The staff were pleasant. The waiting room was comfortable. You obviously can't judge the quality of an auto shop based on an inspection, but it was a great experience. I'm going to use them for routine maintenance going forward.

I took my vehicle to this shop based on their positive Google reviews, hoping to find a reliable…read moreplace near my new job. I was told my brakes and tires needed replacing, and as I commute long distances I wanted to make sure my vehicle was well equipped to handle winter conditions on the LIE. After my inspection was finished, I was quoted $1,079 for the brake replacement, new tires and the inspection, but when I went to pick up my car, I was charged in two installments (as the repairs took place on separate days) and the total was nearly $1,400--almost $320 more than what I was told the total would come out to be. To make matters worse, they removed my front license plate covers and replaced them with their own advertising covers without asking for my permission. Not only was I upset by the unauthorized advertising on my vehicle, but they also put my front license plate on upside down. (See attached photo for proof.) The final straw was hearing my brakes grinding after they had supposedly replaced them. This was incredibly disappointing and left me feeling taken advantage of. I had hoped to find a trustworthy auto shop for future service needs close to work, but instead, I feel like this place took advantage of my situation as a young woman needing an inspection. I won't be returning, and I strongly recommend you get a second opinion before trusting this business with your vehicle.

New *** UPDATE ***…read more11/12/25 My interaction with the team over at Riverhead Mazda service department was so impressive that I came back the following week to purchase a second car!!! Again I was treated with respect and a knowledgeable team effort to ensure my needs were met. Special Thanks to my sales advisor Robyn who made herself available to me even during her time off to answer questions and assisted with connecting me to onsite staff promptly. Gerson (sales manager) worked together seamlessly with Robyn from start of sale until the end. Again Riverhead Mazda Team went way above and beyond! ***Original Review *** 11/02/25 Phenomenal SERVICE DEPARTMENT!!!! Thank you Greg Williams and your ENTIRE Service Team for providing me with respect. After purchasing a Mazda from another dealer in Huntington not only were you able to finally fix an on going issue that I had been having since day of purchase (from them the previous year) but you and your team went above and beyond to rectify my relationship with Mazda after their dealership dismissed and minimized my issue (while failing to present the product that I paid for with my hard earned money). You were HONEST, informative and attentive the moment I walked in which made my experience easy and amazing. Good people are hard to find, thank you for being one. I am so happy and will not hesitate to be a return customer with you and your team at Riverhead Mazda. THANK YOU!!!!

I called, and a nice man said to just bring in the car. Harry is great! He said that they heard noises, but maybe it was just because of old oil. Then, after the oil was changed, he said, nope, it's something else. The oil change was done, and they also said that they could diagnose the check engine light problem. I could come back on Friday. So I did, and the wonderful Edgar fixed the trim clips and removed some yucchy stuff from my temporary fix. He also ran the diagnostics, but alas the results were the same as my cheap OBM-II. They're going to do a smoke test ($180) and figure it out. I jokingly asked if they could just use a cigar, and he laughed. He kindly explained how the machine worked. They get their parts directly from the manufacturer, which is good, and hopefully much less than the dealership. I told him that Land Rover in CO wanted $5000 to diagnose and fix the problem, and Edgar was incredulous. I'm delighted with service I received, and very convinced of the capability and honesty of the mechanics here. This is tucked away on Montauk Highway. Definitely a hidden gem, lol.
