My kids hired Chef Tim to prepare a fantastic dinner for my 70th year on earth. Seared ahi, mochi rice crab cake, mini laulau were progressive appetizers that eased the flow of wine and conversation into just the right pace. A cold soup made from fresh green herbs served as a palate cleanser for the entree: a luscious chunk of opah (moon fish) drizzled with a white sauce along with jasmine rice and zucchini cubes. The fish melted like buttah in your mouth. Just when you thought there was no room for more, Chef Tim presented dessert. It was so good my son went back for seconds. Hiram, Jordan, BRAVO!…read more My family (8 of us, with all very different tastes) have unanimously agreed that Hiram created for us one of the greatest meals each of us have ever eaten. The food however was not the only high point - Honu Cuisine is a package. It's Hiram's incredible ability to source the best and freshest ingredients, use his customer's menu choices to perfectly match those ingredients, and create a beautiful, artistic, and incredibly tasty meal. It's also about Hiram's carefully chosen "front of house" assistant. That's right, he comes with a partner. In our case we feel very lucky and honored for that front of house to be Jordan. He is a long-time resident of the island, a fruit and vegetable farmer, and an incredibly knowledgeable foodie and Maui host. Separately Hiram and Jordan would be spectacular, together they are magical. The meal was entertaining, stimulating, and delicious. Hiram brought everything from cookware to serving dishes along with his incredible ingredients, Jordan brought fresh flowers and entertainment. This meal is worth every penny - please make the best decision you'll make while in Maui - have Hiram cook for you! Ryan & Genvieve Schmidt, the Adams and the Brewers, Aloha.

The food and venue were both incredible. Their team kept us on track throughout the night and acted as pseudo- day of planners. The team was incredibly responsive and patient with us as we made decisions about food, timing, and other vendors. They provided advice and answered all questions we had to help us create the perfect experience for us for our intimate wedding. We appreciated that everything could be handled in house by the HeartBeet/Pu'uwai team. They handled the bartending, cake cutting, servers, cleanup, and joined in some of the dancing! Plus, the food was INCREDIBLE. We had two kids, under 10, who can be picky, but they ate everything on offer! A true testament to delicious options that were curated for our event. We opted for family style, for our small group, and an extra protein because we couldn't decide on just one! The family style serving option helped us all feel at home, we loved it. Pu'uwai Gardens held a beautiful backdrop for the evening, including the covered area for eating and dancing, that included cute lighting, and the build in covered bar- stunning. The land and tress were also beautiful, as was the view of the water. The HeartBeet/Pu'uwai team overdelivered for our day and we are so grateful to have chosen them to host our reception.

I make homemade meals, so I know what is freshly made, not store bought. Val started with a tablecloth and flowers. Lunch was fresh pineapple fried rice with tofu, fresh broccoli with sesame seeds and almonds and a little butter, local zucchini boats filled with seitan and mozzarella cheese on top, and roasted sweet potatoes. Hawaiian corn on the cob (non-GMO, so smaller and sweeter -- I devoured it!) was served. Dessert was local fresh fruit consisting of apple banana slices, strawberry papaya, & kumquats, mixed with grapes and strawberries and homamade banana bread. This was served with homemade sorbet and local macadamia nut ice cream. Absolutely delicious! Lunch was served quickly (15 minutes early) and the kitchen was clean when she left.
