FIRESTONE RIVERHEAD: Do. Not. Go. Rude and incompetent management. Back story: as a multitasking wizard I dropped my truck off to be inspected while I got my nails done. Called to say car was ready for pick up. Paid the $37, got in the car and realized there was no inspection sticker. I go back inside to find out what's up (truck is Tacoma, 2017, in excellent condition and well maintained). I ask why i wasnt given this info and was told "im not the technician im just working the desk," like what???? I'm told the computer needed to be reset and I should drive it 100 miles and bring it back. Okay, like that's a huge pain in the ass since I live where I live and it's a summer traffic nightmare to go back there.... 500 miles later I go back. The "supervisor" hooks up his little electronic machine and tells me I need to drive it further. I explain it's been 500 miles and the car is overdue for servicing, no one has touched or reset any computer. No answer. No solution. Other than I just have to keep driving it. The "supervisor" called the branch manager for me. I could hear him chasing on the other end, saying "tell her she just has to drive the fuvking car, I'm not speaking to her." How can you NOT offer a solution, offer to look into what's going on with my car, and then NOT speak to me or try to make it right? I'm off to Toyota to see what's going on with my car bc I can't drive around without an inspection sticker. So irritated. read more

Have been going to this Firestone for years. Always had a good experience with the Manager Rick. If he's not there, run. I recently recommended the center to a friend who needed a simple oil change. Rick was off that day & Anthony wrote up the order. She took a walk and 2 hours later he called to say "We can't get the plate off your car to drain the oil so we can't do it." He said come back tomorrow at 9 am and we can do it. Next day, drops car off, 3 hours later (!) no word, friend goes back and the worker who was going to do the job didn't come in. No phone call, no text from Anthony to let her know. Ridiculous. She went to a local repair shop & they removed the plate without any trouble. This center has really gone downhill. Horrific customer service and in my own experience, Anthony tries to sell more services than might be needed. That day they lost two customers. I will never go back there again. read more

This Firestone is outstanding. Rick, the manager, has always been fantastic. But I believe he was on vacation today when I brought my car in for its inspection. My car had a problem and the gentleman at the register and one of the mechanics came up with a creative, problem-solving solution. Both of these men were wonderful! Everyone at this shop has always been very professional and very honest. I called on a Friday and got an appointment on Monday. Firestone is the is the biggest scam artist. Beware. I had my sons car towed there to fix a flat tire. They refused to release the car unless we got two tires put on the car. I told them my son couldn't afford two tires and that's against the law to request him to put two tires in when only one has a flat. The tires are brand new. So my son goes to pick up the car and now the car won't start and they had to jump it to get him to leave. I think they messed with car. They also broke the sensor for the tire so now lights are on the car. read more

DDo not trust these people to do a wheel alignment. My car required a 4 wheel alignment. Tthey only aligned the front, did not tell me they didn't align the rear wheels and told me all was ddone. I later requested a printout and discovered the rear was not done. They claimed rear Ttoe was frozen, but they did not attempt to free it. My local mechanic freed up the toe and aadvised there was no sign they even attempted to free it up. They lied to me. Totally uuntrustworthy read more

Today, Sunday, On our way to catch the 11 am ferry at Orient Point we encountered a low tire light. Luckily it happened right near Firestone in Riverhead. Originally Rick the manager said it would be about an hour wait when Jonathan appeared and said he would do it right away for us. After discovering the tire needed to be replaced as there was 2 holes that would not be patchable, Jonathan got our ok to go ahead. He actually apologized for not seeing the larger hole first which was the deciding factor in replacing the tire and thus taking longer. This is not a pleasure trip as are on our way to MA for a funeral. They made it happen and got us out without delays. We are ever so grateful for their efficiency, professionalism and kindness and got the job as quickly as possible and we were able to make the 11 am ferry by minutes. Very unprofessional, took my car here to have a broken bolt taken off my car, they ended up snapping two in half and going at my car with a blowtorch and hammer and still charged $150 for an incomplete job, had to spend $200 to tow the car to a mechanic and they had zero issues fixing the problem. After making a complaint one of the Firestone employees, not the manager, called me blaming me for the issue and questioning why I made a complaint. Highly unprofessional and I do not reccomend going here for your issues. read more

Walked in, no appointment, asked for a quote on 2 front tires for my son's car, gave me it in like 30 seconds and then told me it'll be done in one hour. Very bad customer service. They act like they're doing you a favor by booking an appointment for you. They have very few times available, even when trying to schedule up to a week in advance for a simple service. I have a job in customer service and understand how difficult it can be, but I would NEVER treat a customer so rudely. I'm a broke college student, so I was originally drawn to this place by the lower price for what I was looking for. In the future, I'd gladly pay the extra money if it meant I didn't have to deal with these people... and that's saying a lot considering I can hardly afford to put gas in my car. Came in with a flat, that the tow guy said was just a hole that could get a plug. Then was talked into buying a new tire and when I asked for the tire back was talked in circles. Also while I was there all 5 other customers that came in were told to buy new tires. I understand they are in the tire selling business but some times all a person can afford is a plug for their tire and it can help. The probability of all 6 of us needing new tires instead of just a fix is hard to phantom. My tire was only 6 months old. read more

The only thing they are good at is taking your money. Double of the time for service . It takes 1 h and half for oil change while everywhere else is 45 minutes. Plus at the phone they told me that the price will be 38$$ . At the moment of payment I had a coupon for 25$ off , and at the end price instead of decrease to 13$$ , the total become 55$ . Anthony the big fat guy in the counter is a racist one. He doesn't know how to speak on the phone and is so rude. Not professional at all. A place like this should have friendly and professional people who know how to do a great costumer service. Just like in a dealership. They take over 2 hrs just for an alignment. While I was waiting a Latino lady parked in front basically asking for help for a flat tire her truck had. He told her he was busy and his worker (not workers) was by himself doing 3 cars at a time. Also told her to put the spare tire on and come back tomorrow. 10mins later a white American lady got in saying she had a nail in her tire. The most unfriendly crooked auto shop I've ever been to. Yet get a price before the job is done and then both times it changed when I went to pay. I also have a corporate account for our nationwide business but was pretty much told they didn't want our business. Barnswell is a great place to get tires if you have a national account. I had an excellent experience at this location. Tire change was done quickly and cheaply. All of my requests were taken care of - I didn't have to ask twice. The techs were all very nice and easy to talk to. The work was done competently. What more can I say? I wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future. read more

He was honest and genuine. Told me not to drive it and get rid of it instead of wasting money fixing it. Gave me the advise to wait and save up for a better car. I am so upset with the manager and whomever is picking up the phones today (09/29/18). I went in to get an inspection and an oil change about a month ago. Unfortunately my car didn't pass inspection due to some minor issues and he told me what else (outside of the inspection) my car needed. He also said they were doing a promotion where if I signed up for their credit card, my oil change would only cost $14.99. I took that deal. He said that because my car didn't pass he would only charge me $9.99 for a "Firestone safety check". I go up to pay my bill and he hands me three different papers, and at the time I thought I was being charged too much but I stupidly didn't look immediately because I was pressed for time. When I did read it I realized I didn't get the $14.99 oil change, like I was told. I was charged full price, and my bill came to nearly $75.00- which clearly doesn't add up. Later that night I got an email from Firestone asking me to take a survey. I answered everything honestly and gave them an 8 out of 10 stars even though I felt ripped off. Around 9:30am the following morning I get a phone call from the same manager I had dealt with at Firestone, angrily asking me why I didn't give them a 10/10 stars. He was incredibly rude over the phone and kept telling me I wasn't charged anything more than what he said I would be, and I didn't get the $14.99 promotion because my car needed an extra quart of oil! What??? Shouldn't I have been told this from the beginning? Fast forward to today. I received my Firestone credit card bill in the mail and wanted to call so I could go over the charges with them. Almost immediately I was met with a nasty attitude. I'm a woman, and I felt like because of that he felt he could take advantage of me and talk down to me like I'm a moron! He said the bill was higher because they bought a part for my car, which I never asked them to do! Not to mention I was never contacted when this part came in, and he says "it's been sitting here since August waiting on you." I got so angry I hung up on him. Several hours later, my fiancé called them back and very politely explained who he was, and the jerk at Firestone said "yea I know who you are and your girlfriend hung up on me" and he proceeds to then hang up on my fiancé! Wow, real professional! Had he not been rude from the get go, none of this would've happened. So now I'm obviously stuck paying for a part I never asked them to buy, and I certainly don't want them putting it in! I'm worried they'll mess up something else on purpose, especially after seeing how childish he was hanging up on my fiancé. I just want to go pick up the piece I bought and have someone else install it. I cannot believe this is the way they treat their customers. I had my car towed there, it wouldn't turn over. They told me to do an electrical system check they needed to install a new battery. I asked them to charge the existing one, it was only a year old and could not have been totally dead. After charging me for a new battery as electrical test they told me I needed to bring the car to a dealer because they didn't know what was wrong with it. I had the car towed to my mechanic I normally use (my car broke down Saturday afternoon and my mechanic would not be able to get to it until Monday). Within 15 minutes my mechanic told me I had a bad starter and they should have charged my battery before they sold me a new one. I called the manager at Firestone to ask why they didn't figure out I had a bad alternator during the electrical system check. He talked around the subject then told me it was only $27 and I could go down and get a refund. They charged me $247 for a battery I didn't need and an electrical system check that they didn't do. Wanted to get all new tires & an oil change. And like most people, I work 9-5, so I need work done before 8am, or after 6pm; which of course you can't get an appointment for. I don't get it. First day of the month and I always drive my car to get the inspection done since it expired the previous month August. I left my home at 8am and I drive first to Firestone in Riverhead. I waited about 20 mins for the person to finish with the previous customer. It's finally my turn I told him I needed an inspection he said if I had an appointment I said no. He said that it would take hours to do the inspection since I didn't have an appointment. Then he proceeds to tell me that all shops require appointments for an inspection and gone are the days of waiting 30 mins for an inspection! That i am not the only one that thinks to get the sticker done at the end of the month. I left annoyed because every year I do this in Queens with no issues. I drove directly across the street to a car dealership/ auto mechanic shop. The shop owner a WOMAN!! Named Luann right away when I pulled in and asked if they did the inspections she said of course. I explained what happened across the street and she told me that they send away people all the time. She just opened and was so nice she even offered to clean my car. She wasn't pushy at all trying to sell me services I didn't ask for. As a woman it's nice to see a woman doing this job because so many times these places give us the run around. Dont make an appointment or schedule anything to be done here. I have made appointments for inspections etc and am asked to leave the car when I get there...why would I make an appointment at a specific time if your not gonna stick to it? Today 2pm appt and asked if I was going home and coming back as could take 1 1/2 hours to 2... the service manager said that is how long it takes. Really? Takes 2 hours for a non emission inspection? You need to hire new people if thats how long it takes as I see it done in 15 minutes. Your time and life means nothing to them...go some place that values your business!!! read more

This Firestone is the worst place to bring your vehicle. Had them just do an alignment and wheel balance. I'm a retired car dealer and certified technician. After they did these repairs the vehicle. I looked underneath and they did not fully perform the alignment. Bitched to them and they stood there just looking at me. Took it elsewhere and they aligned it in half and hour and the vehicle was fine. This Firestone is also always looking for help on Career Builders websites all the time. after demanding over 500 dollars back on a bs brake job on my wifes minivan,my truck was in their service shop for a simple oil change....... long story short i had to get my truck towed to another service station to do the right job on it! all my oil spilled out of my truck. now firestone has me down two vehicles within 3 days. they cant be serious can they?
