lots of lip service on why they have been so far behind on appointment times! 3 visits now ....scheduled appointments each visit....all 3 appointments at their opening time....the least amount of time wasted beyond appt time and an (generous) extra hour for oil change...was an hour....my final and last time ever going to Mavis i wasted an extra 3 whole hours. my appt was at 8am ....they finally took my car in shop at 11am....got my keys back 11:47am? DON'T YOU DO IT!!!! I attempted to have my tires replaced on warranty during an inspection at the Hazleton, PA location. After 3 hours I was told to come back after their warranty department approved the warranty. Nine days later after calling several times, corporate says they'll get back to me. Two days later I call again and they said it was approved. I asked for the tires to be exchanged at another location as I had errands I was doing and they said it could be done. But wait, it gets better.....instead of calling me to deliver bad news they call the assistant manager of the Wilkesbarre, PA location and told them that since the store manager was off on the day I was coming in that I had to go to Hazleton, which they knew was making things difficult because I explained that I would not be in Hazleton that day. So instead of corporate staff having the intestinal fortitude to call me themselves, they instead send the indirect message to their assistant management team that they can't be trusted to handle a warranty issue while also setting them up for failure in case the client, ie me, decides to start yelling at them. Disrespectful, rude customer service, who didn't stand by their word. We made an appointment for today, we even got a ticket number for it, and when we showed up, we were turned down flatly and rudely with no regard to the appointment or the ticket. With 1.5 hours before closing and only 1 customer in the middle of being serviced for alignment, they said we had to walk / come back Monday. I'd like to iterate they called us in to only turn us away. Despite checking a few times to confirm that they had time to service us, and getting those confirmations verbally, the front desk rep said that since we did not speak with them specifically we'd have to come back a different day. Make sure you quadruple check before you believe a word they say. And if you get several confirmations, be ready to be turned away anyway. read more

I went to Mavis in Scranton, and got terrific help. I was in a hurry and did not have an appointment when I went to the Mavis in Stroudsburg, so they set me up with the Mavis in Scranton (heading that direction). I was early for the just set appointment in Scranton, and yet they did not make me wait. They took my car within 5 minutes of arriving and honored the guarantee on my tires. I was missing a lug nut and the tire stud was slipped back so they had to do some work to access the stud and then put on a new lug nut. This was all done at no charge, in August and I bought the tires in January. Note that I bought the tires in Stroudsburg, but it was Pablo at the Scranton location who took care of this work and again, at NO CHARGE! Thank you Pablo!!!!! read more

I had two nails lodged in the left rear tire of my truck and decided to stop by the W Market St Mavis location to get it plugged. The guys there treated me with professionalism and respect. From my wife: I bought a brand new car (2022) that I picked up on Friday. On Sunday, I had to travel out of town to pick my daughter up. About an hour on the trip, I got a flat tire after driving over something very sharp. I called Triple A and they put on my spare. I drove to a Mavis that was a few miles away in Scranton, PA. Mavis told me that they could not replace one tire because they did not have it in stock. They also told me that it would be extremely unsafe for me to drive on a spare to get back home an hour away. Therefore, they told me that I needed to replace ALL FOUR TIRES on my brand new car that had only 88 miles on it. In addition, they linked the invoice to my old car (that had already been traded in), stating they were unable to input a new car into their system. Due to the fact that at this time I had my daughter with me, and the man telling me we wouldn't be safe driving on the spare AND that doing so would ruin my brand new car, I felt stranded and strongly pressured to buy four new tires. I spent almost $1000 after buying this brand new car two days previous. On Monday, I spoke to Toyota service and they told me I was completely duped. The spare tire said very clearly on the tire that I could drive it as long as I was going below 60 mph and that I could have most certainly driven an hour back home and figured out the situation the next day. The service person also told me that for them to say this would ruin my brand new car, with only 88 miles on it, was absolutely ludicrous. In addition, the fact that Mavis linked the work to my old car was also criminal in the sense that Toyota, nor Mavis, no anyone, could ever do anything to help with an invoice that had completely inaccurate information about the car that was being serviced. He strongly suggested that I contact Mavis Headquarters and demand a reimbursement for three tires as there is no reason they should have told me I needed them. I called Mavis Headquarters on Monday, 6/27 and spoke to a woman who said the Regional Manager of the Scranton location would call me back that day. He didn't. I called back late that afternoon and was told again that he'd call me. He didn't. I called Tuesday morning, following up and saying I never got a call from the Regional Manager. She confirmed she got a hold of him, that he'd looked at my report and would be calling me that day to work things out. He didn't. Tuesday afternoon, my husband called to follow up. The woman said in addition to leaving another message with the Regional Manager, she would also contact his boss due to the lack of correspondence. No calls back from either person. On Wednesday 6/19, my husband called again and spoke to a different man. This one told us that the regional manger had left for the day but that he would DEFINITELY call me back first thing Thursday morning, 6/30. He did not call. My husband called again and was assured I would be getting a call right away. It's 11:30am on Thursday and I have received no call. Now it is obvious to me that they are blatantly ignoring and avoiding my complaint. This is absolutely unacceptable, unprofessional, and criminal behavior. read more

I started going to this place in 2011. I got a lot of work done which I was happy with, well until I needed exhaust work done I spent 250 dollars for a pipe that was rusted under the car. The problem was not fixed right the car made a terrible rattling sound and I brought the car back and they said it was my imagination and matter-of-fact I brought it back three different times they told me I was hearing things after the third time I got so frustrated that I ended up taking it to my mechanic and he said that they did the pipe wrong. I ended up calling their corporate office as well as emailing their corporate office and no response I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and still nothing happened to them so my mechanic had to do it the right way and it cost me another $250 Other than that job everything else they did was pretty satisfactory I was really disappointed that I could not take my car back there anymore but they were so rude and basically told me that I was crazy in a roundabout way all the other work they did was great except for the exhaust work. Ok so I tried to give this place another chance and still the same rude people and all kids are irking here no adults . Managers are not the best esp the overweight Spanish guy . But when I got there to get my tires installed they said they only had two and they could get the other two the next day. Been a customer of this business call Mavis muffler on Market Street in Scranton Pennsylvania for over 20 years. Spent many many many thousands of dollars. Recently after having $1,200 worth of work done there last October, I had just a week or so ago in early June of 2018 gotten under my truck to look at the gas tank when I noticed that the shocks were old rusted ruined with cracked dry rotted rubber bushings. I didn't believe the shocks were changed and thought that it might have been a mistake or an error on the part of the employees, so I went into the shop and spoke to Ken the alleged manager and supposedly a competent mechanic. Without even lifting his eyes up from the paper he was looking at Ken told me that I was badly mistaken and that that was impossible that they charge me $400 for shots. He didn't even want to come out and look at the car.. That would have been today this morning but I got no call... I'm still waiting and I just like to let all the people who are going up to Cole Muffler know that you better very carefully check the work they claim to have done or you'll end up in the same boat as I am $400 worth of rusty old shocks on your car and an ignorant arrogant condescending manager who doesn't want to hear anything read more

The worst experience ever! I called the number listed on the web site and spoke to Frank who told me my tires would be at the Mavis Tire/Cole Muffler Location by 2 pm Tomorrow (Tuesday). I asked that he schedule an appointment to make sure I could get in and have the tires replaced because I had a long trip to make and the tires were in dangerous condition. He assured me that I did not need an appointment and that they would get me in right away. So the next day, I drove the hour down to the location and I am told by the Darren, the assistant manager, that it will be over 90 minutes before they could get me in. I asked about taking the tires to another location and having them mounted. He said it was possible to take them to a location 15 minutes away and have them mounted right away. After checking on the tires, Darren told me the tires were not in the shop and that they only get tire deliveries on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, so there was no way Frank could have had my tires at the shop location on a Tuesday. So I was misled on all accounts and extremely upset having taken off an afternoon from work, spend two hours driving, and still was not able to get the tires replaced. This is the second time I was told that this location has problems with employees showing up for work and customers are significantly delayed or unable to get tires. I will never use Mavis Tire again. The silver lining is on the way back from Scranton, I stopped by a tire shop that was friendly, gets tire deliveries every day, was less expensive, rotated the tires to make sure they were safe (for free), and was much cleaner with better wireless than Mavis. read more
