There was an immediate bum rush to the front, and somehow two separate lines were allowed to form with no explanation or enforcement. Security did nothing to control the crowd or restore order. People were openly cutting the line, and individuals who had already purchased shoes were allowed to get back in line and buy multiple pairs. During this chaos, I personally witnessed someone get robbed of the newly released shoes they had just purchased. The environment felt extremely unsafe. Several people appeared to be carrying weapons, which made it intimidating and dangerous to speak up when others were cutting the line. A shoe release should never put customers at risk or create a situation where theft can happen right in front of staff and security. This event was completely unorganized and poorly managed. If this business plans to host high-demand releases, they need clear rules, proper crowd control, and active security. I will not be attending another release like this unless major changes are made.

It was about 5 people talking away at the register amongst themselves, nobody even looked up at us as we walked through. No hello, we're closing soon can we help you find anything, nothing! So as we approached the back where the shoe section is I see 2 guys talking. A young lady came out the back and I asked her if they had a specific shoe which they hadn't. Then I asked her if their shoes had a lifetime return like I just read online. You would have thought I went from English to a foreign language. Her reply was Oh, I don't know nothing about that. I said hmmmm, either Google has false advertising or you're out the loop. I pulled up Google search, and showed her. She walks up to the guys that were talking and asks 1 of them. He then explains the 60 day return policy of unworn shoes. I told him how I just saw on Google while searching composite shoes right under it read Work World lifetime returns. He said, Oh I think that's really old. At that point, I was outdone and wanted no parts of a store that lacks customer service, product knowledge or just plain good/common sense. They have entirely too many employees standing like mannequins that know absolutely nothing, and talk amongst themselves too much and not to customers. I added a photo I just Google of the boot, and below you can see clear as day see "Lifetime Returns" which appears to be FALSE ADVERTISING!!

She asked what type of shoe I was looking for. I told her what I wanted and in what color. She brought out several pairs of shoes based on my scan and wants. She was super knowledgeable, polite, and professional. She wouldn't let me do anything. She told me to put my foot up on the footrest and she'd do the rest. She removed my custom orthotics from my shoes and put them in every pair of shoes I tried on. It felt like the old school days of shoe shopping. She was patient with me and I never once felt rushed. Regan, you're a superstar and you went above and beyond and I want you to know it's appreciated. I also had an experience at Fleet Feet with Alex. He's a superstar as well. He and Regan are top-notch. I met the owner earlier today. I wanted to tell him in person how much I appreciated Regan and Alex. First impressions are everything and Regan gave the best first impression a business could hope for. Fleet Feet in Brentwood gained a loyal customer thanks to Regan and Alex. I highly recommend Fleet Feet if you're looking for a pair of shoes for work. You won't be disappointed...especially if you get assisted by Regan or Alex.

I was greeted, which I appreciated, but unfortunately the experience went downhill from there. I asked about a couple of specific shoes I was interested in, and they didn't have any in stock or even alternative color options. I tried asking about another style, and they offered me a much larger size to try--even though I had already given my correct size, which didn't make much sense. The staff didn't seem very engaged or knowledgeable about the products. Customer service felt lacking, and overall it didn't seem like there was much effort to help. This experience reminded me why I usually go elsewhere--other stores tend to be more knowledgeable and attentive. I'd recommend saving your time and checking out Road Runner Sports in Walnut Creek or Campbell (if you are ever in the area) who have better product knowledge and customer service.
