I'd like to update my review since my first stellar review was for the initial estimate process…read moreonly and I said I would update (but forgot). It's been 5 years and we've had plenty of people up in our attic since Rodent Masters completed our job and any time someone goes up there, I beg them to check and double check to ensure there are no rodent droppings. During this time, we have not heard a peep in the attic which is a complete 180 from what we were hearing before - it always sounded like the rats were having a party up there in the middle of the night. The process took about a month from start to finnish because the first thing they do is cover and patch all holes or entrances up so that nothing can get in (or out) and not just outside of the house but inside the attic and inside every single area from within the house. It's a LOT of work but they did it very well. Then, they came back and, in our case, because things were so bad, they sucked out all of the insulation and then reinsulated the entire attic with much higher quality material than what had been removed. Then they came back on final time to ensure there was no activity. So, I have no reason not to continue recommending Rodent Masters and I have for the last 5 years. I do think I will contact them soon though just to have someone do a walk around to ensure there are no new holes that have developed since they were last here. Highly recommend and I'm glad to see that the reviews continue to be outstanding since the one I gave 5 years ago!

When I inspected it closer I saw these grotesque little things moving around inside the hole. I thought immediately, termites! Even though I had never seen a termite before, and then after verifying it online, I immediately began to stress out regarding the cost. Termike Pest Control had very favorable reviews on Yelp. They responded to my inquiry pretty quickly, so I scheduled an appointment for an inspection. The owner of the company, Mike, came out to do the inspection... the same day I called! He immediately identified that we had subterranean termites. He worked with my budget, was very pleasant, and assured me that I could use a payment plan to pay off my amount. I was sold. The process was very simple, he sent me the contract, he even amended it to show a few things that I wanted in writing. No questions asked. We scheduled crew to come out about a week and a half after the contract was signed. They sent an incredible technician, Max. He was knowledgeable, extremely pleasant, extremely honest, answered every single question that my wife and I had, and went above and beyond! He assured us of the effectiveness of the process, and similarly did everything to relax our nerves with these disgusting little creatures. We were extremely, extremely pleased to have him as our technician! I highly recommend this company!

Today, after I posted my original review, they called me from a number that is not associated with their business online and is marked as spam, so I didn't pick up the first time. I did pick up the second time. I asked them to respond to my emails instead of calling so there would be a written record. They claimed they never received any emails from me, until I sent them screenshots of the emails I previously sent. All screenshots of emails and calls are included below. Regarding the service: When Termike previously worked on our home, they did excellent rodent proofing and were very thorough and tidy. This most recent visit was the opposite. The new technician spray-foamed into our mesh crawlspace vent rather than patching with hardware cloth (as Termike had done in the past). The undersink work was sloppy and left gaps and sharp edges. The tech damaged our plumbing and left us with a leak. We ultimately hired folks to fix the plumbing and to redo everything, at additional cost. During the visit, the technician repeatedly argued with me about the work and insisted I was mistaken about Termike's previous methods. When I continued asking questions, he became increasingly dismissive. This arose because I asked why he would spray foam a hole in a mesh vent rather than patch it with mesh, like they did before. My husband had to ask him to leave because the discussion was going nowhere and his work was not satisfactory, not to mention the broken plumbing. Termike has repeatedly invoiced me for $400 while not responding to any of my emails until after I posted this review. The company's response here claims I used "derogatory language" and "threatened negative reviews," which is not true. I have provided screenshots of all communication and there is no such threat or language in any of them. I posted this review only after being ignored for a month. I post negative reviews about companies when it is appropriate. I also post positive reviews. I try to be honest and accurate. It is disappointing that a company we previously had a good experience with handled this situation in this way.

I spent a comprehensive amount of time perusing all of the different options in Los Angeles -- there are a lot of options -- and finally decided upon Rodent Professor based upon proximity and reviews. I wanted an estimate not only on rodent prevention but also disinfecting the basement and vacuuming up the existing rodent droppings. Since this is the first time I have used such a service, I did not know what sort of cost was involved and was surprised to see online estimates ranging into the thousands of dollars, so I prepared myself for the assumed cost. Nate from Rodent Professor came out promptly at the appointed time and inspected the entire house -- basement, attic, inside the house itself -- and pointed out several potential points of entry into the basement and attic. Later in the day, I received an estimate via email that was in the expected cost range but at the lower end. I decided to proceed with the work. Nate and crew showed up promptly on time and were very efficient in screening all of the openings in the house, in addition to disinfecting the basement and vacuuming. Since their service, I've heard nothing and seen nothing in terms of rodent activity. The technician came and left a trap which as far as I can tell has been very infective. Given that I called to schedule an inspection. The time I was give my the coordinator was not conveyed to the technician as I waited 1/2 a day for him to contact me. It took 5 calls to the company to get a callback over a VOIP connection that was barely intelligible. The coordinator was able to get me in touch with the technician whose window for my appointment was 12 hours (as opposed to the 4 hour window I was given. While the scheduled services work well... communication (at last as of late) is sorely lacking and difficult. I would proceed with caution and am considering taking my business elsewhere as a result of this interaction. ADDENDUM: within an hour of placing this, the technician, Leon arrived. He provided a careful review of the situation and prepared a very reasonable plan to handle the issue. Customer service also called and apologized and acknowledged the error. It was good to see that the company was very responsive given what happened. They did right by me and I will continue my business with them.
