BEWARE PEOPLE: THIS DEALERSHIP WILL SEND YOU OFF IN AN UNSAFE VEHICLE. I bought a used vehicle, after buying, when I got on the interstate highway, the vehicle was shaking and vibrating terribly. Returned the vehicle, was looked over at their shop and I was reported as the issue was normal for the AT tires. Drove it home and then to a local shop. There was one tire that the steel belt was separating and additionally had an overabundance of balance weights on the wheel in question. This review is directly in reference to the Service Dept. I had an urgent problem with my car that warranted taking it to a dealer of the make and model. It is my first and will be my last encounter with this dealership. My reasoning is as such, from the initial encounter with the service staff persons I was treated in a very condescending manner. As if I didn't have enough intelligence to know what I was experiencing with the malfunction of my car. I have no reservations in saying that the reason I was treated in this manner is because I am a black woman. That for me is the most troubling. The problem with my vehicle limited my options to seek service elsewhere once I came to this dealership. Then along with this treatment comes the absorbent charge for the repair to replace a sensor that snapped out and in. I left there feeling violated personally and financially. I have dealt with cars and dealers for years. This was the worst service experience to date. I would advise anyone looking for a car or service to stay far away from Bill Rapp GMC. read more

When you take the car in and they tell you how long it will take, they are spot on. The waiting area is comfortable and the service advisors keep you informed and come to tell you when the work is complete. They also offer a shuttle if needed. Dropped my car to have back brakes replaced on February 21st. I was told the front brakes also needed to be replaced. I had to wait for parts to come in, so on Thursday March 7th, paid for the repairs, but had to return the car I borrowed from a relative before I could pick my car up. Two hours later I returned to get my car, IT MADE MORE NOISE THAN WHEN I DROPPED IT OFF. First thing Friday morning I called to explain my problem. ''We can look at your car on Monday.'' I asked to speak with Manager, asking to get my car back in sooner. You shouldn't drive it, and bring it here Monday. I have no idea how whomever drove my car out of the bay did not hear the squealing. I ended up taking my car to another mechanic who could see me immediately and fix the problem, with the front brake I didn't even have a problem with before I brought it there. In my opinion Bill Rapp should have brought me a loner on Friday or seen me immediatly. read more

Our salesman was knowledgeable and informative and very responsive. The car was prepped and ready when we asked for it and when they said it would be ready. I bought a used car 11 months ago and since the 5th day I had the car everything has gone wrong I have to go sit at least once a month in the garage to have something new or a reoccurring old problem fixed they don't have shuttle service to Madison County I've sat there for 4 hours 3 and 1/2 hours now a shifter that was on back order for 10 months has been canceled they don't have any in the country or a manufacturer to even make them so now I still have a broken lemon that they sold me and a loan that is going to outlast the car that I need for work everyday and it's only a matter of time before the shifter stops working completely then it will join the 17 other Dodge Darts that are not running at all because of broken shifters read more

My GMC Sierra Denali check engine came on! Took it to Rapp's, dealt with a service guy named Bill B. First off, the attitude Bill throws off is that he hates his job and doesn't want to be there! Second, way over priced, quoted me $1100, not including tax, to fix the problem, was told the part won't be in until the next day! so I figured I had time to shop around. Found a family owned and operated shop that said they will do the work for $750.00. Tried to pick my car up the same day, and Rapp's gave me a bill of $500.00! now I'm stuck paying more, and Rapp's nickels and dimes there customers. I did inquire about a trade and was going to purchase a new truck, but after this experience and the way Bill B spoke to me (with his shit attitude, and his argumentative tendencies) I will no longer be purchasing a new truck from Rapp's or using the service department ever! i do not recommend d this place at all when looking for a new car/ or truck, go somewhere else where they appreciate you and genuinely want to help you! read more

I'm happy with the overall work they do, 30 minute or less oil change and tire rotation was great. However, when you buy a new car, do all the service work there, have a front end replaced (deer) and they won't replace a wiper you purchased from them 6 months previously, makes it seem like they don't value you as a customer. we received notice from Subaru that the parts for our transmission recall were finally available and we should schedule with dealer. we scheduled online two weeks out because the work was not available for drive in service. 3 days out, the the car's info system reminded us of the service and asked if we would confirm that the recall would be performed during the service. when we arrived for the appointment (we live about 40 miles out), we were told that they could not do the recall until May of 2023. in addition, they claimed they could not perform the update on the cars info system firmware because their network firewall would not allow them to. we need to figure out how to do that upgrade on our own getting the car close enough to a modem and start it and let it run for about an hour to download. read more

Extremely shady dealership, their "serviced" cars are detailed once and left on the left for months, and sold to customers as is, expired fluids included. Dan the salesman was very dishonest and not forthcoming, selling me a car with many issues, given temporary fixes before being sold to me that morning. After speaking with management, it's clear they're aware of this culture and encourage it, anything to sell cars. Taking advantage of students in the middle of a pandemic is laughable. Highly recommend avoiding this mom and pop shop unless you want a money pot. read more

Being near Rochester, the Buick-GMC dealers aren't quality so we did some Syracuse shopping for SUVs. We stopped at Summitt and then decided to head to Bill Rapp. At Bill Rapp it was more of a new car selection, and deals to lease but they wouldn't try to work with us much being from farther away - we tried to say we were looking to buy a USED car but employees didn't seem to listen and were focused on selling as much cars as they could. Too bad we used to hear good things about Bill Rapp from people back home - but this experience was just like what we receive at Buick-GMC dealers in Rochester, overpriced trucks & SUVs and gimmicks and employees who are all about profit not consumer demands. read more

I took my car in to have a few recalled parts fixed. They did a great job & had the work done early. They even washed it for me! In the past I've taken my car to a DIFFERENT dealership for a recalled item. They called me with a list of other things I needed to fix. Some of it was legit, but still over priced when I took it to my local mechanic. Today, the Bill Rapp technician just called to say my car was ready! (They didn't try to find other things they could charge me for, & I appreciate it!) Everyone was very nice, very helpful, and the process was extremely easy & convenient. I scheduled the appointment online, and a representative called ahead to make sure the recalls applied to my vehicle, which obviously saved us both time. After the fiasco we had buying a car in Auburn a few years back, I was not thrilled about buying a new truck. We went to Bill Rapp first bc we wanted a GMC. It was our first and last stop. Customer service was perfection! We talked about our price range and color preferences and Mike Smeader went out of his way to make sure we were happy. No hassle with financing and no one tried to sell us expensive service agreements that we didn't need. Picked up truck by the end of the day. I was very disappointed! I asked the service person who checked me in and out a question about the rim on my Yukon XL that does not even have 10K miles on it. I bought it brand new from Bill Rapp and was told that what I was seeing was most likely brake dust that rusts on the rim and that he didn't know what to do to get it off. He kept repeating "I don't know". It was frustrating and very disappointing. He said possibly try a polish but this is what happens with factory brake pads, and repeated "I don't know". I left the dealership very upset and angry. I'm still mad that my new Yukon has rust on the rims and there is basically nothing I can do about it, until I replace the brake pads, and hope that I can find something to take the rust off my rims. This is a huge disappointment. read more

The appraisal was even less than the lowest listed value for a vehicle which is beat up and rusty (which mine is not). Was nothing but a headache. I thought I was getting a good deal on a vehicle with them, but I have had nothing but problems with the vehicle since I bought it. It has required +5,000 in repairs in the two years that I have owned it. Each time I brought it in for service it was a horrible experience and charged me way more than I would have paid elsewhere. They have never had a loaner car available when my car needed work, and it was out of service for months at a time on more than one occasion. I have another friend that bought a vehicle from them and it died in her driveway 2 weeks later. They refuse to acknowledge when they have done bad business and do nothing to keep their customers after the sale. Avoid them like the plague! read more

I did not purchase my 2010 Nissan Frontier from this dealership but just recently had warrantee service performed. As far as the service, Brandon treated me very well and was very courteous and helpful. The two gentlemen that shuttled me back and forth to work (2 days) were terrific as well. As far as my satisfaction with my truck, only time will tell. I had a rear axle seal leak after only 38,0000 miles. The right side axle had to be ordered and replaced because of the recommendation of this type of repair (Per Nissan) so that process took (overall) two business days. Having this type of repair concerns me a great deal after spending $24K for a pickup. I purchased this Nissan 4 years ago because (at that time) I believed the vehicle to be reliable and well built. After reading many blogs and complaints on recent disasters with transmissions, radiator leaks (in transmissions), other rear axle issues and thousands of dollars in repair costs to customers because their trucks or cars were no longer under warrantee, this concerns me a great deal. The blogs and other articles also complained about how Nissan corporate doing very little to correct these known problems and not getting any response back to loyal customers. This concerns me the most! I was very thankful that my truck was still under warrantee for this repair. My concerns is down the road. In another year, it won't be under warrantee for the same type of repair on the other side of the truck with a known issue and an obvious design or defect flaw in the truck's rear end. I asked about this and I was told that only if it happens under the existing 60,000 - 5 year time frame. The 4 Stars above is only for the service department and for the shuttle service back and forth to work. I am very concerns about what is a head of me for this truck and what issues I might have. Nissan does not get any Stars. read more
