I left a few messages and cannot get a return call. Unfortunately, this was not our experience throughout our interaction. The company was responsive, communicated, quick, polite and professional. My husband believes them to be a little rough w, our possessions like our electric recliner and electric beds that didn't work at first w/o significant trouble shooting. The recliner no longer consistently works but I don't fault the company for that because it was moved a lot by no fault of theirs. A few days later when they realized my insurance would not pay them directly they came to me with an excessively high bill of thousands of dollars for 2 hours of work for packing up items and moving items from my bar to my office on the same floor. They broke a glass and a speaker. They should be ashamed of themselves but I'm sure the owner has no scruples or shame and has been taking advantage of people that are in a vulnerable position for years like this. However, Absolut Restoration, a company recommended by our insurance company and a family friend came to the rescue. Absolut Restoration was very professional, nice and real detailed on our inventory sheets. They did an amazing job and we are truly thankful that they helped us during our time of need. Misty one of the owners was very nice and explained everything in detail to us so that there would be no surprises. There was no high pressure tactics and we never felt that we were being taken advantage of which is common after a house fire. We did have an issue that came up during inventory of the contents but that was resolved amicably. Absolut Restoration is a company that has experience and all of their employees work very hard it was a pleasure working with Absolut Restoration and their content team.

For what should have been a multi-day dry out only, WF tore out carpeting throughout the entire house unnecessarily. They also brought in their "sister company," a certain packing out company that started to move the tenant family's belongings to some remote location. Fortunately, the family stopped in and made the movers move their belongings into the garage instead of off-site. I walked directly into their trap. The leak was on a Friday. Plumber repair happened Saturday. I had them stop in on Sunday, ahead of insurance. The real secret to their "success" is in their fine print in their work order. If you do what I did, and hastily sign with them, they will likely outrun what insurance will pay for, and you'll be on the hook for a big bill. I tried to fight, but they have mastered the process of placing a mechanic's lien on a property (11 since November 2022) and securing profits that way if the opportunity arises. Water Fighters is not the only company that uses mechanic's liens. I'm sure liens are necessary at times, but it appears to be a tool that can be utilized as part of a corrupt scheme when possible. Check the Maricopa County Recorders Office website and search for legal efforts by any company by Document Title. Water mitigation has the potential to be particularly pernicious because one wants to move quickly to minimize damage and prevent mold or mildew growth. That's part of the trap I jumped into. Don't let Cesar Lauro Ontiveros Perez, or anyone associated with Water Fighters, near your property. Don't call them and definitely don't sign with them. I imagine most of the reviews on their website, like other elements of their website, are not authentic and are designed to deceive. No water mitigation license is needed to "perform" water mitigation. All one needs is any contractors license. This is in AZ and many other states. Fancy thermal imaging cameras to detect moisture does not mean someone knows how to work within professional standards governing water damage mitigation and restoration, or work with an insurance adjuster. Finally, call a PUBLIC ADJUSTER. Public Adjusters work for you to manage the efforts between your insurance company and any contractors. Yes, they get a percentage of your claim for their efforts but it is worth it to avoid what I went through. I called one for the rebuild and it made for an amazing turnaround from the awful experience with WF. NAPIA is the national association for public adjusters. They know the insurance industry and will probably know your policy better than you do. Your first call can and should be to a public adjuster. You will do much better overall with your claims if you work with a Public Adjuster.

First, the owner never sent me a written quote. They were fast; however, one of the movers whose name was Miles, scared me by yelling to the top of his lungs out of frustration because he couldn't get the bed together because he had all of the screws tightened and anyone who puts together anything would know bit to tighten the screws all the way until those screws are in the correct holes and then you screw them in. I went in the room to give him that tip but was scared the entire time he was in my house due to his behavior. Then when they got done, the paperwork showed that I was being charged an extra hour of travel time when my move was less than 15 minutes apart and I was told that they needed to stop at Walmart to get T-shirts. I made the payment in full along with an additional $60 because I just believe in tipping and always have, besides the other guy was excellent. Great customer service and he was friendly the entire time. Any way, I went through the contract after they had left and noticed that there was nothing in the contract that stated that I would owe a 1 hour transportation fee now was I ever told this verbally. So, a day after the move, I sent the owner a message and he proceeded to go back and forth with me. However the most disturbing message was the one below verbatim: "I'm so sorry you're so broke that you can't pay the movers for a move that they did well for you. Send me your address. I'll bring you cash next week. I would love to meet you." This company is way to green and they need to learn some customer service skills before doing business with the public.
