediately in front of the driver!!) and three on the driver's side window. In addition, we took it in becaue of a suspicious noise in the drivetrain that they diagnosed as worn tires. A day later, we put new tires on it and the noise is still there. read more

I recently took in my Ascent because of extremely low air pressure in one of the tires. They were able to repair the tire valve, which was also done less than a year ago, and was under warranty. read more

Everyone was SUPER friendly and responsive. The work was great and very timely. The final price was exactly as they quoted me and they didn't try to upsell me or tell me I needed service that I really didn't truly need. Will DEFINITELY be going back. read more

New owners, just like the old owners. General manager, Kyle Moon, condescending, rude, and no respect for women. I've never had a good experience here. My daughter bought a black Nissan Rogue, complete w contract and vin no and they called the next day to ask "are you okay with navy blue?" We bought a black one from Fox. Before that I bought a used black forester, put down $500, went back the next day and they'd sold it out from under me. I bought a used 2021 Forester in 2022 and paid $870 for the junky Zurich rustproofing which it turns out was never done. Spoke to Kyle today and he couldn't have cared less. They'd rather have a bad NYDMV letter and a ding on their BBB RATING. They're using a new, equally bad product made by Armor All and the reviews for that product are as bad as they are for Zurich. I'll go to Romano or drive to Rochester to Van Bortel. If it hadn't been during high Covid when I needed a car I never would have bought it there. They aren't to be trusted. read more

Service was above average. Knowledgeable personnel performed maintenance tasks on 2022 Forester. Reasonable pricing will lead to my return in the future to Bill Rapp Subaru. read more

I was dealing with Ryan M and Sean A at Bill Rapp Subaru. This is definitely not my first vehicle and won't be my last BUT this was by far the best experience I have ever had at any dealership. Ryan and Sean made the whole buying experience quick and easy. I really can't thank them enough for everything. They got me the best deal and I was able to bring my vehicle home same day. They have earned my business going forward and I will be seeing them when my lease is up. Thank you again and I'm extremely grateful for this dealership. read more

Bill Rapp Subaru - Car Dealers Near Me - Syracuse, New York

From the moment I walked in, I was treated professionally and courteously. I went to the express service for an oil change and tire rotation. Chris let me know there was one person ahead of me and pointed the way to the spacious, clean waiting area where I enjoyed a chai latte from the coffee machine. In less than an hour, Chris let me know my car was ready; he said everything was in good shape and all fluids were topped off. It was a pleasure to have my car serviced in a friendly, professional manner. It was worth the drive to have this service done at Bill Rapp Subaru! read more

Awful service. I called because I'm on my second Subaru. I used to love this dealership. I called because (like thousands of other Subaru owners after use...) the key will jam in the ignition and not come out. This is a common problem with Subarus, as I have learned through many Subaru forums. I called and spoke to the Service Department. They said they couldn't see my car for 5 weeks. Are you kidding me? I cannot leave my key lodged in my ignition (in public lots) for that long. Even though Subaru America said they would cover this service, Bill Rapp was awful. I would never come back here. read more

The team at Bill Rapp was great and made the car buying experience much easier than I expected. The salesman spent time with after the sell, showing me how to work all the features of my new computerized car. read more

I went to a 48,000 mile service and install my snow tires. The service was fast and done well as usual. I have purchased 12 Outback's from Bill Rapp mostly about the service department and outstanding sales people read more

Julie at Bill Rapp Subaru is fabulous since I have leased cars through her. I won't go anyplace else for she makes it so easy & I love whatever Subaru & have had. Love Bill Rapp on Burnet Ave. in Syracuse read more

The detailing itself was great but the fact that nothing could be done to repair the driver's seat was disappointing.

I went to Bill Rapp Subaru to have our Forester detailed. They did an incredible job, it's almost like a secret service they can provide. The cost was fair and the work was immaculate. You have to allow 4 hours for inside/outside if you choose package (#5). Everyone I talked to was very pleasant and customer service oriented. I expect to bring our Honda there for the same service soon. Well worth the price. read more

I had an incident with my car that I had purchased from Bill Rapp. I called the Service department on Wednesday and was routed to voicemail. Im identified myself as a Bill Rapp customer. I initiated a Chat session and was told that my request would be sent to the Service department. I finally received a call back on Saturday. If this is the way that Bill Rapp treats people who bought a car from them, I will not be doing business with them in the future. read more

Had a 1:00 appointment for an inspection of a newer SUV with new tires and wipers. One hour later "Richard " came out and said I need new wipers and back brake rotors and pads at $630.00. Told him I live one hour away and had to get home and then think if over. Another 20 minute wait while they hooked it up to the "inspection computer " and then charged me $21.00. I told him that last year my Subaru was inspected there, free of charge. He said he had nothing in his computer- to show this; I came home and found the receipt from last year with no charge . I now have no plans on going back-- bad vibes there today; not very friendly either. read more

While I've never bought a car from Bill Rapp, I've used their service department quite a bit and have always found them to be very professional and the work is done in a timely manner. For two cars now and whether the job was big (getting 2 pistons replaced) or small (getting my oil changed), I always felt like I was treated like a good customer even though my license plate didn't have their name on it. The parts guys are all very friendly and knowledgeable from the few times I've needed to bug them. I have close friends who have worked with Bill Rapp Subaru to buy their cars and seem to be happy - so I'd feel comfortable recommending them for a car purchase as well. If you're in CNY and in the market for a Suby (every other person) then Bill Rapp is a solid choice. read more

Minimal work for the maximum payout. Save your time and money on big repairs from here.

Service was fast and professional. Everything that needed to be completed for my service visit was well explained.

Many consistently great experiences at the service department at Bill Rapp Subaru. My 2017 Outback has 135,000 miles, and runs like new. I wish Subaru had a hybrid option. read more

We have always had good service at Bill Rapp Subaru. Recently took our Forester in the Express Service because we heard an odd noise coming from the back wheel. We thought it was an easy fix. Found out we needed all new brakes front and back. The Express Service team talked to the main Service manager and got our car into regular service. It was urgent because my daughter needed the car to drive out of town the next day by noon. The Service team put priority on our car and installed all new brakes by 11:00. We were very grateful that they understood our urgency and got the job done. Even washed the car! Everyone from signing in our car to picking up our car is always very courteous and respectful our time. They listen to our concerns and will call with updates. Very professional. read more

Horrible customer service. Called yesterday at 3pm and was told I could bring my Subaru in for an oil change and tire rotation the next day. Woke up early, drove 30 miles and arrived at 0800 (30 mins after the Express Service center opened). I was turned away saying they were not doing express service today. I get that it is the Holiday and you want to get your employees home early. But don't tell people you are open for service and then turn them away when they get there. read more

I have been a faithful customer of this dealership SINCE Feb. 2018 when I bought a previously owned 2.5I Legacy from them and today is the last day they will make money off me. I scheduled a service appointment on 12/18/23 at 8:10 a.m. for a minor service (replacing fog lights, car horns, plus other small miscellaneous things). I arrived on time a little after 8 a.m., checked in at the express service lane, left my car key, got my service ticket, and proceeded to wait like every other customer in the waiting room, also like other 100s times that I've been there. I thought this would take a maximum of two hours to install and troubleshoot what doesn't go as plan. Almost FIVE HOURS have passed and this is when everything all went to hell. I went to the front desk to find out the progress of my car at 12:55...only to learn that NO ONE had yet to work on my car. Apparently, I needed to check in at the front desk, so they officially knew I'm there for my appointment. Some may say that after four years of being their customer, I should've known that process by now. I guess you are correct, and this is reasonable, but that's what a long and stressful 12-hour shift with a sleep deprivation could do to you. I have to say this check-in system is also the BIGGEST flaw in the system. Indeed, I was given a little ticket to let me know that my car key and my car are in their possession with the same ticket number hung on the rear view mirror inside the car. Not only no one had worked on my car, the system flagged me as a "NO SHOW" for my appointment! I accepted that I should have checked in, but this is where the break down of communication occurred. I was waiting in the lobby for almost five hours and no one came to check on me if anyone has helped me or assisted me. At one time, I was the only customer there. They relied too much on electronic system instead of common sense and HUMAN INTELLIGENCE to see if the customer had shown up for appointment. If they had my car key and the car with the ticket number on a rear view mirror, how could I not be there and had me as a no show. This is by far the BIGGEST and the WORST breakdown in COMMUNICATION I have ever experienced anywhere in my life time. I have witnessed break down in communications at work before, but BELIEVE ME this is the worst example of all. If this dealership were an emergency room, patients would die waiting in the lobby because the staff didn't bother to come check on the patient. For over four years, they never remember who I am, let alone remembering my name. I'm just another faceless customer whom they squeeze every dime out of in exchange for the service we receive. FIVE hours wasted with no work performed. Half my day off wasted with no result to show for. One last note, DO NOT purchase car parts from Bill Rapp Subaru. They up-charge the items well above the market price. For example, I was looking to buy a new headlight assembly to match another brand new headlight assembly on the other side. I was quoted over $700 for a new one whereas you would only spend over $500 FOR THE SAME PRODUCT WITH THE SAME SERIAL NUMBER FROM OTHER SUBARU DEALERS. Other dealers have comparable prices and the only major difference in payment is the shipping cost. Do your homework before buying from this particular dealership. I used to give them high rate and praise for customer service (with an exception of price gouging on the car parts), but from this day forward I WILL NEVER RETURN THERE EVER AGAIN. P.S.: just realized I could not give a ZERO star on this review. This is exactly the score they deserve, but ONE star would do. read more

I was rear ended and immediately took my car to Bill Rapp Collision to have the work done. Craig & George we're great to work with, kept me updated on the process of my car being inspected by the insurance estimator and expectation when it would be completed. read more

My car "received" a dent while it was in the parking lot at my work. Everyone at the Body Shop, and especially Craig, were excellent! They got my car in as soon as they could, accomplished the work ahead of schedule, and the repair looks great! Everyone I dealt with was consistently, friendly, courteous, prompt and helpful. This made an inherently unenjoyable situation much easier. read more

I got in for a normal oil/tire service right on time, and the staff were all very helpful and pleasant. They even washed my car!

I have had such an incredible experience with this dealership from the time that I purchased my vehicle to every time I have stopped in there there after. Before purchasing my recent vehicle, I was shopping at another Subaru dealership, and my experience became less than pleasant when I chose not to get my vehicle there. Bill Rapp does service right !!!! Thank you !! read more

Sales and service have always been exemplary. So far the same has been true. I recently purchased 2 Subaru's. Sales staff was very professional and accommodating. Too soon to comment on service but I have no reason to believe that their excellent past performance will change. read more

We shopped around for a Forester and a few other cars. We didn't feel like the other places were being fair on our trade or they were too pushy regarding the "extras". We love the new Forester and Matt Montoya was awesome to deal with. read more
