House was built in 2019 (Rhythm- Chandler). The nails are coming through the drywall and I can see the tape/seams all over. One of the AC units malfunctioned a couple years ago and still doesn't work correctly. This developer/builder packs houses in so tight I can barely fit my trash bin between my wall and the house. The garage space is a joke and so is the quality of their paint job. The only reason we're still in this sardine can is because of the 2.5% interest rate we have. Mattamy does not follow through with promises made to buyers, do band-aid repairs to appease, believe everything is one of the following: 1) aesthetics only, 2) "within industry standards" or 3) "house is settling". In the three months since signing for the home. I have spent this entire time working to get all the items noted at first walkthrough, corrected. Paint appears to have been done by incompetent painters, tile company is terrible, as quality of the work is mediocre at best, plumbers are so bad they had to get replaced, drywall experts are anything but, leaving the home with nothing but tape and/or mud lines that are visible throughout. Left paint stains on tiles, in carpets, on hardware, etc. paint used was PRIMER diluted with minimal flat white paint. Baseboards not caulked at joining spots. Door gets painted in hinges leaving the original primed wood showing when door is opened and if you change locks, you will see all the unpainted areas. Carpet layers have been out 3 times and have yet to get the carpet completed correctly, with areas of air bubbles remaining in the carpet to date. Having come from construction families on both sides of the family, this is the absolutely worst homes you can find. Mattamy claims they take complaints personal but the regional leadership deserve to be fired for incompetence & are worthless in all aspects. They have zero control of the vendors used across the trades. If we had to do it again, we absolutely would walk away. As dual veterans, fully disabled, to be treated like trash by this home builder is a slap In the face & fact that they could care less if the work is done correctly, let alone completed, means a lot. Of the current owners, ~80% got independent inspectors and almost 100% of those owners are currently in dispute with warranty for repairs. Never, EVER buy from Mattamy. BUYER BEWARE! Joe Russo is unprofessional, condescending, and insulting. His staff come and go because they hire cheap, inexperienced, weak-minded, unqualified help. Workers supporting the build get paid by how many homes they complete work on each day. Todd Hahn, VP of Operations and Russo's boss, doesnt even acknowledge correspondence sent to him. CJ, with Warranty, been here mere weeks, trash. Man cannot stand by his own words. Whatever unprofessional slob that did not even introduce himself, whom CJ brought with him this last time got kicked out of my house for disrespect and trying to talk down to me. He is scum just like Joe Russo. Dozens of owners barely past one year are selling already, all due to dissatisfaction. If you want to have a quality build you, a home and investment you are proud of, dont buy Mattamy, in Arizona at least. Mattamy has less than 1-star across the greater Phienix area and considered one of the worst builders with some of the lowest quality homes in this region. Do your research, talk to existing owners, ask inspectors about Mattamy's reputation. If you are an executive at Mattamy Corp, you should be windering why so many owners are dissatisfied and why your local management is ruining your brand and reputation. We are retired veterans who bought our first home with the goal to leave our children with a home they could be proud of and instead we have a money pit for a home and our VA losn is paying for a residence that after 9-months is still one big storage. This builder developer does not consider surrounding homes when they are building and developing a subdivision. Sendero Crossing in Anthem has been an ongoing project that appears delayed over a year and us neighbors have had to clean our pools and backyard furniture/patios at minimum twice a week if we want to enjoy our backyards as the dust from this project is horrible. They obviously don't employ the brightest people as they go home on Friday and think the dust doesn't blow on the weekends as they have no water trucks running 7 days a week (apparently they think the dust stops blowing over weekends). The main road coming in has rocks and dirt and everybody from our subdivision has to drive through this daily! Mattamy Homes Sendero Crossing is in a flood plain/way and sadly the next big rain will flow down that wash and cause terrible damage to those unsuspecting homeowners. Us neighbors have called the dust control manager, filed complaints with Maricopa County Air Quality Department (they don't work weekends either) and to no avail! So us neighbors are now leaving negative reviews on social media and have news channels lined up to hear our issue with Mattamy Homes! read more

I wrote an earlier review that was not very flattering regarding the home I purchased from Mattamy Homes. However and while the initial construction could have been better. Mattamy has certainly taken correctional action to address ALL of my concerns and issues. The correctional actions taken by Mattamy has been professional. Additionally, I have received follow-up calls and physical visits from Mattamy staff to inspect and ensure all issues were properly done. I do understand the challenges that Mattamy and other builders faced during the massive panic and labor shortage caused by the Covid virus. Yes, I will be eventually selling my Mattamy home (it's too large). I will also be looking at purchasing a smaller (square footage) home and have no reservations in looking and purchasing another Mattamy home. The actual employees of Mattamy Homes have been helpful and their goal was total customer satisfaction. Yes, I experienced a couple of bumps in the road with Mattamy's construction/sub-contractors but Mattamy certainly took the necessary actions to address my issues. read more

My second Mattamy Home purchase and will be my last. Worst experience ever with the quality of this build. Less than two years old, air conditioner motor breaks and I'm left with the cost of the repair. The emergency after hours number (it's Arizona and no air in July IS an emergency), is for their Canada office and they don't have the US number? I left a voicemail with the sales office and still no call back. This is in addition to being told after two attempts to fix an outlet, that it just isn't going to work. I would like to share my home buying experiences with Mattamy Homes, I purchased houses at the community in Chandler (Haven) recently. I have purchased many house from Mattamy Homes and also other home builders (Taylor, Lennar, Dr. Horton). I can tell straight that Mattamy Homes has bad customer service (Warranty Department). I have the experiences where I have to "argue" with the warranty rep in front of my tenants. When I called to his management, he walk away very impolitely of the front door. I reported this conduct to the upper management; the warranty rep argue with me for not being professional. I answer the survey from third party (hired by Mattamy Homes) with honest and thorough responses. The warranty rep told me that I am threatening him. I asked to my tenants about their opinions and they have negative thought about the mattamy warranty rep. My wife and I recently purchased our second home which also happens to be our first new build. With a growing family and growing needs we were excited to look for a larger home. We were lucky enough to grab one of the last home, new builds in the Rhythm neighborhood going through Wendy. Working with Wendy has been great. She thoroughly explained all of our options, the buying process, and never pressured us into anything. Whenever we had questions or concerns it was nice to have quick responses from Nathan and Tim who were the builders. We also thoroughly enjoyed the design process where we had a professional designer, Susie, guiding us in creating our dream home! During the build it got a bit stressful making sure deadlines were met but, Wendy our sales rep went above and beyond to help us! Mattamy as a whole really bent over backwards for me and my family! Terrible Experience with David Kallay. If you show up in the sales offices and he is there, ask for someone else. Do not settle for his assistance in a home buying process. You are a sale only to him, he will do whatever it takes - untruthful, deceptive answers to questions. He knows he can get away with it because they hand you an 80 page document and tell you they need it back in 2 days. He is protected regardless of what was said. I walked away from this process, lost my deposit but it was not worth investing that kind of money with David Kallay and Mattamy Homes. If you are that unlucky to have to deal with him, make sure you only correspond through email and texts. He does not pay attention to detail and you'll quickly see he is not capable of performing his job duties. His famous line 'just sign it and we'll fix it later' Do not work with David Kallay if you are buying a home with Mattamy. I have since closed on a home with Pulte and the process has been nothing but smooth. They were honest, upfront, and reliable. Along the way I also found Maracay homes to have some exceptional employees but the location of their builds were just too far away for me. More broken promises from Mattamy homes. Upstairs sink still damaged and contractor came out for a 3rd time saying it needed to be replaced. Still not replaced. Per John and Gerard the interior would be painted in one day.Nope. Not even half was done. Now they want to schedule for a 5th time. Door frames still not painted. Repairs still not painted. Now we are having electrical issue. Move the dining room hanging light and it trips the breaker. Floors creek so bad it sounds like a 100 year old house. The joists cracked in several locations and the superintendent did nothing as usual. Walls and door ways and window openings are now cracking. Stucco outside is cracking and patches falling off. The house isn't 5 months old. Paint and drywall texture still all over the upgraded fixtures . 5 months of absolute incompetence! Mattamy needs a zero star option for their rating. read more

If you're looking to purchase a home from Mattamy Homes USA Mattamy Homes, DON'T! My husband and I just closed on our home a week ago and it has been a terrible experience... During our final walkthrough, the items we noted were not completed. Item's that were done were "band-aid" fixes. Once you close, no one cares to help you. Please see all of the examples below: 1. The stone for our outdoor fireplace was not completed, but they said it would be the following week. Well, the stone we picked out was a grey/white and they installed black stone. 2. There are literally holes in our drywall up our entire staircase as well as holes by the light switch plates. After trying to get someone for a week (again one of the items we addressed in our final walkthrough), they sent out ONE guy that didn't even bother to pull up the carpet or remove the switchplate before fixing the drywall. I tried to explain to him why I was unhappy, but he barely spoke English. 3. We have a kitchen cabinet that is apparently on order but has yet to be delivered and we have not been given a delivery date. I would love to unpack my kitchen but haven't been able to yet. 4. There was trash all over our backyard and in the hole dug for the pool. We had to ask THREE times for that to be removed before it finally was thrown away today. Please keep in mind that we closed back on 2/23/18. 5. During our final walkthrough we noticed that two layers of blocks had been added to our wall by the neighbor and was clearly done by a handyman that didn't have the correct paint, so now there are spots all over the wall. The neighbor did this without the HOA's approval and when we brought this up, Mattamy's construction manager says, "Oh yeah, I noticed that a couple of weeks ago..." Really?! The neighbors also installed a side gate and in order to install it, drilled all the way through to our side of the yard. Both items have yet to be addressed. In addition to the major items noted above, we've had several smaller items, but Mattamy encourages you to wait, put together a list, and hand it over in 30 days when their warranty person contacts you. Based on the poor quality of work, and unresponsiveness, I'm nervous to wait until the end of our 30 day warranty period. My advice to anyone is to NOT purchase a home built by Mattamy and if you are already in the process, do not close on the home until you have confirmed that all repairs are done and look good to you. Update to my review. After my second complaint with the ROC have still not had our original punch list completed. We are now going on over 1 1/2 years trying to get original walkthrough items taken care of. I have tried to communicate with area managers all the way up to Vice President of the company with zero response. I am a contractor and understand some of the struggles with labor, etc, but this company is built for pure production with absolutely no customer service after the sale. My review is pending. We just closed on our home and at the final walk through there was one major repair not taken care of. A couple minor ones no biggie. Everyone has been excellent to work with and I would not have started a negative review if they didn't attempt to say the repair was completed. I received reassurance from Andy Stauffer and will wait for the next repair attempt to be completed before I finalize this post. 6/2/18 Update and addition of one star. The repairs have been taken care of and primarily because of the neighborhood foreman Nate who has been excellent to work with and who follows through. I never heard back from Andy because he hadNate follow up. We finally moved in on 5/25 last weekend and I did find problem with the sliding glass door in the living room. I have never seen a door built so CHEAPLY! There is an adhesive strip holding the "Plastic" frame to the glass! The plastic frame wouldn't bother me if: 1)it wasn't held together with adhesive double sided tape to the glass; 2)we weren't In Arizona where the temperature has reached a scorching 122 degrees! and 3)the fact that this door is holding an 8'x3' piece of double pain glass that does not appear to be tempered so if it shatters it will more than likely be 50 sq ft of razor sharp pieces! I have submitted the online warranty request after hours on 6/1/18 so i consider it a 6/4 request for warranty repair. At which time I will request a replacement door of a higher quality to withstand heat and direct sunlight since the door faces west. read more

We built and moved into our house a few years ago. The house was built by Mattamy Homes and it is in the Marley Park Home Owners Association. When we were doing the final walk through before we signed the paperwork to close on the house, we noticed that the concrete border around the front yard was cracked in multiple places. We asked the man doing the walk through with us from Mattamy who told us that it was no problem and they would take care of it. He added it onto the list and said he would take care of that along with other issues (paint and such) in the next couple weeks. He fixed everything else in the coming month, but he didn't fix the cracked border. He told us several times that he would take care of it and then he said that it was an HOA issue, but he would contact them and get it done. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and waited and since they had fixed everything else. Fast forward a couple months and I contacted him again and he had left the company. The new contact from Mattamy said that he saw it on the walk through form and he would take care of it. I also contacted the Marley Park HOA and they said they would look into it. Over the following couple years, I have had several new repair people from Mattamy tell me that they can take care of it and it'll be easy and then they never fix it. The HOA has said that it is ok private property and refuse to fix it. Now, Marley Park HOA says it is not their fault, on private property and refuses to help. Mattamy says that they think that the HOA must have broken it when they were landscaping and so it isn't their problem either. They also said that it is too late now because the warranty expired even though I have literally asked since before I even owned the house. I am very frustrated as it happened before I bought the house and certainly was not caused by something I did. The two groups that could have caused it have been very hard to reach and Mattamy has made promises and then not followed through. My advice to anyone planning to build with them or to build in this neighborhood it this: Don't sign the paperwork until ALL repairs are fully done. If you have taken on responsibility for the house, you'll be on your own. Best of luck. read more

We built a house with Mattamy 2 1/2 years ago. Love the home but hate the high utility bills. Our APS (Power) bill as been extremely high ($400 - $700 p/month) in the summer months. We just had an energy audit completed and they found on average 3" of insulation in the attic (some areas you can see the drywall ceiling). The only area that had the 8" minimum was mounded up around the measuring sticks showing for inspection. Very disappointed and feel like this is fraud. Now on top of the high bills over the past 2 1/2 years I now have to spend over $2,000 on insulation and duct sealing. read more

Needless to say our home buying experience hasn't been the greatest, dealing with Tom was great, he told us upfront there could be delays which being in the industry I understood. Upon completion of the house I could not be more let down. Let's start off with the drywall mud and texture, there were spots all over where excessive drywall mud had fallen and just painted over, whoever did the texture used a brush all over the house creating brush marks all over which is hideous to look at, you can also see where the tape and seems we're through the house. I have screws sticking out that didn't go all the way in the drywall that were ignored and just painted over. I have paint peeling and bubbling already. Second nobody uses a level towel racks hung visibly crooked. Rock pillars outside all wonky and set at an angle. Shower pan ended up Needing to be replaced and they originally offered some janky spray foam fix which I told them was unacceptable. They did upgrade my shower pan but that turned into a process where plumbers broke something claimed couldn't come back for a week or two, shower door guy didn't measure right and shorted himself and decided to fill it in with caulk instead of getting a new piece cut right. Overall the craftsmanship/workmanship is crap, you can tell they hire the cheapest subs, they sent over a drywall person to fix/repair things in the shower and had no knowledge of what to do, asked my wife what she needed to do and if she was done and so on. Overall the house is built cheaply and for the price we paid I expected more, i truly believe they need to have a quality control person that actually goes back and checks the work. I wouldn't recommend this builder and will certainly not be purchasing from them again. read more

Very poor, sub standard build quality, they obviously use unskilled, cheap labor, I watched them perform on neighbors new builds. I have just put a wooden feature wall in the great room and it was a nightmare, no walls or ceiling are flat, they are like a dog's hind leg, fitting trim is a pig when following crap work. Poor practice of putting baseboards in then tiling up to them means you have to trim the replacement board . I'm sorry to piss and moan, maybe because AZ is a right to work state you do not get apprentice trained skilled workers, most of the guys I saw looked like they had been picked up outside Home Depot, but still Mattamy show a lack of oversight and good inspections, it looks like shite work is the order of the day and it's up to the customer to fault find. Keep well away is my advice, there are better builders by far out there. read more

Mattamy Homes is the worse builder around. I'm now stuck with a two story lemon! I have a cracked tension slab which should not have cracked and they did not fix it and now my stairs leading to the second floor are cracking. I have a crack in the ceiling as well and broken tile in one of my rooms where the tension slab crack ends. The grout on the tiles have holes throughout the home and Mattamy blame it on my dogs. Because according to them the dogs walked perfectly in a straight grout line to create the holes. I have a crooked ceiling that was replaced because the original ceiling came down due to negligence on their part. They left the roof caps open during a monsoon storm and my walls and ceiling came crashing down. The paint jobs are horrible throughout the home and they don't care. They also lied to me on about not being able to get quotes from other pool builders except the one they use in order to rob me of my money. Now they washed their hands and won't fix anything. Please save your money and don't buy a half ass made home from Mattamy Homes they really suck and hire non experienced workers to cut corners. One of my worst investment in my life was to buy a Mattamy Home. Stay away from this builder. read more

Areas of missed wall texturing and poorly matched texturing. miss matched cabinet colors not removing baseboards prior to tiling the floor.,vents and lighting not square or centered. During the design stage some aspects of the house were not communicated or communicated poorly The sales people are nice but if we weren't already so committed to this house or manufacturer I would probly go with a different builder read more

In 2013 I built a house with Mattamy and it is now a year later and I thought I would provide an update. We signed in April 2013 to build a brand new house from the ground up in Mattamy's Marley Park Heritage series. We closed in November 2013 and this review is being written a year later in December 2014. In short: Did the process go perfectly? No, but it didn't go horribly wrong either. After hearing horror stories of builders back in the boom days, this actually went much better than I anticipated. This wasn't a custom build and the contractors/builders didn't work for me, so I knew resolving any issues that may arise would be limited. Would we build with them again if given the chance, probably. The good: The initial signing process was easy. You were allowed to visit the work site after hours as much as you wanted. You had contact info of the on site foreman for any concerns. Options/accessories were actually decently priced at the time (now more expensive) The OK: Had to choose things like door hardware and lighting fixtures and the such at the initial signing. Selection was limited. Had to choose a cabinet "package" at signing, but you could not see the cabinets until a later date which may cost more or less at that time. Design center was OK, had a good choice of flooring, cabinets, carpet and the such. Pricey, but to be expected. Walk-through with builder prior to drywall to check things out. Any concerns were addressed (or explained as to why that is). And the silly: Took about 2 months to break ground. I was told that they were waiting on the city to approve the permits. I happen to work for the city and knew that the permit had been sitting waiting to be picked up (and paid for). Once I pointed this out to them, construction started very quickly. Prices for the cabinet packages went up after we signed. We were price locked in, but the next tier down was now more expensive. If we wanted to downgrade our cabinets at the design center, we would have had to pay more We didn't want the master bathroom mirror installed. Fee: $100, to save them $$ and time. Spec home being built next door took priority over ours. We had asked about doing a split level island (sink built in, wanted half the island higher, pretty standard), and also wanted a cast-iron sink. Took over 2 months and no answer. Between the delay in starting and this, we were ready to pull out. They did remedy this in our favor. You can choose any 5 colors of brown interior paint that you want. Just 5. Not sure why you can't go custom here. Per their building features info sheet, we should get 3 "holiday" outlets. They only gave us 2. When I asked them about this I was told that 3 is not standard. I pointed out that every other version of our model has 3. They said it was a "bonus" to the other ones. Not worth fighting Per their building features info sheet, all interior lights are to be CFLs. Upstairs were CFLs, downstairs were incandescent. When I asked about getting the CFL's I was told they are not standard (even though the sheet says differently). Said I should have all incandescent. After pointing out that half were already CFL, they replaced the remainder to CFL. Warranty: They only have 1 warranty coordinator for all developments in the west valley. After submitting a warranty service item it could take 3-4 weeks for a response. If it was something major, they did provide a list of the installers to contact directly if needed. There was a warranty service immediately after moving in if you found anything, 30 days and 1-year. They also will handle anything that comes up in the mean time. They do take care of the issues without too much trouble, but it may take a while to get back to you. Overall build quality: Framing/Foundation/Sturdiness: Seems solid, no creaks, and very little settling cracks. Plumbing: Good. Electrical: Much to be desired here. Safe and up to code, yes. Quality of workmanship left a lot to be desired. Some of the light fixture boxes were loose, switch plates not level, and strange switch locations. Pay the extra few $$ and specify more switches to be installed in strategic locations. You'll appreciate it. HVAC: Sized correctly, insulation sufficient. Drain pan was cracked during installation. Could have been easily fixed there, but wasn't. Chas Roberts tech had to spend 3 hours in our attic in July to repair. 15 minute fix if taken care of prior to sealing everything up. Drywall: texturing a bit uneven. They did fix some of the major locations. Paint: Just OK. Not much attention to detail and required touch ups prior to move in. Some exterior wood accents had gaps and not painted top. Cabinets: Good Flooring: Having some issues with grout chipping and some popped tiles. Warranty repaired. Repairs and issues pointed out during inspection for the most part ignored prior to closing.Trying to get issues addressed after closing not their highest priority. Quality Control apparently not a high point of Mattamy Home either . Pretty apparent corners are cut at home buyers expense . If you dont Want to spend your weekends fixing items that you would expect to find in a 10 year old home don't buy a Mattamy Home. This is what to expect with your new home!! Mismatched interior paint , areas touched up don't even come close. Holes in walls. Interior doors not locking or closing right. Broken roof tiles. Cracks 4 to 6 foot in exterior stucco . Damaged $7k sliding door . Faulty windows. Paint on most the towel racks and ceiling light fixtures. Raised tape lines on interior our walls and ceilings. Areas of interior paint totally missed. Holes mid-drilled in ceiling for light fixtures. Blinds missing or not working. The list just goes on and on. read more

This is what you get when you purchase a Mattamy home. When they installed out counter tops they had these dark spots that they said would go away. They promised they would fix out countertops if we ever had an issue in the future. Well here we are 3 years later and we now have white spots exactly where the dark spots originally were. Mattamy won't fix them because they don't stand behind their product. Mattamy is terrible and I will never build with them again. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. This is our most recent issue. We have also had a leaking bath tub which resulted in mold. We also had water come pouring through our ceiling because our roof was not installed correctly. Mattamy Homes is one of 3 builders we have worked with in the last 5yrs. This is the first time we have had an issue. The lack of transparency, quality, honesty by the company has led to unfortunate circumstances. We have had a positive experience working with the warranty team. They have listened and addressed within their scope. The false advertisement we received led to great expenses for us. Customer service is not a focus for this company. STAY AWAY! Our entire experience from closing until now with the 1 year follow up has been a complete nightmare. The level of customer service we have received is laughable. Even getting the regional presidents involved doesn't do anything. This is just a snapshot of what we have dealt with: - We signed the paperwork to build then they told us we couldn't choose 6 different color combinations. Luckily there was only one we liked. - Paperwork was delayed at closing - Grass was completely dead when we moved in. They laid the sod before turning on the water from the city. - We then laid an irrigation system out and flagged all of the heads for them to lay the new sod around and had a meeting with the landscape manager. When I returned home, they laid the sod over the flags and heads!!! I had to dig on my hands and knees to find the heads and pull the flags out! There were 8 water bottles on our lawn and red clay smeared all over our sidewalk out front. I was so angry and fired off a harsh email. Their response congratulated me for being unprofessional and didn't even address the issue! - After closing we arrived at our new home (and dead yard) to dusty floors and vans parked all over the front. We couldn't even move in! They were still working on the closing list items we gave over a week before. About 2 out of 30+ were fixed. - Painting around the exterior was horrendous. Missing paint, uneven edges, splatter on the siding, paint smears on the window frame, bubbling around the door frames. We had a paint crew come out 5, yes 5 different times just to paint a door frame because they couldn't do it the first time. - Hardwood floors were dented and damaged in several places upon move-in - Stair banister was cracked - HDMI didn't work - Garage door trim was broken - Multiple doors were oversprayed with paint that dripped down - Kitchen counter was unfinished - Ceilings painted wrong color in every closet - Cabinets were scratched - On over 10 different occasions the sub-contractors have either not showed, been unprepared, had to reschedule, shown up late, etc. Once they do show up, the work is shoddy at best. - Since we have moved in and before installing an irrigation system, we have constantly had standing water on the back corner of our house. Mattamy has sent people out that say the 2% grade should provide adequate drainage and that they aren't going to fix it. They blame it on overwatering and our irrigation. We continue to have this problem through the winter with no irrigation on. Instead of trying to fix the situation to make us happy after all that we have been through, they want to push the blame onto us and our neighbors yard draining into ours. Well guess what, YOU graded the whole neighborhood so that is NOT MY PROBLEM!!!! They are so understaffed that I had to be the project manager all day long for our year check up! No one even showed up for the whole two days they were there with the checklist that we made and 8 things weren't done. I had to follow the crew around that couldn't speak English and babysit them all day. They left twice and I, not the project manager, had to bring them back to fix things and they still left unfinished! They were supposed to sand, stain and apply poly on the all of the stairs... they LITERALLY slathered stain on top of the stairs without sanding and only did the bottom 7 steps! The stain can't soak in so we have to cover it so we don't stamp stain all over our floors! Now we have two-tone sticky stairs wrapped in plastic until they come back to try again. I now have to take off work to reschedule to do it right! Our experience could have been COMPLETELY different if they would have just done things right the first time or at least second time, been prepared at closing, treated us like clients that just spent $300k on a home. What started off as a long list of minor little issues (other than the yard) has turned into one of the worst of experiences of my life. When we think about our home the feelings are disgust, anger and frustration. I literally tell every single person I meet that is looking to build a home to not even THINK about using Mattamy. Thank you for ruining what was supposed to be one of the greatest experiences of being married. You have completely sucked the joy out of owning a new home. read more

The entire process with Mattamy Homes was a mess. There have been so many issues that have still yet to be resolved. If they are somewhat resolved I had to fight hard to get them "fixed". It was not just the fighting to get it "fixed". I "" fixed, because are a little better, but not like they should be. Also, the amount of time I have invested in being home to have the trades "fix" the issues is unreal. One trade would create another issue and then I would need to be here for another trade. We were to havea final walk through when we got the keys. Mattamy declined the walk through. It was Friday and the guys were "just too tired". That is what my husband was told. The truth of the matter is that the house was not completed. When we moved in there was no hot water. They were told about it on Friday, but failed to fix the issue until Tuesday. They fireplace did not work for months. When they did get it working the pulled out the manuals. There are supposed to be checks run on the home. Um, if the checks were completed the manual would have been in the fireplace. They installed the wrong stone on my fireplace. I had to fight hard to get that changed. There was sewage in my front yard the first week. They failed to snake the main sewage line. My AC unit has already had issues. Instead of getting me a new unit they just filled the unit with more Freon. It is taking 2 months to get the new coil made for the unit. In mean time the Freon is leaking. My house once again is not cooling. The part will not be in until the end of August. This is not fun in AZ summers. The cabinets were damaged when installed and have yet to be restored to new condition. The floors had to be ripped out and re installed. They are still not great, but so tired of dealing with them. They neglected to install an overflow drain on a second floor master tub. That process took them 4 hours. That did not include the patching and painting of the two huge holes that they had to make in order to do the drain. The doors were damaged. It is amazing what I had to do to get that taken care of. They put the wrong stove in my house. They put in a cheaper model than the one I paid for. I am working on getting my correct stove. There are so many more issues, but you get the point. I will not build with Mattamy again and can not recommend them to others. read more
