They can make Moctales, fish is good, always cooked to perfection! I am giving 4 star, its doesn't have decent vegan or even sea food option. For us not being able to eat meat, atleast give other option. The nacho cheese has beer in it, so we asked for no beer option, which was shredded cheddar spread on nachos and than left in the oven for a min to melt by the time it came it was cold and hard. Great food, great service and lively atmosphere. The one thing I did not like had nothing to do with the establishment themselves but I feel they and other patrons deserve to know about it. After leaving the bar and heading back to my hotel down the street last Friday I was targeted by police looking for DUI's. I am 99% sure they had scanned the parking lot and noticed my license plate was expired and saw it as an opportunity to try to catch an easy DUI, then made me do a sobriety test and breathalyzer which I passed as I was under half the legal limit for blood alcohol level. This establishment deserves to know that their patrons are being targeted by police at this location because when I pulled out of the parking lot I was immediately met with TWO patrol cars and an officer asking how much I had to drink that night. They spent extra time on my field sobriety test trying to get me to slip but thankfully I have no health issues that would have given them any "reasonable suspicion" that I was intoxicated. All I ask is that the owners of this establishment please contact the local police department and tell them it is not okay to do this as it can affect business and the well being of patrons that enjoy dining there. The wait staff was super friendly, the food was delicious, and the beer options were plentiful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant but be very careful when you leave during late night hours because the police might be nearby trying to meet their quota. read more

Used to be my go to spot for football Sundays. I'm sad to say I will have to find a new spot. They have 20 TVs, and they USED TO show all of the games. Today, they had 5 different games on when we arrived. Then, they changed all of the TVs to one game. When we asked if one of the TVs in a lightly occupied corner could be changed to a different game, we were denied. We've been customers here for 10 years (since it was World of Beer), and have always been able to watch multiple games simultaneously. Very disappointing experience. read more

Tried to justify 3 stars by a delicious ribeye but couldn't do it. Simply could have been better with a few basic tweaks. Cleanliness definitely an issue (1 star). Laminated beer menu had seen too many messy hands without being wiped down. (How many is too many? Should be wiped after every use in my post-pandemic opinion but reasonably at least wipe off the BBQ sauce before you bring it to me.) There was an empty random chair against the wall where we were seated that had food debris on it and it was never wiped down or moved. I asked for a second set of rolled cutlery after opening mine and finding the black napkin had white spots on the inside (think wiping a runny nose spots). No one asked why I needed one or removed the gross one from the table. Could I have done something about each of these problems? Yes I could have, but the review would have been the same and we try to "not" be those people (the ones who complain throughout the service.) We tried to focus on the positive. Which was....ribeye was perfect (green bean side was untouched-underdone) and California bowl was tasty and pretty although I fully intended to order it with shrimp but said tuna! Server offered to change it (a plus in the rating) but I declined since my husband confirmed I had indeed said him tuna! (Bad head to mouth coordination!) I liked the open windows on the big patio for dining on a nice spring afternoon. Gave us a great view of some police action in the back parking lot. Not sure what that was about but since the TV in our section was broken and we couldn't watch the Tigers play, at least we had something interesting to watch. Seven of us went there around 2 p.m. Halloween. Before we even had a chance to open the menus, the waitress asked if we wanted appetizers. That was the first of 3 times she kept asking about appetizers. My food and another order arrived first...at least 6 minutes before the other orders were served. My Salmon was too hot..the mashed potatoes were cold. The wine was terrible, so I sent it back without a replacement. When the bill was brought, they had not deducted the charge for the wine. Decided to try this place out on Father's Day. We used to love world of beer and wondered how the service would be here and I'm pleased to say I think it was better food and atmosphere than when it was world of beer. I expected Maverick's to be more of a casual dining experience as an alternative to TGI Fridays instead it's more of a dive bar. The cleanliness is something to be desired. There was hair in our food and on the silverware rolls. The glasses were cloudy as well. The food was decent even though it came out cold. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BILL... We ate dinner here tonight & are regular customers. When I looked over the bill, I noticed our California Bowls were priced incorrectly. When I asked the waitress about it, she explained the menus had the wrong price. What?! She asked if I wanted to speak with Cesar, the manager, and I said yes. She came back with the corrected bill and said she was able to correct it. I wonder how many people are getting intentionally overcharged. Quick service, great food, amazing beer selection. This place always seems to be packed but we've never had to wait too long for a table. Kids meals are a serious bargain at $5 a pop and most mains are under $20. I've come here probably 20+ times since moving here last year and would strongly recommend anyone looking for American food.
