Very knowledgeable 10/10. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Ramiro was able to diagnose and figure out a tricky thing my car had going on.

After years of looking for a mechanic and only taking my Subaru to the dealership for all repairs…read moreor maintenance over the life of the car (8 years), I decided to take a chance here. I had a great experience with Alex at Value Auto Repair. I originally reached out through Yelp, and he was responsive and answered all of my questions. His pricing was significantly better than what the dealership quoted me, but what really stood out wasn't just the price--it was his honesty. I came in with a humming noise that I believed was a bad wheel bearing but was unsure. Alex was upfront from the beginning after making the same diagnosis and even encouraged me to get quotes from other mechanics if it made me feel more comfortable so I could make sure I was getting a fair deal. That kind of confidence and transparency is hard to find. When I arrived, he was able to get my car in within about 30 minutes to diagnose it. While the part was being delivered, I went to lunch, and once I came back, he had the wheel bearing replaced in about 45 minutes. Before I left, he took the time to show me both the old and new wheel bearings, explaining how they worked and letting me hear and feel the difference. I really appreciated him taking the time to educate me instead of just handing me a bill. One thing I noticed while I was waiting was how many customers came in who clearly knew Alex. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to see him, several appeared to be repeat customers, and there was an obvious level of trust between them. After my own experience, I completely understand why. Alex also has a great sense of humor, which made the whole experience much less stressful. Most importantly, the humming noise is completely gone, and my car drives perfectly again. If you're looking for an honest, knowledgeable mechanic who charges fair prices and genuinely cares about his customers, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alex and Value Auto Repair. I know I'll definitely be back.

I wanted only recommended Subaru oils, antifreeze, spark plugs, etc. Value followed the manufacture's recommendations, which I was very happy. The maintenance was done in a few hours. The prices are competitive, but the trustworthiness is superior. This a great company.

I have been to this Valvoline several times but only really had issues the last 3 visits. When I…read moretook my Toyota and Lexus last time, both tubes to the intake were disconnected. I gave them the benefit of the doubt prior but this time around, the same thing happened. I told them that I already changed my filter so no need for one. I also refused all other services. As I leave and then check to see if the same thing happened, what do you know, the tube is unplugged. I go back to confront the staff about it and the CSR (Jorge) specifically said he watched the top tech (Ricardo) unplug the tube and plug it back in. i asked, why would the tube need to be touched or unplugged at all if I refused air filter service? He had no answer. The look on his face of being caught in his lie is undeniable. The manager was also not helpful and Im sure she is aware her staff do this. Im curious how many other customers they have done this to in the past resulting in a possible check engine lights and fictitious repairs by this Valvoline location? I would be very curious to know. I have reported this to Valvoline Corporate and I expect a call no later than Monday (10/19/26) by noon. This location should not be doing this to customer vehicles which could be considered intentional vandalism and possibly fraud. When I went back, I asked for names and the manager refused. When I called Valvoline Cuustomer Service he said that all names are on the invoice (Jorge, Ricardo, Caleb). He asked "Were you given an invoice? and I said no." He said it should have at least been emailed to you and it wasnt so he said he will email it to me. These are not staff I recognized from my prior visits so it somewhat proves that this is just normal practice at this location. Have you had this experience as well? If so, reach out as I may bring this to court as no company should be doing this to ANY paying customers. If I could give negative -100 stars, I would. Their actions could fall under the following CA laws: Business & Professions Code § 9884.7, Business & Professions Code § 17200, Civil Code § 1709, or Penal Code § 594. I also asked Valvoline customer service to delete my customer information in fear these individuals will retaliate and vandalize my property. If something does happen, I know it was them.
