Was greeted by a rugged cool MacGyver looking guy who delivered a private Motorcycle 101 crash course (pun!) as we walked the lot. He asked about my intended use and presented some hardcore but stylish options. Many styles & specs to choose from. The staff are friendly and aren't all up on you while you browse. The indoor showroom is small, but is well-organized so despite the room being packed, you get to walk around each one and inspect them. Don't Buy from these guys! Go to Winston Salem they're GREAT! I spent over 26K on a New Can-Am Spyder RT-Limited (top of the line) and barely got enough gas to make it to a gas station. It couldn't have been checked out .....and it was suppose to be brand new. There were lights not working, The side covers weren't properly installed & as far as the new bike orientation when I picked it up....well lets just say no one showed me how to even adjust the radio & set channels for 3 weeks.... but hey "Read the Manual" BUT THAT IS THE GOOD NEWS!!!. Their parts department where I spent another thousand or so sold me a helmet that hurt my ears so badly I begged to swap it out. Then they canceled the helmet that I had ordered for my wife to match because (I latter found out) the helmet was being discontinued and was close out and her size was no longer available. So, not only could I not get a matching helmet for my wife....mine hurt so badly I had to go and purchase one somewhere else since they wouldn't make it good. There excuse was they couldn't take back helmets once sold...yet all internet companies give a 7 to 14 day return for fit and customer service.... and I had complained since the very first time I rode the bike home. So, how much do you have to spend to get good customer service....well it is obviously over $27,000.00 dollars. Except I went to the Can-Am dealer in Winston Salem who I didn't even buy the Can-Am from and they have taken care of my every need....long drive YES, but it is nice to be treated with respect. Oh! and when I called Can-Am to share my experience with them.... I get a call the next day from the dealer..... not to make good on the helmet.... or the gas.... or fixing my lighting issues, but to nicely blow me off and tell me they will be "sending me my tag" so " I won't have to return to their dealership since I felt they treated me so badly". Best price, even going so far as to deliver product themselves on their own time to close the sale. Looping in their service guys, found they are mostly all enthusiasts. Almost everyone I've met here uses the products they sell. Shopped for a Polaris product ended up with a Can Am Commander Limited at the best price I could find in three states delivered that evening on a Saturday an hour away. Follow ups asking about service and upgrades after the sale always good. I worked with Brian Buffo in sales and recommend him highly for follow through/follow up both pre and post sale. Just your typical used vehicle salesmen. When I was new to the world of motorcycles they took me for a ride (pun intended) and I ended up paying almost $4,000 grand for a 2005 Yamaha V-Star 650 with approximately 25,000 miles on it. Which has a going rate of anywhere between $2,500 - $3,000 on any Craig's List type forum. The bike had an old battery which I had to replace ($200) and also was leaking fluid from the fork. All of this was apparently not discovered during their standard "enter number here" point inspection. Now that I'm older and wiser I can say with confidence that Craig's List or EBay is a much much much much more financially beneficial way to purchase a used bike. read more

I purchased an overstock 2009 Stelvio about a year ago from MFM. No drama and a great price. Also very helpful in showing me all the features of the bike and dashboard menus. I had an issue with the paint bubbling on the fuel tank (an issue with many Euro bikes 2009 and older due to our gas) and a fork tube seal kept weeping. Matt and Leah could not have been more helpful in getting bot issues resolved and all under warranty. The lowest is one star, otherwise they would have a zero. This is our 2nd time with MFM. Here is what we have experienced..... Whenever we have called for service, there is an amazingly 2 week wait. Winter, rainy season, doesn't matter, they are sooooo booked, they say. Yet there are hardly any bikes in the bay, go figure. The first time around they pissed around for 4 weeks before doing a tune up and some warranty work. We were treated like we should be lucky they got it done in 4 weeks. So bike #2 needs carburetor work. We tried another shop first and had to bring it to these people, so here we go again. It was first looked at as an insurance claim, and right away that was taken off the table so my son called and paid the bill and told them we needed it BY Friday of this week. He was told they would try and rush it for weds....today So we call and nope, no work. It's been sitting in the corner. Matt said they always have to wait with insurance. I said it isn't under a claim and my son paid it already. Oh well we have 2 weeks worth of appointments already and we aren't moving any of them around. They want to attempt to work on this Friday at 5 pm. WTH. He hung up on me. We are moving. The uhual and the TRAILER for the bike have been paid for already. For Friday morning.....we are supposed to leave mid day. This state is terrible for bike shops. They are lazy, and don't want to help you. I mean come on, you don't even work mondays! That's 4 days to make everybody's day......... The work is just okay, the last bike came out needing a few things that they missed, we took it to Kevin powell. Save your money. This is just an okay place. But they do not go above and beyond to make things right even if it's their mistake read more

First gotta say service was trash, I came in trying to buy an atv but we gone get to that in a few but when I first got in the store I had to greet myself to the staff so they could attend me, after that someone took me to one of there crew members to help me choose my atv. The dude was straight buggin and rude, he had asked how much I make in a month I told him real honest idk because I never put no mind to it like that & after that I told him my credit score and figured out how much I make a month and tell me why this man was saying "are you sure your credit is that good" and "you sure you make that much" and I pulled out the facts and showed this hating ass man my credit score and my pay stub. I guess he was mad cause I had a better score then him and made more money then him, it was probably cause I told him I was only 20 lol he look to be in his early/late 20's. But let's continue after we figured out what atv I wanted(Yamaha 450r) we start to fill out the credit check and he took my id and debit card and tell my why this man said I can't apply for the atv because of my lawful status's. I have a daca which means I'm a protected non citizen because I been here more then 15 years and have been in school with no criminal record. After that I knew that man was racist so I just left, I could of easily bought that atv cash and went home with it but I wanted to build my credit even better then it already was. read more

I bought a motorcycle from them in February 2017. I dealt with Jim on the phone who was awesome I live in Swansboro which is the coast and they are located in Mathews by charlotte. I flew down after giving then 900 check. When I get there to pay off the bike with cash and go home the owner was being a dick to me mad about what I paid for the bike saying that he should of raised the price. I informed him that would of been fine but that then someone else would be buying the bike not me now and he continued to make the experience horrible just non stop talking crap to me. Also I had mailed myself my helmet with gps and other things they said I could well the opened it went thought it even though it was clearly labeled to me. Bad experience. Bought a used motorcycle on a credit card and they charged an extra 3%, which is fine since they told us. Went back to pick up the bike to take home and they would not give me the title. First they said it was policy because others have disputed the credit transactions and I would have to wait till Monday for credit card to clear. I wanted to get my tag this Monday. So the guy double checks and actually they hold the title for 10 Yes TEN days! So we cancelled the transaction and will never be back. Note to owner don't accept credit cards and if you do you can't legally hold a title for 10 business days! read more

I needed a key for my SeaDoo quickly as I sold the trailer it was on and needed to put it in a slip before the weekend. I called ahead and service dept said it would be a week and a half before anyone could look at it or I could come in on a Saturday morning as it's first come first serve. Was driving by with the trailer and decided to stop by in person and see if there was anything they could do since I was already there. Service woman was very rude and said there was nothing they could do. Spoke with the general manager and said what she said is what goes.....I was willing to pay much more than normal cost to get this done and they didn't seem to care. I called Lake Norman Powersports and they said bring it in anytime and they will get me right in, it's only a 5 minute procedure!!! We're talking about a Key here people....If you can't help potential customers that are in a bind because you are "too busy" maybe you should rethink your business model. I was warned of their business practices by a friend but being the only SeaDoo dealer in the area I thought I would give them a try. Take your future purchases elsewhere. They don't seem to care about their customers. On a side note, the guys in the Parts Dept were very helpful at finding the correct key....it just wouldn't do me any good to buy it if they couldn't program it. read more

Absolute rip off on first service. Called for a quote and they quoted $304.50 for labor and with oils and parts a total of $400.00. Scheduled the appointment and dropped off my machine. Turn around time took one day longer than told which is no big deal but when I picked up my machine the bill was $543.82. They charged a cleaning fee of $43.00 even though I cleaned it before dropping it off. Take out the cleaning fee and how can you be off $100.00 on a oil change and valve adjustment quote? Pretty standard procedure. I have three Can-Am UTV's/ATV and they will never see one cent in service work or parts from me. I would be very couscous when using this dealers service department. If you can't trust what they are quoting how can you trust their service work? read more

I don't know about new sales here, but avoid their parts department. I lost the keys to my ATV, and ordered a new ignition switch from them since they are local, and advertise on a radio station I listen to. Big mistake... All I needed was the key cylinder, and not the entire wiring harness so I removed the 2 screws and pulled the cylinder. The insides were melted out of the package. They refused to refund, saying I must have done something wrong. The cylinder is molded so it will ONLY fit the proper way, so I couldn't have made contact with the electrodes if I had screwed up (not that I ever got the chance to try). To top it off, they charged me $100 for the part, which I was able to order online for $27. Save your money and time. If you need a part, just order it from Pat's Small Engine Plus out of Minnesota. I will never set foot in Matthews fun machine again, and I would suggest the same to you. read more

Matthews Fun Machines outside of Charlotte, NC installed a stator that I bought on eBay. The charge for the install and oil change was about $250 - way more than it should have been. I picked up my bike from Matthews Fun Machines and in the bright sunlight, I didn't initially notice any problem with the indicator lights. So the first thing that happened was I ran out of gas. Apparently they used all the gas I had left in the tank and neither the reserve setting nor the low fuel light worked. Fortunately my wife was behind me in her car with a gas can in the trunk. She stayed with the bike until I came back with gas. I continued on my way but by the time I got home, I was pretty sure my signals weren't working. Come to discover that the bike has no signals, horn, high beam, neutral or stop lights. I brought it back to Matthews Fun Machines who first stripped the phillips head screws on the indicator light cover underneath which the fuses live. Then they blamed the stator, since it was not their part, and refused to take any responsibility for the new problems. However, when they installed the stator, they tested the voltage output from the rectifier to the battery. I confirmed that they did. If it was not correct, they would have called and told me the stator was bad. Eventually, I got the indicator light cover off and once the fuses were replaced, the bike was fine - which means the problem was due to their screw-up. I will never go back and strongly recommend that you find another place to service your bike. read more

I have a 2017 Polaris Sportsman, which I bought from another dealer. I had heard some good things about MFM, and decided to take my four wheeler there for a crank/no start concern. Dropped it off on a Saturday(first come, first serve). Four hours later I was called and told I needed an engine due to an after market air filter another dealer had installed. Told me the engine had low compression, as it's cause to a no start condition. I am an automotive technician and was skeptical of their diagnosis. Called Polaris to see how they could help, they told me to have MFM open a warranty case around June 21. Come to find out it wasn't submitted until July 5. Even though Matt in service told me he was on it right away as I was leaving the service department. A week later I called with concerns of their diagnosis and asked for a quote on two spark plugs since it was already there and taken apart, was told he would call back in a few moments after he verified parts were in stock.... a week later no phone call back, I called again to be told the same thing... its been 6 days, 4 of which they have been open with no phone call back, to find out today they installed them without giving me the quote as I requested. So I decided to pick up my machine and take else where. Called to speak with the GM, Jack, who during my explanation of my call, rudely interrupted me several times, then asked me "are you done talking now?". I am EXTREMELY dissatisfied with the customer service I have received from MFM. To treat a customer with such disrespect is unprofessional. No machine I ever own will go back to MFM for any reason at all. read more
