Luckily, we are blessed to have Boards 'N More to visit for all our needs. The shop itself is located downtown Brentwood so you may have a little walk after finding parking. What you'll be met with when you enter is an avalanche of inventory. There's so much to look at and browse that it's best to just ask the nice lady behind the counter what you're looking for. There's apparel, scooters, skateboards, accessories, shoes, stickers, and so so so much more. Luckily, I came prepared with exactly what I had in mind to buy and was able to secure the goods at a decent price. The service here is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. So I recently jumped on my longboard, (been10+ yrs). I was inspred by a neighbors kid to go ride during a Fall Block party. We rode for 2hrs, and we/I had a blast and I was sucked back in.... My deck needed some love tho ! I walked in and was met by Amethyst, and a cheerful hello ! After a breif rundown of my experiance, and a few solid questions, I instantly figured out I had know idea what I was talking about or needing. Amethyst really went over and beyond, in both her time during a X-Mass rush, and comparisions in helping me get my board straight. Sugested the correct bearing and wheel combo to get the ride I was looking for. Amazing ! the board cruises like its on glass, what a differance. SO... as I was waiting and finishing up "my" bussiness I got to thinking about the death trap deck my neighbors kids was rolling, and how much fun she had on my wifes long board, the X-Mass spirt grabbed me, and Amethyst directed me to a great mid-line entry board that we setup on the spot with its own custom wheels! Ya know, I will always pay a bit bit more for a truley personal experiance, but I wasnt even charged for the install of new wheels or bearings... on either board.!..!.. ya go find that on the internet What a great shop, experiance... My son recently decided he wanted to learn to skateboard, and has been using a 3rd hand board for the last few weeks to teach himself to ride. My wife and I decided to get him his own board for Christmas and wanted to find a local shop to get it. Enter Boards 'N More. On my wife's and my first visit to the store, we were in awe of the selection in such a small location, as well as the friendliness of the owner. After talking with her we decided to get my son a gift certificate for a board, and have him pick out the pieces and assemble it. We made an appointment for the Friday night before Christmas, a very kind gesture on her part, so we could all be there when he created his personal board, and she offered to stay open later to give us time and not be rushed. The owner was extremely patient and helpful, explaining to my son the whole process, what each component was for, and what to look for when choosing his components. And after picking out each piece, she helped him assemble his masterpiece. He is so happy with his board, his selections of graphics and stickers, and how well it rides. Was a loyal customer. Went in and couldn't find a board my son and I saw a week or two prior. They were helpful but I sensed the owner just wanted me to buy something. I asked while pointing at a section of boards what are these meaning what type of board, trick etc. The owner looked at me with an irritated look and said they were skateboards. I replied I hope your kidding but her expression didn't change. She was obviously being rude so I just left abruptly. LOVE this shop!! Our son kept asking to visit a skate shop, so on the way back from a trip we randomly found this shop (thank you, Yelp!). They were AWESOME. Great boards, lots of trucks and wheels, buttloads of cool stickers, cozy scarves and lots of cute dresses, tees, flip flops and swimsuits. Most importantly, Amethyst was so sweet and helpful! Our grandson was interested in looking at skateboards, and since this was the nearest shop. The first thing that you notice upon entering the store is how great their stock is. The have just about any kind of board or accessory that you could want. I also can't say enough about the staff there; they were wonderful! Came in here to buy a skateboard for myself! First skateboard purchased as an adult and Genevieve made the process and experience super easy! I was pretty nervous coming in since I haven't skated in forever. Genevieve made me feel comfortable and I liked that she was knowledgable on the skate products and how to put a board together! I love these small boutique.. they spend time the time and you get the the warm and fuzzy feeling; they also made sure you know what you're buying. Case in point, I came in here yesterday wanted to buy a nice skateboard for my son. I didn't want any of those cheap $20.00 plastic one so I thought I give this place a try. I walked into this place without knowing anything about skateboard but she navigate and took the time to explain the different types of boards, wheels, style etc. She even showed me how to swap out the trick wheel with the cruising wheels. When all said and done, my board cost me $180 but this was with a custom Star Wars grip lining, spare set of wheels, and a whole bunch of other fancy stuff. I came in to get some scooter stuff and she helped me out so much and was patient with me but after I was done I was looking at stickers and she's helping a mom and her son and she was really putting in effort and getting into detail about what would be good for the son and it reminded me of when I came in with my mom when I was little. As I was leaving we were talking about school and about how I'm taking my drivers test next week and she had a mom moment and we saying to stay safe and don't race which sounds boring but I really appreciated it and loved the advice and made me feel happy to hear a stranger looking out for me but in the end I'm definitely coming back. read more

Customer Service A+ on this particular day. Took my daughter in about 15 mins before the store was closing to purchase some new trucks for her skateboard. I know nothing about building a skateboard. I buy it, it's used , gets old, i buy a new one. But my daughter wants my old board, and she wants new trucks and wheels. Store was about 12 -15 customers with only 2 employees. And these two, were absolute pros. Xavier and Chloe. A dynamic duo indeed. Not only were they personable, but also very accommodating. They showed no signs of pressure with helping customers. Easily handled fitting rooms, grabbing shoes from the back and ringing customers up. Super fast, and friendly. Give these two a raise!!!! Once they helped everyone else, Chloe and Xavier personally took the time to help my daughter build her board and Chloe explained what parts of the board did what. read more

Terrible customer service! My 9 year old son has been saving his money for a scooter. He was so excited!!! We went there after the farmers market on Sat. We were greeted by telling us that we needed to put all of our bags and drinks on the board bench in front ... I was ok with that. My son wanted to see the scooters .. the lady in the shop showed us a few and then started to give a little attitude ... he wasn't allowed to stand on them, he couldn't touch them etc. Our son started talking to a young girl in the store who was very helpful and my son got super happy again!! This lady even got upset at The young lady even though our son could relate to her. We left to eat and talked to our son to set expectations on price etc. we went back into the store and told her we are back and ready to buy one. He narrowed it down to a few that he wanted to buy but they were in a line on the floor.. his dad grabbed one from the floor (not the wall) and she got very upset and began to be very inpatient ... and it just sucked the excitement right out of our son... spending $200 for a 9 year old is a lot of money that he saved himself ... he should of felt like he was paying customer instead of an annoying kid :( ... I wish the young girl was able to help him more, she was friendly and got excited talking to him about the different types of scooters! We left and are headed to a shop in Berkeley to buy a Scooter. I bought my son a pair of Reef sandals. He wore them twice and the material between the toe came apart. I went in to see about an exchange, as this seems like a manufacture issue. The girl said not sure what could be done. I could send to the manufacture to fix. But she was not the manager. I gave her my number and they never called back. These are not cheap and this place charges full mark up! They should take care of their customers! They should have exchanged the shoes and sent back the defective ones. I used to shop here a lot for the selection and convenience. Very poor customer service. read more

Yesterday, while wandering around the farmers market, I stopped by this cute little shop on the corner of 1st and Oak. I was taken in by the Sale rack on the outside of the place. I was looking for a swimsuit cover up and possibly a little sundress for an upcoming Bachelorette Vegas trip I have planned. The young lady that helped me was very sweet. I usually don't like to be bothered when shopping but she was very helpful. I picked a few cover ups and dresses to try on. While trying stuff on in the dressing room, she brought me more cute dresses to try on. I actually loved everything she picked. I Bought a Skateboard from Boards n more and within 30 min of skateboarding on Flatground, no handrailsno stairs, just Flatground the Board cracked at the Nose.. This board was faulty and they basically Said its my Fault and Gave Me a Big Middle Finger to my Face Saying that i Need to Grow up and face the facts.
