Joe, whom I guess is the GM is absolutely the most rude person I've ever had to deal with and then for him to try and argue with me when they initially made the mistake and also was extremely rude to the Mazda Service GM as well. I had ordered 2 each Mavis all season tires as a 225/65/16 for my partner's Mazda CX5. I get there this morning, they had ordered a Mavis AST AS 225/55/16 so, then I had to wait for them to get me the correct tires, so I had to come back to get the proper tires. After I was originally told they would take 2 hours to recieve. They call me back 30 min later that they found two appropriate tires in stock, so now I am having to again rush to get there so I am able to take them to the Mazda Riverhead dealership. I get back home get ready for work in Amityville and begin to head there. I get a call from Mazda that they had given me the wrong size to purchase from Mavis. So, as I was already on my way to work, the Mazda service GM called me if I could get them swapped appropriately for what should be a 225/65/17. I told the Mazda GM that unfortunately I was already on my way to work and if there was a way I could ask him to get the tires from Mavis. He politely accepted and stated he would call over to Mavis to see if they could make the swap and I would pay the difference in tires which was $40 in the end. The Joe a-hole decided to be a, well, an a-hole to the GM of Mazda and told him off and told him it was already the third time now they had to make a switch to the tire...first off. The first mistake was made by you (Mavis tires, Riverhead) in the first place!!! Mavis had ordered the wrong size tire either way!!!. So, no need to yell at the Mazda Service GM at all! The second mistake was made by Mazda (technically could even be the initial mistake giving me the wrong size but at least they owned up to the issue and corrected it) Then, on my way back to go to Mazda to pick up the tires and exchange for a second time, a shrapnel comes my way, which I have to dodge and end up having to dodge it, rupture my tire, having to take my own car to the Toyota dealership, etc. If this Joe J*ckas* had just been a helpful human and not an a-hole, this part could have been averted. The Mazda Service GM actually was a great human being and came out to help me put my spare tire onto my vehicle and even made sure I had a vehicle to drive from Mazda for free to get the tires back and forth to Mavis!!! So, back to getting to Mavis, the other Service member helps me and has to make a call to get the tires switched out again to their service desk, and the Joe A-hole decides to make a scene with not only myself and also to his employee, by yelling at me how this is the third time he has had to switch these out. Not my fault broskie!!! I told him to calm down and no need to be rude to the customer. Then he decided to keep going and when I told him, no need to raise your voice at me or even be an asshole, as he decides to say, "oh im being an asshole"? With my response, "Uhm, yes sir you are. You dont need to be a rude A-hole. He then tries to tell me to watch my cussing in front of the lady whom happened to be behind myself. I tell him, I actually caught myself and said a-hole the second time so, he then tries to tell me to apologize to the lady. He then goes out to see the tires and starts to yell at the young service member gentleman and yell at him that I need the sticker for the tire return and at that point, I tell him then he needs to call the Mazda Service GM and he again becomes rude to tell me that I need to be the one to call him..excuse me? Like, what a great leader you are to your employers and how much of a d*ck you are to your customers. He then has the audacity to ask me where I am from where I respond to him saying that I am from Texas where we tend to have some southern hospitality and not need to be some NY a-hole such as himself. Purchased new tires for Ford F150 before taking a long trip. Had an appointment for 9am. Figured it would take maybe 2-3 hours the most and wound up taking the whole day. Took truck home and realized after washing rims that a lug-nut was missing. Called Mavis and they said to bring it right in. So upon bringing it in they had us wait approximately 30 minutes so they could walk across street to purchase a lug-nut. Workers are non sympathetic and not very professional. Mavis Tire, Riverhead, NY * I went in for front brakes on my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek. $1,600 later, front brakes/rotors, two new hubs/bearings, inspection, new battery, oil change. I'm not sure if I really needed new hubs but Subaru does recommend replacing the hubs/bearings at 100,000 miles and my car is at 112,000 so ok. But, they never changed the battery or the oil, so I had to go back to have them do that. A few weeks later, the rear brakes began making horrible metallic scraping noises. So I went back. $600 plus dollars later they told me I needed new rear brakes/rotors. They also replaced my front driver's side axel/cv joint. Fine. When I went to pick up my car, I heard the same metal scraping noise that originally had brought me there for the rear brakes. So I had to bring it back to re-do the rear brakes no charge. I went to pick up my car, no noise this time. One week later, the rear driver's side wheel began making deep grinding noises. I went back, they said it was the hub, the 3rd since July 24th when they replaced the 1st two hubs along with the front brakes/rotors. I picked up my car and the low grinding noise was gone, but there was a new scraping metal noise when driving straight or to the right, like a Brillo pad going in circles on a pan. I went back. Two days later I went to pick it up, and the same noise was still there, meaning, they either did absolutely nothing, or they are totally incompetent. So, I went back again! This time they took another two days and the same scraping noise was still happening. They took off the wheel, which was scraping with every rotation. Keith, the mechanic said it was "two pins" which he proceeded to grind off with a grinder. We took a test drive but the noise was only lessened not gone nor properly addressed. So, in conclusion, after spending a total of $2,527 since July 24th, I am currently requesting that Mavis Corporate issue a $300 refund for the rear brakes/rotors job so that I can go to Meineke in Southampton, NY to have it properly repaired. Horrifying customer service from 2 complete slobs behind the counter. My husband and I had a flat on our 40' camper a considerable distance from home. In googling tire places and we're relieved to see mavis 1/4 mile away. At 4:30 we contacted them and asked for the tire size we needed, luckily they had it. They confirmed and told me to just come down to have it installed. To be safe, I made an appointment via their online scheduler for two days later. The best part was they had no idea about the tire. I would have to order it again AND make another appointment for a future date. My favorite experience at this Mavis Discount Tire location happened just yesterday! Earlier that day, my usual mechanic had given me new brake pads, rotors, calipers and an axel. He doesn't do alignments, so I decided to take my car to this wonderful Mavis location to finish the job. After taking two hours when they told me it would be done in one (whatever, I figured that would happen), I came to pick it up. The old dude who rang me up really tried telling me after giving me the total that one of his guys test drove my car beforehand & it was "violently shaking every time it decelerates," so I must get a NEW AXEL or else further damage would ensue! Took our car into Mavis to get our tires replaced then brought it to the dealer for an alignment and some additional work the day after Mavis completed its work. The dealer discovered that one of the tires was cross threaded when Mavis installed the new tire. It cost us $675 to replace the wheel hub. Mavis never took ownership of their mistake and were rude in putting forth a changing story as to why it could not have been them. It could not have been anyone but them. I had to update my review about Mavis Discount Tire in Riverhead after speaking with Juan, the manager, today. I was reviewing my bill and noticed I was charged for something I didn't want. He was very helpful and took it off my bill. He also apologized again for the terrible experience I had. Thankfully, my Mom needed to run errands (one of them being Costco, which we went to last because we had refrigerated and frozen items) in Riverhead so she picked me up. I never heard from Mavis but it was 11:45 (3 hours instead of 2) so I figured it must be done. We went back and my car was STILL in the same spot, tires untouched. Juan, the head manager, said something happened and he was very sorry. My car was going to be a priority and the new tires & oil change would be done in 40 minutes. 20 minutes later, he came out to tell me that the tires I had reserved never showed up to the shop so he was going to give me a 'far superior' tires for the same price and a lifetime guarantee incase anything happens to the tires. An hour and fifteen minutes from the time we arrived, my car was finally done. Now - the bill came out to $960 for four new tires & an oil change. He told me when you reserve online and get a tire quote, it doesn't account for tax and labor. As if the story couldn't get any better, my brother went to Southampton Tire this same day and paid the SAME price, he didn't have an appointment, and was in/out of there within an hour. I would leave no stars, but you have to leave at least one. Went in for new tire to replace one that had been plugged incorrectly at another place. I had a reservation, which meant nothing. After a 2.5 hour wait, my car was finished. Good thing I checked the tires, because they left on bad tire, removed a perfectly good tire and replaced it with a new tire. They add $40 to the warranty(For What?) and $10 to the recycle charge(really). They charge you $90(really) for the wheel alignment but it's usually $50 for other places. I waited 5 hours and it only took one hour when they started fixing my car. Then, they said that they gave me $50 discount but it's a lie because I paid for it. They are scamming you for $90 out of their pocket. I should be paying around $600 for this. read more
