We have never had to plan for a full landscaping project as this was our "dream" home built from…read moreground up. We initially signed on with a larger company I heard over the radio, and they did pavers, but not pools. They gave us the phone number to Fusion Pool & Spa, and upon meeting Eric (the owner), we were extremely impressed with his professionalism, prompt return of phone calls, and answered any questions we had about designing pools. We were initially worried because we lived up in the Brea area (Orange County), and he was based out of the Oceanside area. Our concerns were swiftly wiped away once he started laying out blueprint plans for the pool. He would meet up with us at our convenience, worked around our schedule to make sure we sat down in person to go through his plans, even though the distance was far, he never missed a meeting with us. Things took a turn for the worse though for us when we no longer could get into contact with the paving company who introduced us to Fusion Pool and Spa. Phone call after phone call, no one answered and Eric's team was ready to go but needed certain colors chosen for the pavers so that he could get an idea of the color scheme we wanted. As we gave the green light to start the pool project, I remember standing in the back yard, as it was barren, just dirt, and Eric saying "tomorrow, it will look like a bomb went off in your backyard, but don't worry, it's all in the plan". And sure enough, Fusion Pool & Spa went to town on the back! They came in with all of their heavy equipment, began digging out trenches, and pool site as well. After not hearing from the paving company, and seeing how efficient Eric was, we asked if he did pavers as well. He said he does, but as a vendor with this larger company, he didn't want to overstep his role in this project. I told him that we had waited and waited for the paving company to call back (weeks!), and since they dropped the ball, we wanted to go with him. After a few phone calls to make sure Eric wouldn't lose his connection, I finally got the corporate contact for the paving company, and politely explained that we didn't understand what was happening on the scheduling side, but that we were very pleased they introduced us to Eric for our pool, and that we would really like to have him complete the project as it made more sense to consult one person for the different colors, patterns, schematics needed to bring everything together. They were very professional, and polite, and understood our dilemma with them, but were happy to have introduced Eric to us. So that was our green light to have Eric develop the ultimate backyard! We were so impressed with his progress, and so thankful that he kept up with our constant changes (things always look different on paper than in real life), that as he was finishing up the back yard, we asked if he did front landscaping as well. He of course said yes, and the project moved from the back to the front! All I have to say is that as unfortunate it was for the bigger company to have lost this job, it was a huge blessing that we crossed paths with Eric and his team. Almost 2 years later, if any touch up is ever needed with pavers (earth does shift and so do pavers!), Eric's team comes up, levels out, and brings the back yard to perfection. Update problem resolved!…read more Old Review, Enrique is a master at repairs and knowledgeable of equipment but unfortunately he has people working for him that don't have a clue at servicing, the service has been hit and miss we started out with him doing the pool service and things couldn't be more perfect he also programmed our new pump to do fancy things and added some circuits that would be controlled through the app. Then he told us his apprentice was going to take over and we were damn we thought we just found the right pool guy so we gave him a try can't remember his name he's a young African American kid well the first week he broke the head on my wife's concrete turtle statue. After that just sloppy cleaning my wife would ask did the pool guy show up this week I'm like I guess well why is there trash in the spa? Don't know. Well weeks would pass sometimes the pool would look nice other times not too many weeks the spa went unvacuumed that's when I told Enrique we don't like the service your guy is doing and would like to switch to chemical service only but I mentioned if he could do it personally we would stay full service he agreed he would do it on another day we were fine with that. Well a week went by he didn't show up so I asked him if anyone swung by this week and he said it slipped his mind and said he wouldn't charge me $25 for that week the week after he showed up and the pool was looking like a charm until the following week where no one showed up again. One thing I still haven't figured out is the billing sometimes it's a mid-month sometimes at the beginning of the month anyways I spent some time vacuuming the pool and spa myself while we were swimming and I haven't heard anything from Enrique so I might just start doing it myself if it has to come to that. If anyone knows a dependable pool service let me know.

We just had Jimi with So Cal Custom Pools and Spa re-do our old plaster pool. I had 5 different…read moreestimates from 5 separate contractors. Some were large corporations and some smaller operations. Most estimates came in very close in price. To me price was not the number one factor, after reading reviews and talking to people in the industry, we chose to go with So Cal Custom Pools. I was very impressed with Jimi and how everything from start to finish was handled. Little things to me are important, like show up when you say you will, complete a job to the best of your ability. Jimi showed up every time when he said he would, the pool was completed on time and looks amazing. I would always know when someone was coming to the house, I received either a call of text prior to someone showing up. We started with demo, the demo crew removed all the old plaster, tile and cooping, when the crew was completed the yard was swept and cleaned after. Everything looked clean and the crew took pride in the work. Next we had the tile and coping installed. I did have 2 small change orders. I changed the water feature and had the tile guys do a little more work than was originally expected. This was the only increase to the pricing and everything else came out exactly as expected. Once the tile and coping were installed the pebble was installed. The crew showed up and completed this in the morning. As soon as the plaster was completed we started to fill the pool immediately.
