I have always liked the selection and customer service of Mathis brothers. So went back last year to buy a dining table and chair set. They have this silly membership system now and the salesman assured numerous times that it is one time fee. This week my credit card charged $150 for annual membership. Never signed up for annual membership and it is ridiculous. Talk about asking a class action lawsuit. How about going back to honest good service furniture sales business. Definitely losing a long time customer. And if you are desperate enough for furniture I suppose you should bring a recorder to record the sale process and your own contract lawyer to review everything with them. read more

when purchasing from any Mathis Brothers keep in mind to check all stitching, piping etc. The majority of the time it is sewed incorrectly, as is not the same on both sides, fabric tucked in when it shouldn't be, not sewed well, etc. Also NEVER buy an extended warranty. It will not cover any stichting that has come apart at the seem where it usually occurs. Very false advertisemen. A while ago just this morning this company tried to deliver and sneak in a set of recliners wrapped in flimsy plastic wrapper. Upon checking the item I saw some blemishes on the item. It's a used one! Isn't it a new product should be delivered in a taped and sealed boxes? Upon seeing it I told the guys to take it back. I was expecting a call but no one called because they were waiting for the dining set to arrive before processing my order for 2-4 weeks without informing me. !!!!! 3) I had to make multiple phone calls and was informed that the dining set was on backorder for 2-4 weeks, despite being initially told it was in stock. I received my invoice through email and it includes a freight fee. By becoming a member, you will receive delivery free of charge! Absolutely not!! YOU WILL STILL BE BILLED! I called and spent 19 mins on the phone finally it was removed. ! why did it had to called this should have never happened. 5) I had to pick up the phone for the third time to request the removal of the freight charges. 6) My sales representative was supposed to check into another dining set but he didn't follow through, failing to provide me with alternative choices. Completely disregarded my request or follow up. I had called left messages and text never heard bad. 7) Required numerous phone calls to arrange the delivery schedule. My recommendation for anyone shopping at this store: Review your receipt to confirm no freight charges, and if they claim to have the item in stock, ensure it is documented because they may accuse you of lying or being mistaken later. I'm disappointed because I only went there to pick up an item that was in inventory, not to wait for 2-3 weeks I have been a faithful patron of Living Spaces, but I made the switch due to Mathis Brothers' advertising, which turned out to be a major error. I wanted to be free to walk around see if there was anything I liked.. tell me why the salesman followed me all around the store. First floor, second floor it didn't matter. I recently went into this Mathis Brothers because it had been some time since I've visited this store. I wanted to see the new furniture and trends. I was greeted by a person upon walking in, then two feet later another person, then 5 feet later a third, then another 18" another. I took a half breath and three more people greeted me, I turned the corner and I gazed upon a piece of furniture and another person greeted me. 18 people came up to me in 9 minutes. If this was a bar or I was lost in the woods and they were National Park Rangers I'd have given 5 stars, but no I never was able to look at furniture while I was there. At first, I figured I was just on the TV show impractical jokers, but a TV crew never revealed themselves. They did have a full bar upstairs for when your nerves are so far wrecked you can have a mixed drink to ease the beyond high pressure sales tactics. They made the solar energy people and the Jehovah's Witnesses look like amateur hour. Anyways when they took off the handcuffs, and returned my wallet after I agreed to purchase a $12,000 bedroom set, I was happy to get out of there. Service related. We walked in along with two other groups of customers who were both instantly swarmed and greeted by several sales people gathered at the front entrance. None of them greeted us and asked about what we were looking for today. Definitely a store environment that feels like if you look and dress a certain way you'll get better service. We were lucky enough to get a couch for a decent price and because it was on clearance doesn't mean it should be treated the way it was... I'm going for pickup and the team helping to move the couches onto the UHaul didn't realize I was in the store watching them literally break and rip them even more than condition we bought it in.... Seriously terrible I even talked to 1 of the employees they used the excuse of just taking it apart and I said clearly you don't know how if they're going it like that... they were kicking and tugging on it really hard... She showed us every dining table in the place only for us to choose the first dining set we saw at the front door. Not once did we ever feel pressured to purchase or rushed by this patient lady. I purchased a custom couch from Mathis Bros in September 2024 at the Ontario CA store. Received the couch 11/1/24. This couch is as hard as a park bench. Unusable as is. I DID NOT order extra firm or anything like it. I have called numerous times to correct and have been put off and put off and put off. I am always told someone will call me back with NO results. The technician that came to my home to exam the couch explained the "core" was too hard and would be great in a doctors office, it would last 30 years. He said It would take about an hour to correct by switching out the "core" and I offered to pay for the correction myself. This is a $3,000 couch, not an $800 couch from a discount store. Stay away if you are ordering a custom anything that comes in different than what you asked for..... So frustrated!! read more

She said she will help me, and to write her an email with the subject "ATTENTION HOLLY". 24hrs goes by, and I don't hear from her. So I send a follow up email. She says she is working on it. The worst furniture experience I've ever dealt with. Please save yourself the time and hassle because they will make you jump through hoops to get your product to your home... I ordered a couch from this store.. first delivery day the product showed up damaged. They scheduled a new delivery day for me between the times of 3-6pm, I agree and arrange my date accordingly. I get a txt at 9am that morning stating my couch would be there in an hour. I scramble to get to my new home, when they finally set up the couch it's missing 2 cushions. I call multiple customer services, delivery services, and staff and all tell me different things. Finally they let me know the fastest my cushions will get here is 2 weeks!! Mathis Bros (they certainly act like bros) is a terrible place that sells low quality furniture that is dressed up to look expensive. Their showroom and design is meant to fool you into thinking you are in a high end place but they sell trash and their "customer service" is only focused on one thing: getting your money. If you want to show there stay away from Sejal Puri (one of their "associates") - she has mastered the art of getting you thinking she is a friend but she is only interested in her commission; once she gets that, she doesn't have any use for you. You will get stalked, bothered, and harassed by dozens of "associates" there. You might think "wow they are well staffed" but it is because they have so many people that are only working on commission (with maybe a token minimum wage to ensure labor laws are followed). These people are oriented (perhaps trained?) to pretend to be your friend but they only have one goal: steer you to the highest marked up product, get you to buy that, and add on as many more products as they can. We have now waited for almost two months for a couch for which they have already gotten their money - and Sejal has gotten her commission. Do we have it? Nope? Will we ever get it? Nobody can tell us. Daily calls to the "scheduling warehouse" (this call center is in Oklahoma City btw) get us "oh it will be in tomorrow" or "it will be there in two days". That has been going on for over a month now. I call back and get the "oh it will be in tomorrow" again and when I point out they've said that for weeks now I get the voice shrug. Last thing, I should've learned my lesson on the last sofa I bought from them which was nearly $2,000. It didn't even last five years with normal use. We came in today on a Friday afternoon and was cheerfully greeted by a desk full of employees. Then a friendly employee named Valerie greeted us, asked what were where interested in looking at, and proceeded to escort us to the recliner area. Valerie was knowledgeable and patient with us as we tried out different recliners and wandered around. There are so many options to choose from and fabric possibilities! After looking around awhile I remembered the gray recliner I saw online. I showed Valerie the picture and she knew exactly where it was! I tested it out and even brought a book to read to see if I was still comfortable. Valerie was so friendly and helpful. I recommend having her assist you with new furniture!! read more

My wife, 2 year old son and I went in to look at patio furniture. Robert was our salesman and helped us out and answered our questions. We informed him we were ready to buy and he told us he had to go get his computer and would meet us back in the patio furniture section. I continued looking at some clearance office furniture then proceeded upstairs to the patio section area. I waited for about 10-15 minutes, and Robert never showed. I understand it's a massive showroom so I went to the front desk and asked if they could call Robert. One person said he didnt work and the other told me he was off. They still called him and Robert did in fact go home for the day. At no point did Robert tell me or my wife he was going to be off soon or even offer us a business card. He just totally left us hanging. Completely unprofessional and inconsiderate. Mathis, I know my purchase of almost $3000 isn't much to you as a company, but its a lot to me! Anthony Davis, the sales rep, is a gem to work with and truly goes above and beyond to help you in the most challenging times that YOU WILL for a fact experience. So think twice about ever buying furniture from Mathis. I know I won't be anymore! I've had to experience MULTIPLE returns, repairs, and cancelations of repairs due to the one and only repair guy being "sick" and another most recently being "canceled/rescheduled" because of traffic from where he was at. So think about it, twice in my schedule I had to wait for someone, who never showed up. I still sit here today with a repair needing to be done. See more below! They've also damaged my stairs upon delivery, and I'm awaiting a third party company to contact me to repair my oak stairs. Yet to happen weeks later. Will they ever? Who knows! ALSO, to my surprise, I had ANOTHER Mathis customer show up to my house claiming that their airpods showed at my house the day of one of my deliveries from Mathis, which happened to be a day they had a delivery from Mathis too. In short, a Mathis delivery employee stole items out of their house, came to my house and did a delivery. Thank Apple for find my iPhone feature. Everything synced up, their delivery date, and mine, and the same delivery guys! They ended up having to go to Mathis in Ontario to sort it directly with management. Waiting for my refund from Mathis Home since 4/1/23. I was told 10 business day is their working day. So I waited patiently for the money to come back. Found out Mathis home only refunded partially. Out of $1861.41, there was only $1458.45 refunded. The other refunds of $1.55 x4 & $198.38 x2 were not refunded to me at all. (Don't ask me why they refunded this this way. I have no clues.) Buyers be aware. Mathis Home call center from Oklahoma said they changed out credit card company. The old credit card company DID NOT forwarded/transferred my refunded info to the new credit card company. That's why my refund was not done. To make this even worse, the rep said the accounting team ask me to call the Mathis Home Credit Card company for the refund. The rep asked them what's the number to give to the client, they said they don't know. I have to google it. Unbelievable, I hope this message message get to the person who will really get things done right. It's not about money now, it's about the principle. Came back to look one more time at the bed sets and couches we liked. I was glad that there were a lot of customers which mean we wouldn't be bothered by a salesperson. Bad assumption! To my surprise the gray couch that I loved went up $300!!! What the heck? I was only here 17 days ago. The salesperson who approaches me while I was sitting in the couch told me that this particular style with chenille fabric was really popular and flew out the door. Supply and demand, right? Then he continued saying that didn't the other sales person tell you that prices goes up!?! Excuse me? He kept trying to convince me to buy it and join their membership to get if for the lower price. They will try to sell you furniture insurance through a company, GBS. Please do NOT spend extra money for extended insurance. GBS, has several loopholes protecting themselves from helping the insured. They are in the business to collect money, with no expectation of helping the person who spent the money. It was time to commit to the bunk bed for my daughter, so I knew just where to go. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the staff and introduced to Tom. I said I was in for a bunk bed or anything that catches my daughter's eye, really (so she can sleep in her own bed lol). I preferred to have a loft style bed to maximize space, but good engineering on those things wasn't going to come at a convenience. I was brought to the children's bedding area where I could take my pick and really browse to get a feel for what I wanted. We explored a few options, as there were plenty of styles and finishes to choose from. My daughter and I both love what we chose. I bought mattress from their clearance dept. I made sure that the bed is in good condition by lying in it many times. My husband did the same thing, we made sure that the bed is in good condition before we bought the mattress. I also bought the adjustable frame from the clearance dept. both items has the labels hanging on it. When the items were delivered to us, the delivery man told me right away that the bed is damaged. The upper layer of the mattress which is gel is smaller than the Bottom part of the bed. The delivery guy said he will leave the bed to us but will request for replacement: I agreed with him but when I did not hear from Mathis for a couple of days, I called them to ask for replacement. They asked me to come over a choose another bed but I have to add more money. I told them that the bed that was delivered to me is not the bed that I bought but of course I have no proof so Mathis did not replace the bed. I was given the round around so I decided to keep the bed that was delivered to me. I think their employees replaced my bed with defective bed but there was nothing I could do. Multiple disappointing experiences now. They items cost more and they tout quality but the junk doesn't hold up any better then the cheap stuff online so save your money, it's no better quality. Their protection plans are complete garbage as well. Issues: 1. My couch took 10 months to deliver instead of the 4 promised. 6 months later the Chaise portion was sagging already ... called and after several calls, they sent someone out to "re-stuff" ... still sagging in the middle... called again and got told that's normal wear and tear. For a $5000 (Brand is Bernhardt) I should at least get 2 years out without it starting to sag... 2. Paid $600 for a rug and 18 months later all the color has faded out of it... got told that's "wear and tear" .. my $150 rug in the other room off wayfair is several years older and looks practically new compared to this one.. another lesson learned. read more

She's one of the sweetest, most caring and straight forward person I've ever met. She showed me exactly what I wanted and cared about what I want. I'm very disappointed in my recent experience with Mathis Brothers. I have been a customer for years. I purchased an adjustable mattress 2 years ago. The bed is comfortable however the center of the mattress has a 3 inch hump in the bend of the bed when adjusted. Their is also a sink in the center of the bed. When I call to exchange the mattress using my warranty, I was met with RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The I was treated as If I was asking for a favor and the information I followed to process the claim was incorrect, and for this I was reprimanded by the rude lady. I spent thousands of dollars in that store and the salesman Javier was always so kind. After months of back and forth I'm not expected to pay $300 to return thier defective mattress and I live less then 10 miles from the store. I'm done with Mathis Brothers forever.
