I'm changing my review from a 4 to a 2. Why? Because of the quality of their clothes, the staff (been a lot more miss than hit), prices. Quality - when I say quality I mean how does it hold up while wearing or washing, sizing. The store is really hit or miss for me when it comes to sizes. I can be a small on up to a large. This goes for the same types of clothes (tees & jeans). Some shirts "grow" while wearing, shrink in the wash (up & out). Jeans I'm anywhere from an 8 to a 12. Their jeans an 8, or so I thought. I bought 2 pairs in an 8 online during the Shelter In Place because I couldn't try on in store so ordered online. They're the exact same cut and color of what I already have a pair of. One pair I couldn't get over my butt. The other I wasn't able to button. I took them back. You have to try everything on! Staff - sometime they're super friendly, other times you can't find someone when you need them or they're too busy chatting to take notice and when you do need help (dressing room or rung up) they act like you're bothering them or you keep being asked can I help you with something to the point that you feel like you're being stalked. Prices - if you happen to catch a sale and have coupons the prices aren't bad. If not then a little more on the pricier side. read more

I went to use a 50% off coupon, thinking it was on one item. The cashier looked at me in disbelief as I handed her the coupon with one shirt. She explained that the coupon would apply to my entire purchase. So, I explored the store a bit more. They have leather jackets, flannel shirts, sweaters, accessories, shoes, skirts and jeans. More impressively, they carry sizes ranging from 2-24. With a broad range of styles from casual to corporate, I believe almost anyone can find something to fit their style. I located a pair of tall leather boots for $39 and a rhinestone belt for $15 (prices both before the coupon was applied). My daughter found a couple of shirts and a sweater that she really liked. The sales associates were all very friendly & helpful. There was a leather vest that we both liked but they were out of stock. She explained that we could have anything shipped to the store for free. They seem to routinely carry some kind of promotion, right now it is buy one - get one 50% off. With a loyalty points program, your purchases are tracked to earn redeemable $10 certificates. I come here with my sister all the time! I found out about the brand through Instagram and never leave empty handed! I'm plus sized and it's so nice that I have options here!! Maurices in Brentwood is a great place to shop! The Stylist VENA is absolutely wonderful! She is very knowledgeable about fashion and provides customers with a personalized boutique shopping experience, the only thing missing is a glass of champagne! VENA always greets you with a smile and makes you feel like she expected you to come in and provides a pleasurable shopping experience, every time! During the pandemic my attire became very mundane, and my weight gain made me reluctant to wear a lot of styles, but since I encountered VENA at Maurices, she has helped me to find the perfect clothing to fit many occasions; both business and personal. Her fashion advice, kind encouragement and complimentary feedback has boosted my confidence in wearing more trendy and stylish attire again. Her bright smile and personalized excellent customer service keeps me coming back to Maurice's to shop. I tell my family and friends about Maurices and I bring them there, so they can also experience the awesome shopping experience with VENA. I must mention that the store does have other friendly associates who greet well, smile a bit, but it is no comparison to VENA's outgoing and proactivity to ensure you have a great experience in the store. I LOVE the look of this store from the bright turquoise front doors to the elegant dressing rooms in the back. The store is always clean and the staff seem very friendly and helpful. If you're petite, this store has tons of cute options for you at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, if you are a big girl, such as myself, there are a lot fewer options and the clothes they do have usually run for the shorter big girls, I'm 5'9. I used to come in here and look pretty often and every once in awhile I would find something, but not a lot so I hadn't been in this store in over a year. If they stocked bigger sizes I would make this one of my regular stores. read more

Karen is amazing!!!!! Super sweet and helpful, thank you so much great customer service and even helped style some outfits. Unfortunately the manager was having "back of the house talk" in front of us and being noticeable rude to the other employees. On our way out we thanked Karen for her excellent service and we both noticed the manager give us a dirty look. The merchandise is amazing....but the customer service is a NIGHTMARE!! Even after you contact the BBB you will be dismissed and your order/s will sit somewhere "ready to ship" but not shipping for days and days and days. Don't order unless you want your fashions to be an entire season late by the time you even get them (with your funds held hostage because you placed an order and so the money is SPENT whether they charge your card or not.....but they will talk to you like an idiot saying they are not holding your merchandise and your funds hostage because they won't charge until shipment occurs.....but you can't cancel while you wait and wait and wait....whatever). This store has a terrific location in the Streets of Brentwood, situated directly across from the entrance of the movie theater. The interior of the store is bright and cheerful. There is alot of bling in the decor and the fitting rooms / waiting area are appointed with adorable furniture. Plus sizes are on one side of the store and misses/juniors are on the other side. The variety for both categories is pretty expansive. Like most plus size retailers, the prices are a little high. The quality of the clothing is hit or miss. I've had some sweaters that snagged very easily, but I also have some sweaters that I've had for a couple of years that still look great. The service in this store is also hit and miss. Most of the time it's a hit - associates are genuinely sweet and helpful. I've never had a problem with returns or exchanges and if I need something in a different size, they're usually able to find it for me. They're knowledgeable about their inventory. I did have to take stars off because of what I consider a serious faux pas when it comes to cleanliness. The last time I was there, while my daughter was trying on jeans, one of the employees emerged from a fitting room and asked another employee to help her zip up the back of a jumpsuit she was trying on. It turns out she was not trying it on, rather she seemed to be "borrowing" it. She kept the outfit on the entire time that we were there and was even wearing it (security tag and all) while she was ringing up customers. Later in my visit - I found out that the associate in question was actually a manager. Admittedly, I don't know if she ended up buying it or putting it back on the shelf, but the perception of the situation was not a good one and should be considered. read more

I was attending a wedding on July 11. Unfortunately, my dress couldn't withstand the drive from Hollister to Brentwood, and was FULL of wrinkles. I stopped in at Maurice's to see if I could find something new. The store clerk, Jocelyn, asked if I needed help and I explained my dilemma to her. She asked if I'd be comfortable waiting in a dressing room and she would steam my dress for me in the back. I couldn't believe it! She totally saved the day and I can't thank her enough. People like Jocelyn are what helps me keep faith in the kindness of Humanity. She was a complete sweetheart. I ended up purchasing some glasses and my niece purchased some boots. On top of everything, she gave us a $5 coupon to both of our purchases! I hope her manager will see this review. Although, I am sure she knows what a great employee Jocelyn is. The store has really cute clothes at good prices as well. Thank god I was on a time crunch because I could've easily spent all my rent money there! read more

This a very cute well organized store. Lots of trendy modern fashions for plus size women which made it very impressive to me. The only clincher was the price of the clothes $94 for a pair of fashionable jeans was a bit excessive to me but again they were really cute but not worth $94 dollars at all. If they wee going to talk to me and perhaps message my thighs as I walked perhaps but NO not happening. The clearance rack was impressive as well unfortunately they didn't really have much that I was looking for. Everything I wanted was regular price. I did walk away with some work out clothes at a pretty decent price. And I will come back but only to look at the clearance rack. read more

Maurices clothing... is a joke. If you like your clothes to fall apart withing a few times of wearing them then buy here. I purchased 5 items total. Stupid me got the store card thinking it would be great to shop again at... Out of the 5 items 3 of them have fallen apart. All items worn 1 time a week or every 2 weeks. (which isn't much!) 3/4 sleeve black blazer the thread has come undone. Jeans- the inner thigh has holes. I have a few jeans from other brands that have last well in this area. I AM POLISHED Dress Slacks, it has elastics in it and they have broken up in the seam on the bum so people walking behind can see the loos elastics and in the seams on the inner legs it's pulling and has holes. The other 2 items: 1 is barely worn, I just don't love it. and the other, I do like, but I haven't tailored it yet and it sits in the bag they give you when you have purchased the clothes. read more

I went to this store with my aunt visiting from Ukraine. She has a thick accent but is easy to understand. She is very polite and was thankful to the woman "helping" us (connie). Although she was very helpful at first, I was shocked at how rude they were to her. She recently had a baby and i could hear the workers telling eachother that we need to "shut that baby up". Babies cry. That's a fact of life but it was not excessive what so ever. Obviously she is foreign and doesn't understand all of our customs. They looked at eachother and laughed every time she spoke. When they asked for her email, and she paused, i heard the younger girl say "does she not know her f*cking email?". It made her very upset after we left. we will not return. i'm appalled at the behavior. read more

Love their clothing...people in our store are outstanding. My issue is with a gift card purchase on line...the order was canceled because the website would not accept my cc. After the order was canceled I pursued getting the refund back on my gift card. Wow! What a mess! Its been since January 14th and I still have not seen my refund. Every person I have spoken with has been apologetic but still no results. So not only did I loose out on some clearance items, a $10 promotional for buying the gift card...I am out my $50 on the gift card which was a present for my daughter for Christmas! So upset that I've been lied to and given the run around. The people working at corporate do not have a clue on how to resolve a very simple issue.
