Bought batteries, tires, oil changes etc. I was there yesterday, called fri and your desk person told me to come in at 8am , I needed brakes , told him to do all 4 but only needed rear pads and a oil change. Arrived at 8am , was told multiple times , your Jeep is being worked on. I saw 8 other people walk in , they were taken care of. Every time your guy said thanks and sorry for the wait to them. I never complained. I sat for 3hrs , no sorry for the wait or thank you. In at 8am out at 11am , $566. If he is still there I will never go back. Horrible , this is just a flat tire place , anything more than that you wait 3hrs. read more

I needed two tires before the impending snow storm. So I called and spoke to a nice gentleman about the availability of tires. He had what I needed so the next day, no appointment necessary. I pulled in at 9 a.m. and was put back in my car 25 minutes later!!! I received excellent customer service, was offered coffee from the truck, and had a pleasant experience all around. They have a new customer in me and I will be recommending this shop to all my friends read more

Mike and Kevin were great helping me with my flat tire on a rental car. New tire ordered and put on in a reasonable amount of time.

The waiting area is filthy and the vending machine needs a good thrashing to release the goodies but these guys are knowledgable, honest, friendly and have reasonable prices. They used state of the art equipment to fix a problem - an alignment that nobody so far had been able to do correctly - and didn't try to talk me into a new set of tires or anything else. These guys were great! Hubby and I took our 6mo old on our first road trip to North Fork, Long Island and one of the indicator lights went on in our rental car. Both of us are terrible with all things auto-related so we stopped into this shop to ask them to take a look at it. They were awesome! Super patient and accommodating. They told us that the indicator was for our tire pressure and checked all of the tires and inflated them to a safe level for us at no charge. We went back to our hotel but the indicator light was still flashing so the next day we returned and they graciously checked again. Everything was fine and they told us that the problem was probably just with the indicator light. Again, no charge, friendly and professional service. They could easily have taken advantage of us but they were super honest. Highly recommend. read more

Had a very positive previous experience and have recommended them, but that was then and this is now. Asked about having a wheel alignment and asked about bring it is the next week at a particular date and time. I was told to plan on leaving it for 2 hours. When I arrived on time, after planning my day around this appointment, I was told that I had gotten the wrong idea. There are no appointment for alignments and that I need to leave it the rest of the day. Was I told there were no appointments, NO. Was I told that it was first come, first serve, NO. They were very busy ("there are 6 alignments ahead of you"). Be forewarned that for a service like this you may well need to leave the car ALL DAY. Since that would have involved 2, 10 mile bus rides, needless to say I am having the work done elsewhere! If the manager had said, "Didn't I tell you that?" it would have been OK. But to immediately blame me, the customer, did not go down well!!! read more

My car is an older car and the gears in the steering box were shot. I took it to tire country to get it fixed, and I also needed an inspection which they did. I picked it up, and everything seemed fine except that the back right side of my car was making a rattling noise. The guy was acting very shady when I went back in after I picked it up because I had forgotten my receipt. I took it back the next morning because of the rattling sound, and he told me that my muffler had rotted off and I needed a new one. He said to bring it back Monday and I agreed. He had however, taken my keys and had forgotten to give them back to me. So I went back in to the shop to get them, and I proceeded to hear him and his coworker saying that it was "so obvious " that my muffler had rotted out, and had proceeded to make fun of me for asking him to even look at it. If the problem was so obvious, why wasn't I called when they inspected it? These people here are very rude and clearly do not care about their customers or their business. They also kept my car longer than they said they would and never called me to tell me that their repairs were taking longer then they expected. I do not recommend going to these people. read more

Needed new tires. Called ahead and they ordered them and arrived the next day. Was in and out within 30-40 minutes. Mike was very helpful, honest and efficient. Did quick and excellent work. Definitely will go back for service in the future. read more

I just left Tire Country at 12:15pm after arriving there at 7:35am this morning. I went there two days ago to get a parasitic battery drain fixed and was told they couldn't help me til today. Generally in businesses, it's first come, first served, but not here. After 4 1/2 hours of watching people pull in, get there cars fixed, and leaving, I asked for my keys back and left. A BIG WASTE OF TIME! I wasn't about to pay them anything for that insult. I sense that this enterprise caters to locals from the surrounding area, and summer visitors aren't a priority, and possibly are a mark to be taken advantage of. I'm a year round resident of the area, but my phone number is still a 718 number from 25 years ago. Never again. read more

I took my car in because of some exhaust problems. They said I needed 2 new catalytic converters and quoted me $1300 to fix it. I got another opinion from meineke and they said my cats were fine and just needed a flex pipe. $250 later, my car was fixed at meineke. My fiancé has been going to Tire Country for years- not anymore. I cannot believe the dishonesty. Do yourself a favor and stay away from them. read more

Just moved to Riverhead, N.Y. a few months ago and needed work on my Ram 1500. I actually got the referral for Tire Country from the AutoZone up the road. Mike and the staff did a great job and stuck to the quoted price. After getting soaked so many times in the past by so many crook repair shops, it's GREAT to finally find an honorable and trustworthy shop. I'll be back! read more

In the past this was a good place that did the right thing by their customers. Now all the care about is to make money any means possible. For years my car pass inspection with legal tints. I have the same tints as Mike at the front desk at the place. The first year the law came out he check my car in front of me and it passed because it let more than 70% light in. Today he claimed in the past they were letting me "slide" and not checking it. Which was a lie. You have to check the car and you can't let it slide as he claims. I called the shop and spoke to mike about something that needed to be replaced. I told him I had the part. He told me they will not work on the car if the customer buys themselves and brings it in. I told him exactly what was wrong since it's a common issue with my car and then went on to quote more parts needed to be replaced without even looking at my car. Sold me a used tired from 2004 and cracks running through it. I understand used tires come with a little more wear but selling a tire over 10 years old is putting your customers at risk for an accident. Go to Mavis Tire Country, they only sell new tires and the prices are basically the same. read more
