dd's Discounts has been around for a while now, I've seen it from Highway 4 and on our trips to Winco, and have been curious about what's in there. Well, I found out . . . The Hunny and I went in, and were quite underwhelmed. Yelp has it categorized in "Women's Clothing", and women's clothing does take up nearly half the floor space. As a guy, you shouldn't ask me about the fairer sex's clothing for sale, heh heh; I prefer she wear t-shirt and shorts anyway. I *can* comment about the rest: * Men's clothing has a large selection. But it's quite terrible. It looks like something that a woman picked out, thinking that THIS is what her man should wear. Pleeeeease. Small selection of shoes. * Kid's clothing is pretty good. Same with juniors, which our daughter is growing into. Not skanky, and as a parent, I appreciate that. Thrift Town in San Francisco had a better selection, but there's no more Thrift Town in San Francisco, sniff. * Housewares - well, let's say that it's not Bed Bath & Beyond, or even Walmart. Prices overall are very good. I won't be back. The Hunny may be, but mostly to buy our kid some clothes. Mostly, it's more worth it to make the drive to San Leandro to Thrift Town. Have to say I've been shopping at DDs for awhile but today's experience was horrible the lack of customer service and professionalism the cashier who apparently was the manager who refused to give her name no name badge is screaming to make sure we do certain things before coming to her as she's been working to many hours , starts screaming at me to make sure I don't leave items on the side take the hangers off the clothes etc... I found myself obligated to post this online as I took an image of her to make sure it doesn't happen to you.. her coworkers thought it was funny not to give her name up and continued to laugh since apparently now you bag your own things and have to pick up you receipt.. what a shame read more

Terrible place to work at all around and the store manager Marry Robinson was always rude to all of us and never bothered to give me more hours that i requested, take away pay for two days of work was about 270 something dollars because i was only working 10 hours total. Once i asked to be given more hours they stopped scheduling me for those two days so i wasn't getting paid whatsoever ever for the next couple weeks till i just said whatever and quit. DD'S has FINALLY came to Pittsburg and what a great addition! Located on Park Blvd near the Big O tires and Winco plaza is a perfect location for a discounted store like this! Grand opening was June 25th 2015 and since then the crowd as slowly approached. I came during the weekend and the layout of the store is beautiful! Same items that other DD'S sale but it's just a nicer organized store. All the staff was very friendly. At the time, I went in they only had two cashiers working (I guess because the store is fairly new they must still be hiring more workers). CLOTHES: They sale all different items of clothing: Jackets, jeans, shirts, shorts, tank-tops. You name it...they sale it! PRICES: Everything is at a great reasonable price! They sale tons of clothes for people of all different sizes (Infants, children, junior, plus sizes) and prices range from $3.99-$19.99. You can't beat that!! They also sale scrubs that range from $3.99-5.99! NOT LOOKING FOR CLOTHES: Besides clothing they sale kitchenware and items for your car, purses and shoes! How can you NOT love this place! I love shopping at a DD's! I always feel like I'm getting a good deal on great clothing and items! I think this is truly a great addition to Pittsburg and once the word gets out about this store and school starts this place will be PACKED! So I must enjoy it now before it gets busy! My family likes coming to DD's to find good deals. Me and my son came to this DD's location and bought some yard equipment like a water hose and a water sprayer for the backyard. We also got 3 huge flower pots at a low price. While standing in line I seen a folding stool for $12.99 and it had 2 attached together. I looked for the other price tag but only seen one but again the stools were attached together with original zip ties. I thought this is a good deal so I picked it up and put it in my cart. When paying for my items the lady scanned the item and said $12.99 is for one stool not for the both of them. I was like ok but the item is on your sales floor attached together with one price tag on it. Can you honor the price? She said NO! Me and my son were in shock because customer satisfaction wasn't even her main focus. I asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the manager. Her name was Andrea. I told Andrea that since your the manager you should understand and sell me the item at $12.99 for two. Andrea again said NO it was a mistake. I said, "Ok, well since your the manager and I'm a customer you can fix the mistake, don't you want a happy customer? She said No she can't do that! I told Andrea if she can override the system put notes and sell me the item? She again told me No. I told her I'm going to YELP my experience here because that's not right. Andrea then said, "Do you want them or not!" I said with that attitude I don't want them and I'm going to give this location and your customer service a negative review. She obviously didn't care about me as a customer. My son who is 12 years old even said, "Dad she was super mean!" Andreas customer service skills needs some major improvement!!! I will relay my experience with family and friends to not get help from Andrea. Today while being checked out I had Lucie the area supervisor be very rude and unprofessional to me. She 1st was rude about taking off the last 3 "black"hangers off my clothes when she had already removed 15 hangers. I removed them then she was rude and said I need to go get another price for some pants that the tag fell off of. I asked her to look up the sku number by description. she told me they stopped 3 months ago looking up in the system. so I had my mother in law get another pair pants to speed up the process. I then let her know that I used to work for "that" dds 9 years ago and I've noticed how much customer service and the store has changed. she then was snapping and told me that was 10 years ago and that she been there for 5 years. and that it's the customers fault for why the store looks horrible; and that the employees should be able to clock in and out and that's it. I told her that if it wasn't for the customers what job would she have? She then began to do unprofessional gestures at me and towards my back jumping up and down and doing teasing gestures as I told her she shouldn't be disrespectful and combative with customers. This is my go to store for my kitchen supplies and house decor they have a pretty good selection especially when they have new arrival. You can get dish sets, rugs, clothes, electronics, food Everything lol... This one here in Pittsburgh is waaaaayyyy better than the one in Oakland the line isn't ever really too long. You can't take the cart out the store. Thats the only down part to me because when I come and I rake it up and have to go back and forth getting my stuff that part gets a little annoying but hey in life everything is a give and take so it's all good! read more

Just came is for a phone charger and I found my self in line with people with their shopping carts full in front of me and only 1 person at the cash register. I ended walking out with no charger. I went for the first time and I loved it!! I was able to purchase a whole new wardrobe for my mother for less then $200 carrying two full bags of clothes that were coming out the top. I got three blouses myself spending $10. I was told if it doesn't sell at Ross it arrives at dd's. I can see it being a hit or miss store but that's ok, I'll keep coming. There are two Chinese lady's by the fitting room that are so rude. My sister had to use the restroom and was told only employees could use. I had the worst experience at this store! I was with my two toddlers in the restroom and the so called manager was in there as well. My kids were doing what all kids do they were being loud and the manager was keep turning and mugging us. So I've come into this store multiple times, usually I have good service and haven't had any problems but when I went in on Saturday it was a whole different story.. I was ready to check out but the line was insanely backed up so I looked around a little longer until it got shorter. When I finally got in line I found out what the problem was. It wasn't the amount of people, it was the fact that the 3 employees at the register were working like snails! Like seriously, my grandpa moves faster then they did. I had the "pleasure" of being rung up by Carolyn. Not only is she slow when ringing up my 3 items she is even quicker to call the next customer up before your receipt has even finished printing and I was able to grab the items off the counter. Great store and location. Staff is very friendly and manager (Carlos) is great at taking care of his customers. During the busy hours the line can get long and customers can just be plain rude to their cashier. This is the best store ever!!! iI have been shopping at this store for almost 2 years now... I usually go at night to unwind after work & do this at least 3x's a week...
