Had an appointment at 2 didn't get me in till 3 and then waited till 6pm for them to only mount and balance 4 tires. Blasting rap music in shop that you could hear in the waiting room. Workers had nasty attitudes about everything. There was a lady that they tried to get 1,600 dollars out of for work that wasn't needed on her car and proceeded to give it back with warning lights on that weren't on before and insisted that they didn't have a scanner to remove them. She ended up calling corporate then the scanner magically appeared. Everyone that was there while I was there had a problem with the service. Service was terrible. Went in for inspection and came out with a new battery when there was nothing wrong with it and working properly. I asked for a front end alignment after I purchased tires from them and I then had stability track lights on and they didn't want to fix it and wanted me to come back another day when my car had been there already for 7 hours. I had to call their corporate office and had to look the number up on the internet. That information was not posted anywhere in the store. After the corporate office got involved I was able to get my car fixed. There were other very unhappy customers in the store with me. Not pleased. Multiple experiences first time lug nuts weren't tight. Second tires were not balanced correctly.

Excellent service. I buy my tires and get my oil changed at Mavis in Dickson City. They are always helpful, fast, and efficient. I ran over a nail and they were able to get me right in and fix it. not to mention the free air machine outside is a huge plus while other places charge $1.25 or more for air it's nice to be able to get it at no charge. read more

When you're sitting at the tire place for three hours, tires are being sent from another store because they were out of stock, they've had a week since you made the appointment to get them here and your iPad has 2% battery life left. And it's cold. And they jack Roku or something so the TV doesn't work. Won't return ever again. read more

So I went down here to get new tires and a PA inspection in 2021. Tires were what I wanted and installed properly. Unfortunately they would not inspect due to a small crack in two of my rims, although they were not causing the rim to leak. Called for warranty info because the tires wore out extremely quickly and was told there warranty wouldn't cover it so I should contact Bridgestone directly. Service has always been good and people always seem very nice! Only thing I wasn't happy with is that I asked for mileage of when my tires got changed and apparently whomever put it in the system put ~90k when they changed at like ~134k (I didn't even own the car until 98k miles). read more

I've worked on car for the better part of 10 years. I thought The Mavis store in Dickson City Pa. had earned my trust. After a year or so they betrayed the trust I had in them. I brought my car for an inspection. And I looked it over like I always do and referred to past receipts. so I new it should pass inspection easily. I was wrong. it failed. I then drove my car to the nearby State Police barracks to confirm that my brakes and rotors needed to be replaced, and low and behold the trooper said they were good and it should have passed. so I went to the dealership I purchased the car at for the inspection, Guess what ? it passed no problem. Took my car to get an alignment as it was pulling to the right. After picking my car up, it still pulled to the right. I called and they let me bring the car back to do the alignment again. The manager apologized and said it was indeed still out of alignment but that it was "good to go" now. That was not the case. It was STILL pulling. At this point I called corporate as I was not going to bring the car back there for a third time...corporate proceeded to transfer me back to the store itself and the manager insisted that I was wrong and "out of line" for insinuating they weren't doing something correctly. Finally spoke to a regional manager whom insinuated there may be "other things" wrong with my vehicle. After all this, I took my car to a different shop to get an alignment and they said the previous location was CLEARLY not doing the alignment right and that there is absolutely nothing wrong with my vehicle. read more

Dropped my car off to get a tire fixed. It was leaking and needed a patch. That was at 12:00, I was told an hour at most hour and a half it should be done. 2:30 I called to ask if it was done, they said oh we are actually pulling it in right now. 5:00 I call back they say I will get someone on it right now. 6:00 I show up to find my car sitting outside finished and no call to come pick it up. 6 hours they had my vehicle to patch a tire. The best the guy could do was say that the person who told me an hour wait didn't know what they were talking about. They waived the fee. Thats why they get 1 star. read more

Took my yukon in for 2 tires. Made appointment for noon. They tried talking me into buying 4 tires and an alignment, which was not what I wanted. They could not comprehend tire rotation I requested. I believe this happened because I'm female, as soon as I had my husband call, which the woman answering phone, Sarah, just didn't seem to understand. I had used MAVIS Tire in Taylor for many years. I needed my car inspected and made an appointment w the West Market Street Location as my preferred location was temporarily closed. I arrived early and was informed that there was a 3 hour wait and that their waiting room was closed. I said "ok I will come back in 3 hrs and then wait outside" and was informed that then I would be put at the end of any new arrivals! I will NEVER go back! The staff was very rude and I feel also unprofessional! Don't schedule and have a website where you can schedule appointments if it is a first come first serve business! I would have went when business opened if that was the case! It should also indicate on website that waiting room is closed~and in that case I feel they should offer customers the option to come back with their original spot in the Line of customers! read more

On May 12th I had all four tires put on along with the alignment done. The life-span expectancy of these tires is 40,000 miles and they were the exact same tires that were on the car a year ago when I bought it and lasted through the 25,000 miles I had put on my car since that time (I travel a lot for work). Imagine my surprise when I had my inspection done 4 months later in August and the inspector said that the tread of my front two tires were down to a level 3 and a 5 and my back two tires were at a level 8 when I had only put 7,000 miles on the car since getting them put on (traveling far less because of covid). When I told him I had gotten all four of these tires put on at the same time 4 months ago he said that was highly unlikely. There should not be such discrepancy between the tread tires if so. When I went back to Mavis, thinking either they only put on 2 brand new tires (and charged me for 4) or the alignment was done wrong, they took no responsibility for their work or the product they sold me. They did not seem alarmed or concerned about my situation, more so annoyed, and told me to call the dealer of the tire to talk to them about it. All they offered me was excuses as to why this may have happened such as being caused by the way I drive and that I live in an area with a lot of pot holes (Scranton). Then they offered a discount on their labor and 2 new tires of the same make for them to put on that day- like I would ever trust them to do any work on my car again! I would never recommend this place to anyone I know and will spread the word.
