FINALLY got my matcha from Matcha Thomas and it did not disappoint! I have been following them on Instagram for over a year and the drinks always look good and mine loved up to my expectations. I did not know what I should get so I asked what they recommended which was their signature drink, the matcha Thomas. I got mine with oat milk added and a little extra sweet than normal. It was very creamy with the coconut milk mixed in and I was surprised I liked that. The owners were there and super friendly talking me up. I find it so impressive and encouraging seeing two young african american female entrepreneurs fulfilling their goals with a successful niche high demand business! The vibe was great. They have SO MANY options, if you don't like matcha they have many different types of milk teas and others of the sorts, the matcha though is hands down the best I've ever had. The girl who makes them knows what's she's doing because she can wisk up like three drinks in under 3 minutes like it was nothing. The scenery is so nice and calming to they always have calming music and it's never loud. Sometimes there's a small line but it always goes by fast. The prices are not to expensive either! read more

I always wondered why people wrote poetry and I kid you not, after visiting Matcha Thomas, I finally understand. A friend who lives in bacon had raved about this place so when we finally visited, we had to try it. Bummer that we got in on a Wednesday and they're only open on Friday to Sunday. No problemo! We hung out in Hudson valley and came back on Friday afternoon to try it out finally. I've had a matcha latte once and that experience still makes me want to gag so I was apprehensive. I ordered milk & matcha, sweetened. My partner ordered the ginger matcha. While we waited, we looked at the wall of notes. You can buy a drink for someone and leave a note with a heart, they are redeemable, no questions asked. They also have a cut corner with merch. Back to the drinks, I was apprehensive, as we know and I closed my eyes and took a sip of my milk and matcha and wow. I took a second sip just to make sure it really was what I was tasting. The almond milk and matcha were a perfect combination. It wasn't too sweet or not sweet enough. Within a minute, I was halfway through my drink! I also tasted the ginger beer and it was so yummy! This is my absolute favorite place to go and study. Everyone is also so sweet and work so hard to make sure everyone in their store feels comfortable. It is always clean and so welcoming to be in. Truly such a nice and peaceful experience. We came to beacon on a day trip and I saw this place on Yelp and had to stop by. The interior is very calming and simplistic. There's an extra room on the side with a projector and books and bean bags too! There's also a cute wall where you can leave notes or drawings. We ordered the hojicha thomas, matcha ginger beer, and milk & matcha. All 3 were quite delicious and we all enjoyed our drinks! Hello, boba of my dreams! Each of my visits to MT have left me rather speechless, so it's months since my first visit and time to give them all the Yelp love that they deserve. These are the Instagrammable boba drinks that are not only beautiful/make your mouth water at first sight, but live up to their photographic promises. Expect a decadent creamy (made with coconut cream, no dairy here, praise the vegan gods!) drink with perfectly chewy/slightly sweet tapioca pearls. And then they get creative with seasonal flavors. I think my favorite was made with pineapple, making it a piña colada back over the summer The women behind the counter (I believe them to be the owners) are really nice and even if there's a line, you won't be in for a long wait. I love the drinks. And they have a point system that's supposed to reward you for being a long-term returning customer. But I found out that you only get points if you spend at least $9 minimum. This place has the best matcha I've had in my life by FAR. I wandered in on Thursday because I was too dumb to check whether Dia:Beacon was open and kind of wandered in a depressed state towards Main Street. The storefronts on this street were surprisingly inviting and each store had great items in a clean atmosphere. Anyway, Matcha Thomas was one of the storefronts and the inside looked so nicely decorated, but in a minimal and welcoming way. I ordered the Lavender Matcha Latte and got to observe them literally hand whisk the matcha. I really appreciated that the place was dairy-free as I always feel like a prude when I want to change the de-facto milk and end up just rolling around the rest of the day in a pool of lactose intolerance. They saved 100% of my anxiety by not having dairy at all. I chose oat milk and dang, it was a great choice. I usually don't drink an entire matcha or coffee in one sitting, but it was too good. It wasn't overpoweringly sweet, or bitter - it was just the perfect balance. The restaurant had a space where you could contribute a post-it to the wall to motivate others, and the back area is this wellness room that was just a great addition to the overall relaxed atmosphere. If I thought about someone's dream matcha restaurant, this is basically what I would have imagined. I seem to keep missing when they have cookies or pastries and I've been dying to try them! However I love the strawberry matcha so much I had to post a review. It's just right and not too sweet which if you are like me and hate the sticky sweet matcha at most chains you'll love it too! You can even get less sweet matcha lattes with alternative milks as well. There was one barista behind the counter but they were super quick in making our drinks even with a line behind us and others placing new orders. Everything even the straws was able to be placed in the recycle container which was a nice surprise when the employee told us. There is also an overall calming scent and presence that makes it feel like a great place to spend some time meditating in the back room. The front lobby had someone doing some computer work at the desk bench which also adds to the open ambiance that if you wanted to bring a laptop it's a perfect cafe. read more

we looooooved this place. My friend and I went up to Beacon for a day trip today and had this spot 2x!!! The first go around we both got the matcha Thomas - mine with boba and it was SO delicious. Ceremonial grade and so smooth. The woman who took our order was so sweet and gave us her best recommendations she also told us that they only use plant based milk because the properties & nutrients of the matcha pair better with a plant based milk which I thought was fascinating. Our second go around I got the lavender and my friend got the matcha Thomas again- both of the drinks we got and each round was 10/10 I wish they were offered in the city because they would be so freakin popular. The sweetest little matcha shop you didn't know you needed in your life. Seriously I love coming here and supporting the women who opened it. In addition, the space is a breath of fresh air, tranquil and filled with food energy. Their matcha is high quality as well as their drinks. Sometimes they even have baked goods for sale! We came all the way from Rockland County to do some weekend exploring of Beacon. When I researched for places to grab a bite and when I saw a tea house specializing in matcha and offered vegan treats I had to try it out. I must say the quality of the matcha latte of which we tried the Golden Green, which was top notch and that treat was amazing as well. The ladies behind the counter was very helpful and informative. She helped us narrow down which to choose from the menu. We so wished we had something like this around us. We will definitely be back for more. read more

The lines can be long both at the farmer's market and at their brick and mortar, but the wait is well worth it! Each drink is made to order and is delicious! I usually find matcha gross, but everyone was hyping about this place so I though I'd give another try. Theirs is actually nice! Took the signature matcha with coconut which was really interesting and original. Wish they had more options for sweeteners other than agave. Service was nice and quick. They have a cute chill out room in the back with a projector that shows Miyazaki. It was hot and they didn't have an AC, only a big fan which made it uncomfortable to sit inside for more than a few minutes. I got the strawberry and matcha boba tea and love that the strawberry is so fresh! For once, the service was great. I saw the mother and daughter both working together. I came here for a sample, for the Yelp Elite experience. I believe I got the "brown sugar mocha". It had brown sugar LOL. The daughter was very polite and nice. I believe they infused it with a green tea? I had no idea what to expect, I do love Bubble Tea but I don't really go out of my way to order it. It's something I'll get if I'm with someone else getting it. It was FIRE. I can't believe how good it tasted and I almost went back and went off on them for giving me a "sample" of something so delicious; because why would you be so cruel to change my life like that?
