We booked an 11am excursion - weather was perfect with a slight breeze which made the paddling a bit interesting. Our awesome guide Ryan was perfect for my anxiety ridden Husband. It was just us and another couple. Ryan's instructions and laid back attitude calmed everyone - the other person was first timer and she did well with her husband. We were lucky to be able to spot some turtles and two endangered monk seals frolicking in the water. Learned a bit about the surrounding islands and the shark pit! My husband at the bend of the day felt accomplished and actually enjoyed himself. Ryan is from San Diego and both couples from CA as well. We were from Northern and the other from Southern. CA represent! Highly recommend Ryan. The beach is also perfect for snorkeling and just chilling out. Went in for a dip and swim. Great day! mahalo! Very reasonably priced as well. read more

Overall, I highly recommend them. I was pleasantly surprised that they offer delivery of the snorkeling gear to your hotel! I wanted to pick the gear up myself considering the pickup location is on my way from OGG airport to my hotel in Kihei. The pickup process was very easy--grab and go! Same for drop off process--drop and go! They provide very timely communication regarding pickup and drop off via email (my preferred way). I rented the snorkeling gear for a whole week, however, I wasn't able to go snorkeling at all due to physical condition. After letting them know the situation, they provided partial refund. Booked a morning-of kayak rental and they were super helpful and prompt. Couldn't have been a simpler way to get in the water, and kayaking around is a great way to see the island and whales. His equipment is obviously used, but we did not encounter any problems with either of the two kayaks we rented as well as the SUP. MOR is very affordable choice for renting the snorkel in Maui. Scott is very flexible in delivering and picking up the gear. All you need to go to website before a day and place the order. Next day before 1 PM he will be delivering gear to your door step. I highly recommend even some one plan to do snorkel for single day because rent is very cheap and it is weekly basis. 25$ per week for each snorkel. Other business are changing hourly 15$ which are sitting next to beaches. read more

We rented 2 paddle boards and 1 double Kayak from Maui Ocean Rentals and couldn't be happier! Prices were the best I found and Scott was awesome! The drop off and pick up was completely handled by Scott, making it beyond easy! We were able to text/call him at any time with questions and he was willing and able to accommodate our request for an extension without any hiccups. We rented two boogie boards from MOR. We went back and forth about renting, worried they wouldn't get used, but I'm happy to report that we used them everyday. I placed the online order in the morning expecting that we'd get them sometime that afternoon. Scott happened to be in the neighborhood and dropped them off about an hour after. Pick up was great too. We had an early morning flight so Scott said we could leave them in our rental condo and he'd pick them up later that morning. MOR had good equipment and super convenient, friendly service. I highly recommend them. read more

My wife and I were at the beach when I saw a guy heading out with his paddle board. He was kind of instructing others so I assumed he was a guide or had stuff to rent. Turns out he was just a local with friends in town, luckily he did refer me to MOR. I contacted Scotty through the website and had 2 very nice ocean kayaks delivered early the next day. I had no idea how easy and convenient renting gear could be... it was delivered and kept on my patio for the 3 days I needed them. It was so nice to be able to launch basically from the backyard of the place we were renting. In addition to providing great quality products, they have great customer service as well. We had rented snorkels for our family for our trip to Kihei. After we placed the order on their website, they contacted us and confirmed the address of the condo we were staying at, and delivered them at our room. Each snorkel kit had goggles, snorkel, flippers, and a bag to carry the kit. They also included a bottle of defogger that worked great, they were perfect for us.They called us the day before we were leaving to setup a pickup time, and showed up right on time and took them from our room. My sister and I took a private stand up paddle board tour with MOR and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Scotty was professional, communicative and provided great customer service. I had paddle boarded before and my sister had never been. He worked well with our different experience levels. She didn't think she would be able to stand up and he coached her thru it and she was up no problem on his great boards and I learned a lot as well. He also brought snorkel equipment and we were treated to a snorkel and we were so fortunate to see turtles! I love that he took pictures of our trip including under water shots. Such a great experience being on the water and seeing the land and ocean from a SUP. A wonderful experience overall, I highly recommend you include this on your must do list for Maui. read more

We did a private kayak tour to see the whales with Scott. Just do yourself a favor and book Scott and don't waste your time with the other guides. He leaves a little earlier than the other guides and it is so worth it. We were out there all by ourselves and got to really take in the beauty and tranquility of being out there with the anticipation of seeing the whales. Scott was very good at predicting (with the help of his daughter LexI who was visiting) where the whales would surface by listening to their songs and reading the "cues" on the surface of water. Scott did all of the searching and of course the other tour guides showed up and it turned into a free for all and they basically surrounded us. A few of the guides who joined up with us were very loud and runied what was a peacful experience. It turned into an episode of Wicked Tuna when they showed up. Despite all of that we got to hear the whales sing and see them swim right underneath our kayaks before surfacing. read more

We did a kayaking/snorkeling tour with Scotty, it was fantastic! As mentioned by someone else, he leaves earlier than the other tours, and he took us to a great location where we were immediately swimming with turtles. We saw a ton of different fish, eels, octopus, and even a family of rays that swam by us! Scotty took a lot of great photos too, to remember it all. We were referred to MOR by our condo management company. I contacted them online because we wanted to rent snorkeling equipment and beach umbrellas. We ended up renting three sets of snorkeling gear and two beach umbrellas for a week, which only cost $20/item. Corrinne was responsive and they offered delivery and p/u service, which was perfect and when we flew home, we left the items on our porch. Because Hurricane Lane hit the week before, I decided to ask Corrine what the status was for Wailea. She updated me via email and was terrific. Scotty was great for our private kayaking and snorkeling tour! Definitely a once in a lifetime experience and so happy to have booked with MOR and Scotty. We saw several green sea turtles up close (while keeping a respectful distance between us and them...gotta respect nature). Scotty was great at helping my husband and I to snorkel for our first time ever, explaining to us what to do step-by-step. He took us out earlier than the other kayaking/snorkel groups and so we really got to see a lot without us or the wildlife being disturbed by too many people being around. He was also very knowledgeable about the area and gave us great recommendations for other places to go and check out before we left. He also took great pictures of us underwater (my husband has them in his email...otherwise I would have posted them!), so we will definitely have these memories forever. Did a week-long snorkeling gear rental - cheap and front door delivery! Also booked a 2.5 hr private kayak and snorkeling tour with Scott, and it was awesome! Scott took me, hubby and my 14 yr old out from Makena Landing to sea turtle feeding grounds. We left early at 7 am to beat the crowds and take advantage of the calm waters. Right off the bat we saw a manta ray! The kayaks were great, easy to maneuver. Scott knows exactly where to anchor to find sea turtles and nice coral reefs. Tons of tropical fish! Loved the experience, and would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a small group, private experience. read more

Scott and Karina (I'm probably spelling that wrong, sorry!) were super awesome. The hubs and I really wanted to get out on the water in a kayak in the later half of the day to do some exploring and catch the sunset. The first day we called they went out to check the ocean conditions (we were staying in Kaanapali and M.O.R. is located in Kihei 45 mins away - so worth the drive!!) and let us know that it was rough out there and they didn't want us to waste a drive and the rental $$ cuz getting out would be sketchy. How cool is that?? These guys care about their customers. Luckily the waters calmed down a few days later and we were able to get out. Scott got us all set up with our kayak, vests, and even a dry bag for our stuff (I think my ziploc baggies amused him lol). He even walked it out to the shore with my hubs so I didn't have to lug it out there... I'm no princess but that made me very happy! He gave us awesome advice on where to go and how to be safe, let us know where the wind would come in and advised we head that direction so we wouldn't get pushed down shore on our way in and then helped us launch. The winds picked up so we came in a little before sunset and sat on the beach to watch the sun go down. Scott must have been worried we got lost out there (we're newbies to kayaking) cuz he met us down on the beach right about sunset time. Then he helped us lug the kayak back in! Seriously, cannot recommend these guys highly enough! We will surely be back out next Maui visit! read more
